Very good food, great atmosphere. Maybe a bit on the expensive side.
The ambiance at Buvette's outdoor seating was lovely. The two wall structure blocked the cold wind and the overhead heaters made the evening very comfortable. The food and wine were delicious! Highly recommend.
A preferred place for delicious French food. Very filling. The service was very welcoming and observant. The place has a great feel to it. Menu is like a place in Miami I enjoyed
Favourite french restaurant in the West Village. Top food and excellent staff.
Wine bar in a new format. Everything is very tasty and democratic. Always full.
Google says no wait time but actually it s a one hour wait. Places like this really should take reservations.
The taste is not very special, but if you want to feel the atmosphere while having a leisurely brunch :) Personally, the scrambled eggs were more delicious than the waffles~
Ambience was the best part about this place. The food didn't quite satisfy. A bit on the salty side and portions were small. Quite expensive for what you get.
This is our favorite place for breakfast when visiting NYC. It's on a quiet street in the village. Classic cafe breakfast. Coffee is only espresso. Food is simple and delicious. Pastries are fresh.
Authentic French...a tad pricey but the ingredients are really top quality. Be ready for the wait
Small delicious dishes. Croque Forestier with mushrooms and gruyere was excellent, as was the steak tartare. Nice fresh squeezed OJ.
Went for a Sunday brunch. The place is small but regardless the food was horrible. Two people in our group ordered eggs. All they could taste was salt, making the food completely inedible. I ordered chicken with salad. The chicken was completely cold. The green beans were extremely salty. The waffle sandwich was such a small portion. Overall, the food is expensive and just did not taste good.
Been there twice. Once for breakfast, once for dinner. Food was good each time. Waiters were not nice to our party during the dinner visit.
Cute and cozy with outdoor seating in the back. Pricey but worth it.
Heavenly steamed eggs and prosciutto. I visit from Dallas just for these. Well, almost!
This was the most authentic French cuisine I have experience.
Descent french food, the portions are too small and pricey.
I don't get it. Mediocre, over-priced food with so-so service. The space is pretty, if a bit twee, and if you avoid the weekend tourist and oh let's go to the village for brunch crowd there's little to no wait.
It's Manhattan and you'll pay similar prices, but there are far better and more commodious places in the neighborhood.
We were there early on a Sunday. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and has a French touch. The waitress was very nice and we had a croq madame and very good waffles with bacon and egg. The dishes were very well prepared and fresh.
A very good place for breakfast or dinner. Reservations are not possible.
Friendly service at this very cute place. I have been here a few times for dinner back in 2012 and I figured why not come back for old times sake... The lunch menu isn't exactly dinner menu but there are options to choose from that makes the experience worthy on a very hot afternoon.. the Belgian waffles with berries was the star... And the service was great and friendly.. we arrived early for lunch but they took care of us with care...so I feel bad for the only 15% tip.. and the coins I used to give the tip
It s been three days and I still can t stop thinking about the incredible experience that I had at Buvette. The service was wonderful, the setting is cozy and welcoming and the food was absolutely outstanding. Truly an stellar dining experience.
This place is delicious. Everything was fantastic and the atmosphere is great.
Nice and if you stay close to him try it but do not hit him adviser what is worthy and his anger once
The buvette is an insider tip. Charming, popular, traditional French, best food, delicious cappuccino, meeting place in Greenwich Village. Caution: Registration important. My favorite. Prices: well, nice costs just ...
The second time in a row the staff have been nothing short of rude. Shame, this was one of my favorites.
Great breakfast spot! Cappuccino and waffle sandwich were so good. I will definitely come back for breakfast tomorrow to try some other stuff.
The waffle sandwich and apple pie are unforgettable
Frugal meal, nice presentation, five star wine list, coffee is a lower okay.
We did not like this place at all. It was french food with a lot of attitude. We were so cramped in a small table. The food was tapas style at ridiculous prices. The drinks were good but way overpriced. There are many better places available in the city.
Nice place, a bit pricey for what they serve, but food was tasty.
Amazing food and intimate location to share dishes with friends. Pricey with portions on the smaller side, but a wonderful experience nonetheless. Great wine selection as well!
Charming little place. Great for small food, wine, and coffee. Amazing real apple tarte tatin.
so this place is a joint from europe maybe paris. anyways it was quality over quantity.
.
cute little place in a neighborhood surrounding, located in lower manhattan. this place is small even the tables and chairs, which is nice a cozy. i scoredmyself a table right by the outlet. there was no wait for a weekday brunch.
.
so i ordered a cappucino with a nice flower design. then paired it with a mixed berry waffle and a steam egg and prosciutto over toast. When everything came the portion is small but quality is muy excellente.
