Filled out an online price request for "the lowest price they're not allowed to advertise online" only to have someone immediately call me and leave a voicemail saying that it's "already a good deal".
Since then 5 other people from there have contacted me despite already telling them I'm no longer interested.
Anyone there ever heard of CRM? Or are you just going to have different people continue to contact someone who's already made it clear that they're not interested?
RV salesman are a hundred percent responsible for the way consumers feel about RV salesmen.
Going to skip the whole mass-produced-dealer-middle-man-markup situation and have something custom built for the same price.

Sale lady was great bought a apex 250lrs on the way home with trailer maybe 20miles down the road nose cap trim was flying in the wind called the sale lady sent her pics of the issue . I told her to get the trim piece and sent it to me so I could properly install it myself . Two mouths later and still haven't received the trim piece call and asked for a manager and he told me there pre delivery person would call me to resolve the issue. Three days have passed since the last time I contacted them ,no reply it's been over two and a half mouths with no response . They great until you make a purchase after that they ignore you hoping you will just go away. Sorry to tell the truth but that's the case beware of fun town rv best to find a better dealer Steve vaughn Corpus Christi ,tx .
One thing is a fact at Fun Town RV in Wharton, TX., they know what customer service and satisfaction means. I traded in a travel trailer for a fifth wheel and the entire transaction was smooth from the sale to me driving off in my shiny new fifth wheel. My sales person was very knowledgeable and focused on my interests. He introduced me to the general manager, sales manager, business office and the service manger. When the RV was in PDI, the detail and maintenance team walked me through all items they performed and those small things I pointed out were quickly resolved. When drove my RV off their lot I felt good! I want to thank David, Charlie, Lucy, Dan, Paul, and Amber. A "Job Well Done" to MY sales person, Christian von Glasow, a real customer oriented person.
My husband and I just bought a travel trailer from Fun Town RV and the entire experience was just wonderful. Our salesman, Buford, was very knowledgeable and helpful. Mario helped us get the deal done fast. Chet got our paperwork done in record time. Brian and Alyssa answered all our questions about our new trailer, even ones we didn't know we had. Roscoe and the team got our braking system installed and got us on the road in record time. I would recommend everyone to buy from these guys, especially Buford!
Ms. Ashleye Ziober, I can't say enough about her. After much back and forth with a fella (Patrick Utect) and not much not getting accomplished. Ashleye stepped up to the plate; she did a fantastic job getting my issues with my RV resolved. I really appreciated how Ms. Ziober kept my informed and up date with the process from start to finish, this lady needs a promotion. Great job to her and the staff who supported her because when I went to pick up my RV Ashleye was off but the staff was great too. A big thanks also goes out to the salesman (JR Mendez) for his support. Thanks FUN TOWN...
In March I'd purchased a Sandpiper 35ROK from Fun Town RV Houston. Making this my 1st 5th wheel. Traveling in from out of state I was looking to complete my purchase as quickly as possible. After I had arrived I was greeted by John Popp, my sales person I had been dealing with over the phone. He had all of my paperwork complete and ready to be finished up by Ms. Lucy Anzaldua in finance. In between this time (which wasn't very long at all) I was introduced to Roy Moore the sales manager. I couldn't be leave how friendly everyone were to me, it wasn't the nagging sales person, it was more on a person to person level. After I was given a total walk through of my camper with an inspection to correct any problems I may of had. After finishing up I was introduced to David Kidd the General manager. Needless to say they kept their word and I was able to get it completed very quickly. I feel very satisfied and comfortable about my purchase and truly feel that if I ever experience any trouble with my unit that I have made a group of friends to help me along the way in getting them resolved. That you all so much and Goby bless you all. Thank you, David J. Folsom, LA
Place was great when I bought the RV but after the fact was not a good experience they did not want to fix or repair my RV they will not Send service To your location you have to load your RV up and take it there for repairs. So if you live far away from the establishment do not buy here because you have to be prepared to travel for repairs.
What a great experience! My salesperson, Kimberly Guillen, was incredible. She listened to what my family s needs were and found THE PERFECT travel trailer for us. And she got us a GREAT DEAL! She is a true professional and I highly recommend her. I live in Houston and it was well worth going the distance to the Wharton location because Kim was so helpful!
