I was shipped a variety box of cupcakes as a holiday/New Year gift. HOW FUN and so thoughtful! First off, the pink packaging is absolutely adorable. The cupcakes all arrived in perfect condition and unharmed from their delivery trip. Last and most important, WOW! These cupcakes are cute as heck and so delicious! The cake is moist and flavorful. The frosting is out of this world. The frosting to cake ratio is on point! I cannot eat more than one a day so I put them in the freezer and hoped for the best. They are just as amazing from the freezer as I pull one out each day as a special treat for myself. I had the key lime one today and I ate it as slow as possible to enjoy every moment!!
TBH, I ve never been a cake person but these little bursts of delight have changed my mind a bit.

I was very excited to try the cupcakes and waited in line, in the cold for 30 mins. I was very disappointed with the quality of the cupcakes, the icing was the only enjoyable part. The cupcakes were so dry and I would not eat here again!

My daughter always told me about this place. Why it took so long to comment about it is beyond me. I always get what I want and the taste is just how it s supposed to be. DELICIOUS !!!! The carrot cake, lemon bomb, red velvet are just a couple of the great ones I ve tried. Yes I do make monthly orders and will continue. Thanks for the delicious tasty and yummy cupcakes that can only be eaten and not duplicated.

After standing in a line for 30 mits I go in they say is only online order... noooo signs only in the door when you go inn... not from DC just wanted to try it... horrible experience

We had a long wait here, but the girl scout cookie cupcakes were worth it. Yum!

Georgetown Cupcake was highly recommended by a friend. Stopped in after dinner and was pleasantly surprised to find a huge selection of amazing desserts.
I have tried three of their items and they were exceptionally good and delicious.
The perfect amount of sweetness.

I did not like this place, because I do not like such desserts: a cake with chemical topping. But many people are delighted with this sweetness.

I was on vacation in DC and my sister told me that I had to try one of these Georgetown cupcakes. OMG!!!! Best cupcake I ve ever had in my life!!!! Wish they had a shop in San Diego. Can t wait to go back!!!

We went back again on a Sunday around 3pm and the one was reasonable

We got 2 cupcakes so came to about $7.50 total.

They were nice and moist

Really good but honestly not worth the hype. Don t get me wrong, they re really good cupcakes. But the line is long, the service is nonexistent, and the cupcakes are small and pricy. Four stars for flavor choices and charm. Lost the final star for price and size.

Cute. But a tourist trap. Could easily bake cupcakes at home that are comparable. Baked and Wired is a one of a kind experience. Go there!

This is a very nice cupcake bakery. The cupcakes are really tasty, but somewhat expensive. Now, I would not complain about the price if they quality was higher. In fact, I was expecting them to be much better given that I was enjoying these treats in a cultural center like DC. They were not so much better than what I could find in a regional center such as Beaumont, TX, Lafayette, LA, or even Lexington, KY. As a result, I found them to be very good, but not great. If you are in Georgetown, they are worth visiting, but not worth a special treat.

It's like how .. can you go to Georgetown without getting a cupcake? YOU CAN'T. I feel like we walked miles to get here from the train, but it was worth it. This store is located on a corner which I believe is good because the line stretches out. The line was out the door, but it was flowing which was good. When we finally got inside of the store, we it started to get overwhelming because there were so many choices! You can look at the board then there is an actual display of cupcakes. We waited about 10-15 minutes until our order was taken.

I ordered a Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cupcake. . now .. wow. Yes. I loved it. Then I also ordered the the Lemon Cheesecake only because the person in front of me ordered and I haaaaad to have it! I was so satisfied with my two cupcakes, I know that I really wanted more. I know I could have more!

Want to sit and enjoy? There are a few chairs and tables inside the store, also a lot of people eat outside.

When in town I will be back for sure.

Although I want to give more stars because their cupcakes are in fact - delicious (as per the staff that felt daring enough to eat one). This review is regarding safety measures.

We ordered a dozen cupcakes for our training group who graduated today.. but when we went to pick up our order, not only was the girl directly in front of the store not wearing a mask - there was another employee in the back standing directly over a table of about 4 dozen unfrosted cakes with her mask down and eating!! We are still in a pandemic where many people are high risk and in fear of Covid. Sadly to say myself and my coworker who picked them up did not eat any because we can t risk contracting Covid. What was more disturbing was when I asked what the owner/manager name was .. the manger was also standing directly in the store and didn t seem too concerned with our expression of discomfort. If a manager is on the shift, the hope and ideal situation would be to reiterate to your staff the importance of wearing masks at all times - especially with glass windows and an open kitchen. Sadly we will not be returning.

