Buvette is really small, the space between the tables is tight, but it manages to exude style. It's the first restaurant in New York where I was denied a (tiny) table because it was for two (tiny) people, and I was alone, so I sat at a crowded bar. The croque forestier and the tarte tatin I got were good, but not sufficiently in my opinion to justify the hassle. There are more spacious restaurants in the area serving breakfast as good or better, at similar prices.

Buvette has delicious and well cooked meals! I had Le poulet demi aka chicken with French fries. I loved the plate so much I plan to go back to NY soon! The restaurant was clean and the waiters were lovely.

If you are visiting New York City for any amount of time, you should definitely eat in Buvette. This is not just any French restaurant. It is the best one. It has a small menu, which is a good thing. The starters are the best thing, and there is usually a great rillette on it. The menu changes a lot, though. All of the food is great, so when you go there, order whatever you want.

Off 7th along Grove Street, Buvette impresses by its smallness and almost secret appearance. It feels cozy and warm. You ll find yourself tucked between couples or would be dates in this somewhat chic and uninformed place. Prices are on the upscale for the portions you get, though there is merit in the quality you get and the service you receive. Steak tartare was good, though not the best. The meat was tender, but lacked seasoning. Where Buvette shines is through its good wine list and cocktails, which complement artfully the food offerings.

A definitive go back, but not for the steak tartare.

Saw the great reviews and came here on a bright winter New York day. We ordered the croque monsier. To be honest with you it was terrible- small, underwhelming and tasteless. If you want to spend a lot of money for atmosphere only, then here is the place to come!

Came early. Great outdoor seating and there are lots of tables. Get the croque forestier and the pain perdu. Service is good but it s slow because it is busy. They will be a line. Pack your patience. Worth the visit though!

This cute french-inspired cafe is the perfect place to grab a coffee and a pastry or a late brunch. Beautifully decorated with lots of quaint props, and serving a decent range of delicious Francophile dishes. Service is good too.

Most precious location for brunch or lunch, anywhere you sit in the tight-quaint-elegant-vintage space is a unique and delicious experince. Everything on the menu is devine and beautifully presented, the details and consistent quality is overwhelming to enjoy. The most perfect soft scrambled eggs on the planet.

Nice place, often crowded but well worth the wait. This place often reminds me of California, simple ingredients but extremely well prepared and very fresh. Wonderful domaine tempier bandol. Very friendly service.

I had the blueberry pancakes which were pretty incredible. They were fluffy and definitely plumped full of blueberries. They were so delicious that I ate most of them with only a little bit of butter. I also had a side of grits with cheese. I would pass on this item next time as it was a bit to watery for me, but it was a huge portion.

This is the second time I ve been here this year. Place is cozy, tight quarters, but the food is just wonderful. Both times we ve gone for brunch. Haven t tried their evening fares, but we ve thoroughly enjoyed their CR Q Forestier and Madame as well as their Belgian Waffle Sandwich and coffee with honey. Definitely a must if you are in New York.

We came to this place for lunch. my friend recommended this place. Well, it was a winning. The staff welcomed us with a smile and we felt good. The food was just great. We enjoyed every moment and we will definitely return to this restaurant. Highly recommended.

First visit here meeting friends. The small table and stools set up was far outweighed by the gracious helpful service and the exceptionally delicious food and wine. Our foursome selected cheeses, a walnut pesto appetizer, chilled leeks, lobster pot pie, rabbit in creamy sauce with potatoes and coq au vin. Seemingly small portions were richly delightfully filling. We finished with apple tartin. Considering returning for their brunch.

The menu is delectibly selected to perfection. This is home to many New Yorkers' favorite dishes. Don't come if you're in a hurry. It's rare to come in and be seated immediately. Unfortunately the restaurant is tiny, but they make the most out of every inch.

Get the waffle sandwich for breakfast and the amazing orange juice. The truffle and egg is also amazing.

For lunch, the the cow au vent.

The staff are so friendly but can have an attitude at times.

The price per dish is a bit high. Eggs and waffles should not cost $16 anywhere, especially in such a tightly seated restaurant.

It s our late night spot in the neighborhood; we love to go when we are hungry around midnight. Sit by the bar and have a drink or two with meats and cheese recommended by the bar tender; and wrap up the evening with the perfect chocolate moose

Delicious wine and food. The foie gras and Ratatouille were the standouts. The coq au vin left much to be desired. Great wine selection, the staff was happy to recommend something to accompany our food. Very cozy atmosphere, perfect for catching up with friends or a date night.

We just love this place, it has a true European feeling and the food is just great. Started with 3 different charcuterie plates to share. Continued with leeks in vinegar and shaved brussels sprouts. Finished with Steak tartare and duck confit. All plates can be shared.

Wonderful spot in New York City serving French inspired dishes with an adorable atmosphere. Went for breakfast and enjoyed what they had to offer, had the Croquet Madame and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of everything. The only downside to this place is that it can get a little bit pricy for the amount of food you receive.

Love this place. Love everything about it. It s the closest you ll get to being in Paris. I usually come for brunch and be prepared to be sitting in a tiny table and feel a bit cramped and it does get loud sometimes, but the ambience and the food are unique and you just feel good sharing a meal with a good friend or significant other.

Home fries temperature aside, the food here was very good and the country/cafe vibe about the place is definitely fitting for having a Saturday morning breakfast. It definitely gets crowded after 11am, so keep that in mind when coming here. All in all though, a cool spot.

This place is unquestionably one of the best place in the area. Every time I go there I am awfully satisfied. They preserve their very high level service and the topmost level of food they provide. You can never go wrong with this restaurant. Warmly recommended.

Restaurant empty and the waiter wanted to give me a small table for 2 where there weren't even the place for 2 glasses. And I used to go there spending more than 200 every time. Never again

Tiny tables and tiny plates, but full of goodness. French bistro, but scones are amazing! And the toast with walnut pesto is the stuff dreams are made of. Plates are intended to be shared. A bit expensive.

We came here on a recommendation with no expectations, and left having had a beautiful couple of hours. The drinks are made with meticulous care, the service had personality, and the food was amazing. It's a tight space but it is handled with a charming good nature. I wish we were in NY longer so that we may visit again.
