Customer service is POOR. We left a backpack there by accident, have tried calling them for 5 days and no one ever answers the phone. We left 10 messages and they did not return our call once. Not sure how a business can opperate when they never answer the phone. Very poor customer services. They will be in trouble if/when the TV show ends. : (

I heard so much about this place and was disappointed by the taste and quality of the cupcakes. Service was super nice and helpful, love the staff, I was just expecting better, fresher cakes given their reputation.

The line was out the door with the door open for about 15 min while I was standing in line not including the 2 times driving around the block. Once I got to the door the cashier decided to let the 5 Caucasian individuals in front of me in to tell me to wait until the line dies down some, just to shut the door in my face. I waited until the line died down just to get to the cash register for the 2 cashiers to act as though they had other things to do instead of taking my order, so the money that I had for the 2 dozen cupcakes went out the door with me.

Do not use their shipping service!!! Over a week ago I ordered a dozen cupcakes to be delivered on Friday, May 12th. I was notified by UPS on the day of delivery that the vendor tendered the package for delivery after the shipment cutoff time on the 11th and therefore my package would arrive 3 days later, on the 15th. Who wants 4 day old cupcakes? With the amount of money that customers pay for this service, the staff should be WELL aware of the UPS cutoff times for service. It has been impossible to get in touch with anyone at Georgetown Cupcake to rectify this situation, which is extremely unprofessional. I will definitely not use their services ever again! Google would not allow me to give zero stars. If I could have, I definitely would!

Having dealt with crowds and rain all week on my vacation, I decided to do my own cupcake wars. I picked Georgetown Cupcakes, Sprinkles, and Wired and Baked. I tasted each and give reviews accordingly.

First off, Georgetown had the biggest crowd. It was raining so lines weren't too bad but it still took about 15 minutes to order.
Secondly, Georgetown has a lot of flavors! They all sounded so great and looked great.
Third, Georgetown is slightly smaller than Sprinkles and a lot smaller than Wired. They are .50 cents cheaper than the other places.

When it comes to taste, my favorite cupcake came from Georgetown but they got second on my rating system after Sprinkles. Read on. I ordered the Chocolate Gauche and the Raspberry Cheesecake. The Raspberry Cheesecake was my favorite "cupcake" but after careful consideration I don't think its fair to call it a cupcake. It's a wonderfully delicious cheesecake.
That left me to compare the lemon blueberry cupcake I got at Sprinkles and the chocolate gauche from Georgetown and the two flavors I got at at Wired.
On the taste test, Sprinkles came in first but only ever so slightly. I got the lemon blueberry cupcake and it was moist and perfectly proportioned with cake and frosting. The cake is more moist than Georgetown, which is more of the solid cake consistency that I prefer. It's more of an enjoyable cake. To be scientific I should have gotten similar flavors but I didn't.
So:
Sprinkles: best lemon cake
Georgetown: best cupcake consistency
Wired: biggest

Well, i might admit that i just love cupcakes, but georgetown cupcakes are sone my favorites, they're really good and not so fat i shouyld say a #deluxecupcake. The staff its ok, and i think theyre would love to ewpress better their service, but the shop is too busy and everything has to go fast(well thats how its looks like) so i suggest the shop to devellop better their coffeshop concept, keep the nice staff they have! and let people enjoy more of them! thanks and happy new year

The cupcakes aren't like other places, they're better. They have cool flavors like the cherry blossom cupcake. They're also fluffy and not too sweet. The frosting is nice and fluffy and always has good flavor and texture just like the cake portion. And they don't over do the decoration. So I will always be going their for cupcakes.

Cupcake with cheese cream! Last year, I went to Georgetown as soon as I came this year ~ I should come to eat often. If you go before 11 o'clock, don't line up and eat. Blueberry Cheesecake and Red Velvet Taste

The cupcakes are yummy but they taste even sweeter when you order ahead and can skip the line! They can also do customized toppers on your cupcake for no extra cost - if you submit the order a day or two in advance! Perfect for a birthday or special occasion!

Well first it was my Birthday Nov 30 and I drove a long way to get these cupcakes from Georgetown, well understandably they have different ways to place orders yet it is not on their website. I walked in and asked How can I purchase a dozen, I as a African American women myself... was approached by one of the workers whom was a African American female who not only was rude, but was talking to me with her back turned as if I was bugging her. She told me they could not provide me cupcakes that I would have to order from Uber Eats, my question was why can't I order from the website? And how long would it be, still with ber back turned she said I dont know and walked away. Well I went outside ordered on my phone and I waited and placed an order since I drove so long, but they were old , dry, stale and not tasteful.... I thought this was a good treat for me on my birthday... I will never return... or waste my precious time nor money on this place ever again!! To much money for nasty attitudes and nasty cupcakes!! Now that they make money , they lack customer service!! I can find better service and cupcakes at Walmart!!