There's a line but it goes quickly. The cupcakes are worth the wait and priced well.

Anytime I'm nearby I HAVE to get cupcakes. They are so delicious and fresh. The icing is flavorful and not sweet. The cupcakes are moist and fluffy. I have tried many flavors and am never disappointed. Their gluten free variety is incredibly delicious too. I have tried gluten free cupcakes in other places and they are dense and dry, but these are so good.

Amazing establishment that stands up for what they believe in!!! Couldn't be more proud!!!!

Loving everything about this place including the service.

Cupcakes are pretty good. Not sure if they are quite worth the price (could be either bigger or cheaper). I did not have to wait long in line, but I've seen lines that were easily 30-45mins and that is not worth it to me

I got a 6 pack and they were all pretty good, but unless you get some of the seasonal items, it's basically just variations of chocolate and vanilla. One of my cupcakes immediately disintegrated into a huge mess on a first bite since it was so dry, or was made of crumbled cookies or something... the others were very good, but the icing is really what makes or breaks the cupcake.

Getting to this place is really annoying since there's no metro, it's on the main street and there's nowhere to park unless you magically find a meter or want to pay $10+/hr.

Staff was really nice and service is pretty quick, though

Great cupcakes!!! Lived in DC for 3 years and always heard about them. Once I got the chance to go it has became a routine.

I order from Georgetown cupcakes 3 times a year for special occasions. We love them and so do my friends

Fantastic cupcakes and both vegan and gluten free options. There is usually a long line but it moves fast and is definitely worth the wait!

Long line and my cupcakes were put in the box really sloppily so the frosting was everywhere, but they were delicious!

I expected the expensive price tag, but be prepared. One cupcake is about $3.70, but they are good. I had the peanut butter fudge. It was good, but not perfect. I was a bit worried about the peanut butter frosting, but wanted to try it so badly. Not my favorite taste, but it was done well. However, I don't think the cake was moist enough. It felt a little dry and almost like any other cupcake, just more than double the price. The upside is it was not too sweet, compared to a pack of 6 or 12 you could get at your grocery store for the same price, this is probably much more 'healthier'. The frosting doesn't make you feel disgusted or intoxicated with sugar as many cupcakes do. My friend got the chocolate sundae (I think that's what it was called), she said it was very mosit, the filling inside the cupcake was great and so was the icing. She didn't really like the sundae bit itself, saying it tasted like a warm ice cream sundae at best, which is a weird combination. Her biggest complaint was the price. This as are gourmet treats, so I'd suggest going here to grab a few cupcakes for special events.

I completely forgot that there's usually always a line. If you want to dodge the line, order online at least 24 hours before. I was lucky enough to only wait in line for about 10-15 (maybe 20) minutes. Not as bad as I expected. This was a Sunday afternoon.

Gourmet cupcakes, well deserving of their high price tag. Our favorites: "Strawberry Cheesecake" (February), "Caramel Apple" (September/November), and "Pumpkin Cheesecake" (October/November). Georgetown Cupcake is perfect for a special occasion or to visit while traveling through Georgetown.

I was super excited when I found Georgetown Cupcakes. I was even more excited when I found it s a 5 minute walk from my home! After reviewing your website I then stumbled upon your show DC Cupcakes. I couldn t wait to place my order! Saturday night I put in for an order. The first time didn t seem to work so I did it again. I have 2 pending charges for the same order. I called the next morning and was asked if I received a confirmation email. I did not and my pick up time wasn t until 1 so I was waiting around for it. I even called back and left a voicemail about not getting a confirmation email when it was nearing my pick up time. I left a message and never received a call back. My boyfriend then went into your store around 5pm yesterday and gave the lady the order number and was told it was voided and they didn t have my flavors anyways so he probably didn t want to place an order then. Today, I call trying to place an order Via phone since your online ordering sucks and is unreliable. Of course no one answers or calls me back. This has been a super disappointing experience especially since your business is in my neighborhood. Hopefully someday you will figure out a successful online ordering system or your employees will answer the phone or provide acceptable customer service.

Came here for the hype because of DC Cupcakes. It's delicious although it doesn't necessarily justify the $2.85 price tag. Not to mention there's always a line outside and I've noticed that every time I come to DC. I'd say it's worth it once but I wouldn't frequent this place.

They didn't place the cupcakes into the holders, so when I opened the boxes, they were a mashed up mess. And I had been extra careful not to let the bag get jostled. They were meant to be gifts, but I'd be embarrassed to give something looking like that. 2 stars just because they still tasted good, but I'm pretty disappointed that I paid that much for a mess of cake and icing smeared on the inside of a box.

