I love the food here but the staff is so snooty. Yes the food is amazing and I am a huge fan of Jody Williams... but why is her staff at Buvette subpar when compared to Via Carota s staff? On my last visit I waited around to put my order... they ignored us long enough for us to walk out.

The place is very nice and the attention wonderful. We went to brunch on a Friday morning and we loved it; Although the tables are a bit small, the food is good! If it is close, it is worth going even one day!

Tiny spot serving tasty food on small plates. The cassoulet was especially satisfying with duck leg, pork belly, white beans, and a large round of melty pork sausage that was simmered for days.

Cute spot with great food and service! We dropped by early in the morning for breakfast, and tried their Jambon Cru and Waffles which were both delicious. Though the way they re served makes them look small, they re pretty generous with what they give you and the dishes are deceivingly filling. Coffee was great too!

Amazing little cafe. Arrived mildly jetlagged and in need of some nutrients. When my fruit piled waffles arrived in front of me, I knew I'd made the right decision coming here. Great coffee also!

One of the best brunches we have had in NY ! Located in the beautiful Waldorf Astoria off of Rush. From the amazing feel of a French Bistro to the overhead music , the setting was great! Let me start with my morning cocktail, so yummy and pretty- it was a fig cocktail with vodka, fig preserves and a fig liquer. The food, okay, for starters, I have to highly recommend their French toast! This French toast was with a lemon curd sauce and blueberries atop a very thick fluffy slice of French toast, my family and I shared it because we all wanted a savory entree to boot! The French omelette was fluffy and tasty, and not overrun with stuff, just simple and yummy. Oh, and if you are a fan of Duck- get the Duck wings for yourself or to share with your table! Really, really good! I cannot wait to go back and savor more from the menu. Service was excellent as expected and attentive.

Worst experience ever. Not because food was cold and cappuccino was so poor but because of unfriendly & annoyed staff. I didn t feel welcomed here & don t recommend this place to anyone else. They are a lot of other better options nearby.

The waiters are kinda slow and little bit awkward but I like the place... Also If there was no construction (right where we were sitting that would be lovely as well. We were literally in the middle of the construction with all of that smoke and stuff!)

The stuff were rude , they don t take your order unless you wear your mask ! I go to restaurants every week, nowhere they asked me to wear the mask to give my order. We asked a waitress to take a picture of my friend and me , and she was rude , she said she is not supposed to because of sanitary issue ! Really? I think it s ridiculous ! Other than that the food is delicious and the presentation of the food is excellent

I was here for brunch last time. This time is for dinner. The atmosphere is charming, and with outdoor sitting. The aperol spritz was very refreshing for summer. Food was simple and delicious. They used toast as a vehicle for their food.

Was ok. Didn't live up to the hype. Waffle was tasty but cold. I'm glad we shared a plate of steamed eggs - they were decent but I probably wouldn't have made it through a whole serving of the texture. And very cramped - the coatrack next to me had someone's coast in my face the whole time. There's definitely a vibe here, just maybe not mine.

Rude service and very limited menu. I asked for a cappuccino with almond or soy milk and they rudely answered that they don t have that because it doesn t go with their concept, so ok, got a tea. Then I asked for a bowl of fruit and granola that usually comes with yogurt but I didn t want the yogurt because I have a dairy allergy... it was like asking a mission impossible... the server apologized saying that the chef can t do or isn t willing to do any changes to the menu so I was like ok, I won t eat anything then because the rest of the tiny menu didn t seem appealing. I finally got the granola with fruit and no yogurt...
An overall bad experience and I wouldn t recommend this place to anyone because of the poor service and lack of willingness to accommodate customers.

It is plainly impossible to have a Parisian bistro experience in New York. NYC and Paris are too different as cities to make that possible. However, Buvette achieves an excellent adaptation of the Parisian experience -- a little multi-cultural, a little more "small plates" oriented, and super friendly service.