Great customer service from beginning to end!! Professionalism and respectful all around. They didn't push us buy anything gave us time and we're there when needed. Tyler was a great sales rep answered all our text and questions with no hesitation. James from financing was also very helpful explained all the financial part. Then even got calls from their customer services making sure that sales and finance covered what they needed and if we needed anything. Would totally recommend you buy your RV here. Before you sign you have a walk through and explanation of everything. Already recommended to my family.
Purchasing our first travel trailer was a big deal for us. Tanner Davis, with Fun Town RV Houston, made our buying experience a lot less stressful, and much more enjoyable. Tanner is polite, and professional, and our family really appreciated the time and effort he made to answer all of our questions, and put us at ease with the process. Thank you, Tanner, and Fun Town RV Houston! If your shopping for an RV, I highly recommend both!
Ben Shev made sure that we had an excellent experience even after the sale. He's been available to help out several times since we bought our travel trailer and we couldn't be more pleased with their products or service. Highly recommend!!
Terrible business and terrible customers service pretty much sold ourselves our toy hauler that was 4 months ago and still haven't received tags and registration for it I've called several times about them and have been given many excuses as to why I don't have them yet from them not haveing my mailing address to they aren't able to get in touch with the DMV and was told one of there salesman who's name is Badar something that I should just go to my DMV in my home town my self and now I get no reply from him.... what a joke don't waste ur time
My wife and I bought our camper in October. We brought it in for warranty work in April when our job was finished and went back home to Louisiana. My wife called several times in the last three months about the camper and was told several different things why it wasn't done. They called last Friday and told her it was ready. We drove 400 miles from north Louisiana to find out that none of our issues with the trailer were not resolved. We are very disappointed with the service after the sale and would not recommend anyone we know to buy a trailer here.
We bought an RV there recently and everybody was very professional and knowledgeable. They worked very hard to assist us in getting into our new trailer. The technicians there are very good and understand your trailer and your needs and can answer questions easily. I am very happy to have shopped with this dealer.
Bought the trailer in Giddings, called Wharton dealership to see if they could check out a suspected leak in shower. Very pleasant to deal with assured me that they would get on the problem immediately. They did everything that they said they would do and had the trailer ready to go at the agreed time. Excellent experience thanks to Kathy, Rick and Jonathan. Could have used some help hooking up, prior to leaving.
My wife and I decided to buy a new RV/travel trailer so we shopped for well over a month, we went to camping world, Terry Vaun, Demontrond RV, Ron Hover, Holiday world, explorer USA and south Texas RV s then to our final and last stop Fun-town RV of Wharton. After looking at all the hundred different options on the different RV s we finely decided exactly what options we wanted that would meet our needs as well as the need for our 5 grandkids. As far as price range it was a little crazy all the ones that had the options we had to have were 20k-27k on clearance so we tried extremely hard to negotiate with several like camping world, DeMontrond and Ron Hover they wouldn t hardly budge on the price. So we looked at fun town RV and they had the exact options we were looking for so we setup an appointment with Buford to look at some of the models we were looking for and trust me we weren t looking forward to talking to another sales person. When arrived they didn t come walking up to the truck like most of the other dealerships did this was nice. We went in met Buford immediately we felt very comfortable talking to him so we started outlining exactly what the options were we wanted and what our budget was. He showed us what he had within our budget and with the all the options we wanted we looked at 3 units and made a decision without any sales pressure and I mean none and that alone was a huge plus for us. The best part was Fun-town beat the price by $1500 $3500 less than we expected! The second and most important part to us was the sales experience and the over the top customer service they have and I they were always honest and upfront with us. I want to personally Thank Buford for all he done for us! Awesome job sir oh and he even answered our call while he was on vacation in Mexico and made sure we were taken care of.