Seriously the best red velvet cupcakes in dc- dense, rich, and with the perfect amount of cream cheese frosting.

There were a lot of delicious options. It was a bit overpriced and the line was very long, but overall a good experience

If you buy one cupcake, a box to carryout is $0.50.. Which they tell you after you've purchased. Seems excessive, alternatively a bag was offered.. but a cupcake with frosting in a bag _

The staff was overwhelmed.. given how busy they place is, it's understandable but given how long you have to wait outside in the cold is that understanding should be shared.

I had one and it was delicious so I had another and then I decided I ll just buy a whole box Lol I loved it

If there's a line, wait in it. You will not be sorry. I had the best cupcake of my life here.

I have been wanting to try the cupcakes. They are famous and there is always a line.. the good news is.. I ordered mine in advance and was able to skip the long line.. so it was rather swift.. I ordered half a dozen cupcakes.. the chocolate, lemon cheesecake, coconut.. they were all extremely sweet without much flavor. The coconut was pretty good but the chocolate and the lemon cheesecake was all sugar.. this was my first time there. I will not be returning. I am really disappointed..

This place has amazing cupcakes but customer service has room for improvement.

This place has terrible customer service. We placed an order online for delivery 3 days in advance and only received a confirmation and a vague time window for delivery. We then tried to call and move the delivery time. 4 times we called and never got an answer. We left a voicemail and got no follow up. It s so ridiculous. We reached out via email and we were assured our order would be delivered (still couldn t change the delivery time) and the order never came. It was impossible to get a hold of the store to discuss it

Update: the order was delivered late and all the cupcakes melted in the car ride. They did refund our order but the cupcakes were practically inedible

The taste and presentation are absolutely awesome. Some of the best cupcakes I've ever had. The assortment of flavors is awesome as well. Definitely will always make a trip every now and then to get some cupcakes. However, the price is very hard to swallow for a dozen. Yikes.

Delicious cupcake! It's a famous place, so I had to line up, but when I went, I could order within 5 minutes. Taste to eat at least once!

Loved the cupcakes- they re definitely more about the fancy frosting instead of a good tasting cake. It s definitely hyped up, but still good.
Line moves efficiently, it was out the door around 1:30pm on Sunday afternoon. Labor Day weekend.

Personally I didn t think the cupcakes were as delicious as they were hyped to be and the price suggested, however others I know went back a few times to purchase more cupcakes because they enjoyed them.

So yummy. The most amazing cupcakes with many different flavors and icing. I went with parents and received a dozen cupcakes 2 for us each. I got the salted caramel and cookies and cream ones. They were amazing.

As fans of the show DC cupcakes, it was only but logical for us to try at least a cupcake. The cupcake was moist although a bit too sweet.

Glad I could check out Georgetown Cupcakes and enjoy the yummy options.

If you dont have a big sweet tooth, do not take alot cuz most of the flavors are super sweet. I loved Peanut butter fudge. Friendly staff & the line goes prettt quickly.

It 's Americano essential. It' s a pretty and charming shop, but it is long and there are not many places in it. It's different for each flavor, but it's very big. Vanilla shines.

Got four cupcakes today, service was quick and they were fantastic. Staff were super nice as well. Would recommend the red velvet or the chocolate salted caramel.

This is my favorite cupcake store in the whole wide world! Every time I am in DC I have to stop by and grab a cupcake. A particular one I love is the chocolate ganache cupcake. A must try, don't let the long line fool you, it moves quickly.

The cupcakes are delicious but almost no table to eat on the spot. Could be more neat or even cleaner.

The cupcakes we got were amazing and delicious. We stopped by around 3 pm to avoid long lines, and the service was very quick. The staff on duty barely smiled and didn't seem friendly. They were also a little impatient when foreigners were ordering. Overall, a good stop if you're in Georgetown and have seen their show.

Here is my completely honest review. I was expecting this place to have the BEST cupcakes but I was underwhelmed. I stood in line for a while only to have pretty decent cupcakes. Only two of the five cupcakes I had were good and just that. Good. I was let down. The frosting was okay. The taste of most of the cupcakes were not rich and flavorful. Totally not worth it to stand in line for so long but if you want to try it out, be my guest! There's a another great cupcake shop just a few streets down called Baked and Wired! Definitely try that! So worth it.

My husband surprised me with a dozen of their Valentine's assortment, I'd take these gems over flowers and jewelery, any day! Of all things that are holy, these cupcakes were not just a bite of cake, but an experience. The goodness of each and every one of the 12 cupcakes was out of this world. I've eaten lots of cupcakes from just about everywhere and have had my share of really good ones, but THESE take the cake (no pun intended)
