Located in a stunning Manhattan neighborhood, the design is delicate European. I sat there on Christmas Eve for a cup of tea and a chocolate mousse. Was very tasty, but not cheap. Overall - I loved the place. The atmosphere is worth it all

What a special little place... Food is excellent, staff is friendly and happy to serve, and venue is cute but... Waits are long, and if you're drinking Orange juice expect a $30 bill (per head). I love the place, but a little pricey for breakfast. Bon appetit!

Came here for brunch and was not disappointed. Portions are a bit small but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Food was all very delicious, as well as the cappuccino. Wait time was long but to be expected given the size of the restaurant and it being a nice weekend, however the staff was very courteous.

A lovely little hideaway that serves up a delicious weekend brunch... And likely scrumptious meals all around, although I was only there for the brunch.

There was a bit of a wait, but since summer is at an end, nobody cared to eat outside on the back patio so they were able to seat me pretty quickly. It was a cute little back porch where it would have been easy for the wait staff to forget about us, but they were there and attentive.

The food was not as expensive as it would seem, but the drinks is what took it over the edge. My own fault as I assumed that the champagne for brunch would be the same cost as a mimosa, but it was not ($19 a glass instead of $13) and they came in the pretty classic champagne cocktail glasses, which feels like a smaller serve than one would hope. It was very nice champagne though and after I got the check I realized why

Regardless of that, the drinks (including coffee) were wonderful and the food was even more so. I can honestly say I was glad I was there with a friend so that could try more than just my own dish at a go. I can't wait to try all of them.

I will be back, just more careful with my drink choices next time.

Love, love, love this place. Great for a romantic date night or a girls night out. Delicious food! Definitely recommend ordering several items and sharing so that you can try multiple things. They also have an excellent wine selection. I have been to Buvette several times both in NYC and in Paris and it never disappoints.

Cute little (and by little, I mean very little!) French spot in the WV. Not a ton of vegetarian options but that's to be expected. The potato dish is a must have! Expect about an hour wait

A lot of money for a little bit of food. Additionally, while I believe the service of the restaurant is probably good, the waiter that we had was absolutely horrible. I had to call him over multiple times in order to get his attention, he tried to charge me for a ($10!) grapefruit juice that he never brought to me and he wasn't helpful at all when we were trying to figure out what to order. I've never had service so bad before. I don't usually write reviews, but I felt strongly inclined to write this one. As far as the price is concerned, 4 scrambled eggs, two small croissants, one latte and one waffle with berries came out to $64. I have no problem spending that much money on a meal, but for this meal? Absolutely not worth it.

Very Delicious. It s busy with a long line so be patient. The atmosphere very lovely. Everything are so fresh so really no wonder it s from the best in NYC the price is a little bit higher then others but they deserve it.

The food was beyond amazing. The only thing keeping me from rating it 5 stars is the tight space and having to sit on stools instead of chairs. The prices of the food was not befitting of the portions but the taste made up for it. Overall, I say go for it if you can afford the splurge and not feel guilty.

This restaurant does nothing to change upon the idea of a traditional french restaurant, which is good. The decor is beautiful and homey, the servers are very nice and the wine list is emphasized. The food was all delicious, especially the rabbit pot pie that was this afternoon's special. The portions are small, so this may work best for a light lunch or dinner, not a big meal.

Everything about this place makes you want to eat. When you walk in the door, you are hit with the wonderful aroma of the food and just looking at everything in the room from the fresh prosciutto ready to be sliced to walnuts makes you hungry. And you won't be disappointed with the food. The tasty small plates do fill you up. Flavorful asparagus, brandade and coq au vin were all winners.

As a New Yorker this is one of my favorite places to go for both brunch and late night wine and desserts! Theres always a long line to get in here for brunch so the earlier you can get here the better. The service is great and food is sooo yummy, if you can get your hands on financier before they sell out they are melt in your mouth amazing. The place is super tiny so if you're two of you opt for the bar!

First thing a waiter petulantly and snootily said when I entered the restaurant This place is air-conditioned. You have to close the door behind you.

Considering that this place is highly reviewed, we bothered to come down from Columbia to try it. However, did not expect to be treated so crudely by their staff. Yes, their food is delicious, but the experience had been tainted by their unprofessional staff whose manners are unpar with the values the establishment seems to uphold.

Cramped tables, surly waitstaff, and a fairly static (albeit delicious) dinner menu. Something akin to Stockholm Syndrome keeps me coming back here. Make sure to try the chocolate mousse.

I had a salmon scrambled egg and a jambon scrambled egg.
It was okay. Feeling like this maybe because their recipe is inspired by the french homemade meal?
The staff service was good.
I was hoping to have something more special meal here. Only enough for one try out.

When I ate, I thought that brunch wasn't the same everywhere, but after a few days I kept thinking about it!
Coffee is also savory, and juice is recommended above all.
The store is small, so make a reservation in advance.

