This place was my first deep dish pizza, therefore, my review should be taken with a grain of salt. Not having other deep dish pizzas to compare it to, I still felt that it was very good. The pizza was filling and very moist. I didn't feel that it was an overload of cheese and I was able to eat 2 slices before I was filled up. Expect to wait about 45 minutes for the pizza.

It was my first time experiencing Chicago deep dish pizza in Chicago. I found it unique to have the meat at the bottom and then the cheese and then the sauce. It was a nice change from the typical Pizza.

It was good pizza but except it was cold. The thing is the manager came and talked to us. But the issue with us was the service was slow like we waited 30 min to get cold pizza. So just to say it is a great pizza if they can serve you hot instead of cold pizza which is what we got.

This place is always busy but it is well worth the wait! Best deep dish pizza (& thin crust too). The bartenders are really friendly and provide relatively quick service even when its busy. A must stop while in Chicago.

A great Chicagoan experience, a real local's place and soooo yummy!
Although I'm a tourist there were lots of local people so u can tell it doesn't ged old..!
Now I know why everybody from Chicago speaks of the deep dish pizza!
We ordered the large size deep dish pizza with spinach, so good! We got really full but couldn't stop eating!
-We also ordered the mozzarella bites and three kinds of salads and they were yummy as well...!

I'll be the one to be real. Yes, good pizza, but in my opinion, not worth the hour plus wait to get a table and then wait for the pizza to cook. We ordered two pies and at $30 a piece I would think they would be amazing. They were good, but not worth the time or money. Definitely glad we did it, as when in Rome.

Great pizza and great atmosphere. However, it was very full and probably against fire code firing all of us in there that tightly. I asked for a kids menu three separate times and finally had to walk up to the hostess to ask for one, only to be told they don't offer them. This blew me away. Also, the deep dish pizza takes over an hour to cook, so they should tell you that before you wait and are seated

tl; dr PRO TIP: If its a weekend, you line up at the "line line" and your friend should line up on the "pre-order pizza line". Both waits should be about an hour/hour and a half and you can save lots of standing around.

I wasn't able to try the food because as a tourist, I got confused. After waiting 30 min in line to get in the line, we had to wait an hour. Okay, they warned us about that when we got to the line. On the menu it says that the pizza was going to take 40 min for this pizza to be cooked. Alright I'll wait 30 minutes before going to the second line to pre-order my pizza. When I get to the line to pre-order my pizza, which was anothe 30 min, the guy told me it would take 1 1/2 hours to make my pizza, so I should've started waiting in the second line right after passing level 1.

I only had one day in Chicago so I wish I could've tried the infamous Giordanos, but I am understanding, so I'm happy that they are so successful that they are busy. BUTTTT ( and I'm impressed if you actually went through that whole rant) the lobby was A HUGE FIRE HAZARD!! It was impossible to get in and out of the insanely packed lobby. There was only one rotating door for dozens of people trapped in a hot lobby.

After a few not so great experiences with ChicagonDeep Dish Pizzas. I was recommended this place. They stood up to all the build up. I tried the thin crust and the deep dish. Both were really well done. From there tomato sauce to the cheese, from the crust to the toppings. Every bite was to be relished for.

The signature deep dish pizza takes 45 minutes to cook, so be prepared to wait. But it's sooooo worth it !!!
We ordered the small meat lovers'. Delicious!!! 2 of us, we still have half in the fridge!!

Not a bad place to eat, but just learn to be patient. It doesn't matter what day of the week it is, that place will ALWAYS be busy. Also keep in mind that deep dish pizza takes time to make. It's nothing compared to regular pizza.

After waiting an hour for a table, my experience was great. My server was nice and my pizza was delicious.

1st time in Chicago and wanted to have authentic ChiTown pizza, this place was in walking distance of the Millennium Park so we went for it! Super glad we did, not only was the pizza amazing but so was my waiter, Luis you rock! Waited 30 mins for the deep dish but that is to be expected for this classic. Now I can sleep like a baby on my flight back home.

We have been waiting for our pizza since an hour and half. The reason for delay is they didn t put our ticket in and being Friday afternoon they are busy. And another 25 minutes to get our pizza as they just put in the oven! For such a big name pizza chain that is a very lame excuse. We missed being somewhere and the manager Emilio just offered to give half off on the order. Definitely not coming back to this place!

I was pretty dissatisfied and disappointed with this Giordanos. Our pizza was slightly burnt and there wasn't enough sauce on the pizza either. The pizza also lacked its usual flavor. I don't te comment coming to this specific Giordanos, unless all Giordanos are like this now, which would be a tragedy.

First, Giordano's is not the restaurant to eat at if you are a customer that uses any type of wheelchairs. There is not a section or area used for the hour or so waiting period, so I had to listen to other customers complain about me being in the way and blocking the area during exiting. If I had wanted to go outside and wait (I definitely thought about it) that was a problem as well because there are no automatic push buttons on the door, so I would have needed assistance with the door to exit. Secondly, what the staff needs to realize (especially the management and owner) is that the first impression really counts because it helps determine if the customers would be willing to return. The young ladies at the entrance greeting the customers are very rude with their "I don't give a care attitude". As stated in previous comments, you wait in one line to give your name to be seated and then another line to place your order ahead of time because of the long wait times. Each line has young ladies with very serious attitudes, rudeness and a disrespectful demeanor that should have been noticed by the manager on duty. I was a paying customer and it is their job to have contact with me because they said yes to accept the position, so they were not doing me a favor.