My husband and I recently purchased an RV. This review as of today is solely for the sales and finance departments at their Wharton location. Like most people, our anxiety skyrocketed dealing with the thought of haggling, back and forth sales tactics. We did lots of research online before going in and had an idea of "must haves". Buford Tidwell was our sales rep at the Wharton location. He listened and cut out a lot of nonsense. There were no high pressure sales tactics, and we appreciated his candidness with each unit. We have had awful experiences previously with auto sales. We have also had seamless auto transactions, so we were prepared from one end of the spectrum to the other. We scoured google and yelp reviews on dealerships from sales to service and Fun Town was the first dealer we went to. Prices truly are comparable to nationwide averages and prices are fair. Wharton has a small town feel and I have family deep rooted in the Wharton area so we chose to come here first rather than Houston. Buford was receptive in our requests and listed to what we liked about certain units and what we didn't. He didn't scoff as we requested to go back and see units several times and narrow them down. He was patient as I sat and crunched numbers to determine how we wanted to proceed with the finance process. Overall, a very pleasant buying experience. I didn't get the super sketchy salesman with greasy hair and too many cats at home. He was respectful, comfortable and showed that he was a real human. He gave us honest answers when we asked. The good and the bad. Pros and Cons. We looked at mid range to high end models. He did not pressure us to buy out of our requested range. In fact, we requested to look at some of the more costly options. As some of the units were out of the range of what we wanted to pay, he did not even attempt to showcase those initially. The finance process went seamlessly as well. We do both have excellent credit and not a lot of preexisting debt, so this may have been a significant contributing factor. The finance manager we dealt with was wonderful and made small talk about our pets and some about his personal life. All in all, we got to know these people as humans there doing a job and not just looking at us as money walking through the door. There seems to be small wiggle room for negotiations, but it is to be expected as their prices are lower than most dealers. I do not yet have any input on the service department, so this is based on sales and finance alone. I will not hesitate to update this review in the event I have an encounter with their service department. I also was not given any incentive to complete this review. I rarely write reviews but felt this process was deserving. If nothing else, give them a shot. I would not hesitate to do business with them again and will continue to send business their way via word of mouth.
Mike Wagner has always been the best. His knowledge of this industry is unparalleled. I would drive from my House in Florida just to have him as my guide for purchase of my next Class A.
Thank you Zach Randall for helping us finally make a decision about our new 2016 Cherokee. You were very patient even after the third time of going out and looking at all our choices again and changing our minds twice. Great prices, friendly, helpful people and a clean facility made us choose Fun Town RV Houston. Looking forward to picking up our travel trailer on Thursday.
Thank you Tye for a great experience purchasing our new RV at Funtown RV, Wharton! I highly recommend Tye, he and the staff there were very professional and easy to work with... took us straight to what we were looking for- thanks again Tye!
In today's business world, customer service and professional sales people are getting harder to come by. Just want to drop a note to your organization that my wife and I were in your business last Saturday and we were promptly met by M'lis and she spent at least an hour oor more with us showing your product line of 5th wheels available. She was knowledge about the manufacturer, the models and offered idea's for us to consider when buying an RV that would fit our needs as a full time RV-er.
Never any pressure and when we told her that we were just doing our research and probably 60 days out from making any decision, it didn't slow her down a bit and she seemed to really care about what we were trying to do and was trying to assist anyway possible for us to make the right choice.
I am at that point in life that I don't want to deal with stupid people. Won't complain or write ugly letters to the owner, I just never go back. . However, I will take the time to compliment those that deserve it.
M'lis deserved one.
Anyone with a name like M'lis deserves one anyway.
Thanks and we will be back as well as telling others to check out your location for an RV's.
Great prices and customer service. If you're looking to buy a new camper I highly recommend giving them a visit. Ask for Buford. He'll take good care of you!!
Disappointed with the experience. Spent over 2 hours there, found a RV my husband and I liked. Drove out of our way just to come to this one and spend our Saturday morning there, only to leave with NO answer, what so ever. Don't dance around the answer if we are able to make the plan work or not, don't shake our hands and act like you have our best interest, and will do everything you can to "make it work." Be straight forward, and don't waste our time.
* I will change my review, IF we are contacted within a reasonable time frame with a answer and explanation of it.*
*Edited to add: I was contacted and they explained to me how the process works far different than a car dealership and can take longer. Thank you for trying to help us and explaining this as this was our first time to look into buying a RV.
Austin Stout was very friendly and knowledgeable about the travel trailers that me and my wife looked at I would absolutely recommend Fun Town rv to anyone also JT did a wonderful job at doing a walk through with me before I left
My wife and I were first time RV buyers and had a great experience with Buford. He was very open, honest and knowledgeable. He and his superiors were able to provide us the 5th wheel that we specifically chose for a price below our target price which included a 5 year warranty. I highly recommend this dealership especially if your from the local community. Ask for Buford! He is a very popular salesman there for a reason. You won t regret the experience.