Legend has it that the best brunch in Manhattan. Came early because they did not take a reservation. I arrived on a rainy Saturday and waited 45 minutes to be seated- totally worth it. Drink: 1) Freshly squeezed blood orange juice- have please! Surprisingly good, ask seconds 2) Tea-comes with a kettle VS cup, you can pack your own. 3) Rose-like wine wine- delicious, choose to eat: 1) Madam Cr'q classic ham, Gruyere & fried side eggs-this is a delicious dish! I would love to have it again, every day of the week. Just right, get this, NOW. 2) Belgian muffins topped with berries-it tastes great in a large portion. Big fan here. 3) Poulpes assisted olive salad with octopus, celery and olives-love this very much, delicious and good small plate to share. 4) Salade De Polite Roasted Chicken, Lentil Greens & Potato Wasabi Vinaigrette-This is perhaps my favorite item. The salad has a perfectly balanced aroma and is a very healthy choice overall. This will be a great choice for those who like more lunch-y items in brunch. 5) Multi-grain mashed avocado, cucumber and yogurt spiced-great except for any food.

Dinner here is fine, but not memorable. And the worst part was dessert. Everyone knows that tart tatin should be prepared fresh and served warm, not pre-prepared and served cold with soggy pastry. Quelle horrer! If you re in the West Village you can do better.

With only a few weeks left in New York, this restaurant was on my list to go to before leaving. I was super disappointed. It was later than 13:00 and they were only serving brunch food with very few options- cooked food was only available after 15:00. I ordered the croque forestier and asked to add an egg to my sandwich. They added the egg, but only gave me half the sandwich. They said they did this because then it would be the size of the croque madame. THIS MAKES NO SENSE TO ME!
Also, the sandwich was extra oily, but not really buttery and flavorful.
The most ABSURD part was that they only had ( with the waiter holding an iPad in your face) 25%,30%, or 35% as options to tip.
In my opinion they increased their capacity with outdoor dining, and they don t have the infrastructure to keep up, decreasing their quality overall.

Charming place for a casual, civilized, yet special lunch. Came on a weekday so no wait (despite the no reservation policy). Service is knowledgeable w/o being overbearing. Menu is focused and inventively classic French. A nice afternoon lunch refuge.

Awful VFM and terrible service. Pastries are very good yet extremely expensive. Food is pretty yet mediocre and very small portioned and again, extremely expensive. The French decor is nice. Overall experience can be very unstasfying and even annoying.

Amazing breakfast. No reservations so you may have to wait for a table, but it is totally worth the wait. The place has a really cozy ambiance and has a little terrace where you can eat when the weather is nice. The service is incredible as well, waiters are nice and friendly.

Simply one of the best restaurants in the world. Simple dishes, full of flavor, it reminds me of Navarre (Portland, OR) in terms of European excellence, but perhaps even better. Every New Yorker knows you often have to pay to get a good dinner, and sometimes the amount you pay is not quite worth it. Well, money spent at Buvette is always money well spent. From the delicious coq au vin, to the mouth watering breakfast selections, delectable appetizers and desserts, and most of all my beloved cod spread, Buvette is a joy to your senses. My wife and I always leave happy.

Really cute place with a stellar menu and wine list. My only complaints would be that it is quite cramped, reservations need to be made quite a bit in advance and it tends to get loud. Definitely amazing food though - try the boeuf bourgignon

Wonderful food, excellent service. The atmosphere feels genuinely like a French brasserie, and the creations coming out the kitchen are exquisitely crafted. No, it's not the cheapest but it certainly is a delicious place to visit.

Terrible if you go with infants, they told us to get our baby out of the stroller and put him to sleep on a bench. We almost left after that but went ahead with it. That bench could only fit him, so we weren t even allowed to put a chair next to him. Had to eat quickly almost standing up. Simple food portions totally overpriced. The food isn t that good tbh. Don t recommended it at all.

Came here for breakfast because they are open early, 7 am. Atmosphere is great in a nice neighborhood. Cozy and you can smell the baked goods in the oven. The waffle sandwich was tasty with bacon, egg, and cheese. There was a lot of butter but I m sure that s why it tasted so good. We had the granola with all the fixings... berries, honey, bee pollen, yogurt. Yogurt is tart and a good compliment to the fruit and honey. My husband had the waffle and he liked it. My complaint would be that you can t make any changes to the menu items. I asked for ham instead of bacon on the waffle sandwich. Seemed like a simple switch to me but they wouldn t do it. It was delicious as is but I don t understand why they can t make adjustments.

Insane!!! Insane brunch. You must try the breakfast waffle sandwich with eggs! It s actually insane! Everything else is also amazing but this dish is exceptional! Scrambled eggs and smoked salmon are also exceptional! Highly recommended. try and go early because there are usually longer waits to get a seat outside in the garden. Otherwise inside is also fun and bustling with air conditioning
