Fun Town RV Houston Review

This was our first RV purchase and Richard Barton was a big help in choosing the right one for us! He was friendly and knowledgeable about any questions we had. Made our experience easy and painless. When we got there to pick it up, the internet was down, we understand things happen, so Richard and Lucy(in finance) made us as comfortable as possible.

Austin(sales), Chet(finance) & Alyssa(walk-thru) are absolutely amazing!!! They went above and beyond to make the sale! We bought an RV & traded one in basically all online & via text.....we were still in and out in about 2 hours!!! Best experience ever!!!! We will be back!!!

We have nothing but good things to say about this location. A salesman name Tony helped us out from day one. He was very communicative and responsive to all my questions. He even sent me videos of the units I liked. He worked with me on pricing too. He was always kind. I have talked to many salespeople from other RV dealerships in the past few months, and they all were never as helpful as Tony. We ended having to purchase the model we wanted at another FunTown location (Giddings), but he still checked in with me there until I left the lot with RV of my dreams. The working manager (Arturo) was from that location (Giddings) and made sure we were well taken care of at the other location. Such a great team of people at this location and the other.

I ll start off by saying we drove 4 hrs to purchase our brand new 2020 Sabre fifth wheel. I did my research, pulled up every dealer from as far north as Dallas, as far East as Louisiana, and all the way to Corpus Christi. It was a long week of reading reviews, searching prices and looking for the perfect deal. We went on a Friday to their location in Conroe, everyone was nice but they didn t have the trailer we wanted at that location but saw that they had it at the Wharton location. We stayed the night and decided we would call the Wharton location the next morning (Saturday). I say all of that to say this, God knew what he was doing because Ty Spooner answered the phone and he totally got me from the get go, he understood exactly what I wanted, and he is the one who made our minds up to drive the additional 2 hours to purchase our trailer. We get there and he was AMAZING, we brought our 4 and 2 year old to trailer shop with us and he was so patient with them! He joked with them, brought them drinks etc. He was honest with me from the get go and had even made a deal with me over the phone for the trailer I wanted if I chose to come down which was a heck of a deal. $6,000 cheaper than other dealerships. He showed us no more than 3 trailers because those were the ones that matched my exact description of what Me and my husband wanted for our little family! He didn t rush us, he didn t push us to like one or the other. We picked the one we wanted, he worked the deal with the manager. Nearly every employee came and shook our hands or introduced themselves from the manager on down. Our kids were extremely patient all day, there were several people there buying campers which says a lot in itself so we had to wait our turn to sign papers. Mario the General Sales Manager brought out this huge tub of candy and chocolate and sat it down onto the table in front of our kids and said, here I m not even going to ask your parents, eat it all if you want! They loved him. He has a funny personality. We get to finance and James is from Scotland and so so sweet and patient. He doesn t rush you, triple checks that you don t have any questions and overall just an easy experience. We told them we needed the trailer the next day and they delivered! We ended up staying there nearly 7 hours by the time we found our perfect trailer did the deal, and then we stayed instead of coming back the next day to do the walk through (we wouldn t have had to be there that long, we chose to cram everything in one day) In all that time with a 4 and 2 year old the whole staff was so friendly and it was definitely a family atmosphere. Bryan the service manager was very nice and helpful on our walk through. My son (4) hadn t had a nap all day, and was hyped up on candy but when we started to leave he wanted to give Mr. Bryan and Mr. Ty a hug. Sweetest thing ever. That night when we all prayed together as a family he made sure we prayed for Mr. Ty! It was an amazing experience, stress free as possible, and the best deals and customer service! They even gave us a delivery service contact and we had our trailer delivered to our location Sunday so we wouldn t have to go get our truck and come back another 4 hours! They have a HUGE selection and you will NOT be disappointed but you have to ask for Ty Spooner, trust me! We will send everyone here no matter the distance.