Thirdly, after waiting a hour to be seated and another twenty minutes at the table, the food was horrible. The pizza was dry and with out sauce plus the crust was so hard that you could hardly chew it. I had pizza left and I didn't want to take it to go because it was so bad. After I told the waiter that I did not want the pizza he boxed it anyway. Thin crust cheese, thin crust half sausage and half pepperoni and thin crust barbecue chicken with onions no bacon were all horrible. Over one hundred dollars for bad service and bad food, never again. Receiving rudeness and attitudes from the staff (and customers because there is not an area for me to sit in my oversized wheelchair) sucks to the max. I think that all customers deserve the right to receive proper service when dining in any restaurant. Giordano's failed this customer completely and I feel that no one in management cares about the situation because this issue is mentioned in many complaints (and it has not been corrected).

Located well within walking distance of Millennium Park this is the end-all be-all must have chicago style deep dish pizza. This pizza chain comes highly recommended from locals and tourists alike and for good reason, it was delicious. The pizza comes exactly as advertised, a traditional chicago style deep pie, with flakey amazing crust with just the right amount of toppings as to not make the sauce watery. The only drawback is that as a result of the style it takes approximately 45 to make, so sit down, relax, and grab yourself a beverage. Located so close to many landmarks means the waits can get hefty if you arrive near lunch and dinner with lines waiting to be seated stretching out to the street. But if there is anything I can stress more is that it's well worth the wait. 10/10 will be back again!

My recommendation: A small traditional deep chicago classic paired with local brewery Revolution's Anti Hero IPA.

Got to have it... I order take out every time I'm in town. Definitely call ahead for your takeout or place your order online. Don't forget, there is a separate takeout counter around the corner down the steps.

1 HOUR AND HALF TO WAIT FOR A TO GO PIZZA.? It's not made if gold and is not imported fresh from Italy. 90 minutes , i can go watch a movie, get a hair cut and more and still have time to make a pizza from scratch.

YUM. Everything is amazing. Get the salad, and when in doubt, get the smaller size of pizza. Trust me. Also, be sure to ask the chefs exactly how much cheese is on one pizza; it's pretty wild! (But don't ask until you're done eating.)

Service was ok, until it came time for our bill. It took longer to pay for the food than it took to get the food. As far as the food, we had the small deep dish. The small is more than enough for two people. The cheese was excellent Wisconsin cheese. However, the pizza crust itself was a little bland. We are only visiting and will probably not return. Will recommend if you want to sit outside and enjoy the city.

Great local pizza restaurant! The restaurant itself is decorated with nostalgic themes. We came here for the Sunday buffet. The selection of pizza is unlimited, and included in the adult buffet is even one beer or wine. They had dessert pizza and soft-serve ice cream. We will come back and recommend the restaurant to my friends and family.

stuffer pizza, in deep dish ..... do I need to say more. the pizza takes about 40mins to get done from the point you place order, so be prepared. there could be wait . but overall if you are visiting Chicago downtown it's worth the wait. this particular location is right in the center of downtown, walking distance to most attractions.

We went to this place to get deep dish pizza since we are from out of town and wanted to experience true deep dish Chicago pizza. We won. The pizza takes around 45 minutes to cook so be prepared to wait. We didn't mind waiting as it was snowing and raining outside. The servers are very nice. We ordered some hot chocolate which was probably made with powder but was good enough to warm us up from the cold. We ordered the classic deep dish. Where the pizza came out and looked like a pie. It was so big! One of our friends lives in Chicago so he was able to cut the pizza the right way but if you have never cut a deep dish pizza you should probably ask the server to help. It was so beautiful as the slice of pizza was removed and you can see the melting cheese trash from the tray to your plate. I was so hungry that I was sure I could eat around three slices, but one slice was so thick that was already full. I thought that the deep dish pizza was pretty satisfying, but I wish we ordered a different type of pizza instead of the classic since it was just bell peppers sausage pepperoni and olives, but I'm a Hawaiian pizza type of girl. Overall I enjoyed losing my deep dish virginity to this place and it was great to hide from the storm.

Great

The pizza needs no introduction, and I've reviewed Giordano's elsewhere. I like this place for its modest bar. If you're waiting for a train at Randolph Street, there isn't much around drink-wise. And although the bar closes early, it's still a nice place to grab some wine. This G's caters to many conventioneers, so Chicagoans might perchance strike up a conversation with an interesting person from out of town. Or, if you ARE one of the conventioneers, you might be able to quiz a local about what makes Chicago so awesome.

Amazing! One of the "to do's" for my family on our Chicago trip. We were not disappointed. The stuffed deep dish is a meal in one piece, but the staff was even better than the food. It is a well orchestrated operation to give you the best experience possible.
