The atmosphere is good. The food didn't meet my expectations... I liked it because it wasn't stimulating and the light taste wasn't burdensome. The server was also friendly, so it was a good time. But there may be weighting.

Staff wasn t very friendly, they all seemed like they didn t want to be there, we had a guy & then a girl, & then somebody completely different on an iPad, took our order & gave us recommendations, so in the end, we tipped them instead. Over all on top of that, food was ok, small portions. Wouldn t come back though.

Went for dinner with a friend, and got the 3 cheese sampler which were all delicious, and the steamed mussels. everything was fantastic, include the atmosphere and the service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to get a bite in the W Village.

This is the best brunch spot any day of the week. The quality of the food is very high. The coffee is brewed to perfection. The staff is friendly and attentive. Overall an amazing spot!

Buvette is intimate, romantic and charming. The food was interesting... I've never had Ratatouille served on toast, but I loved it! If you go for the moules-frites, make sure to ask for some bread - you're going to want to soak up that delicious buttery curry sauce they sit in.

The service was impeccable. The waitress we had was on-point, great at providing suggestions on the menu, and very personable. A dinner at Buvette feels like an affair to remember.

Stumbled upon this place tipsy on on New Year's Eve. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy, with a welcoming staff that offered us glasses of champagne to welcome the New Year. The food is undeniably french, with their cheese and charcuterie transporting you to rural France with every bite. I would definitely go back.

We love this place! It is as close to being in a French bistro without having to be in France. The serving is adequate, not too small, not too large. This is essentially how Europeans eat. They do not over-indulge, but actually enjoy the quality, not the quantity. If you are a big eater, go with the waffle sandwich - does not seem like a lot, but it will satisfy you. If you are still hungry at the end, then just order one of their salted croissants and a to-go espresso and you are good to tackle the rest of your day. The decor of the place is very unique - not overdone, but a lot of thought definitely was put into designing the space. If it is not too hot, try and get a table outside their quaint little patio, and just imagine yourself in a small town in Provence.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant with great decor and the best brunch I ve had in the area. All complimented by the quaint street of Greenwich village. Don t miss out! Chances are you won t even have a wait for a table of 2.

The reservation agent got upset because I asked if I could get the number to make reservations on a website instead of writing it down. He said "F you if you want to be difficult". I called back and he threatened to "F" my dad. I will never go back there. He needs to be fired or worse.

A lively west village scene, often overrun, keeps lines long and guests packed in tight. If you can manage the wait, the small plates are enjoyable and reasonably priced, though service is rushed and understandably strained. Though too unpredictable for a first-date, Buvette is a fun choice for 2 who aren't rushed.

Went for brunch. Had to wait an hour. Definitely not worth the wait. It's one of those places that has hype so everyone has to try it and because it's actually really forgettable, it'll be gone in a year. Oh, and it's worse in the winter since everyone is crammed inside in a tiny space.

The little French restaurant that New Yorkers love ... Clearly overcooked!
We wait 30 minutes (a Sunday morning at 10 am) to finish at the bar squeezed like sardines, in front of the 2 "cookers" who actually only assemble typical French products. Finally ... eggs, salmon, avocado, bacon, waffles, caviar. The little croque-monsieur is quite successful but much too small for the price.
It s not cooking, let alone French !!! but the concept seems to please here ...
French, go your way!

My husband and I didn't make reservations for Sunday brunch so we tried to beat the crowd and arrive there as soon as it opened. It worked! They were fully booked on outside seating, but they seated us inside, right next to the doors leading outside. On a hot summer day, that was perfect!

The best chocolate mousse so far in the City! Not too sugary, intense chocolate taste, and real cream on top. Also the rest of the menu is tasty and with reasonable prices. Do not expect huge portions:-)

While small and quite cozy, we found the Egg Sandwich delicious with a great unique taste. While we split it, the portions are definitely sized more for the average person's appetite. With them having only one other branch in France, it is very genuine.

