Keith in the service department went above and beyond. Being a mom with an infant I accidentally brought my car in for service on the wrong day. Realizing I was on the verge of losing my mind Keith managed to fit into the schedule and have my car ready within a few hours. So thankful for him and the team!

3 weeks after driving the Jeep I bought at Garavel...

3 weeks after driving the Jeep I bought at Garavel I had to bring it in for engine trouble. Luckily then it was still under warantee and they fixed it...I thought. Then the starter engine failed. Then the whole engine again which they are taking apart now. This time the warantee is not applicable..unless they missed the cause and it's due to a manufacturer fault. Which is the case but they won't pay for all of engine to be replaced. Id not expected to pay anything for another's mistake. No loaner car either until last min.

I dealt with Maikel and he was the best salesperson we have met in a very long and arduous car search that led us to Jeep in Norwalk. We had been to a few other Jeep dealerships. We were treated with a lot of care and respect and given a lot of time and compassion and training on the car's features. We feel very lucky to have dealt with Maikel and will definitely get our next car from him. Mary in sales was also lovely and fun to work with and the woman at the front door greeting everyone was very sweet and happy to see you every time you came in. :)
Also, the refreshments are lovely!

My daughter took her 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited to Garavel on 12-7-16 for an oil change. As part of the service they did a safety checlk and advised her that she need her rear brakes replaced (pads & rotors). She called me and being suspicious since the vehicle only had 34,000 miles I had her take the vehicle to Midas who stated and showed her as well as offering photos that the rotors were like new. they did replace the pads for $207 but since I wasn't available to do them myself that was fine. Garavel had wanted an estimated $600 PLUS for their "repair". Reported to BBB who is currently investigating it but she absolutely felt she was being taken advantage of because she is a female whom they assumed would simply pay what they said.

I purchase a used car from Garavel Subaru of Norwalk on 8/22/2015. I had owned it for about 70 days, the warranty in CT was 60 days, and it was driven less than 1000 miles. On or around the 70th day the transmission went on the car. I contacted Gregg Catandella (service manager), and he told me he would look into it and get back to me. Gregg Catandella never called me back. So I went into the dealer a week later to speak to him (he was very rude and yelling at me). After yelling at me, he asked me to bring the car in to look at it. Several days later he called my wife yelling even though I gave him my cell phone. He was very rude to her, and told her it is no longer under warranty. He said they could fix it, but it would cost $3,900 dollars; the purchase price of the car was around $9,000.

We had initially brought our PT Cruiser to the Chrysler Dealer in Greenwich, with major disappointment poor customer service, they did nothing to check the vehicle and address our concerns, we had been told that the PT Cruiser needed a new transmission so of course we wanted it done correctly so we brought it to the dealer with little help from them.
We then had it towed to GARAVEL Chrysler in Norwalk which we should have done from the BEGINNING awesome experience from the moment we told the service department of our concerns they listened, investigated and found that it was a totally different issue that was causing the Cruiser not to function at the same time we were given a list of things that needed to be addressed.
Concerned with the cost they were able to tell us what needed priority and what could wait, we have since been doing the repairs in stages.
Keith has been great, with oriented exceptional customer service which you don't find much these days.
I would ABSOLUTELY recommend everyone to come to this dealer. THANK YOU Keith!!!!

Disappointing experience. Right when I thought I ...

Disappointing experience. Right when I thought I had finally found a straightforward car buying experience my expectations were brought back into check. I had a deal on a Thursday to buy a vehicle from Garavel. The initial visit was very low pressure and simple. They came forward with the exact numbers and were open to taking the price down further. It was also easy to get the added "accessories(IE Vin Etching)" taken off. I left with a literal handshake agreement with the sales manager and an appointment to pick up the vehicle that Saturday. They ran my credit(which I don't let anyone do unless a deal is in place) and contacted my insurance for the vehicle change. That Saturday afternoon the salesman even called to make sure I contacted Geico to verify the changes. Things changed when I got to the dealership and was told by the finance manager that the sales manager made a mistake with a tax credit. This error would make the final contract $1600 higher. The same sales manager who I made a deal with on Thursday came back in to renegotiate the deal. He offered to give me $1000 back so it would "only be a $600 difference" from the contract that we agreed on. Needless to say, I walked out. The whole situation seemed way to well-rehearsed and like it happens on a regular basis.