Okay

Remeber being a kid and the excitement you would get for dessert after eating some nasty brocolli that your mother forced down your throat or you would not be able to eat said dessert? Well that is the excitement I get everytime I go to George town cupcakes :) you will not be disappointed.

The lines are very long so plan on at least a 30min wait. If you go right before closing time, they probably will only have a few selections left. That being said, these are the world's best cupcakes. My wife never ate cupcakes before we came here. Now she can't stop eating these.

Really packed but their cupcakes are worth it. I usually come here for the peanut butter and red velvet cupcakes but their cheesecake cupcake has become my new go to. I come here every few months. Would recommend it to anyone visiting Georgetown.

The level of customer service is terrible, one of the employees was going outside to tell everyone how to line up and coming back in and boxing cupcakes I thought this was so unsanitary I don't know why he didn't use gloves. I'm only in town visiting, I won't be going back. I understand this is a popular cupcake shop but they really need to come up with a better way to handle the over flow of customers they have.

Perhaps my expectations where slightly too high. We stood in line forever and it was hot. By the time we got to the front to order, they were out of about half of their menu. We ordered a dozen cupcakes, with a small variety. Their vanilla cupcakes were dry. The peanut butter Cheesecake cupcake had a great flavor, but dry. My three year old that steals Buttercream and cupcakes off of my counter all the time when I'm baking would not eat her unicorn cupcake-and that says alot. Visiting here was on my bucket list-but as stated above, I think my expectations were too high!

Love it! Definitely worth checking them out. I would go during the afternoon on a weekday since it's the least packed time. Go any earlier or later, you will be standing for about an hour to order.

Came all the way from 50 miles away, and they said only online order pickups are allowed. Current order would also take a day to prepare. My little girls heart was broken as she had read all about this place and was looking forward to meeting the sisters and enjoying a few cupcakes .

Their cupcake is undoubtedly one of the best cupcakes ever. It is so soft and delicious. There is usually a long line outside the store. It is not that big inside to seat and eat because there is a lot of people. We had chocolate mint fudge and salted caramel cupcakes. Both were good, however, I felt that the frosting is too sweet for me.

Best cupcakes ever! Waited about half an hour but was worth enough!! I bought 4cupcakes but came back for another half dozen right after one bite. I've never liked cupcakes but it changed my mind. Cream was very tasty and cake was super soft! Definitely want to come back again.

Over rated and not sure a two star is justified. The cake was dry and it really lacks flavor. After having Sprinkles cupcakes in Atlanta, Georgetown cupcakes is a one star in comparison. I carried the cupcakes back on the plane and they were amazing even the next day. Definitely not the case with Georgetown cupcakes.

There was a hit of a line up and it was super busy (totally expected). The cupcakes were delicious but a little pricey for the size and the employees were very pleasant (just wanted to serve and move on). Also they need another door for exit as myself and 4 other people were mixed in with the order pickup line up. For such a small place tables outside would be nice too.

I got there around 6 or 7 pm, and it didn't take too long to wait in line.
Service was nice and smooth, and it offers a great variety of favors you can choose. Frosty is a bit too sweet but tasty overall.

pretty nice and cute cupcakes.

pretty nice and cute cupcakes.
But there were so many people!!!!! I had to wait almost 40 minutes on weekend. The menu is different everyday, you should be check it.
Sadly I know after long waiting, they have an app. You can order using their app before 2 days and just get your cupcakes without waiting. I will use the app next time.
Also the cupcake box is not strong. I moved very carefully but it broke.

Georgetown cupcakes is a super cute place - pretty store front and delicious cupcake displays right when you walk in. The icing choices are what set this cupcake shop apart for me. The gourmet descriptions make it difficult to choose. It's best to go in the middle of the work day if possible and avoid during tourist season as this place is a magnet for them. Follow them on twitter for featured flavors.

I ve only had the cupcakes from here, so I can t vouch for the coffee or other menu items. But the cupcakes are honestly just okay. They re not bad; if you brought them to a party or something, I think the guests would be satisfied. But they re small, really overpriced, and (in my opinion), definitely not worthy of the hype. I d recommend Baked and Wired instead. They have bigger cupcakes and better icing and flavors for the same price. Maybe go to Georgetown Cupcake once if you live in DC to say you ve done it. But if you re visiting and only have time for one, try a different cupcake shop in Georgetown.