I had a great experience at fun town RV in Wharton. Buford Tidwell was my salesman and he made the entire process easy and explained everything well for a first time buyer to understand.
Awesome experience. I was very apprehensive in the beginning because this was going to be my first RV purchase. We worked with Kelly Bohl who was extremely patient with us. She never tried to talk us in to something we didn't want which was what I was worried about. Kelly was very accommodating and helped us hone in on what we wanted. The experience was one that was stress free and educational. I would highly recommend Kelly Bohl to anyone looking for a new purchase. Thanks, Kelly Bohl (We Love our new RV)
Let me start off by saying our camper gets 5 stars AND our salesperson M'liss gets 5 stars. Our issues and reasons for the low rating are with the service department and the lack of courtesy and honesty. After camping a couple times we found some things that needed attention before our warranty was up AND before the summer camping season. On April 12th we dropped our camper off at the Wharton lot to be serviced. No promises were made and we did sign a paper saying we knew it could be 8 weeks. We had made several camping reservations for the upcoming months so we felt it prudent to keep ourselves informed so that we could alter or cancel our plans. After six weeks we called twice and left a message AND sent an email to the service dept requesting an update on the status of our camper. After not hearing back from them we decided to drive to the lot and see for ourselves what was going on. We then learned they had not even looked at our camper yet and were "reminded" that we had signed a paper acknowledging that we knew it could take up to eight weeks. Fair enough...we would wait. Knowing it would be eight weeks tomorrow...earlier this week we sent an email to the main office and also had an email forwarded to two persons who work in the service department. Just like the first time...nobody bothered to get back with us (except for an automated response saying someone would respond to our email). In case you are wondering...we chose email so that we would have a paper trail. Today...my husband drove all the way to Wharton to get an answer. We found our camper had still not been looked at AND that they are just now getting to the campers brought in back in February. Are we unhappy about that?...you betcha!! However...we are more upset at the fact that we had to drive (an hour each way) to Wharton AGAIN to get to the truth...when a courteous, honest email or call with a response would have sufficed or at least made the situation easier to accept. There is a lot to be said for honesty and courtesy!!
**UPDATE ONE** 06/18/2016 Another week to make a total of 9 weeks AND more emails sent with nothing but one canned response. **RESPONSE** I'm not sure what number was called but I have no record of a call or a voicemail...which is why I prefer email and a paper trail. However...I will also check my husband's phone log for a call or message. In the meantime, please forward my email correspondence to your service department. I would appreciate an update. We have had reservations for a July vacation since last year and I need to know if it is even a possibility we can still go. **UPDATE TWO** 6/23/16 A gentleman named Bandy was able to contact us and we did get a bit of good news. The camper is finally in the bay and awaiting a part for completion. Thank you for getting back to us!!!
This is my first new camper, and I live 1 1/2 hours away. Kelly Bohl could not have made it an easier or less stressful buying experience! She gave me her personal number so I could contact her with any questions, she was so helpful through the financing process, and completely set my mind at ease with any future questions. It was such a joy to work with her. Honestly, I get overwhelmed easily , so if this has been a stressful situation , I would have pulled out, I've done that before! I highly recommend going to this establishment, even if it's out of the way, and having Kelly help you!
Had a great day that Fun Town. Looks like we purchased the trailer today..a 26 foot brand new 2018... very happy with the purchase. Everyone was very nice
Very good experience. Great salesman, friendly staff, clean facility, very competitive pricing. As we were hooking up, another salesman that wasn't busy at the moment actually came out and helped set up our RV. Its great to see a team first business culture. By the way, tell the cleanup, and inspection crew great job on getting my trailer shined up and ready to go! They don't always get the credit they deserve. The only reason I'm not rating them at 5 stars is the overly aggressive push of additional gap insurance, and extended warranties by one particular person in financing. You really need to work on your sales technique and learn when to stop, smile, and listen to the customer. Attempting to Intimidate someone is a bad, old school sales approach that doesn't work on most customers these days.
Recently visited the store and was greeted by very friendly people. The sales manager, smitty, was very helpful and answered all of my questions for me. Would definitely recommend going to this store to find your perfect unit!
