VIsited here from Atlanta, GA, USA to see an American friend living in Hampstead. We wouldn't have really known about Hampstead Heath if she hadn't taken us on a hike through here. Lovely park and there was a spot with an amazing view of London.

A little crowded when hot and sunny but plenty of shady nooks and crannies to spread a blanket and have a laze in the sun (or shade, my personal preference). Lush, green, lots of friendly dogs and within 7 minutes walking distance from Hampstead Heath Station. Glorious!

Brought my family to the park for an outing, but we have left very upset and our evening was ruined. We were in the kitchen gardens when we saw a man, staring at us from a distance and felt threatened and worried (particularly for the safety of out 3 year old daughter who was playing with a tennis ball with her siblings) as the way he was staring was intimidating and unusual and we had no idea who he was. After several minutes he walked over to us and told us he was the head gardener and proceeded to lecture us about playing with our tennis ball in the gardens, saying things like he has spent a long time making the gardens pretty and we were ruining it. We were very taken aback and were upset as the way he spoke was very belittling and condescending. We said there are no signs about ball games outside the park and he replied saying we don t need signs when people should be using their common sense. We all feel we have been singled out and bullied because we do not fit the usual white upper class visitors to kenwood. There was no reason for him to stare at us, with intimidation and it was disrespectful for him to tell us we don t have common sense, when he could have politely told us not to play with the ball. Very upsetting

Really great to swim, it gets super busy on a hot day so go early and expect to wait, we wait 45mins but very worth it, lovely memorable experience, not for young kids though as you need to be a good swimmer. There is changing rooms and toilets but no lockers so don't take to much valuable stuff, nothing was taken but always a worry when your leaving stuff alone. Really really great time, and so refreshing

My favourite Park in London, what else to say? Get in there and it does feel you're far away from the city. Just for you to get up the Parliament Hill and have an amazing view of London.

Great pools. Early morning you can see ice birds during your swim. I prefer the mixed pool, because it's a bit secluded and feels more intimate. Apparently the lady's pool is prettiest because there are water lelies, but being a man I've never been there. In winter the mixed pool is not open and opening hours are limited so do check the website. I wish we had similar waters in Brussels. I always try to go there when I'm in London, even though it's a bit on the outskirts, even if temperatures are around freezing, no, especially then. Nothing beats a good swimmer's high!

Lovely views, but recommend you visit with company/friend ....very good for people who prefer a little bit of a challenging walk, or good work out in the open air ....but not recommended for 'night' visits ....
