I LOVE TO BE POPULAR AND THE FLAVOR OF THE CUP CAKES IS UNIQUE
Very long line for very small, expensive but ordinary-tasting, beautifully decorated cupcakes.
I just went to this store and it was closed. There was a blond girl that works there telling everyone that they were close. We told her that we were tourist, and ask if there was any possibility that we could buy some cupcakes, she said that they were closed that they open tomorrow. To that point everything was fine, but then this person told us to go to our own town to buy cupcakes. She was so rude, not professional at all. Now I will definitely not comeback to this store thanks to her bad attitude.
I was late to the party because I hate standing in line and they always have a lonnnng line. So I decided to order them online and have it delivered. They are really good and flavorful! Would have preferred them less sweet but it's ok.
The place, a physical place, is small. There is usually a queue, but the wait is worth it! Also you can buy a coffee and enjoy while walking through Georgetown which is a beautiful place! RECOMMENDED to combine it with other activities
Super duper cupcake place!! I just loved the variety they had, and since it's not a huge cupcake, one can try several :)
They had a queue, which usually means good quality! The service was quick. They also have a small seating area, where you may find a place by sheer luck.
They have coffee too! So a great place to go to if you are in DC. And once you are there don't settle for one or 2, have a box. With cute packaging, they also make for a great gift.
Across the street, if you keep going you will find a great water body. It's the river that you can see from K Street..sorry I don't know the name of that spot..but a lot of tourists and students from Georgetown University hang out there.
So treat yourself to a small picnic in a nice weather!!
Food: Made me a cake person!
Price: Good
Customer Service: Friendly and funny
Environment: Small and crowded
Would Return: Wherever the line is less than 30 people
Pre-order cupcakes then pick up. You still will get the experience. Small retail outlet with limited seating.
Waited in line for half hour but it s worth it. I was amazed by the number of varieties of cupcakes they offer. We took an assorted box and I loved the purple lemon flavoured cupcake. Must visit if you are in that area. It s a small place in a prime location!
Very picturesque city, excellent for walking and enjoying its views.
I love your program I keep watching it until 3 in the morning I never miss it
I would love to come to Buenos Aires Argentina
Regards
Nothing to rave loaded with sugar no nutritional value
Our firm put in an order a week in advance of a work function. On the day of the event the cupcakes were not here. We had to contact them, but they said they were delayed due to unexpected high order demand -and then they didn't even show up or bother to call us back. We did get a refund after the fiasco, but were left unimpressed with the customer service. I do not recommend them for large events.
Georgetown cupcake absolutely live up to the hype. They make some of my favorite things I've ever put in my mouth.
Too long of a wait and as soon as we enter the shop we saw a nasty cockroach. First and last time getting cupcakes from this very famous shop.
First off, these are the best cupcakes of my life. My girlfriend and I got 6 cupcakes. We bought chocolate vanilla, rainbow, mocha chocolate chip cheesecake (my personal favorite), salted Carmel, chocolate chip peanut butter swirl, and milk chocolate birthday cake. Every single one was amazing, the cake was moist, and the frosting was simply delicious. We went on a Wednesday afternoon and was in and out in 15 mins, but honestly I wouldn't mind waiting in a long line for these cupcakes. We read several reviews and many said to try Baked and Wired instead. We tried both and needless to say Georgetown cupcakes won by a landslide. They simply had way more flavor and they were more like a cupcake than a muffin with frosting on it like Baked and Wired. If I could give 10 stars I would. Everyone needs to try these.
Line isnt really worth the small $3 cupcake, but i had to try vegan option
Taste and variety were decent. No flavors were really daring or unique. Pricing for the size is way off. I will not go back, but happy to go the one time. My biggest complaint was the complete lack of organization and no room to order and get your order. There is very little room and customers kept getting yelled at for being in a "restricted seating area"...which was kind of silly! Customers were having to either leave the restaurant before getting their order and fighting to get back in or squishing together with strangers. The bakery staff could've had one person hand out single orders (without boxing them up) and another box up larger orders to streamline it all. We ordered 3 and went outside and took out our cakes and threw the box away... we didn't need all the fanfare of the package.
