Definitely a great brewery to hang out at in the Ghent area. Although their beer selection tends to be more on the darker side (stouts and porters) compared to other local breweries, all of the beers that I have tried are very high quality. This is definitely an up-and-coming brewery to check out!

Place is good and beers are good, but don't feel like the lady who waited us has no interest talking about the beer choice at all. she kinds of pushed the menu and walked away while we are trying to ask questions.

Great beer, great staff, great atmosphere. So many places are so loud you can barely hear yourself think, let alone hold a conversation. Strike up a Sci-Fi conversation with Kevin and you'll have hours of good talk. Love this place!

Amazing craft brews! Their stouts and radler are to DIE for. I didn't even know what a radler was until I came here and its my new favorite kind of brew! Their lemon gose had a perfect mouth puckering taste as well. The Meg has a high ABV so if you're not careful, you might have a little too much fun! Would recommend

Walked in with a couple friends about 20-25 minutes before closing and the guy at the bar was less than enthusiastic about taking our orders. For one friend it was his first time and the other it was his second. We were very interested in trying some of the sour beers on draught, but before we could order anything, the guy at the bar said that he made last call 10 minutes ago -- which didn't really make sense, but fine, I get it, they're about to close -- and said we would need to down our beers quickly. Needless to say, we felt not welcomed. We stood there for a minute or two and then decided to leave. There's enough breweries in the area for my money to go to. Coelacanth is a dime a dozen brewery. And with service like that, you just lost three customers. I'll spend my money for better beer at Reaver Beach, Commonwealth, Big Ugly, Smartmouth, O'Connor, Bench Top, Alewerks, Back Bay, Pleasure House, etc before I go back to that place again.

What a find! I come from Athens, Ga which has some awesome breweries. I have high expectations and this place met them all! Some great beers, very friendly staff, and plenty of board games.

Atmosphere - check Friendly staff - check location - check The beer - DELICIOUS! The rosemary lemon wheat is different and refreshing, their whole ever change lineup is great, but do not miss out on the oatmeal stout. Truly one of the best oatmeal stouts around the area and beyond. We look forward to visiting Coelacanth Brewing a lot in the future.

The passionfruit gose here was fantastic, and the tasting room itself was a really neat and open space. The only thing I didn't enjoy here though was the bartender seemed really disinterested in the customers and really engrossed in his phone, but overall I would go back.

Some new breweries are little more than a garage with some kegs, but Coelacanth surprised me by being well designed and well finished! The beers were great, and they offered a wide variety with some really interesting flavors. Highly recommend!! The beer is pretty good but I loved the place more for the atmosphere. They offer different food from vendors. Also they have a 10% discount for teachers.

This is an amazing brewery with awesome staff. They always have great promotions going on in the public and sometimes even some free swag. The beer is amazing and adventurous at a decent price. Lots of different styles. I especially like their darker and smoky beers. The Kopi Manis is definitely the best coffee beer I've had. We wound up visiting during my bachelor party and it was a great time.

So not gonna lie this place is amazing. Spot on beers, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND their beer flights. Four beers that are the perfect drink size and they give you plenty of choices. Also the food is delicious.

We found this place driving around, really cool brewery with good beer. We were able to bring our baby with us you can buy chips peanut pretzel if you're a little bit hungry. You also can bring food from an outside place.

Service was great. Super fast through the line and efficient at checkout. Nathaniel was taking care of the dining area while we were there and he was so kind and attentive. He cleared everything away as soon as we wanted and brought us to-go containers. He even encouraged us to top off our drinks and got us lids and straws. I went back to add even more cash to the tip jar because of him! Coelacanth Brewing

This is a cool little urban brewery tucked away behind the strip mall on 21st Street. They have a garage door that is opened during the warmer months and a food truck is usually right out front.

Tasty beers. You can get a great variety from a flight, and the staff are happy to explain the beers to you. They have a good selection of board and card games, so stop and hang for a while. It's definitely tucked away, but worth it.

Love the fresh pasta here- I've never had something I don't like. It's a "special occasion " place for us, food is reliably great. My only complaint is that even if you have a reservation you may end up waiting an hour, but I guess that's to be expected with a small restaurant. But for pasta this good I'll gladly wait an hour. Coelacanth is an awesome brewery located in the heart of Norfolk. It is centrally located, and had a variety of beer options that are sure to please the palate. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the environment is pretty sweet (garage style, but feels welcoming). Great neighborhood apot.!

Decent beer selection and definitely a cool location. They serve some of the more creative beers (goses, sours, etc.) as compared to other breweries in Norfolk. Definitely a cool little place my wife and I would recommend!

Amazing brewery. Every time my boyfriend and I visit we are reminded how much we love it. Everything from the beer selection (not ALL IPA s like most breweries it seems) to the lights/decor to the great & attentive staff. We are forever customers! :)

Clean beers and off to a good start. The gose is complex and the Octoberfest is solid. Also, the space is cool and the location is good. Parking is challenging but that is true for most places in the area.
