Quick fast friendly service with super soft and fluffy cupcakes! Highly Recommend!!
Cupcakes were yummy but tiny and priced a little too high for me. I like a big fat cupcakes for that price.
Lots of hype, better cupcakes near by. The best is Baked & Wired
AMAZING CUPCAKES. Always long lines. Really expensive (3.50 each cupcake). Cupcakes are really tiny. Very crowded. No space to sit in store.
Red velvet cheesecake swirl is the best thing that will ever happen to you
If you love long lines to get a cupcake this is your place. I have been here a few times. Thankfully the first time I came there was no line which I now realize is bizarre. The cupcakes flavors are varied and rotate often. They are more icing over cake. The cake piece is Ok, all the flavors is in the icing. If you are not an icing fan like myself you end up scraping off most of the flavor.
Absolutely loved it! Parking is terrible, but not their problem.
I have heard from several people the DC cupcakes is a novelty because of the Cupcake Wars show. Well they are completely wrong. The cupcakes are very delicious and more moist than most cupcakes I have had. The only downfall was that there wasn't many unique cupcakes flavors when I visited; however, what was there was very good. It is a must go!
Had to try it and it was worth the 10 minute wait. A little cramped inside but the cupcakes are so good, you can't blame the crowd.
Why is this the only place with perfect cupcakes? The line is always long and the cupcakes are always minutes away from being perfectly frosted. Their size is just large enough to satisfy a craving - while possibly sampling 2 scrumptious flavor combinations - but full of fresh, natural flavor not over-sweetened or over-stuffed with fake junk. With ~20 flavor combinations ranging from traditional chocolate or birthday vanilla to special seasonals like key lime or lemon lavender, the wait is always worth it. The ability to order 24 hours ahead online and skip the line is fantastic!!
If you're famous all the time, you have to admit it.
Highly overrated! We waited on line for 20 minutes, and realized once we were inside that it didn t need to be nearly that long.. the cupcake boxers are extremely slow. We thought the cupcakes were going to be better for all the PR the store receives, but the cake was very dry :( the frosting was good though.
Perfectly wonderful cupcakes! Perfection everytime!
Although the cupcakes are beautiful and taste good, the customer service was inefficient and not sincere. We went there minutes after it opened and it had a line that went out the door (which didn't bother me because it's a popular place). The bakery itself was very small and cramped and some people decided to be rude and ignore the whole line and cut. So when it was actually our turn we ordered 14 cupcakes and had a list of them ahead of time to make sure they knew what we wanted. We waited a very short amount of time and when we got our order there was only a dozen and not the two others. We went back and took our receipt the woman acted annoyed that they didn't get our order right. And she just held her hand out without even making eye contact with us and took the box and just walked away from us without even saying anything. She checked the cupcakes and then got the ones that they missed and just handed us the bag and walked away annoyed. Didn't even say sorry for the mistake that they made. They actually didn't say anything and acted irritated with us when they had to correct THEIR Mistake. This trip to this famous bakery was very long waited and was just kind of a let down and ruined the experience.
So yummy. I went with family and got a dozen cupcakes 2 for us each. I got the salted caramel and cookies and cream ones. they were amazing.
The cupcakes here are really good but are they really worth the price and the 30+ minute wait time? That's something for you to figure out. Unfortunately for me, the answer was yes both times I visited.
Cupcakes were pretty good, but nothing to write home about. Downside was that we there was a long line, had to wait outside in line for about 30min.
I have a terrible sweet tooth and usually tell people I'll eat anything covered in sugar. I was excited to finally try a Georgetown cupcake but it was awful. Took a bite and threw it away. I don't get the hype.
Cupcakes are too overhyped. They all taste the same, bland with the same cream cheese frosting. They seem to throw different toppings on top to get away with the different flavor 20 bucks for 6 cupcakes.. you re better off getting tastier ones from the grocery store. Staff there is very unpleasant and all look miserable. When I went they told us they were not making coffee because there was only two of them running the line, understood but they could at least apologize for the inconvenience. It s disappointing to see people work in customer service and not have the least bit of care to even smile or make it seem like you are welcomed. Do not recommend this place to anyone save your money and time.