I should have known better than to get my hopes up and think that I finally found a reputable dealer. The kicker is that the finance manager told me that they knew of the issue that morning. So I rushed out of work and called Geico to change my insurance with them knowing the whole time that the deal was different than what was agreed on.

Note to car dealers: Just be honest and up front! A fair price and someone that is trustworthy is really all that most of us our seeking in a car buying experience. When you make a deal its expected that you honor that deal even if you are the one who made a mistake. If you can't honor the deal you made then at least let the customer know ahead of time.

We waited for at least one hour and half to get served. The greeter did a horrible job accommodating people in the waiting room. We went in at the same time with the other couple. The greeter left them getting served first because they went up to her and asked for a couple of times. Eventually we had to stand right by her and try to ask to be served. Someone finally grabbed us. However, this guy didn t seem to know much about the car and was giving us general information which was not helpful at all. We did some test driving and ended up leaving with some brochures... I wasn t going to write this bad review until we visited the other Jeep dealer shop in Fairfield. We went there at 7pm on a weekday and immediately was helped with an amazing sale who went through all details in the processing of building a new car.

Garavel Sales & Service area is very clean. Morning and afternoon service area always has a few goodies to snack on (including coffee and tea) as well as a charging station for your phone. The only suggestion I have would be if the car could be returned with a quick wash to freshen up "your ride". Great job guys, I'd definitely recommend you to friends & family.

As someone just getting into a Jeep, I still had a lot to learn when I first walked into Garavel in Norwalk. The options are endless and without the proper guide, it's easy to feel lost. I gotta say--I really lucked out to find Neal Bournique. Not only is Neal a great guy, he's super knowledgeable, easy-going, and delivered a level of service that I've never experienced at a car dealership before.

Being that we've had a rough winter my car has been in the shop more often than I care to say. A few weeks ago my car was getting repairs from some prior incident which consisted of a new tire sensor, new tires, etc. Just last weekend due to the negligence of theI-287 NY State Highway DOT my car encountered severe pot holes. I was trying to dodge one, and two other ones were in my path. Like land mines that I was trying to avoid I needed to to back onto I-95. Unfortunately my car was damaged by this holes of destruction. Keith knew how often my car had been in Garavel due to the heavy winter we've been having and helped me by working with me, and make it something that I could afford. Knowing that someone wants to work with my situation and encourages me to be a repeat and very satisfied customer!

My fiance tried going here looking to buy a new grand cherokee and the sales department was overly aggressive to the point we just looked at each other baffled and left. We decided to look elsewhere and he purchased a different brand all together. I didn't think it'd be bad to go back and decided for my car I would try to buy something used from them. The woman told me she'd call me back after 1.00pm one day then never called. A day or two later she sent an email blaming me and asking me what had happened. When I told her I no longer wanted to go after the car since there was no effort on her part, there was also no effort to keep me as a customer and I was just ignored. Very off putting place.

Immediately after posting my review, the dealership called me and apologized for my disappointment. They issued a goodwill check immediately and I received it within a week. They worked hard to satisfy me (after posting a review) and I am thankful for their efforts. As a result, I have updated my rating accordingly. The original review is below.

