Excellent food.

Not so friendly with dish alterations but options are very good.

I had the waffle sandwich and it was amazing. Just amazing. There's no way to describe the way the waffle taste except magical. Small, but mighty.

We went for brunch this morning, and the food and coffee are great. Also, the hostess and waiter were friendly.

Not all tables are optimal for the current outdoor dining and weather conditions. Our table was not under a heat lamp, and it seemed specific tables under a covering with the heat were reserved in some capacity, though the method to secure one of those tables remains unclear. The logistics around seating and some of the table placement could use some tweaking, in my opinion (though I m sure this is easier said than done!).

I live in the neighborhood, and Buvette was on my someday list for quite a while. The first-come-first-serve seating model always felt a bit daunting. With the additional complexities surrounding COVID-19, I think they re doing great. I m giving 4-stars due to the currently available accommodations and logistical ambiguity. Overall, we had a good time!
I look forward to coming back once indoor dining resumes.

Intimate space with great food. If you're looking for a big American breakfast this isn't for you. Steamed eggs are a must and the croissants are delicious and flakey. Coffee is great too.

The hype is clearly from those who cannot differentiate between good and bad food or good and bad service. This place is clearly for those who like to see and be seen. Small portions, high prices and indifferent service place this restaurant well below NYC standards. I wound up breaking a tooth on a SAUSAGE found in their "cassoulet," which is served (?) in a french onion soup terrine...

I understand the charm of this place. Grove St even in 2021 seems lost in the cobble stones of time, but all face and no trousers does not a great restaurant make. The wine and cocktail glasses are from Barbie's Dream Home Depot , and the wine list however ambitious has already priced in future stimulus inflation...but the menu prices are very fair. If you are a tea totaller preping for the swimsuit gram then you will be pleased, but I was strangely left wanting...and expecting...more....

I never get tired of visiting Buvette! They are open almost all day, so no matter WHAT time it is, you can find an inspired wine list, thoughtful cocktails, and beautifully prepared food.

Especially memorable this last visit was the asparagus mousseline!

You get what you pay for here. The staff is also hospitable and knowledgeable about the extensive wine list. Love it!

One of my fav spots in Manhattan! For breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner! Have never been disappointed ever! Staff are nice! The space is very very petite! The food has a lot of butter! Comfort food!

A beautiful spot that even my boyfriend from France said it looks like a bistro in Paris. We hung out by the bar and it was probably a more comfortable spot than moving out to the outdoor area. The tables are tiny outside and there was barely enough space to put our dishes down. Nonetheless love the wine selection, the food, and absolutely the vibe here. We got the onion soup, croque monsieur, and potato gratin. Yum!

Very good food. We noticed on the menu there was a covid-19 surcharge, which is understandable. When we asked for the check, the waiter brought an iPad and announced the total was $70. I asked to see the bill to make sure the food was charged correctly (we changed part of the order) and to know the covid surcharge amount and he said he could bring it after we paid. The tip was automatically set to 25% and the waiter seemed displeased when I took the iPad to put in a custom tip amount. After paying, he finally brought us the paper bill that showed a 10% surcharge. I am all for charging a covid-19 surcharge if need be, but don t try to hide it from customers or act annoyed when they want to see what they were charged before just handing over their credit card.

Excellent food, but the place clouds itself with an air of "we're too good for you", mostly due to the French side of things. Was not taken seriously about a wine selection as I suppose our group didn't look "sophisticated" enough. Ended up sharing a handful of different dishes and a bottle of wine between three of us and ended with a bill over $150 and felt fairly underwhelmed. Quality of the food is great, wine list is great, but our server was arrogant and the wait for food is crazy long. Don't come here if you're in a rush.

Also beware a lot of the seating is family / banquet style, and they cram people in so you may have no room to move.

Probably wouldn't go back.

Awesome place. Well decorated with great taste, which makes you feel comfortable. Several areas and a small terrace with a lot of charm. Coffee, juices and spectacular toast. Ideal for breakfast and brunch.

