Brought out vehicle to be fixed in the subaru service department. Picked it up 5 days later on a saturday. On our way home the check engine light turned back on. Brought it back that following monday. They said they bent one of the parts in it. It is now saturday again and has still not been fixed yet. Poor service and poor communication. Go to a real mechanic.

The, service rep Shawn Rae was very professional, however this is where it begins too fail. You had my car for a week. Apparently it was completed on Friday, 3/22 but I was not notified. I received an invoice via text for a front end alignment which had discrepancies from what I was quoted. I responded via return twice and inquired about the difference with no response. During this time I received no update as to the status of my car. I had to call on 3-26 to get an update. My service rep indicated the car was ready and he would tale care of the discrepancy on the invoice which he did. You have a serious disconnect with communication about vehicle status Also, how many surveys do you have to send out? This is the third I received.
Everything went smooth, quick, and easy buying my new silverado! I recommend talking to Elijah he was very knowledgable and easy to talk to through everything.
Where to begin... I purchased a 2011 kia. Sorento brand new in 2011 from gary Lang it nowhas 84k miles. On it it has broken down 4 times and towed twice back to gary Lang I was informed it is now out of warranty and was quoted $330 to repair it whenthat didn't work the. Bill went up to $630 without approval I have since contacted the corporate office and have been waiting four days for a phone call now that my car is done after over two weeks in the shop I may be heading right over to a Chevy dealer because I don't want to deal with the service department ever again!!
Passing by I decided to stop and see if I could get a Oil change.I pulled up to the door and blew my horn. The door opened and Matt Garcia asked what can he do for us. I asked if there is a chance to get an oil change. No problem Matt said. With that Matt took down the needed information and told us we could go to the waiting room. There is coffee, tea, hot coco, water, and said, help yourself. He asked if we have time for a car wash. It should only take a few minutes. He would come and get us when it is done. Had a problem with my truck last month and brought it into Gary Lang and I immediately was greeted by Chris Marulli, who is now the only person I ll ever bring my truck to. Was able to work with me and get me situated that day after going to many other people to try and work with my truck. Always called me whenever he found something out and goes above and beyond for his customers.

My son traveled from out of state to buy a car after making a $500 deposit. One of the salesmen decided to sell the car to another customer in the showroom while my son was having it inspected at a nearby dealership, and refused to honor the deposit made on the car. The sales staff never gave him an opportunity to purchase the car after he had it inspected, and simply stated that the car was sold. I found this to be very dishonest and unprofessional, and I would never consider purchasing a car from Gary Lang Auto group in the future.
Coming into Garylang as a first time customer, it was a very smooth experience. I was able to look at all the different vehicles that matched my budget, and then test drive all the different types I liked. Elijah made the whole experience less stressful with his patience and cool demeanour. When the original number came out for the vehicle i wanted, I wasn't happy with it. Elijah said he would be right back, and when he returned with a new number and a couple different options...it was a done deal. Not professional. Do not believe what they tell you. No follow through. My issues are multiple. I even told them I would consider not sharing my frustrations if they followed through with their additional promises but as I suspected they did not. I give multiple chances and they failed. It started with a purchase that I made easy for them. I sent them all required information upfront and said I would be there just before closing or at closing and needed to get in and out as I was coming from an hour away. Again.. I had everything ready. It should have been printed out and out the door. I had sent plates registration, insurance and my license. Sign and out in 5 minutes. I did not need them to even go over the paperwork. Once in the office it took me 5 minutes to sign but they made me wait until 10:30! Inexcusable. Prior to that I had asked about the rate they were charging and I was told by my sales person that it was the buy rate. I came to learn later that they were up-charging me 1%. Now I do not begrudge someone from making money on me but do not blatantly lie to me! I am in finance so I get it. But I was lied to and said that was buy rate. I was not happy with the rate and would have discussed this had I not been lied to and handled differently. Oh.. I found out I was lied to at 10:20PM as I will remind you I was dropped off to pick up a car at 9PM. I could have made my decision or handled differently a couple hours before. I expressed my frustrations to their lip serviced customer service manager Kimberly Neiss who acted like she cared. WHen joking she even said she would not send me a CSI score card as I was politely expressing me frustration with hurrying to get there out of respect for their time but they disrespected mine. Again, an hour and a half to do something that takes 5 minutes if the paperwork was ready as I had asked and was told is crazy. When asked if this luxury car had a second set of keys (which cost around $300) to get, I was told they would call the former owner in the AM first thing and get right back to me! Guess what.. NO CALL. I suspected the worst but hoped for people of their word. Did not happen. As if this was not bad enough, The car was shown at night and I was hurried as they were closing and I attempted to get out quickly. (Partly my fault) but a couple days later I realized that an All Wheel Drive vehicle that I purchased had 2 tires put on it and they were cheap mismatched tires. That is a no no on All Wheel drive cars. They clearly took the cheap route and skimped on tires. It drove rough and I have to purchase tires to make it a matching set. So after all this I called them days later giving them a few days to retrieve the keys and follow up as I suspected they were on top of (Insert sarcasm). It took a couple days and I did get a message. I had called back and now 4 more days later I still do not have a follow up. It has been 2 weeks or more and nothing! Unfortunately I must say lower your expectations or go elsewhere! There are plenty of places that one can do business with under honest and straight forward terms. I do not like being lied to, misled, and things done incorrectly on corrections like mismatched tires. Do it right or don't do it.
The sales man Levi and the finanace manager Andrew at Gary Lang are the best in the industry! They did everything they could to get me a loan on my 2010 f250. It was a challenge to get financing and after 8 hours or more of back and forth with the banks they got me my dream truck! I will always come to Gary Lang and would recommend everyone to come here!
***BUYER BEWARE***My wife purchased a brand new car with GARY LANG and since day one of purchase this car has had nothing but problems, I was promised by the service manager all issues would be rectified and they have not!!! Her car has now been in to service 5-7 times...THEY SOLD HER A LEMON... DO NOT PURCHASE A CAR WITH GARY LANG CHEVY OR ANY OTHER GARY LANG...they do not keep there word.