Mixed review, unfortunately. I had a good experience during the buying process, but we hit a snag that has me disappointed. This snag, along with the fact that they very sneakily added in a $189 charge for VIN etching that I didn't approve, has me hesitant to make another purchase from this dealership. The vehicle I purchased was advertised as a dual DVD system with two units and two screens, which allows my children in the 2nd row to watch a different movie than the children in the 3rd row. Unfortunately, on our trip home from the dealership, we discovered the lower DVD unit did not play and is not functioning. My local dealership quoted $700+labor to replace the unit. Obviously we're not going to do that, but had I known the second unit didn't work, I would have negotiated that into my pricing. I asked the dealership to consider a token gesture of $200 and they have refused. It is disappointing to say the least as I feel that's a reasonable request. In the end, I can say that my salesperson, "Wrangler Rob," was great and did everything I asked of him. The finance manager Carlos was pushy and awkward, but very knowledgeable. But, again, it's a bit shady how this played out and I would caution future buyers to be extraordinarily thorough with checking to make sure all features work as advertised prior to signing the dotted line. Lesson learned for me.

Had some trouble with the Service Department, they messed up the color for a simple order of plastic seat cover 3 times, left my pregnant wife waiting there for hours. Other than that we are happy with our '10 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Would definitely go back.

The place is a confused and disorganized zoo. I have gotten a ,"Can you come back when we are not swamped" answer three times this year. One cannot get a reasonable appointment for service, not even an oil change. Do not hold your breath for a loaner car, that's a foreign-car nicety only. Two weeks out to get an oil change? No customer parking. No one remembers your name or your concern, even when repeated inquiries for help are made. This is not just a Garavel-as-low-end-dealership concern, it is unfortunate that American car dealerships have poor customer service after point of sale. And poor is being kind to Garavel.

I came in to get an oil change without making an appointment (the website said that an appointment was not required). When I came in, Rob asked me if I had an appointment and I said that they website said I did not have to make one. Apparently, that was no longer true and the website hadn't been updated, but Rob took me right in. He was extremely nice and understanding about it. Overall great experience as a first time car owner.

Over the past decade, I have either financed or leased a few cars and I must say Maikel is, to be completely honest, the best sales person I've ever worked with. It's uncommon to find someone in sales at a dealership to be not only knowledgeable but also to be patient, listen to you carefully, be trustworthy, always look for your best interest, respond to phone calls/messages promptly and overall care for you as a client. I would definitely recommend Garavel Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram located in Westport, CT to all of my friends and family. I have been a customer for a year and always have a great experience when I go in for service. I am writing this review due to the great customer service that I experienced today, September 21, 2015. I received a recall notification for a part and was told to make appointment at my local dealership. I did make that appointment however, there was a mix-up of the dates and when I arrived this morning; there was no appointment. Being the customer-centric dealership that they are; they took me anyway (with a smile) and actually completed the job faster so I was able to get to work earlier. They really considered my time and need to get to work, SO THANK YOU!!!

I was referred to Garavel by a friend who had previously purchased two vehicles from this dealer. Despite trusting in my friends opinion I was still very hesitant. When I think of car salesman I think of hagglers, most are just out to make the sale, lets face it..that's how they make their money. From the moment I walked in, all my preconceived notions were put to rest!! My salesman Henry was not only amazing but genuine!! His knowledge regarding the vehicles and his professionalism was outstanding. He was nothing but straight up and honest with me. Within the past month, my 2012 and my wife's 2011 both needed service. My 2012 blew a weld on the transmission output shaft, stranding me at a highway onramp, and the 2011 needed a new transfer case motor mechanism. Both Jeeps were taken to Garavel for service. Our 2011 was back on the road in a couple of days - would have been sooner but parts had to be ordered from MA. My 2012 was a bit different, taking a week and a half, but there was a backlog of transmission work and I wasn't able to schedule an appointment ahead of time. Being without my Jeep was frustrating but Garavel did all they could to get me back on the road as soon as possible, and helped my wife and I out with a rental car. All said and done, Wrangler Rob, Sean, and service genius Freddy came together to help us navigate our issues and get us back behind the wheel. Thanks again, guys.
