I work in Human Resources for a healthcare facilit...

I work in Human Resources for a healthcare facility and wanted to surprise our clinical staff with cupcakes as just a small appreciation for the hard work that they have done helping with our patients during this COVID-19 pandemic. I placed an order for 2 dozen cupcakes on 10/09/20 with Georgetown Cupcakes for an expected Delivery of 10/15/20 (A Thursday). I noticed that there wasn't an option on the website to assign an AM delivery. Our staff has a shorter work day on Thursdays and leaves at 1:30pm.

So, I called the businesses dedicated shipping toll free number and asked the representative almost verbatim these words: "Will these deliver on Thursday Morning?" The representative answered, "Yes." So, I'm thinking great! I can't wait to see the surprised look on our team's faces.

The problems snowballed from there. Remember, I ordered these on 10/09. I called around the 12th to confirm the delivery. Still, got a greenlight that everything was good to go. Then I called on the 14th and emailed on the 14th (which I have a copy of) requesting a tracking number. They said I should receive it by 5pm. I never received it. I had to follow-up with an email in the morning on the DAY OF DELIVERY to get the tracking number.

The tracking from Fedex reads a 4:30pm delivery??? So, of course, I reach out to FedEx to confirm if that information is true. They say, yes. Then I contact Georgetown Cupcakes trying to understand why the delivery for a perishable item that I requested an AM delivery for would be delivered at the end of the business day? They tell me you have to pay an extra fee. I'm like, "Why didn't someone tell me that when I requested the AM delivery???" The only thing I was told was that everything was fine and when I specifically asked that the cupcakes would deliver in the morning, The representative told me "Yes."

Do you think I care about a nominal delivery fee after paying $100+ for 2 dozen cupcakes??? Think about that. That was the worst answer I've heard. Mind you, you can't choose that option on the website. Our facility has a sizeable budget for these purchases. I would have gladly paid whatever fee necessary to be sure the cupcakes arrived in a timely manner for our staff. However, I was NOT told there would be a fee at the time I asked if they would deliver in the morning.

Completely unacceptable. I requested a cancellation. They told me "No." Worst customer service ever. And our clinical staff deserved a nice treat and won't be receiving one. I will never order from this company again and be sure to tell our partners of our experience and to avoid this place at all costs.

There's always a long line in the store. It moves fast but sometimes not realky nice on cold weather. The cupcake was popular because of the TV show DC cupcake. I tried their signature red velvet once, it was good, and their vanilla birthday - too sweet. It will be a treat for special ocassion, but not really for daily consumption.

Extremely displeased! Placed an order on 3/8 for delivery on 3/16 (TODAY), between 10am-1pm. It is now 2:30pm, the cupcakes have NOT been delivered, and no one will answer the phone at either the Georgetown or Bethesda locations.

If you can time it right and show up before the massive line, then Georgetown Cupcakes is certainly worth it! They have a secret cupcake of the day that they give to the first 100 customers that order it and it is always yummy. PS. If you put in a to-go order you can skip the line before the store opens.

Placed my order of 34 cupcakes for a specific date because it was a graduation party. When the cupcakes were deliver not only they brought 1 box (12 cupcakes) but the box had a smashed cup cake. I call and all they say was that they will deliver the other box the next day, this was very upsetting because the graduation party was not the next day. This is the last time I order. THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE IN THE PRINCE WILLIAM AREA CONFECTIONS CUPCAKE ARE SO MUCH BETTER AND THE SERVICE IS GREAT! The only reason I order here was the delivery option

The recipes of the grandmother

The recipes of the grandmother
Inspired by the recipes of the grandmother, two creative sisters of the Cupcake Cam Live series and DC Cupcakes in TLC, founded in Georgetown Cupcakes, this pastry shop exclusively dedicated to the sale of artistically decorated mini cakes on its top in infinite forms; Upon entering the first thing that catches your eye is the huge showcase with the variety of Cupcakes, behind all this is the kitchen, where it shows how these mini cakes are prepared, their staff decorates them one by one, it is really a job intense; That is why the price of each cupcake is at $ 3.50 plus taxes.
The packaging is a very pretty pink box, there is also the alternative to enjoy them in the same place, but the space is quite small but with a view of the Main St, very nice

I am so disappointed with my order today. We arrived for our 3pm pick-up and had to wait for over 50 minutes for our order which was ordered and paid for online. The thing of it is, Georgetown Cupcake tells you when your order will be ready. My boyfriend went in to pickup the cup cakes and was repeatedly skipped over as several customers came and went. Then finally after waiting and waiting, he was that told they were out of one of our selections. The cupcakes are delicious so I tried to overlook the pick-up experience and look forward to enjoying these tasty treats. When we arrived home I realized that the box of cupcakes were inserted upside down and all of my cupcakes were and one giant mound. We immediately reached out to the store but had to leave a voicemail. I hope I manager returns my call.