The city is beautiful, a bit sweet but it's delicious, the business is super good
The lines are ridiculous. I'm convinced it's like that at both locations. Sad because I really love their cupcakes
Friendly staff but you will be waiting for a too much time but it deserves since the cupcakes very delicious and special
Update after 5 months:
It was very disappointed and disgusting when I saw blonde or white hair in the middle of the cream
Has become a tourist trap. I don't think it is worth the wait. I prefer Baked & Wired a few blocks away.
Omg I would gain 50lbs pounds working here!!! Everything was so good no GREAT. Made it worth the 75 mile trip!!!
I wish they had a bigger shop, because I stood in line outside in the cold for about 2 hours to get my cupcakes (we were on vacation so we had time to blow)... but dang it, it was still worth it. I live in Savannah, GA and order these cupcakes all the time. These are quite possibly the best cupcakes I ve ever had.
The line maybe long but this place is part of Georgetown. Great for birthday parties, open houses or just a dessert for the house. A+
I don't get it.
I don't get why this is a thing.
I love cupcakes more than anyone should but I could have made these myself at home and gotten the exact same level of quality. That way I could have saved myself the long wait and the crazy line. Don't get me wrong they were ok, nothing wrong with them, but jeez why would I wait in a line like that when cake at starbucks is better.
NOT WORTH THE WAIT.
I was so excited to pay this place a visit after it was recommended by a co-worker. I was even more excited after seeing the long line outside of the door. After waiting in line for 20-25 minutes, I finally made it to the register to place my order for 6 specialty cupcakes which cost me 20$. The cupcakes looked delicious and the reviews were awesome so I concluded that it was worth the price. After arriving home, I opened the box hoping to have the same experience as everyone else; however, that wasn t the case. Out of 6 cupcakes, only one (strawberry) was moist. The other 5 were dry and tasted as if they had been sitting for days. I was very disappointed. The presentation and icing is great, but the cupcake itself was not. I ve had better cupcakes from Wegmans. I m skeptical about paying another visit, but I d reccomend eating the cupcakes there so that any discrepancies can be handled on the spot.
Tried to call to see if they had vegan options but no answer. Saw in store they had vegan cupcakes but then told they were display only. I am not a business owner myself but it appears a bit irrational to display something you do not have! Unfortunately, cashier was not at all sympathetic and borderline rude. I have heard great things about these cupcakes but I m not too inspired by these experiences, particularly with the long outdoor lines and dirty bathrooms. Not trying to be rude but please consider adjusting display policy, improving communication, and cleanliness. Hopefully it ll be better next time!
Customer service was not great. The building is small and when entering the worker was very rude. Instead of requesting that we move out of the doorway she demanded that we stand outside. Upon entering the building again we watched her rudely hand out coffee to another customer. Out of six people in my party, I choose not to purchase anything based off of the attitude that she displayed.
Zero stars for delivery - look at the photo! Melted, toppled over, a huge mess! Had to select at least 1 star and that's the only reason they got it! And they won't answer the phone!
The cup cake is pretty good and tasty. The long queue outside the shop verified it.
Bought my mom a dozen of red velvet cupcakes for her Birthday, she absolutely loved them. Hands down the best cupcakes I have ever had in my life. The boxes they send them in are unique also.
My girlfriend wanted to go and I thought it was lame, but I was wrong it was worth the wait
We arrived before 11 am and there was no waiting. Cuppies were excellent with light cakes & decadent icing perfectly sweetened with a perfect amount atop each cake. Service was friendly & helpful, eating area clean.
I am so disappointed the fact I drove all the way from Alexandria to DC to pick up GT Cupcake for Virginia Hospital Center nurses to surprise them with cupcakes. Upon arrival I was told it has to be order online or Ubereat. I totally understand regarding about COVID-19 but, I called the day before and no one answered my phone calls. I am 9 months pregnant and, I am due in 2 weeks and I just want to say thank you to all nurse who have been take care of me for the past 6 month and other pregnant with in this penedomic.
I drove 2 hours to the Georgetown location and will never return. I visited the website before visiting to check on changes due to COVID and to my surprise no restrictions Monday through Friday. However, upon my arrival I was instructed to order online as the store was closed for in person purchasing. I ordered the assortment birthday cupcakes for my sister s 50th birthday. When we got home I was sadden to receive 3 yellow cupcakes and the rest chocolate. Also, the cupcakes tasted a few days old and were plain with no celebration. Very disappointed I couldn t hand pick my cupcakes, I probably would have picked some fresh ones. Will not be returning. The cupcakery in silver spring has delicious cupcakes everyday, with beautiful decorations for all events.