.
waffle was cute but not crisp enough and the flavor was good. lots of berries and they were fresh. was it worth 16 bucks prolly not but hey it was vacay so whatever. if i was a local then maybe not my number one choice.
.
the steam egg with prosciutto was amazing in every bite. this was wort 16 bucks because the egg was soft and steamy hot and the prosciutto was soft tender and thin. just a perfect combination. also 16 bucks which maybe quite pricey.
.
the cappucino - was milky smooth and strong kick to it too. It was the best part of the brunch.
.
overall it was a cute place to come check out if you never been here. it will be a while before i will return since there are many other places to try for me in nyc. welp thanks for reading and have a yelptasic day.
Fancy French bistro. Small plates of well matched food. Excellent wine selection with nice creative flourishes through their cocktails and accompanying elements
So so happy this place has the cutest outdoor seating options and also amazing French brunch food. The waiters require everyone to wear masks while talking to them, wear gloves, and all in all I felt quite safe. They also had warm heaters above, which made us feel cozy.
We ordered two cappucinos, a croque madame, and a saumon fume. The food arrived steaming hot and it was honestly one of the BEST brunches I have ever had in NYC, and that's saying a lot considering the amount of brunches I have had.
The dishes were seasoned the right amount, and the saumon fume's eggs were the fluffies I have ever tasted. The croque madame had a gorgeous yolk on top, and the right amount of prosciutto and ham.
Had a lovely brunch here with friends on a Sunday. The line was pretty long without reservation, but we were lucky and got seated quickly. The food was delicate and served on small plates like appetizers. It s a bit pricy for the small portions, but the atmosphere and delicious food made it a worthy experience. I liked the waffle sandwich, which was savory and indulgent. The steamed eggs had a smooth texture that made it stand out from regular scrambled eggs. Would love to come back and try its dinner menu!
Cute West Village spot. I used to LOVE this place but last time I went it was just good. Eggs and waffle were nice but not spectacular. A little bit overpriced.
Great atmosphere and awesome pates! Definitely would recommend for a quick bite and drink
Everything about this place is small -the table sizea, the food served on tea saucers, etc... food was just ok, but we expected a nicer/more special experience given the $$$ pricetag and hype
Went here for breakfast!
What a great place.. small little tables make you feel like you are in a French cafe. The music is relaxing. I really enjoyed my breakfast... had a scone with delicious marmalade, a croque madame, and a jambon. All so good, I was in food heaven. Check out my pics
Came to grove street at a scottish tourist looking for the "Friends" building and stumbled upon this eatery. Lovely staff and service and lovely food & drink. When I'm back in NYC I'll be paying a visit once again.
The muscles in curry sauce we quite delicious. The restaurant itself was well decorated but it was rather tight quarters for sitting. I'm 6' 200 pounds and I had to move my limbs rather delicately so I didn't tip anything over. I did accidentally drop the sausage from my entire onto the floor, that was disappointing. I couldn't catch it in time but luckily it didn't hit the ladies next to us.
Amazing scrambled eggs, especially the ones they making using their espresso steamer.
Food is quite good, but the portions are tiny to the degree that I feel ripped off despite the price range between $10 and $20 terrible value for money. Also the place is so busy that you ask for things and cannot expect to get it within 10 minutes. I asked a lady for something, who asked a guy called Alberto to get after waiting for 10 minutes, I asked Alberto if anything was coming and he responded that someone will bring it to me (he wasn t even aware that he was responsible). It s a cute place, but there are so many better and quainter places around town with good service.
Amazing brunch spot. The only issue I have is they don t take reservations (and I don t like to wait) but I went early-ish and only waited about 15 mins. It would have been worth a much longer wait - everything was amazing!
It's one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. They have the best chocolate mousse I've ever had!
Croissants and steam egg dishes are delicious and my favorite for breakfast. It's like sitting outside a bistro in Paris
Great breakfast and coffee that is served up quick too!
Was good, they didn t have Pate even though it was on the menu.
Lovely little gem. We had their steak tatar and smoked salmon on eggs. Both were amazing.
Nice brunch in New York! The waffle tasted great. Didn t really need to wait after pandemic. Definitely will want to visit again
Very disappointed to be honest.
Went there on Nov 2 and maybe the cold weather was one of the reasons why. The Whaffle was cold, hard, with berries that not fresh enough, taste like canned food.
They asked for at least 20% tips and no customized tip choice. Their staff forgot my inquiries for 2 times, especially there were only half of the table seated. They just don t deserve such high price.
Anyway, I m only satisfied with the cappuccino.
My preferred location for delicious french food. I was super full. The staff was very kind and attentive. The bill was decent for the quality. Feels like a place in Los Angeles I loved.