This is the first RV I've bought that has had so many issues for a new trailer. WE have had 3 new trailer before this one.
Bought a 2015 Wildwood Heritage Glen Lite, the problems are numerous. The prices are good however I don't think their quality of serve is any good or they would not have sent this trailer off the lot until the below issues were fixed.
It leaks in the rain around the outside door to the sink and refrigerator. The exhaust fan in the bathroom doesn't work. Three of the pull down curtains are broke they won't go up because strings are broke. The awning was installed backwards! GEEZ Terry Vaugh RV had better serve we never got a new trailer from them with so many problems.
We had originally wanted a different trailer. But when my husband went to pick it up there was water in the bathroom. They had tested the water lines and no one saw the shower leaked and flooded the bathroom until we pointed it out to them.They wanted us to take that one with water damage and we wouldn't so I'm beginning to feel like they pawned a lemon on us. I would not recommend this rv company to anyone.

Thank Larry for your great sales service and attention. For the rest, go and have your oen experience. I pray and hope you don't get dissapointed like me.

Terrible customer service after you drive off the lot with your new RV. Promised missing parts and still trying to get them.

I only needed a 5f piece of pex ..I was in and out in a few minutes..Helpful guy thx.

After keeping our trailer for over 3 months (Originally quoted 4 to 6 weeks) for simple repairs and speaking with multiple people repeatedly to figure out what was taking so long, we were contacted saying our fifth wheel was FINALLY ready for pickup that the only thing that wasn't done was our awning lights because they hadn't received them yet but that was a simple fix that we could do ourselves and Fun Town and I agreed that they would just ship those to us separately. When we arrived to pick up our trailer (After renting a truck to do so which Fun Town knew about) they said that NOTHING had been done and that we may or may not be able to take it with us that day! Are you freaking kidding me?!? We calmly explained to the repair serviceman our situation and he apologized and sent someone to fix everything right away. We waited patiently for over 5 hours for our trailer to be worked on that day and were not given a walk through like we should have got. Once we got it to the RV park and set up we soon realized that absolutely nothing had been done except the one thing they told us wouldn't be!! Never, and I mean NEVER take your trailer to Fun Town for servicing and honestly I wouldn't buy from them either as our trailer's doors, windows, and a slide out were not installed correctly and leaked and broken because of it! Just pitiful! Also, one of our leaks that they "supposedly" fixed somehow got even worse!

Me and my wife purchased a 27 footer rev trailer last year 2018, we paid to have it delivered to the storage place were it was damaged by their delivery driver. We contacted the salesman about the damaged done to the RV .till this day nothing has been done about it ,they have been giving us the run around.

Visited this dealer per recommendation from a friend. The deal they offered was borderline insulting on my trade. When the salesman went back to see if he could get us a better deal, he came back with the GM, or so he claimed to be. He never identified himself by title or name. He was very rude and condescending to my wife and myself. The comments he made about my trade, which is about 1 1/2 years oldand in great condition, were very out of line and unnecessary. His attitude when he entered the room was so poor that my wife immediately stood up to leave and it went downhill from there. Needless to say, we will not be returning there in the future. The owners should really evaluate this person and replace him with someone who knows how to treat a customer. Even though we couldn't make a deal that day I might have returned in the future for another try but not now.

Last summer we stopped by after a camping trip to Fun Town. We met with Christian who was very friendly. We liked the type of campers they carried... Sandpiper, Sabre and Chaparral. Christian would follow up with me every few months by email or phone. We finally decided to pull the trigger and bought the Chaparral 360IBL. I have looked all over Houston as well as RV Trader for a new camper with more space. By far, they have the best pricing and a GREAT selection.
Lucy, a lovely lady, does a great job working on the financing. Also the tech person who walked us through our camper was informative and helpful.
We are thrilled with our purchase!! Thanks, Christian for working with us! Your British accent sealed the deal!

Update: I bought a Heartland Trail Runner back in April. As of today, the main refrigerator broke down and smells awful (like AMMONIA). The sewer lines from the kitchen sink and black tank #1 are merged. And the electrical heater does not work.
The OWNER never reached out to me like he said below.
I tried filling a warranty claim through Heartlanr, but they still haven't even REGISTERED my RV!!! #Heartland told me the RV is still registered under Funtown RV. Mario Montana said they're behind because of #COVID19
My hands are tied and keep having to pay out of pocket for extra gas and a small refrigerator now.
Funny thing is that Heartland told me they could get the parts out to me in less than a week but Funtown takes at least 6 weeks just to get my RV in their shop.
I've sent 3 customers to them of which 2 bought an RV. NOT ANYMORE! Worst customer service experience ever.