Had an excellent experience. Many units to choose from. Buford Tidwell our salesman was very patient and informative. James the finance manager answered all my questions and explained the options I had available. It was worth the four hour drive from Mercedes, Texas to purchase my new Mini Lite Rockwood RV.
I contacted these folks through the internet on a Sunday and I was contacted by Christian first thing Monday morning. What a pleasure it was to work with him. He answered all of our questions and sold us the unit we went to look at. He was also very patient with me when I showed up wanting to compare of few other units :). He answers his phone and promptly returns my call with answers. The 5 Stars are for him!!!
On another note, I have not had the same experience with their service department. I have not made the first payment yet and have had to replace a few items on this "very slightly used" unit. All I wanted was for them to ship me the parts and we would replace since we live over 100 miles from this location. he insisted we bring the unit in for service. It took several calls and complaints to management before the service manager Bandy agreed to ship me the parts as long as I agreed to ship him the broken ones back. Okay, whatever. Since I now have Bandy's card, I contacted him direct again for information on another replacement part needed. No call returned after 6 hours and I was told he was in the office. This is when I called my wonderful sales person CHRISTIAN and he came through again! I'm a "second chance" person but so far, the service department, gets a "1 star".
Thanks to Fun Town Rv but most importantly to Mr.Buford...he is the person to speak to when trying to purchase an rv. Exceptional assistance and directions on our purchase from him, but most importantly a really good human being!!! We are VERY content with our Amazing rv purchas!!! Great Prices!!!!!
So I bought a camper from them this past Saturday. If you like being rushed and given barely any information, feel free to shop at this location. Also, no starter pack with some excuses, no subbing cheap items in place of the starter pack with lies straight to the face, basically the absolute WORST first time buying experience ever. Never in my life will I return to, or refer anyone to this location.
Great experience overall, from sales to financing. Happy to finally get the rig that really works for us at a reasonable price. Mark was great, kept me informed and made a few special accommodations to make the sale. Highly recommend based on my experience.
First time RV buyer I m very glad I chose fun town RV they went out of their way to make sure the transaction went smoothly I told them my price and they matched it up with me perfectly I would highly recommend Fun town RV and the sales associate Jeremy ! Every time I had a question he had an answer and if he didn t know he would simply say give me 2 Minutes and have an answer for me he went above and beyond to make sure that my experience was very smooth and successful!
BEWARE After the sale you will be left on your own!! Bought a New camper almost two months ago, and it came damaged during delivery. Also Some things on the inside were missing or broken from the manufacturer, I was told that a service technician would come to me to fix it all (I'm only 1 hour away), which has not happened and the service manager has stopped even trying to stay in touch. I have had to fix the broken/damaged items now myself with no reimbursement.
I bought a new 2019 Solaire by Palamino back in the beginning of June and have kept it covered and babied for the last several months and only used it twice. On the second trip the AC did not work and as I got up to look at the roof noticed that there was prior damage to the camper before I purchased it and without my knowledge and the knowledge of Fun Town Rv. That was very upsetting...HOWEVER, I took it in afraid that due to the site of the damage they would say that I was liable and the warranty would not cover it but they surprised me and replaced my AC unit completely, fixed some scratches on the front arch of the camper, and replaced some sealant. All in all I appreciate their effort and respect the way that their service department has pulled through! Thanks guys!
Let me say 1st great dealership and they have some really good sale people, I would recommend to anyone. One salesperson was not so great seemed irritated 1st time buyers could not make up their minds about new or used RVs. In all fairness we did get there later. An older more experienced sales person made the sale for us and was very informative and knowledgeable. As for the RV, I was a bit surprise to find the brand new 2016 unit has a few issues which I will get looked into as soon as I can. They are not all the dealership fault I think.
1st the A/C tape leaks by and or does not stick which causes a huge loss in air flow. Next the level transmitters stopped working within days. Most surprising and upsetting is it seems aftermarket screws where attached to the slide roof on top of tape with no sealant and after 2 months are showing signs of rust. I talked to a RV repair place which told me to send the video to the manufacture to get answers, because they do not come like that and where very surprised it was a new RV with that kind of patch work. I will give Fun Time RV and chance to explain. I am also really disappointed with their cleaning job on the roof on day one I noticed black mold stuff along the ribs of the roof Brand New 2016 RV and the underside of the RV was invested with brown widows. Which is currently a big problem in Houston, now it seems my RV. Regardless after hours and two days I have gotten the periodic roof maintenance done it would have been easier if the RV place did a good job of cleaning in the 1st place.