This place was outstanding in all regards. Got our party of 6 sat down immediately during a pretty busy time, incredibly friendly, and the food was perfect. My 6-months-pregnant wife had been feeling nauseous the morning we went to Buvette, and just so happened to throw up on their patio (thankfully it was cold and no one was sitting out there). She hadn t eaten any of the food yet, so no worries there! Their staff was unbelievably kind and helpful when they easily could have been rude and rushed us out. Couldn t recommend this place enough!

Average welcome (not really smiling), the place is cozy and intimate. Very expensive for little quantity. The waitress told me that I could not add egg to my croque monsieur while it is served during the day. Disappointed. There is much better in the area if you want to eat French. I didn t go back.

Food was delicious, but the service was terrible! It wasn t busy like 8 tables and 4 waiters and I had to ask 3 waiters for sugar before we got it. We ordered croissant and never got it! BUT we re charged! then when I asked for a check. We were sitting for 10 minutes and waiting to pay. So disappointed!

I went to about 11:15, and I think we got about 6 teams. I went in and ordered food, and the food came out fairly quickly and the food and drink I recommended was delicious.
It's a bit disappointing because the place is small, but I feel like living in a crowded place.
I had two food, two drinks, and a tip of about $ 60. I have a lot of sheep.

If sitting at the bar avoid this at all costs this is where the kitchen staff hand over the food to the wait staff. Avocado toast was beyond magnificent, whoever made my waffles had a heavy hand with the butter make sure to ask for less or omit it all together

Awesome French restaurant- went once for dinner and once for breakfast. Amazing food and cocktails. Atmosphere for days! My favorite place in NYC(loved the Paris one too). Seriously if you are disappointed here it s time to realize you don t have any taste.

Not worth the wait. They re really nice and manage the line with a smile, but also a deceiving it s only 20 standard reply, when they perfectly know it s at least an hour (what we waited). Just tell people it will be 1 hour (or 40 ... just an honest estimate, so they don t waste their morning waiting and can use the time to go do something else). Menu is limited, and sure, tasty, but you can get a nice piece of toast with scrambled eggs and a slice of prosciutto on top pretty much anywhere, and will be good. Won t be back.

It's as if you were transported to a little bistro in Paris! Lovely and quaint, Buvette is just an absolute dreamy place to have some breakfast and enjoy a coffee. My wife and I went on a Monday morning and it was a tremendous delight. My co-worker told me about going here, while I was visiting NY for the first time and its an experience that I'll never forget. Also, get the croissants, cause its a no-brainer.

Stumbled onto this spot avoiding rain during citibike ride uptown.
It's clear that they took a great deal of time on the decor. As if the neighborhood didn't already transport you to another city or very old NY, stepping inside here certainly made me feel like an exploring tourist.
The menu is decedant. We has oysters to start with a healthy slice of cheese and organge marmalade. Then 4 oz burgers on onion fachachcia bread. Paired with a "Jasmine" cocktail. I'd eat this same meal every time but that's not fair to the rest or the menu. So we have to go back.

The European vibe is very chic and classy. I usually am not a big sucker for ambiance, but this place feels special and quaint. I should warn you, it is fairly expensive for the portion size and simplicity of the dishes, but the quality is high. I came here for brunch with two others and didn't have too much of a wait. The decor was charming and the staff was accommodating and friendly. However, our table was super tiny - likely more appropriate for just one individual or two really tiny individuals - but for three people, but we managed and only spilled one glass of water!

We tried the avocado toast which was buttery and scrumptious. We also tried the waffle which was tiny but had fresh plump berries and tasty cream.

The only thing which I thought was slightly odd was that they did not have nonfat milk!

The taste is just flat, it's plain, it's not good, but it's a restaurant The waffle was delicious. I was in a bad mood, but the male server brought me the bill and we paid the cash. I never thought about this during my trip, and I was sure to give you some tips, but the more I thought about it, the worse I felt. It wasn't really unkind, but at the end of the day,

Plates are as delicious as they are small (very!). We had the most uncomfortable table imaginable but still had a great time. It's a charming room even if cramped. The food was on point. The Nutella crepes are unreal.
