Great cupcakes, probably not worth the hour long wait.. But that might just be me.
Without a doubt, the best cupcakes I've tasted. If you visit this area of the city is a must stop, yes, come early because there is usually a line, but you will leave enchanted. The place is very cute and nice, the staff very friendly and you can also see how they prepare the cupcakes.
My recommendation is: carrot, Gray te with lavender, Velvet net and hummingbird.
Delicious cupcakes, but very expensive for the amount of food you're getting.
I ordered a dozen ahead of time and was able to walk right in! We were there less than 5 minutes! Our dozen included Banana Split, Blueberry Cheesecake, Red Velvet, Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl, Milk Chocolate birthday. The banana split was good. So much flavor. My daughter chose the blueberry cheesecake and liked it. She's 7. Red velvet is so good. The icing is awesome and the cake is moist, even after sitting in the box on the counter overnight! The Chocolate peanut butter swirl was like a Reese's cup. Very good & I don't like chocolate cake. The milk chocolate birthday was good, but not great. The icing seemed a bit sweet. The icing on the others didn't seem too sweet, just yummy.
Lived up to the hype! Really yummy! Loved the variety of flavors and that they even changed gloves to accommodate for one of our allergies.
Delicious cupcakes, specially chocolate peanut butter cheesecake
I think they are overrated. I prefer those from Whole Foods.
I am a cupcake fiend and have tried all the major cupcake bakeries in DC. Georgetown Cupcake is my favorite! Delicious!
Very tasty! Honestly the best cupcakes I've ever had!
Can only order online before 5pm when they close at 7pm. Waste of time to visit this establishment. I visited a couple years ago and thought I would support this bakery again. Unfortunately COVID empowered the impractical business model of not allowing customers to enjoy their products. Don t worry though I just went right down the street to another cupcake shop (there are many alternatives). I will never return to this location again. I suggest that you change your name to KAREN s Cupcake.
I specially went there for the cupcakes, and there was a huge line even at 9:00 pm. The cupcakes were amazing!
Yummy. We had the Key Lime, Cookies and Cream, Red Velvet, Rainbow, Peanut Butter and Unicorn. They were delicious and my White Mocha was delicious! The Key Lime was flavourful and light tasting. Glad I came all the way from Ontario, Canada for these delicious treats. I smushed them a little.
Delicious CupCakes, would definitely recommend as a desert!
Will definitely come back.
Only drawback is that they wouldn t take orders in store because of covid, so we had to order on the phone right outside of the store. A bit annoying given the summer heat.
Not worth the line
Go to Baked and Wired for better cupcakes and better coffee
After trying their cupcakes it will be difficult to appreciate them in other places. Indispensable!
Awesome actual cup cakes. We tried the more s chocolate cheesecake. Best cupcakes ever!
5 stars for the Best Red Velvet cupcakes, full stop. Recommend they offer chill bags, good add on and will keep cupcake icing from melting. 2 stars for the experience. Very much a conveyor belt, not a smile in the house by staff, I guess it's old hat seeing visitors excited to be in their shop.
Cupcakes are great from here but expect a wait because of this. The line is normally out the door which tells you how good they are.
We stopped in after walking around the university. The place was very busy, lined up out the door. It moved fast. The store is so well laid out and visible from the street. The group of us tried a few of the different cupcakes. They were over the top. The best one was the peanut butter. But all of them were good. They have a large variety of flavors. I am sure you can find a favorite!
There is minimal parking in this part of town. So good luck if you try and drive here.
There's no doubt that the cupcakes are unique and sugary-sweet, but this particular storefront has always had a long waiting line up the street which goes quite slowly. Everyone must try it at least once though, as it is a rite of passage for Georgetown visitors. ;)
Icing has a very strong cream cheese flavor. I think these are over priced and overrated. I think the other cupcake stores in town like Sprinkles and Baked and Wired have more flavorful and moist cupcakes. I've compared all 3 places and this place is on the bottom.
It was nice to see they had a system in place for dealing with crowds. Cupcakes were good- it was a worthwhile stop!
Quite an amazing variety of flavors offered.. hard to settle on one
I picked a red velvet cupcake it was not my favorite.. will def go back and try other flavors
Delicious cupcakes, much sought after a little lugra
The cupcakes are mediocre and are overpriced I would understand the price if they were amazing, but they re not .the cupcakes at my local bakery are cheaper and have better taste , but I watched their show for a long time and it was a cool experience they lines may be long but they move fast! I recommend you get a couple cupcakes to make sure you like them before dropping 36$ on a dozen
Ordered for the family who loves these. I liked my cake. Lime flavor was incredible icing and the topper were so so. Key lime
Terrific, best cupcakes I've ever had. New location is in a great spot, friendly staff.
Best cupcakes you will ever have. Always fresh and delicious. Icing is still soft and the cake themselves is moist. Absolutely recommend.
SO worth the wait in line for these cupcakes! hey were beyond the talk and so so delicious! We got the 6 box and I am so glad we did, we truly enjoyed all of them!! Dont get freaked out by the line, it moves fast and it soooooo worth it!
I do think see the big deal or why the service is slow
I visited during the cherry blossom festival so obviously there was a long queue for ordering cupcakes + many cupcakes were unavailable (but cannot blame them). The people are nice and they help you with the selection. Cupcakes lived up to the hype. Five stars!!
Amazing service. The line was out the door but we only waited less than 5 minutes to get inside and order
Friendly and efficient staff. Plus the Halloween cupcakes were the best I have EVER had.
Usually I get great cup cakes but last week I got two stale cakes the frosting was fine but the cake was stale, one even tasted burnt. I told 2 of my friends and they said the said thing. Too bad because I used to love them.