Incredible - CR Q Madame was what I ordered and it could not have been tastier. Perfect portion size as well.
You can have paris vibe in west village
Love their waffles
We came as a group for a holiday party. Service was great. The chef / owner was warm and friendly.Food was awesome. Ambience was just right. People are already planning to go back for regular dinner.
Buvette is too overrated. Very small portion, overpriced, and long wait line. The taste was just as expected and normal. Disappointed.
Craving some European culture in your day? This buzzing cafe offers a quaint space to devour some mostly French inspired plates. Servings are little but satisfying quality food. If you're in the West Village I recommend a stop for brunch or lunch or nibble.
Very well kept and accessible place. They offer generous meals and for fair rates. We liked the meals very much and the staff were super amiable and explanatory. I recommend this place.
My top place for quality french food. The service here is better than most. This place has an awesome feel to it.
Very misleading waitress. Didn t clarify how the grand seafood plate is served. Asking personal questions like where are you from and why are you n philly which is actually not welcomed and asking specifically percentage for the tip!
Very small seats but the food was worth the wait! Better to come here around 10 am to avoid the line
Worth the wait line!!! One pf best brunch places in NYC
Superb Restaurant, the food is exquisite.
Great selection of wines available and the staff are very attentive .
My girlfriend and I had a really enjoyable evening and look forward to going back again soon.
5 Stars.
Recommend.
Solid selection of small plates, fairly priced, though the desserts choice is quite weak. The service can be excellent or pretty bad depending on the server. Open late.
A lovely little hideaway that serves up a delicious weekend brunch... And likely scrumptious meals all around, although I was only there for the brunch.
There was a bit of a wait, but since summer is at an end, nobody cared to eat outside on the back patio so they were able to seat me pretty quickly. It was a cute little back porch where it would have been easy for the wait staff to forget about us, but they were there and attentive.
The food was not as expensive as it would seem, but the drinks is what took it over the edge. My own fault as I assumed that the champagne for brunch would be the same cost as a mimosa, but it was not ($19 a glass instead of $13) and they came in the pretty classic champagne cocktail glasses, which feels like a smaller serve than one would hope. It was very nice champagne though and after I got the check I realized why
Regardless of that, the drinks (including coffee) were wonderful and the food was even more so. I can honestly say I was glad I was there with a friend so that could try more than just my own dish at a go. I can't wait to try all of them.
I will be back, just more careful with my drink choices next time.
Staff were friendly. Nice setting. The pain perdu was very tasty but cold in the middle. Same with my husband's belgian waffle- tasty but cold. Portions are very small and expensive. Good outdoor seating.
The place is brillant, the food is amazing. Perfect place for breakfast or brunch. However, we asked our server for a recommendation and her recommendation costed more than double any other dish, and it wasn't even that good, so clearly she ripped us off.
Food mediocre and tiny portions. Great ambience and beautiful surroundings
Very busy and tight seating. That's New York right! Food is EXCELLENT and SIMPLE menu. Waitress provided lovely customer service. Did I mention the food is EXCELLENT? Did not disappoint before my turn around day trip to Yankee Stadium (Yankees vs Indians). GO YANKEES.
Foods great, service is awful and snooty. I don't get that attitude in Paris, where a waitress stands doing nothing behind the counter for ten minutes while we are trying to get menus. She only springs into action when her boss comes by.
Food was good but supremely expensive. Also charged us 10% nyc Covid recovery surcharge without informing us. Service was slow and terrible.
This spot gives superb service as well as delicious menu. One of the best restaurant in the area. The meals arrived quickly and the prices were economical. Will definitely recommend this place.
Have Loved this place for years , but the last THREE times I ve been there the scrambled eggs have been overcooked, which is beyond a bummer since the eggs were always the reason I would come here . New (or old) staff that needs to be retrained maybe ? Writing this not to complain for complaints sake , but in hopes it can be addressed and remedied , because love the spot .
This charming little French place serves small plates of traditional Gallic fare in a beautiful setting. The space, like the servings, are small, and most of the larger tables are communal. Being a traditional French place, there aren't a lot of vegetarian options, but I had a bread dish with cheese, caramelized onions, and walnuts that was superb, and the cheeses are wonderful. I wasn't as crazy about a shaved brussels sprouts salad, though. There's a sophisticated wine list, and the menus are darling, printed like pamphlets on letterpress paper with a pop-out graphic in the middle. For the serving sizes, prices here are on the slightly higher end, but considering the quality, they're worth it. I would come here more often if the menu included more meatless dishes.
Such a cute place for breakfast! Every ingredient has great flavor and they are put together so well. Awesome service as well! Wish to go back one day :)