Place was fast! Line out the door but it moved so fast! Best cupcakes ever
friendly workers, great cupcakes, be prepared to wait
Wow this place lives up to the hype I'm more than impress. This is by far the best cupcake I've ever had. Staff was courteous knowledgeable and very professional I love it, I'm coming back for more the next time i'm in the area. Well done I wouldn't forget this experience.
The cupcakes are great. I just got there so late they had run out of both the flavors I wanted.
Rated it a 5 based o. Reputation alone I couldn't stand in the line wrapped outside the building
Get there early
Excellent cupcakes, well worth the wait. They have pre order, which can allow you to avoid the line, but you have to place the order a day ahead.
This is a cute (busy) little cupcake shop. The staff was very friendly & I ordered the Peanut Butter Fudge cupcake & it was phenomenal! Very good, light icing on top, fudge middle, and moist cake. Worth the $3.25 price tag. When I went it wasn't too crowded, there were only a few people ahead of me so I didn't think it would take very long. For some reason I did have to wait for about 10 minutes just for one cupcake! The people ahead of me did not order very many and I was confused as to why it took so long to get mine, but that's really the only problem I had.
I would drive 4 hours to DC just for these cupcakes. They are the best cupcakes I've ever had. A little pricey but worth every penny. The way they make their icing is amazing. When looking at their menu online, it looks like they're cupcake flavors change from day to day. Line was out the door but moved quickly. A little tough to find parking, we ended up parking on one of the side streets and walking.
The service is terrible! Placed an order 6 hours ago. Had to wait in line for an hour even though I placed for pick up. And then they were out of what I ordered. Terrible service.
Great cupcakes that change from day to day. If you want good seasonal flavors this is the spot to hit up.
Still my favorite local cupcake. It's worth the line and it's worth making a trip into Georgetown for. They're a special treat.
the reputation is true, the best cupcakes you'll ever eat in your life. If you're willing to wait in line to get to them ha, they're really worth it.
You need to experience this yummy place! The cupcakes are super moist, frosting is creamy...all around super yummy cupcakes! You will want some for later too! Long lines because they are that good!
Amazing atmosphere, delicious cupcakes! It was the 1st time I had been and I was not disappointed at all. A bit pricey but definitely worth it!
First time ordering from this bakery. I had a custom made Devils food cake with chocolate frosting made for my birthday. The cake was delicious.
Because the frosting were to fudge-like, the cupcakes weren't moist, and when I ordered the mint chocolate you couldn't taste the mint.
The customer service is subpar at best. I visited at the opening hour and there was already a line inside. The staff did not manage the line at all and the bakery is very small. Definitely a tourist destination and with that reputation you would think the customer service would be exceptional. It is not. With only two registers it took nearly 20 minutes for me to get one cupcake. When I ordered a key lime cupcake (3.50 per cupcake and .50 for a cupcake box otherwise they just give it to you on a napkin) it was really dry and not very flavorful (although the icing was delicious). I would say don t believe the hype and try some other great bakeries in the area.
The red velvet cupcake is delicious, they're just kind of small for the price.
Meh. Really awful customer service. Dismissive attitudes toward clients. Not a particularly welcoming environment. So crowded that it feels like a safety hazard. If there was ever an emergency people could not all leave in a timely manner.
Telling clients that the only seating area is off limits is pretty strange. There are so many people waiting for their orders because of how slow the service is that the only logical place to wait on a 40 degree day is the seated area. And yet one is ushered away for no apparent reason.
Seems like a lot of hype. Not sure if the desserts live up to it. I left.
We only waited about 15 minutes at 3:00 on a dreary Sunday. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The line moved quickly. The cupcakes were phenomenal.
A bit expensive, but worth trying in you are in the area. Waiting Que can be long.
Long line moved quickly due to systematic procedures and teamwork among staff!!! Thanks, GC!!!
I step into a busy looking shop with workers preparing bags of cupcakes. A young lady curtly informed me that they didn t open until 10 am and I had to leave. It was 9:56.
Never did try their cupcakes, but Baked & Wired was delicious.
They offer very diverse flavors and the presentation of cupcake is really pretty. The line can be really long, but they also take orders online. However, their cupcake can be a little too sweet.
Came tryna be on the TV show cameras wasnt there.
good cupcakes tho got 2 for me and 3 to go for my gurl, she be eatin