Fake reviews...who would put to ask for a 3 level warranty service contract....bottom line...they do all they can to sell and forget about you after...push you to write a review and tell you what to say in it...
Never ever purchase anything at Funtown RV Wharton, Texas. I had to hire an attorney to file theft charges against them to get my down payment back. Very unprofessional. They will steal you blind.
And they lie and give you the run around. Said they mailed check, never received it. So we know it was never mailed.
We ve purchased two 5th wheels from Funtown Houston and really appreciate their fair pricing, willingness to accommodate and friendly staff. Ashleye Z. in service is awesome. Thank you for taking such great care of our home away from home.
I've been to other RV dealerships. I walked around the lot and no one helped me... Probably because it was hot. Buford was on the lot and answered all my questions fully. If I was gonna buy, it would be solely off the fact their employees pay attention.
We picked up out new trailer in Cleburne...Buford Tidwell helped me so much in locating just the right one for us....He's young man and a very helpful salesman you can find him at the Wharton, Texas Fun Town RV... Paula Eldridge ..Oh Thanks to Phil Thomas for assisting in helping us when we got to Cleburne Texas, Fun Town
Just purchased an RV last week and Kimberly Guillen was an amazing person to work with. She answered all of my questions in a timely manner and guided me through the whole process from start to finish. She did everything to get me approved and was very polite. Fun town RV is a great place to purchase your RV from and I would definitely recommend them.
We brought our 2016 Freedom Express from Funtown. We had a couple of issues each time we contacted the Service department. We were able to get them fix in a timely matter. Gary G. & Ashley - great customer service! Glad that we can do business in our home town. :)
They are the best. They replaced my roof, it is beautiful and they did it in a time sensitive manner as promised. They are the most honest and friendly people which is very rare in the RV world. The staff was always smiling and welcomed me, they also kept in touch with me as they said they would. Patrick was the most amazing manager I have every came across. Words alone can not express my gratitude to them and everything they did to ensure my family was back on the road in time for our vacation. They will forever have my business!!!
Absolutely DO NOT buy into this place! We are a young family that has owned a brand new RV from this exact location and there were several red flags at pick up, we were promised to get back in 4-6 weeks later to fix it all... CRICKETS. Our couch broke one month in, lady never returned my phone call about it. Now we have wet carpet and a wet underbelly that is holding water, and the same manager (Tyler) that helped us buy it, says he does t have time for this and keeps hanging up on my husband. This is happening now. Do not purchase from this place.
We are the proud owners of a 2015Forest River RV Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite. For the wife and I, this is our 1st RV and we enjoy all the pleasures and excitement RVing brings to a family.
I highly recommend utilizing Fun Town RV Houston to New & Existing RV owners. David Kidd, General Manger, Bandy McCarty, Service Manager and employees are incredibly professional, considerately respectful to your concerns, and foremost, will exceed at delivering quality customer service.
I am fortunate & grateful David Kidd and Team of Professionals were available when I needed them!
I will be a lifetime Customer for Fun Town RV Houston!
This RV Dealership can't be beat when it comes to customer service, Patrick is awesome in the service department. When I bought my RV Jarrod the owner even called me to see if everything was ok. Kirby is another great guy! So if you're looking for an RV FunTown RV is the place to go.
This place has some pretty honest sales people working for them Larry, John, Wendy, and M'lis just to name a few are very helpful and good people. I trust that anyone could find their families RV here.
Would not recommend that anyone go to Fun Town Rv in Wharton, Texas. I only went because they had the rv that i really wanted, and i bought it. They didnt fix a stabilizer jack board before i picked it up like they said that they would do. Then they crushed a cargo door when they put the slides in. They tried to blame me, then admitted that they had ordered a new door. Fours months later the 2 parts come in separately, but they cant sent them out separately because they dont want to pay extra ups charge. They tell you one thing and then they do another. Bad customer service, bad communication. You go there at your own risk. I took any and all Fun Town stickers off my rv and will gladly share my experience with anyone who ask.