Wow, I can't belive how good these cupcakes taste. I'd fly back from the UK just to get a cupcake.
Have ordered many times and always perfect delivery. 1st time ever ups delayed delivery for almost a week and without hesitation the people in shipping took care of me and got me a brand new order
A+ thank you guys so much for your help and support
Couldn t ask for better service (or cupcakes)
Overhyped but still pretty good. Friendly service.
Huge queues. Clearly popular... Nice cupcakes though
My boss received cupcakes from his daughter in law, shipped to our office in Ohio. The FedEx guy left the package SIDEWAYS and all the frosting slid off! I emailed the company, expecting it to be a dead end email, but i received a response within an hour, and we are now receiving a replacement batch. Don't get me wrong, we tasted the frosting off the lid with a bite of cake, to make sure it was worth the hassle of re ordering, and it definitely was.
I have been here like million times. It is just amazing.
They have new Halloween flavors. All tasty and cute. It is always cheap to buy in dozens.
There is lot of 2 hour parking on street near by.
I have eaten their cupcakes and they are good. There was a 100 ppl line this weekend and thry suggest u preorder a day b4 so u don't have to stand in the line.
Best cupcakes ever had in my life and strawberry was the best!!!!!!!
Do I really need to say anything about this place .... #Heaven Try the cupcake with the cheesecake crust
Good cupcakes with lots of selections, kids love them. Long line but moves pretty fast, the staff are friendly and quick. Even at 8:30pm in the evening, people are still coming. A must visit in DC.
Choose a lot of cup cake shops, children s favorite. Although there is a queue, it is actually quite fast. The service staff in the shop are very friendly and fast. We also have to line up at 8:30 in the evening, and there are still a lot of people. This is coming to DC A stop not to be missed.
Decent cupcake for expensive price. Wonder why its so famous. Not meaning they are no good. They are yummy.
Must have for anyone visiting DC!!! As a baker I very rarely like bakery items because i hate shortening (its straight fat and leaves a gross feeling in your mouth) and that's what most bakeries use. But i love Gtown Cupcake!!! Totally worth the time waiting, paying for parking, not to mention the fact that i could easily make a dozen cupcakes at home for what we pay for 1 there. But all that is totally worth it when you take that first bite!!! <3
The line for cupcakes wrapped around the block! Unfortunately I could not have any because I was in a rush and could not wait 30mins . But they smelled divine though :)
Delicious Cupcakes worth standing in long line outside the store in freezing cold!
A Georgetown and DC cupcake staple, of the originals and the best.
Too good the variety and the quality that's why it's on the tv show
It is nice all the only drawback is the reduced space for attention.
The cupcakes are excellent. The wait can be quite ridiculous. Little to no seating space.
OVERPRICED tiny cupcakes..they are good but price when one considers tiny size ...is OUTRAGEOUS.. YOURE BETTER OFF GOING TO DUNKING DONUTS OR BUYING A DOZEN DELICIOUS CUPCAKES FROM YOUR SUPERMARKET FOR $3 INSTEAD OF $40. NOT WOTH WAITING 20 MINUTES FOR OVERPRICED DOUGH TOPPED WITH CHOCOLATE..GET REAL
Not sure why this place is so popular. Cupcakes and baked goods of better quality and price can be found elsewhere and everyone in line and the service seem to be in a bad mood.
Tourist trap, overpriced cupcakes they don t taste any better than the kind you find in the grocery store. People that actually go here and wait in line for their cupcakes are insane!
This is one of my daughter's favorite places in Georgetown.. It is not too big and the lines are usually long. Other that than be prepare to enjoy all the flavors and options offered.
My wife love cupcakes so she heard about this place so we went. We were impressed!
A little pricey, but so worth it. Many delicious flavors. Their focus is on quality over quantity. Go during off peak hours to avoid excessive waits.
Staff was great. I just personally thought it was a good cupcake, nothing really special. I had the chocolate birthday cake.
Ok. So I'm sure everyone that visited here was waiting in the line for like an hour to get to taste what George Town Cupcake's cupcakes are like. I was one of them as a cupcake lover. The bottom line is it was just OK. To be honest, it is not worth that much of wait. I understand it has been on some famous show and all, but their cupcakes didn't really amaze me comparing all the fame it has gotten. I got Key lime flavored and my husband got salted caramel one and I would give both 5 out of 10 if I have to. I think the main reason I didn't like them was the frosting. They were too oily and waxy. It didn't really have much flavor in it; just like some cheap wal-mart icings if you know what I mean. The cupcake bread was fine but all together, it wasn't just worth going there. I know I would never go back there.
Cupcakes tasted pretty good, but were overpriced. Also, the bathrooms were filthy.
Super crowded, but worth it. They only let is so many people inside at one time (so it's not a mad house inside). But if it's raining, you'll have to get wet in line, so be prepared.
Great tasting icing, good tasting cake but could be more moist for the price you pay for these cupcakes. Selection is also quite limited In store. Good coffee selection, but space is limited. Great place to pass by after an afternoon walk and dinner in Georgetown. I recommend made to order cupcakes as selection is much better and cake is usually better as well.
So yummyyyyy.AMAZING place. The people are nice and they help you with the selection.Reasonable price, Highly recommended
Fantastic cupcakes. Ordered 2 random cakes and wasn't dissapointed. They lived up to the hype and the wait. They also seem to have a decent knowledge of crowd control and the wait wasn't long at all. Highly recommend.
Crazy busy always for decent cupcakes. I recommend ordering ahead online for pickup or visiting another nearby location, like Bethesda