Excellent, if you assume your order will be delivered at least 1 - 2 hours outside of your requested and agreed upon delivery window. Ordered the first time for my son s birthday; the cupcakes were delivered almost 2 hours after the end of the delivery window and after the main part of the celebration. Gave them another shot and ordered them for my husband s birthday several months later and the cupcakes were delivered more than 2.5 hours outside of the delivery window. Delivery fee of $10 was refunded both times, but would have gladly traded that for an on-time delivery both times. So if you want great tasting cupcakes to be delivered late with the hopes that your delivery fee will be refunded, place your order. I ll be shopping elsewhere for future events.
I am glad i was able to go, staff is friendly, but the cupcakes were not worth almost $4 each.
My 28 years old/7 month pregnant daughter was going to be spending her birthday in DC and I wanted to make sure she had a special delivery of cupcakes. I emailed Georgetown Cupcakes and they responded to my request within an hour. My daughter loved the cupcakes. "These are the best cupcakes I have ever had." Thank you Georgetown Cupcakes

Cupcakes are very good. Expensive but about the average price for a cupcake in the area. Very heavy, so be warned. Cone in the evenings near closing sometimes they will give free cupcakes away. ;) the lines are crazy during summer and weekends.
The cupcakes are great, but don't wait in the line for it. Get there right when they open, and follow them on twitter to get the free cupcake of the day! I hate waiting in line for them, but a free one with no line is just excelllent :)
Wife and I tried this place during our last trip to D.C. a few years ago. Let me tell you I still can't stop thinking about how awesome these cupcakes were!!! Hands down my favorite cupcake place in the entire USA!!! Crave Cupcakes and Sprinkles Cupcakes can't even come close!!! If you're in the D.C. area, you MUST TRY this place!! Highly, highly recommend.
I ve ordered from here several times over the years for birthday parties and other special occasions, and for the most part, they ve been good experiences. A few minor things that I was willing to look past, such as the delivered cupcakes arriving hours before the selected delivery slot, and partially melted due (was summertime and it didn t appear that the driver had a/c, since all of his car windows were down. In August...). A couple of the cupcakes were a little dry, but the majority have been moist and delicious, so again, I dismissed a few negatives.
That said, I recently had a pretty bad experience with them and it s been a nightmare trying to resolve it. Ordered 3 dozen and 2 of them arrived very damaged. Smashed, stuck together, just not $36 per dozen cupcakes by any means. Extremely surprising since this has never happened before. Tried calling, got voicemail, so I opted to email them instead. I explained what happened and a day later I received a scripted response saying, Our employees put the utmost care into packing orders and are trained to treat the cupcakes very carefully so that they leave the store in perfect condition. We encourage our customers and drivers to keep them as level as possible, yet, unfortunately, occasional accidents do occur. , and asked me to send pictures of the damaged cupcakes, and then they d give me a gift certificate. Firstly, this scripted email is horrible. Makes them sound overly defensive and hints that the customer is too dense to understand how to handle a box of cupcakes. I didn t need to read this long, scripted response about how their staff is specially trained to carry the cupcakes with the delicateness of a newborn. Just resolve the problem!
I send them the pics as requested, and they reply with almost the same, exact scripted email about, Our employees put the utmost care into packing orders and are trained to treat the cupcakes... , I kid you not. They did at least offer to MAIL me a gift certificate, and asked for a good mailing address. I replied to this asking if they can email me a gift certificate to use online, as to speed up ordering replacements. The response I received to that was simply saying your receipt is attached in the email! , and a scan of someone else s receipt. FFS.
There seems to be a dire need of organization with customer emailing. I got the impression that it s a bit chaotic, and the same person doesn t stay with your email, just whoever randomly happens to read the email. My problem should have been fixed EASILY, and yet here I am still trying to reorder the damn cupcakes.
For the price, I expected better customer service. They re delicious, and my kids love getting them for birthdays, but I think this last experience ended my business with them. :(
This is my FAVORITE cupcake shop on earth!!! They live up to their reputation, including the unfortunate long line on the weekend but it s well worth the wait! My favorite was the unicorn cupcake in the picture below. Definitely spend my time waiting and make sure your cell phone has for battery LOL. You will not be disappointed and make sure to get at least six different ones because you will love all of them! - Shenna Johnston, REALTOR, Virginia
I just tried the lemon elderflower cupcake and it was delicious. Perfect ratio of cupcake to frosting, and the cake was so moist. They switch out flavors a lot so I wasn't able to get one of the flavors I wanted but the staff was nice and accommodating. They have a fun secret flavor that if you know what it is then you get it free. It changes every day. Overall great experience.