Experience was very good here. They did everything they said they would and even gave me a reasonable quote on my trade in sight unseen and when I showed up with it and it was in the excellent condition I said it was they honored their quote and didn t try to quibble about. I have to say that would surprise me with anyone but they held to their word I worked with Austin at the Wharton location and would use him again.

Absolutely the best RV center in Texas, Excellent service department.
From my purchase last year, picking it up, being taught all the about the Toy Hauler, and a warranty issue this year, All my experiences have been meet and surpassed by them. Gary , thank you for your time today explaining the warranty repair. And NO cost to me....I will encourage all potential RV buyers to give Funtown RV in Wharton a try, EXCELLENT SERVICE DEPT!

When fun town rv says they want your business they mean it. I had been dealing with Anthony at the Conroe store, and when he found out I was thinking about buying my Travel Trailer from a different dealership because he didn t have the model I wanted he looked it up and found an exact match at the Wharton store. He sent me Buford Tidwell s information and got us in contact. Buford took over and did everything he could to make sure we would buy from Fun Town. When we made the deal he turned it over to James in financing, and he did a great job and I got an outstanding rate. When I came to pick up my unit Buford did an extensive walk through since we were newbies, and the maintenance tech who was hooking my sway bars up was very informative on things and great. We took our RPod to be serviced for warranty work to Fun Town RV Houston. They were so thorough and attentive that we decided to upgrade and purchase a new Coachman Freedom Express. The sales staff was excellent and willing to answer all our questions. Thank you David "Bob" M for your help and attention to detail.

They made the purchase of a new 5th Wheel much easier than I had expected. Everyone at the dealership was helpful and friendly. Buford Tidwell the salesman that I worked with was helpful in every way.

We just purchased a new fifth wheel and we are extremely happy with the whole process.
I never take the time to write reviews good or bad but I feel it's necessary nowadays to let businesses know when they have good employees and great prices. We already had a Travel Trailer but was looking to trade in and upgrade, after shopping around at several RV Dealerships for a couple of months I started looking online and found what I wanted and then found that Fun Town offered the best price. We drove to FunTown this past Sunday (2 hour drive for us) and Tanner was our salesman he was very nice and helpful and made the whole experience fast and easy. He's not a pushy salesperson, he answered all of our questions and was very informative about the hitch we had to have installed on our truck.
We made a deal and by Wednesday everything was ready! So we drove the old camper in and signed papers on the new one, did our walk through and I don't remember that mans name but he was extremely nice as well. They installed our hitch and we were good to go!!
Extremely happy with our salesman Tanner and the whole process everyone in the building was very friendly!

I found a mistake in price when I was sending my paperwork to my insurance company. I was overcharged by $995 plus tax. This was partially my fault since I didn't catch it when I signed the papers. When I brought the error to the attention of the salesman, the finance manager and the sales manager they said nothing could be done about it since I had signed the paperwork. I blame myself for not catching the error, but the attitude with which I was treated when I brought this to the attention of the sales manager and the salesman--was--"it's not my fault--I did nothing wrong. We sell too many units to remember all the details on all the trades." I would like to think the error was an honest key punch error, but was it? I would still recommend Fun Town RV, just make sure you check and double check your numbers before signing anything.

My parents have purchased two trailers from Fun Town RV Houston. They have been treated very well. The sales department and parts department are top notch!

I ve bought now 3 rvs from two different fun town locations. Every sales person I had was SUPER helpful and personal. It gave us that great feeling and made this process painless. Until last time, recently. The general manager came into my trailer I was trading in and stole something off my counter top, and tried to cover it up. They handled the situation somewhat quickly, and right. In the end. So overall the experience I ve had with them was great, until that happened.

Not too bad on selection or prices but definitely have some bad practices. The finance department is very crooked.

I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the market looking for a camper!