I never in a million would have ever thought buying a car would be a easy and pleasant experience but thanks to Kevin Curtis I was. He is easily the best salesman I've dealt with to date on any level. This was my first new car buying experience and I couldn't be happier! I submitted a request for a Subaru XV Crosstrek online. The next morning I had a reply in my inbox from Curtis. I let him know what I was looking for, how much I wanted to pay, what I had to trade-in and how much I wanted for it. He forwarded my info to Chris and within the hour I was on a test drive. Once I made up my mind that this was the car I wanted it was time to talk numbers. This went surprisingly smooth. There was a little back and forth negotiating, as you'd expect, but in the end I feel like I got a good deal. Chris was nice and personable throughout the entire process. The original car we were negotiating on ended up not being available, not Chris' fault. A little frustrating at the time but it ended up being a good thing. Chris quickly found me a Premium model Crosstrek that was coming directly from Subaru and had it rerouted to McHenry. This was a huge bonus for me! I was able to get the car I wanted and then customize it with the accessories and options I preferred. A few days later I came to pick up my first new car. Fresh off the truck and exactly the way I wanted it. Financing was a breeze. In fact, Ozzie was able to get me a lower rate than I was originally expecting. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my experience at Gary Lang Auto Group. Obviously I can't speak about the domestic or used departments but the guys in the imports department are outstanding! Chris will be my recommendation to anyone looking for a new car.
UPDATE (8/4/2016) I just took delivery of my second new vehicle from Gary Lang. This experience was just as good as the first! As long as Gary Lang keeps treating my wife and me right, I will continue recommending them to family and friends and leaving theses 5 star reviews.
So here we go: About 3 years ago I purchased a Subaru Crosstrek from a new salesman, Chris Ims. This time around my wife and I decided we wanted to lease our vehicles since we're always wanting the next best thing. I knew right away that we would be getting our next vehicles from Gary Lang. She wanted a Subaru, I wanted a Chevy. Perfect! I was bummed when we got there and learned that Chris had moved over to the financing team and now wouldn't be able to help us with the first part of the process. But then we met Kamil. Kamil was new to the sales team and was eager to step in and take over for Chris. We did test drives, negotiations, renegotiations... typical car buying stuff before deciding on the vehicles we wanted. A new Subaru Forester for her and a Chevy Colorado for me. Being that Kamil was new to the company, he didn't have all the answers right away and in some cases, I knew more than he did ;) I should point out that I was buying a Chevy from the imports side because we were also buying a Subaru and only wanted to deal with one salesman. With that being said, he was very straightforward with us and handled every conversation and negotiation with tact. Because of us purchasing vehicles from two different car makers, Kamil ran back and forth from building to building probably 15 times during the whole process. Lots of steps on his FitBit! Now, as I mentioned previously, we decided to lease these vehicles. There is a lot of confusing information out there about leasing. It is at this point that Ryan Miller stepped in to help explain things a little better. Not just better, but in a way that I could understand which made me feel comfortable moving forward with the deals. Financing was a breeze, thanks to our old friend, Chris Ims, who was very patient with us and our very tired baby running around his office.
I know there are dealerships out there with some pretty bad reviews, even this one has some. To me it just comes down to having realistic expectations and trust. Maybe you don't get that everywhere but I feel like you do here.