Cupcakes were ok, not worth waiting in a line that wraps outside the building entrance.
I love everything about it. But there's only one thing I hate is the long line. You can order online before you go and pick it up without waiting in line
The cupcakes are just amazing. Also their coffee is good too. The only problem is parking and the wait here. But it's worth it
If you love cupcakes like me, you'll love Georgetown cupcakes. I highly recommend you go try these guys out.
The flavor of the Irish Creme Red Velvet cupcake was AMAZING!
9:03pm wouldn t let us in! Terrible customer service
Nothing wrong with the cupcakes, but nothing really special to be honest. Slightly pricey for what you get in my opinion.
Got a lavender cupcake that was inedible. Overhyped.
I was very impressed with how smoothly the orders were taken and competed. Very organized, clean and professional.
Nice selection of cupcakes, about 30 min waiting time. Really small place.
Cupcakes are a 10 for sure! Beautifully done and taste is AMAZING! Gave three stars for delivery! 2 of the last 3 orders arrived very late. Latest was 5 days late and it was to be a birthday surprise for my aunt battling advanced cancer. They were to be delivered on a Friday, and showed up the following Wed..... her birthday was Sunday. Although my $ was refunded, I just have lost faith product will be delivered on time. Very disappointed
Real nice place and atmosphere. Line moves very quickly and staff is friendly. Cupcakes are pretty good as well
Love this place! Best cupcakes in DC prepared by a friendly and helpful staff. Each flavor is unique, rotating different flavors every few days. The cupcakes are moist and delicious every time. This place is so good it sometimes has a line- definitely worth waiting for it.
OK, but not great, cupcakes. There's often a line that extends out of the store and well up the street, so plan on avoiding peak hours.
The cupcakes were sweet, but not too sweet! Also a wide variety of flavors which was nice and they even had milk for my boyfriend who can't eat a cupcake without it! Not a whole heck of a lot of space to sit down but people leave pretty quickly so it's not much of an issue! Deeeeelicious!
Twice I have ordered cupcakes for delivery and both times they never arrived, putting me in the embarrassing position of having to apologize for missing birthday gifts. Very disappointed.
It is great if you want to stand in line for a hour
No matter how delicious no cupcake is worth a 1/2 hour in line.
I avoid this place in the summertime due to LONG lines of people visiting the D.C. area. In the winter I go as much as possible. Not the best cupcakes I've ever had but still pretty darn good. The service is always super fast and friendly.
Big fan of their cupcakes. Won t find a better cupcake anywhere else. Oh and you must try their velvet cupcake too!
Amazing cupcakes!!! So many choices and they are so delicious!!
Dont believe the hype. Tastes like Cupcakes you boxcake at home. Overpriced for those little dinky cupcakes.
Yep. The real deal. Hate the line but it moves fast. Staff could use a little smile therapy
I love the cupcakes....best ever, but always check your order before you leave. I only come once a year and for the second year in a row I have gotten home and my order is wrong or, this year, I'm missing a cupcake, ughhh! My fault....I will always tear open the pretty box before I leave and check it every time from now on!
The cupcakes were very disappointing, I could honestly think that I could make better cupcakes my own. It frosting was horrific. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!
The cupcakes are so delicious ... The downside is that the waiting line is long ....
I have enjoyed many a cupcake from Georgetown Cupcake. However, I appreciate Georgetown Cupcake so much after their timely and incredible customer service I received when I encountered shipping issues with UPS. Truly a good experience despite my qualms with UPS. THANK YOU!!
Best in taste and design on those precious and expensive cupcakes. The long line is worth the wait.
It had some great cupcakes and you could tell based on how long the line went down the street. They are quality cupcakes and the wait is worth it.
Expensive.... 6 for $20+... A bit smaller than an average cupcake size.. taste ok. Not worth it.
Yummy cupcakes and you can always get one free from their Twitter page which shows a secret code word of the day to get the free daily flavor.
Cupcakes looked and tasted amazing, but had to wait probably twenty minutes ): I know they they're extremely popular, which means they need to expand! Probably 40 people in that small little place! But if you're in the DC area, try and check it out!
It's a cupcake, not a masterpiece. They are tasty and very sweet. Basically a dense cupcake with frosting on top. Not THE BEST, but ok. Not worth standing in a very long line for