Every morning, from 10 am onwards, while stocks last, the "secret cupcake" is given to the "taste of the day". The restaurant is small but very pretty and is located in a beautiful area of Washington, D.C .; in addition to cupcakes you can also order drinks (coffee, cappuccino, tea, etc).
The cost of a single cupcake is around $ 3.50.

Well, the only thing I didn't like about visiting Georgetown Cupcakes was waiting out in the heat because they have only one person at the register. The cupcakes were delicious, especially the caramel salted chocolate. TIP ;) If you're traveling take these with you, you'll enjoy your in-flight experience and TSA officers will be nice to you.

Visiting from MD, I was super excited to go to Georgetown Cupcake for the first time. I wasn't disappointed! Cupcakes were moist and the flavors were delicious! Cashier was very friendly and helpful, which was appreciated! And I love the pink boxes!

Came here three times in one day

Came here three times in one day
Ten people waiting outside the store in my fist visit, thought that I can come back later, but found around twenty that when I returned. I gave up and left in the third visit when the line was over thirty outside the store!

Returned half year later in hot summer while not much people waiting in the line and had a try finally. A bit too sweet for me~

Iv been coming here all the time but this place has lost my interest. They are available for Uber eats but just not for pickup. I can t place an order online and just pick it up like every Uber eats person does. I didn t see a difference in that. I understand their policy is Uber eats can pick it up and deliver but a normal person can t place a order and pick it up. There s a table at the door where the Uber eats people are picking up their orders, just like that, we should be allowed to pick up the order as well.

It's a cupcake people. A cake in a cup. They are good but not as good as waiting in line to pay WAY too much for sugar and flour would make you think they were. Go to a local bakery. Stop supporting inflated pricing of baked good for no other reason than they were on tv.

It's worth stopping by to see what the fuss is about. In my opinon, the cupcakes are good but not out of this world. You can find the same quality at other cupcake bakeries. It was, however, a trip highlight for others in my group. The wait did get a bit tedious but the staff behind the counter were very quick, and the tables inside were clean despite the high rate of customer turnover.

I had an absolutely horrible experience ordering from Georgetown. It would take a novel to list all of the issues I encountered. After an uphill battle of getting my order placed, I asked for photos (as my orders were being sent out as gifts) and they did not send me anything.
The ONLY positive thing I can say about my experience, is that they had a very fast turn around time. Unfortunately, I have no idea if they sent what I asked for.

My husband and I have stopped here several times, and have taken visitors as well. Sometimes there's a long line and sometimes not, depending on the day. But every time the employees have been courteous and helpful. Part of the reason for the lines outside, is that there isn't much space inside for people to stand, but it's all part of the fun of it, and the line goes quickly. Every cupcake we've eaten here has been fantastic, and we've tried other places. I wonder if the times people haven't liked them if it's because the sisters aren't actually at this location all the time like in the early days, and aren't doing the baking? My favorite so far is the cherry blossom, which is a monthly special, but also love the salted caramel, Boston Creme and coconut. No complaints, the cupcake always taste wonderful and looks perfect. You can't please everyone, but I do think they try!

The lava fudge cupcake was definitely worth the 45 minute wait in line!!! I normally don't like cupcakes, so that's saying somethin!! The only reason why I am not going this place 5 stars is because the employees weren't too friendly. Granted, they work hard to serve endless lines of people...but they still could be more appreciative and kind to these loyal guests.

As a cupcake fanatic I was so psyched to finally try Georgetown Cupcake, but sadly the product and experience did not live up to the hype. I ordered the gluten free chocolate cupcake, which was extremely dry (expect for the lava center). Contrary to what you may think, there are some killer gluten free cupcakes out there! On a scale from 1 to 10, I'd give it a 4. They also put my cupcake in a tiny paper bag, so by the time I reached my destination the icing had rolled off the top of the cake. But the biggest disappointment was the overall experience. I trekked by foot to Georgetown, and was very disappointed that the restrooms were filthy. There was someone painstakingly putting beautiful flowers on each table - I wish they had taken a fraction of that time to clean & stock the restroom. I would have overlooked the restroom issue if the cupcake had been stellar. I wanted to love this place so bad, but next time I will take my money and business to Sprinkles.