Wonderful croq madame. A tight squeeze in places. Make sure you get here within their opening hour and a half if you want immideate seating. Also be prepared to share seating at certian tables. Wonderful atmosphere.

There was a pretty long wait but once we had our food, zero regrets! We fortunately got to sit at the counter and watch the amazing staff make the food in front of us. Food was spectacular and so beautiful and the service is impeccable! The lovely host who seated us had forgotten to give us a menu and we only waited for 5 mins, but he was apologetic and gave us some croissants to make up for it. This place really deserves the 5 stars! Definitely coming back!

The wait for this restaurant is ridiculous. you should only bother coming if you are a party of two. Once we finally got seated the food and ambience overall was good. The portion sizes were quite small but tasty. Coffee prices are quite high, like $7. But the food is in line with standard brunch in New York prices

I chose this restaurant as one of eat destinations in New York. I think food is just average i order croque madame ( cheese on toast with ham and egg ). I can cook this by myself at home.

French style brunch place. Small plates, I had a tasty croque madame. The line to get a table on a Sunday was over 1 hour around 12 so I would recommend picking your time wisely.

I really love it here. It's really thoughtfully decorated and beautiful inside. I think breakfast is my favorite, but dinner is really good too and worth coming for. We were able to get a table for two at around 7:00 on a Saturday night, but I think it may have been a fluke thing. Not a lot of elbow room, but it's New York.

If you are visiting New York City for any amount of time, you should definitely eat in Buvette. This is not just any French restaurant. It is the best one. It has a small menu, which is a good thing. The starters are the best thing, and there is usually a great rillette on it. The menu changes a lot, though. All of the food is great, so when you go there, order whatever you want.

Great.

Buvette is such a lovely little cafe/restaurant in the West Village with unfortunate limitations. My comments are for dinner only. The food is all around to die for, with my favorites being the $25 Foie Gras and the $24 charcuterie plate. I only mention the price because everything seems a bit too expensive- like 25% too expensive or so - even for NYC.

The limited beers start at $9 while the small pours of wine go for around $15/16 a glass and $22-24 for a tiny carafe - get a bottle instead as they have a nice description of each of France s wine regions in the miniature menus they offer. Just be patient as it s hard to read them in the dimly lit, cramped venue. They do offer a corkage fee of $50.

The service is a bit challenging but I think that is due to the cramped conditions and busy nature of the restaurant- it is quite popular which is a testament to its food and cute cafe setting. It s hard to get to know the servers due to all of this but they seem generally nice.

Just coming back from France, it s nice to have a few quality French options in NYC and Buvette may very well be one of the favorites, though it s overall price point will keep my visits less frequent.

Idyllic French bistro in the village - if you come here for brunch, be prepared for a long wait. The place is always crowded and quite small. But the environment, the food, and the service definitely make up for the crowded conditions. Anything with steamed eggs is a solid choice, as is the scone! A lil pricey but not different than other restaurants in the area.

Bad administration. The food must be good but I was turned down twice for the long wait. When I finally decided to wait, the hostess told me that I would have to wait t 30' more than she previously estimated. So i gave up on it again.

There's not enough great things to say about Buvette. Service is fun and quirky in the best way. The food is impeccable and it's low key at the same time as being really luxurious. The trifecta of ISodi, Buvette and Via Carrotta is ALLURING.

went here for a light brunch. small menu and everything was way overpriced for what it is. $16 each for an avocado toast or trout toast or a waffle. cute place and good juices but won t come back since food does not justify the price that you can find elsewhere 1/2 the price...

Amazing quality of food which always get 5 stars in my book. Service is ehhh. And has been discovered by tourists so always a line. Also restaurant is cramped even for NYC standards and plates look like they are from a doll house. But again food is on point so 5 stars. 1 star on everything else.

Adorable and authentic French brasserie. The food is delicious. I highly recommend the escargots. Wine choices were diverse and reasonably priced (and the drinks menu itself is adorable). Tables are a tight squeeze, but the atmosphere is convivial, and the noise level is surprisingly reasonable. Overall prices are reasonable, about halfway between AOC next door and the much larger/more sterile Boucherie down the street. We were seated immediately on a beautiful spring Sunday evening. I'll be back!

yumyyy

This is the only place in the world I feel like I'm in New York and Paris at the same time. Wait for lunch usually includes an hour so put your name down and browse closeby to West Village's most unique shops. Split the croque monsieur and make sure to order the croissants or a dessert to leave feeling like a content Parisian.

Great food but so over crowded! I would go to this place a lot more often if it wasn't so popular all the time. Lots of interesting choices if you are into wines and the service is great!

Not sure why some people are complain in the reviews about the cost. It's outstanding food quality, and between the great food, excellent service, and a fanatical attention to detail down to the decor having no dust, you are definitely getting a good value. It's definitely "cozy" so be prepared to be sitting close to other tables. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting.