When we went in last week to test drive a few vehicles there were no hassles or unnecessary delays. Kevin and Tim from the sales team were able to quickly provide prices for a handful of lease options. There was no pressure to immediately sign. Kevin followed up with us a few days later and then prepared everything for our arrival at the dealership which made a speedy transaction. We have had quite a few rough experiences at other dealers in the area and were pleasantly surprised by how easy and enjoyable this car buying experience was. We look forward to returning to Gary Lang and working with Kevin again!
JP at the service desk was a huge help. He went above and beyond to explain to me (someone who doesn't know much about cars) what was wrong and gave an honest and objective opinion on how to proceed. I've been hunting for a car for a really long year and found my car on the Carfax website. From the moment we walked through the door, to the trip over to meet Derek in the financing department, the entire staff was polite, helpful & friendly. This was my very first car and Bill made my experience a breeze. He did not try pressure me to buy something I did not want and that made my hour trip worth it. If there's ever an issue with my car, I don't mind driving the hour back. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking.
RUN AWAY FROM HERE> sold us a car 8995.00 with the engine light off just long enough for us to drive her off the lot. engine light on one day later. 6 times of bringing her back to the service to have them fix the issue.. (our mechanic of 18+ years knew the problem the second time that light went on. she needed valve job. ) & 6 times i get her back & the engine light comes back on. so experience a good teacher. they never fixed the problem & they werent going to. so finally they tell me what my mechanic knew all along.. to get to the valve job the head has to come off.. my mechanic cost 2-3000$. theyre service dept.. same job 5-6000$.. they bill out at whopping 156.00 / hour! & they are not going to cover this for me.. but want to give me some options.. JOKE> of course heres the upsell. lucky to get 1/3 of what i owe on the car for a trade in.. yeah hand me a shovel.. so u can add what i owe on this one to the next one. no thanks. &given they sold her to me like this the most they might be able to take off if i had it serviced there is 15%.. so all in all gary lang did NOTHING for me. nice as pie. but NOTHING. buyer beware INDEED
Everyone at Gary Lang was very helpful! They spend a lot of time showing us the vehicle that we wanted, which was a Subaru Crosstrek. The price was very fair. They spent a lot of time showing us how to use all the features of the car after we bought it. They also helped tremendously with all of the paperwork. I originally worked with Michelle, who communicated very quickly with me by email and phone, but when we came to the dealership, everyone else was just as willing to help us.

Not a pleasant experience. I had just started my car search and stopped here because it was close and I always hear their annoying adds on the radio. I just wanted to see what was in the feild for my price range. I was no where near ready to just buy a car. And holy cow, SUPER PUSHY PEOPLE. The guy treated the decision as if it was like just buying a shirt. I have more factors than just me on deciding on a car. He was trying to take advantage of me (I'm a young female that honestly doesn't know a lot about cars) and pressure me into a 6 year decesion. I don't know how many ways I tried telling him no he would not just let me leave. I felt trapped there. Such a waste of 2 hours I will never get back. I didnt even get to complete the rest of my errands, like I had mentioned to him I was trying to get back to, because I was kept there so late. The whole evening was a frustrating fail. Will never recommend this place to anyone. I've found way better deals on cars at a lot of other dealerships.
I do not purchase my vehicles at Gary Lang because their distrust has been passed along my family and friends for years. However I have tried to get my vehicle serviced at Gary Lang before as well as my parents.(because its very close) Their service department is terrible. Rude staff, terrible communication and overall a place I would NEVER recommend to buy or service a car at Gary Lang.

The customer service Representative was awesome. He went about and beyond to take care of the warranty recall on my GMC. Only holding back a star because the customer service rep. Had to argue with the service mechanic to complete the full recall. And the mechanic refused to replace the trunk lid cacciatore! Everyone else five stars!!

I purchased a certified preowned car from this dealership yesterday. We drove the car without any hassle to buy 1 week prior. Bill was our salesperson and he was extremely knowledgeable and easy to deal with. After driving several other vehicles at other dealerships, we decided to buy here. Bill and Mark [finance ] were both very professional, wore masks when appropriate and best of all we were in and out with the transaction in about an hour and a half. Love my car and I highly recommend.

We had been looking for a great truck online for awhile. We had found a few we really liked, and took a road trip from Iowa to SE Wisconsin to see family, and scheduled appointments to see 5 trucks. The first was scheduled here. They called back the next morning to confirm our appointment for 10 am. I asked if the truck was still available they said yes. We get there and they don't even know the 2 people we spoke to on the phone, and the girl Deanna said she will check on the truck. She came back and said it sold at 10:30 last night. We were angry. We left. She called me as we were leaving and said she had another one. I said I did not come here for that. We were writing a check for a truck. It was unreal how all this played out. We would never buy a vehicle here.
We tried working with them and the sales people claimed their pricing and discounts online was a lie. This is false advertising. I strongly suggest not buying from here. The sales person continued to claim that I didnt know how to read or do math when I proved him wrong.