They don t even deserve a star at all. I asked the questions needed before buying a used rv with them and I was assured everything was ok. First day & it rains and there s water in it. Bad customer service worst experience ever I do not recommend them what s so ever. Don t fall for their words or their friendliness. That all changes once you sign! IF YOU WANT TO BUY FROM THEM ! Dave "Bob" Mertes really helped us out on making the right decisions on our new 38FKOK Sandpiper RV. We bought a new toy hauler a couple of weeks ago at the Wharton location and I wish we could say our experience was five stars. After the sale, don't expect much. I have inquired twice about a small issue and have not heard back from our salesman. Basically we have received excuses for lack of communication and also for our unit not being ready at the agreed upon time. There are other issues that I am waiting for the sales manager to return my call, it's now going on 3 days that I left him a voicemail. You should not have to leave a poor review to get decent customer service, especially after making a big purchase like we did.

I was very disappointed with fun town rv in Wharton tx at first due to a couple of misunderstandings and me being an out of state client. I am sure a happy camper now with all the help of Tye, Adrian and Brian out there in fun town rv!!!!

Hey guys Kim is the female agent here and made my experience amazing. She kept things clear cut to the point but answered by questions accordingly. I personally like to have a woman help with my purchase because they think of what a mom needs!

We drove 150 miles to shop at Fun Town RV of Houston. You could not get a better deal anywhere. They were prompt in communications, took pictures if the actual trailer and did everything a head of time so our time was spent at the dealership going over our rv. They were friendly and helpful. You haven t done your research and shopping until you ve talked with them. Ask for Beuford!!!

Today's experience was great. Stopped in to get my trailer inspected and was in and out 30 minutes. And that was taking our time so I would have been in and out a lot quicker. Also had a little time to look at some of the new inventory thinking about upgrading at some point. Very convenient place on 59 to stop in and look at RVs.

Sales process went great. 3 months into having the RV we had issues that required service. We had to wait several (and I mean several) weeks just to get the unit in and now it's a constant struggle to get a update. "We'll get right back to you" is the response and that call or email just doesn't come.

Update: after calling the Quality Assurance department, all is great. Thanks for the help from QA and I have adjusted my review to reflect that.

My wife and our children went here to buy a camper, I don t recommend this place to anyone especially if it s the end of the month there were a couple of guys that helped and did their best, the others gave us the run around we stayed there for 6 hours after bringing our old camper in for trade in, only to leave with nothing because the test process was started the day we were supposed to pick the camper up. The slide out was broke, my wife 3 kids and myself had to stay in another camper of a friend for 5 days waiting for another one to come to the dealer. We have multiple issues with this brand new camper and it doesn t seem to concern them a bit. Oh and to top it all off, while looking at the broke camper we were supposed to bring back we were instructed on where to park our vehicle, one of the workers didn t know that we were standing by the door and he asked a couple of the other guys there if this was a f***ing parking lot, when confronted he acted innocent, I will say this the staff handled the situation good and had him removed from the area.

The sales associate Ernest had excellent customer service! He was very close to making a deal yet we were off about $800. He then referred me to Mario Montano the sales manager. This is where things get interesting. One of the first things Mario told me over the phone was his 15 years of sales experience... Red flag 1. Please Mario if your reading this that's not how you pick low hanging fruit, when it comes to closing a deal. #2 Texas summers are hot in most any camper..so please don't proceed to tell me that my style of camper is hotter . I mean you should really stop selling pop up campers if that's the case. In closing I will gladly take my business elsewhere, although this would have been my second purchase from the Wharton facility. Beware of Mario the manager with 15 years of experience .

I met Buford outside of FunTown and asked about RVs... he answered all my questions about financing and units very well. I plan to go look at floor plans that meet my needs here in the near future. And this is my salesman!

Went to the fun town rv in Wharton to support my sister and mother in getting their rv and was very pleased with the help Alyssa gave. She gave us a thorough finishing tour of our rv and helped with anything we had a problem with! James helped us with our financial situation and helped my sister with everything she needed to know about getting her first rv! I highly recommend fun town rv especially in Wharton .

Great service from the sales team and good information from the service team. Helped us find exactly what we needed and spent a lot of time making sure we were set.

On a recent visit to the store, I was greeted by friendly people. The sales manager, Smitty, was very helpful. He answered all of my questions. If you are looking for a store that will help you find a perfect unit, this is the place!