When dealing with Patrick Utecht and Paul Fonseca, service after the sale is excellent! These guys go above and beyond! They both go out of there way to achieve the highest level of customer service! Patrick ordered the part and Paul drove out and replaced it! These guys are great! Thank you!
This is our first RV and I did allot of research on the Internet and went to several dealerships before going to Fun Town RV. I discovered that Fun Towns' advertised prices were the best I could find in the country.
Well, advertising is often deceptive, so I took the pricing with a grain of salt. What I knew, however; was that the brands Fun Town carries are the ones we we interested in.
Since Fun Town Houston is within easy driving distance, we drove over to take a look.
What we discovered was a good selection of RVs, friendly people and that the advertised prices were not just hype.
On our second visit, we settled on the RV we wanted, but it was over our budget. Like I mentioned, I had done my homework and had an idea of how much off the MSRP others had been able to negotiate, but our choice was still over our budget.
To make the "buying" portion of this short, I'll just say that Fun Town bent over backwards in order to get the cost within our budget and it was not a stressful, high pressure, buy now affair. Charlie Minnick at Fun Town asked us to let him work the situation and he would call us. Bottom line, Charlie came through and we bought the RV. It was just before Christmas.
After buying the RV, we drove several hundred miles to see family for the holidays. Upon arrival, I took the hitch off and noticed a problem which was not visible with it on. I could not tow the trailer safely as it was.
Many places would have tried to dodge the responsibility, but I called Charlie at Fun Town and was ultimately satisfied with the result. They stood up and quickly acknowledge the issue without fuss.
The bottom line is that if a friend wanted an RV and asked me where I would recommend, Fun Town RV is the only place I would feel confident sending them to.
While searching for a new RV in almost a 100 degree July heat, Buford Tidwell was very knowledgeable and professional in helping us choose the perfect RV for us. He was very attentive throughout the process, including introducing us to the service dept. We greatly appreciate his professionalism as it was overall a good experience.
Austin Stout was great! Highly recommend him to others.. Second purchase with Austin, very knowledgeable and courteous James in finance made it easy and worked hard to get best rates. Great job all!!
I went in and talked to J.R. about a camper but I did not buy that day. After shopping around at 7 other dealers I decided that Fun Town RV was giving me a really good deal for the exact camper that I was wanting. The next week I spoke to J.R. on the phone and we were discussing the fact that the camper I wanted had one or two air conditions. I was looking online and it showed one unit and he was telling me it had two units. I asked him about 15 minuets before closing to go out to the trailer and confirm the amount of A\C and to call me back. He never called me back so the next day at 4 pm I walked back into the dealer and started working with Bob and closed the deal with Bob on my new camper. If you would like a good deal on a camper go to Fun Town RV in Wharton and go speak to Bob Mertes because he will go the extra mile to make sure that you are totally satisfied with you camper before you drive off the lot. Now to the service department. I had a second A/C unit installed on my camper and when I went to inspect my camper I went on the roof to inspect the A/C's. The new unit in the front of the trailer had a huge tear or gouge in the side of the cover and the cover only had two of the four screws tight. The other two screws were only about half way down which would have probably made me eventually lose my A/C cover. The main A/C unit cover was not seated down properly on three of the four sides. I am probably one of the few that actually look up there during the inspection process but I am really happy that I did. The service department told me that they would have to order a new cover and I will need to bring the camper back when it comes in. This is a brand new unit that service was going to send off the lot and I was already going to have to bring it back. NOT HAPPY!! I went back inside and spoke to the general manager and he took care of the issue immediately and stated he will not be allowing something like that to leave his lot. Thank you General Manager for taking care of the problem. Long story short if you are looking for a great deal and an excellent salesman that will go the extra mile and beyond go see Bob Mertes at Fun Town RV in Wharton Texas. Do yourself a favor and give your unit a thorough inspection before you leave. Happy Camping!!
Austin Stout was great, he listened to our requirements and located the exact rig we were looking for. Very professional. Would recommend Austin and Funtown RV.