Horrible service, walked in and was greeted by a waiter that refused to seat me and my spouse until our friend showed up. Alongside his snarky attitude and stuck up personality, the restaurant is nothing great. If this is their attempt at being French, it's a terrible fail. Your waiters don't speak French and they are very stuck up. I would recommend to anyone else to go next door to AOC. Their waiters are actually French and greet you with a smile, unlike Buvette.

From a French person to this restaurant owner.. Stop trying

Charming, tiny, this charming restaurant has three locations: Tokyo, Paris, and New York. The restaurant is Continental in food and New Yorky in design with touches of Japanese refinement that makes everything just a bit more delightful and refined.

Excellent breakfast, French style, small plates. Can accommodate for celiac by removing baguette from most dishes. Food was fresh and service was lovely. La Colombe coffee is one of my favorites, was surprised to see a little peice of Philadelphia in Greenwich village!

This is such a charming cafe. The atmosphere is so cozy. I had the almond croissant which was filled with the tastiest almond paste. The order came with two mini croissants. I also had a croque madame which was tasty and decadent.

This was my first-time visiting this cafe and it was so worth the visit. It's been a few weeks but I'm still thinking about my lovely experience.

What a gem! I was the first customer in the morning - recommended, I hear the place gets really crowded later on.
The steamed eggs are amazing - best I ever had! Staff are super friendly, and the atmosphere is really cozy - a must visit when in NYC.

The waiters are very friendly and having nice food. But the portions are to small and to expensive. I spend for a normal breakfast 45$ and was after that still hungry. The tiny Croissant are cute, but you eat this 7$ croissant in 2 bites.

It's hard to think of a better breakfast in the West Village...maybe even beyond. Ask about the specials, and if they're not of interest, you can't go wrong with the oeufs brouilles, the croque-madame, and the waffle sandwich. Expect a wait for a cramped table but it's all part of the experience. Don't sit at the bar if you don't love watching the inner workings of a well run, busy, incredible restaurant!

How could this place ever get a negative review? Fresh breakfast, incredible eggs & salmon. Wonderful teas and cocktails. Yes, it gets cramped-but that is part of the charm. Very romantic, and worth the wait/small tables. For food of this excellent quality we would eat off our laps.

We came in here for a friend's friend's birthday. There were at least a dozen of us, maybe even 20 at one point. They put us in the front of the bar and, while we had a waiter, they didn't mind that people were going to the bar to get drinks. It's a small, dark, intimate space and I loved it.

We got a mix of appetizers to share and everything was amazing. The french fries! The calamari! Honestly, EVERYTHING was great. I can only assume how good the main meals are.

Drinks were also fabulous, and this place does seem to have a decent bar vibe around midnight.

Deliciously authentic French fare at Buvette, nestled away in a corner of the West Village. HIGHLY recommended for Francophiles and foodies alike. Was particularly impressed with their French 75 cocktail and their luscious and creamy Brandade de Morue. Other impressive items on their menu included escargot, roasted marrow bones, mousse de foie and coq au vin. Servers were super friendly, attentive without being annoying or hovering. The space is a little small, but very cozy and well appointed. Love the little finishing touches like the stuffed chickens and other birds around the room. Great for a date!!

I had such a high expectation of the place but it didn t live up to my expectation. We had to dine outside at -4C/24F where the outdoor dining area wasn t properly blocked from the wind. There were not enough heaters to warm up the place either; we only had one heater at the ceiling which was barely sufficient to stay warm.

The food was good but the portion of the food was too small for the price we paid ($15-16 per dish) and the food quickly got cold. The waiter also defaulted the gratuity at 23% when we were not even provided a warm place and had to finish our meal in 3-40 mins due to the cold weather. Quite a disappointment.

Cute breakfast joint! I can understand why it's getting such a high rating. Nestled in a quiet area, I almost walked by it! Cappuccino is smooth and Rich and the food though on small plates hits the spot! Highly recommend if you are two people as it can be tough to get a seat! Try weekdays!
