Throughout the last 9 years my husband and I have purchased multiple items from the Gold & Diamond Source. We originally only used "Stout Jewelry's" because they were a small family owned store until they decided to go into the "pawn business". We wanted another "family owned jewelry" instead of going to a corporate owned franchise store. The first 3 experiences at Gold & Diamond Source were great! Great customer services, friendly, never did we get the feeling that they "worked on commission", so when I went in to G&D during the month of December to purchase over a 3 caret single loose aqua marine solitaire, a pair of 1 caret aqua marine earrings and a 1.5 caret aqua marine pendant (no necklace included), I was shocked to not only see the difference but feel the difference of how much the atmosphere had changed!
The customer service was ok, but literally, I saw 4 different "sales people" arguing on two different visits of who got which customers that were just let in the door (Covid counting). I was completely shocked how they openly fought over which one "got" which customer. Then to witness at least 5 times during these 2 visits that the "sales people" were all over the (first visit a male employee) at the door who was stating which "sales person" was going to help each "customer" then (on the second visit a female employee). It was terrible. Then in January, my mom decided she wanted to take her great-grandmother's amethyst cross necklace which was originally a rosary that came from Ireland and make it into a different setting. We were sent to an older gentleman who sat near the front and he did not even listen to my mom or myself, he actually took the necklace, which is over 150 years old and just looked at it and stated that the amethysts were not real and worth nothing!
To make things worse my dad just passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 2nd (after 53 years of marriage) and my mom was heart broken that the man actually did not even look at the necklace, nor did he refer us to one of design people to find out what my mom wanted to do with the necklace. Needless to say we took it to 2 other jeweler's who we had perform "lab testing" on all the amethysts and proved with documentation that they were all authentic!
I wanted to call and speak to someone at Gold & Diamond Source, but I decided it just wasn't worth it until I was in the car with my 15 year old daughter and a commercial came on over the radio (99.5) about "do you have a jewelry box stashed under your bed that your grandmother gave you? Come on in to Gold & Diamond Source and our experts will help you determine the value" of your precious heirlooms.
I was so angary that I pulled off the road and immediately called Gold & Diamond Source when I spoke to their "General Manager" who felt so awful about our experience and that he was going to make it right. He stated that "Julie usually handles these types of rare situations but she is out of town until Saturday so he was going to have her call me sometime between Sunday and Tuesday of the following week. Well, I just received this "google review questionnaire" from them in my email so I thought well, I will just go ahead and review them, seeing of course I never heard back from "Julie". They are all commercial and certainly all about the bottom line regardless of their charity work.