It was worth the 1 1/2 drive. No pressure, no bs. We worked with Jeremy. He was honest and up front. We already refereed a few friends.

I went in and looked at Rvs and my saleman was Buford and he was awesome and answers all my question. I will definitely be back to purchase one.

After deciding to down grade travel trailers to a smaller unit we decided to go with Fun town where we purchased our first. We were given a trade in offer on our current trailer and picked a new one out. Everything was agreed on all the way to the buyers order and deposit made.Buyers order was sent to credit union and everything was in process..I then received a call from them and was told a "mistake" was made and they offered me 10,000 less than the deal agreed on paper. Highly dissatisfied I told them to cancel everything and have not heard from them! I would highly reccomend not doing business with these type of people,and i'm not real sure how you stay in business making "mistakes" like this??

Nothing but good to say about the service we received at this place. We pulled in after experiencing a problem with our travel trailer. Despite the place being very busy, the service manager went out of his way to fix our problem and get us back on the road as quickly as possible. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

My wife and I purchased a new RV and Bufford Tidwell was an excellent salesperson. He did not pressure us at all. He answered all of our questions. We highly recommend Bufford.

Me & my wife are very pleased with our purchase! We just drove off the loft a couple of hours ago. Austin did an amazing job at helping us find what we wanted, very knowledgeable and, welcoming, and friendly. Tyler the manager was very kind also, he made our pockets happy, as did Chet, in financing. Kim was also very friendly and Will did awesome showing us everything we needed to know about our RV before we left their lot. Will definitely be coming back in the future !

Overall great experience so far. Our salesman Tye Spooner was awesome during the sales process and has been more than helpful with questions since then. The service department has also been great so far. We had an issue with the air conditioner a few days ago. The service department installed a whole new air conditioner in less than 45 minutes (no charge, warranty). I got there at noon and was back on the road to the camp ground at 12:45. Couldn't ask for any better service than that! Hope to continue doing business with them in the future.

I have never left a review before and I am not real tech savy, but I felt compelled to make sure this pIace got the praise it deserves. I drove more than 1 hour to get to the Wharton Funtown Rv location. They had an RV I Was interested in. After buying the RPOD and going camping the same night I picked it up, I noticed there were 2 scratches on my New RPOD and a Light switch was missing a screw, the seal around the Large Window by the kitchen had issues and our Tv mount was not in a good position for watching tv. I spoke to the General Sales Manager and he connected me with Jack Oliver and Patrick from Service. Both were awesome. They both walked the RPOD with me addressing all my concerns. Then Jack promised to have it ready before the following Friday, so I would not miss a camping weekend of the summer season. He had it done in less than 4 days...... That's integrity. Special Thanks to Jack Oliver, Patrick, and the entire service crew at Funtown RV Wharton. As long as, I keep getting great service like that, I will tell everyone I can to shop at Funtown or get your RV service done at Funtown Rv Wharton. Thanks Again.

The wife and I knew we wanted a bunk house travel trailer, and I knew I wanted to buy from the Wharton location for convenience. We showed up Sunday expecting to meet a sales person with whom I had communicated with via email, but instead met Buford Tidwell. We explained to Buford what we were looking for and just wanted to look at all the options in person so we could make our final decision. Buford let us look at any travel trailer we wanted and never pressured us into anything. Once we made our decision, he started the whole paperwork process and made it as easy as all that stuff can be. Over the next couple days Buford stayed in touch to let me know how the whole deal was moving along and to tell me when I would be able to pick up our new trailer. This man even came in on his day off to make sure the final walk through and departure went smooth. We are extremely pleased with our experince at Fun Town RV in Wharton and Buford Tidwell is a big reason why.

I would say the place needs a make over. Muddy everything is just a lil awkward to be looking at Travel trailers. The people there did make the 3 stars. Jennifer was very knowledgeable while Tom was not as knowledgeable of the thing he had sold. Overall they were ok.