While shopping around for a RV I learned a few things. The one thing that Fun Town does is that the price they advertise is what they sell at (plus TTL). They did not add on to the selling price: freight, set up, delivery fees or any other type of fees that you are not made aware of until you are ready to sign. There was no pressure from the salesman (Larry JR Mendez); I had a few units that I was interested in and he directed me in the right direction. He was very knowledgeable from the beginning to end. Mr. Mendez did a great job of answering all my questions; after my purchase and experiencing some issues with the hitch he went to the extent of coming to my home to assist. Now what other dealer will offer that. Everyone at Fun Town did their jobs well; especially JR. Thank you JR and the employees who all assisted during this purchase.
I had earlier posted a bad review about Fun Town RV, which I now deleted. Here is why I deleted my negative review. The GM, David Kidd was trying to contact me in reference to my bad review, so that we could discuss and hopefully fix the problem. We had major flooding in our area, and evacuated. In the business that I am in, I was on emergency call and could not be reached. However, once everything settled, I was able to contact Mr. Kidd, and he went above and beyond to make my experience with getting my camper repaired (which I didn't purchase from them) right. There was miscommunication with his staff and me on the telephone, which Mr. Kidd assures me that that problem will be fixed. Long story short, When I'm ready to purchase a new RV, I will shop at Fun Town RV first, and as long as the good treatment continues, I will more than likely purchase from them, and keep my business local. Thank You , Fun Town RV.
I don't even know where to begin with this place. We purchased our unit 1 year ago. We informed them that our trade in was in use with all of our belongings. When our unit was done in the "make ready" department they could put them side by side so we could transfer our belongings. So we are sitting there the whole day while our unit is in the "make ready" department. Great! Check everything is good before we leave. It comes time for them to hook up to the truck and guess what no lights. Well its late in the day cause our unit sat in the "Make ready" bay all day. Now they discovered the lights did not work and no one can fix it right now cause its closing time. So its off to a hotel for the night. The next day we get the call that all is good and we can come pick it up. They had our unit parked right next to our trade in and we get to transfer all our belongings. Yay progress right? Well its time to hook up so we can be on our way and the electronic jack system is displaying an error. After a few hours and multiple phone calls they finally get someone who knows how the jacks work and they come over and fix it. Did I mention it spent a whole day in the "make ready" department? So finally we are on our way with our new unit in tow. Happy campers. Finally seeing Funtown in the rear view. We enter the unit and discover an error code when we turn on the fridge. I pull the manual to discover that the error code requires a technician. So on the phone again multiple calls going to the manager. They finally agree to send a technician out to fix the fridge. Great finally all is good. About a month goes by and I get a call from my lender regarding my trade in because they have not received a payment... What I traded that in over a month ago. Many phone calls to the finance department and 2 months after my trade in they finally decided to send the payoff along with the late fees. During this couple months we notice small odds and ins that need repair. Ice maker on fridge not working, surround sound speaker switch that should turn off bedroom speakers actually turns off kitchen speakers, some poorly attached molding. Our job is coming to an end so we drop it off to the dealer for these minor repairs while we have some down time. 2 months later our unit is ready repairs completed. Fast forward.... We have had our unit almost a year and return from a relaxing camping trip and one of the jacks is stuck in the down position. Well that definitely needs fixing while we are still in warranty. I was assured after the troubles we had previously that many changes had been made at the dealership. Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment... We take the unit back to the dealer for repairs. The jack being stuck, a small leak in the water hose to the fridge, the bedroom slide not quite closing completely and a plastic bracket that broke on the closet door. These repairs take 2.5 months. On one of the phone calls the excuse was that the parts for the jack have to be ordered and since its warranty repair. The manufacture has to order the parts and have it delivered to them and after they receive it they ship it out to the dealer. Maybe its just me that finds this utterly ridiculous but hey I'm not an RV dealer. Maybe that's just the way they do things.... So finally after 2.5 months our unit is ready. We go and pick it up and take it to location get all hooked up and what do you know the fridge wont even turn on. It seems to not be getting any power. I call a local repair guy (cause Funtown wont do jack) they discover the circuit board is burnt literally charred. Well Funtown maybe when you fix a leak you should make sure the leak is fixed by turning on the unit you fixed and letting it fill with water to ensure no more leak. If you had you would have realized it wasn't working. So please everyone do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place!! Wow matt.lee thinks the only problem was ordering refrigerator parts..#facepalm