Just bought my first RV trailer from Fun Town RV. Was worth the hour drive from Houston to Wharton. My salesman Badar was very helpful in making my selection (2018 Puma XLE 25TFC) . No other dealership had a better deal on the Price and Amazing customer service. The team at Fun Town RV went above and beyond from sales to Badar coming in on his day off to go through checklist for pick up and he waiting past closing until I finally has my insurance taken care of before driving off. Overall would highly recommend!

I do not recommend this place. A few days after I purchased my rv the inside of my camper was wet due to slight rain. Their methods to check leaks are while they are washing the rv with the water hose thats nothing compared how they told me they would tested They were supper professional while making the sale and of course after we needed assistance they were being rude. I was told to take my camper to get fixed and even after they fixed the problem it still leaked. I tried to contact them so many times and no answer. Now that I finally got a response they want to charge me something that should have been in good condition in the first place. I purchased since January 27/20 and my paper license plates expired in March and I haven t received my license plates. I want to take it to get check again and now I don t know how to since I don t have them. They have poor lack of customer service and a poor lack of equipment to check their merchandise.
I really think thats a scam what they did to me

I had a problem with my new Keystone fifth wheel. Keystone customer service sent me to Fun Town in Wharton, Texas. Patrick and Johnathan were Awesome! Got the furnace fixed in two hours and sent us on our way!! These guys are the best!

Awesome place! We drove from south of Houston two weeks ago "just looking" based upon a neighbor's recommendation. Within a few hours, we had signed papers for a new travel trailer.

Bedar was our salesman and treated us very well before, during, and after the transaction.

My family was so excited to finally purchase an RV.
M' Lis was so very helpful and she worked diligently to get everything in order for us with our crazy schedule. Unfortunately, we had to back out of the purchase at the very last minute because we found out our son who is disabled, needed additional surgery and an upgraded motorized wheelchair. We had already put our money down for the travel trailer we intended to buy as well as signing a contractual agreement forfeiting our deposit. After explaining our situation with the Manager, Mr. David Kidd, he quickly and without hesitation refunded our deposit in full. I cannot express enough gratitude for this, especially considering the circumstances. I consider this a huge blessing to our family, as I know legally they were able to keep the deposit .
Even though we have yet to purchase an RV from funtown Rv, we wholly and fully intend on it in the future. I am writing this review because our family is extremely appreciative of the hard work they have done for us, only to get nothing in return. I would highly recommend them to anyone. We purchased a 2019 Rockwood Ultralight 2304S and we couldn't be happier with it. Our experience was pleasant from the time we started looking until we drove off. We started with Buford however when we arrived, he was tied up and Austin took over. These two Sales guys were very knowledgeable, honest, and helpful. Joshua in Finance went over our paperwork with us. He was super nice and, although he was training for another store, we know he is a great asset to Funtown. Our final dealing was the walkthrough with Patrick in Service. He was so patient and explained everything. We did purchase the optional observation camera and Melanie happily took our money LOL. All in all I would recommend Funtown. Great folks to deal with!

We started our journey looking for travel trailers and came across Fun Town RV Houston. We submitted online a request about the trailer's that we we interested in , and minutes later we received a call. We then we're speaking to a sales rep that took the time to answer a few basic questions about products and services. We then met with the sales man and he took the time on multiple trips to take us around looking at each unit that were curious about. Staff on site are friendly. The finance department worked hard to get our information submitted and approved. The sales manager took time to help answer questions. The GM took the time to speak with us and worked with us through some concerns, was friendly, helpful and delight to deal with.

After shopping around we settled on Fun Town RV Houston. Their prices were lower than other dealers on the same units. The sales staff and service department was always helpful and courteous. General Manager David Kidd was involved with our sale due to ordering a trailer from the factory. David kept an open line of communication with us and made sure we were satisfied. Before making a purchase elsewhere its worth a drive to check out Fun Town.

I bought an Rv from them and had nothing but trouble with the Rv and don t even live a mile from them and can t get nothing fixed without them saying it s not covered under warranty and want to charge skyrocketed prices to have it fixed out of pocket I won t recommend any of my family to them or anyone else

Recently purchased a travel trailer from Fun Town. Everyone was outstanding. From our sales associate, M'lis, to the guys that performed the punch list, we couldn't have been treated better. Everyone was kind and respectful. Highly recommend.
