Best Carrot cake ever!! Twice a year for 2 birthdays.
The berries pie is so good. My family doesn't eat much sweet but they love dessert from here.
Like the cakes but customer service on the phone is poor, rude actually. Didn't even want to order anymore. Previous times were good, not sure what happened.
The place is really small, but the staff and pastries are awesome!
The staff is very kind and will answer questions. Coffee is fresh, tastes nutty.
This is a an expensive bakery, but well worth the money. If you get there early enough, get the morning bun. It's a cross between a cinnamon bun and a crossiant. It has an orange flavor and some glaze. It's much better than the version that comes from a can. They have coffee and tea. A small eating area inside and out. I usually get my order to go.
Wish I had pics. Delicious, if you live within 50 miles it's well worth the trip. And if you're visiting gotta try it. If you open one up in Roseville that would be epic:) till then I still make the trip. Great selection great tastes
I love Freeport Bakery's Fresh Fruit Tart. The crust and custard on the bottom is decadent and rich, and it is covered with a beautiful layer of colorful fresh fruits including kiwi, peach, strawberries, blueberries and raspberries, and blackberries. I like to purchase the fruit tart for birthdays as a more healthy option since many of my friends and family are health conscious. It is not as rich as a full cake, but makes an artistic presentation and is still a very tasty dessert.
I love the Ken doll cake don't stop making them. This is life people needs to face it.
Long time customer that will no longer be patronizing Freeport. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me recently. I go in, order a cake, and pay for it. I come back in to pick it up and go directly to the cake pickup counter on the "exit" side. I am told that I need to go back over to the line that you wait in if you want to purchase/select and/or pay for items.
The 1st time I had to wait in line behind about a dozen people (long wait). This 2nd time there was one person ahead of me. Once I get up to the register the cashier then sends me back over to the SAME counter that I started at and tells me someone will get my cake. I ask the woman at the cake counter "Why do you do that?" (Send me over to another line to wait, when they send me right back.) This is precisely why I prepay for the cake so I can come in and JUST PICK IT UP and not have to wait behind people deciding whether or not they want the cream puff or the cookie.
They all ignore me. Then the woman at the cake counter who's done nothing this whole time but bus plates while I'm standing there waiting says to me "It's just policy." I am so tired of hearing this phrase. It's like saying to the customer "I just don't give a damn about what you want." I tell her it's stupid and policies sometimes don't work. I wasn't going to go any further with my frustration to employees that blindly follow unwritten, asinine "policies" that do nothing but frustrate and inconvenience customers. If I was in her position I would have said "Let me wash my hands and I'll go get your cake." Simple as that. It's called customer service delivered with some common sense.
Hard to find parking, but excellent cookies and cake, and a pleasant and efficient staff.
Freeport bakery made out wedding cake. It was beautiful and delicious. All of the guests loved the cake and so did our coworkers and friends we shared with after the wedding. Thank you very much. There was a small mishap with our cake topper(my mom was supposed to put it on but the lady that dropped of the cake did instead. We were able to fix this though as it was put on wrong.)
We will be back for birthday cakes and anniversaries
Thank you
We were out for a bike ride with my boy. When we're in the neighborhood with our bike we normally make a stop at Marie's Doughnuts a few steps away. Running a little later than usual the doughnut shop was closed.
When we opened that door a pleasant aroma of fresh baked goods hit our senses. While waiting in the cue we debated about cookies to brownies. By the time we placed our order apple pie had won our discussion.
We had a great experience with my boy that day from the great quality of the baked goods, to the coffee to the tremendous customer service.
Convenient bike parking outside the door to boot.
This is the other bakery in Sacramento that deserves major praise. Despite its tiny location, people continue to drive in and get cakes and pastries by the bag full. Seating is extremely limited, so expect long lines for both purchasing and enjoying your treats, unless you take out
$45 dollar delivery fee for a destination 2 miles away...cost twice as much as the cake I ordered. Never again.
Just went to pick up a cake for my best friends birthday and they were so organized with keeping everyone at a safe distance! We were a little concerned that we were going to be waiting for a while due to the long line but everything ran smoothly and we hardly had to wait. I truly appreciate their efforts on keeping everyone safe.
I got their white chocolate iced mocha and their chocolate fudge cake and both were amazing! The fudge in the cake was super rich and everyone loved it!
I love this place, I know it's a little small but it has an old country feel and they are my favorite for life best food ANYWHERE ( sorry Mom) this bakery takes me back to my childhood
Like this little bakery/cafe fixture of Sacramento. Occasionally stop in for the fresh n' delicious little pastries and assorted baked breads, usually full of energy but equally pleasant atmosphere.
Love the big selection of cakes and pastries. Must try!! Always fresh and yummy.
I stopped in on the Friday before my birthday after a day at the zoo. The place is small and it was pretty busy but the line went quickly as there were plenty of friendly employees to keep things moving.
I took way too long to decide on a cake because honestly, every single one of them looked delicious. The gal that helped me was so patient and never made me feel rushed while she was helping me and answered all of my questions. She gave great cake descriptions and as helpful as she was, it made it even harder to choose!
All the cakes are beautifully decorated and you can tell there is great pride in their recipes as well as presentation.
I ended up selecting a chocolate cake with lady fingers wrapped around it, and tied around with a pink ribbon. The bottom layer was moist and fluffy chocolate cake, then the top 2/3 was the most delicious, fluffy, intensely chocolate (without being overly sweet), smooth chocolate mousse. And then to top it all off was an incredibly silky and smooth ganache that I could eat every single day. It was decorated with chocolate leafs and fresh strawberries on top.
Some may feel that these cakes are a little pricey, but in reality they are not. They are the highest quality cakes that are beautifully and skillfully decorated so you are definitely getting a quality product that you paid for.
Stop in and check this place out the next time you want a *real* cake because you will not be disappointed. And if you are, bring your cake to my house and I will eat it for you!
Great place to get birthday cakes, they are the bomb!! Been going here for 25 years!
Parking isn't the best in the bakery area. Be prepared to park past the McDonald's during busy hours .
The "morning bun" is definitely something worth trying once. You will notice the format is just a different shape to the popular "palmiers". In short, I wouldn't recommend driving across town for it.
Awful customer service. There are definitely a few bad apples in this establisment.
Especially the owners.
I made an order for Thanksgiving and
My brother and his family found a piece of PLASTIC in their pie. Thankfully, the kids didnt swallow the pie, my nephew threw it up. We just wanted a refund on the pie since no one got hurt and the pie was no longer edible. If i had known we were going to get a tongue lashing, i wouldve told them to keep the money because we were no longer going to be customers.
At first they didn't want to refund the pie. And said it wasnt theirs. But my sister mentioned the FDA, and they finally started cooperating.
Marlene's husband told her it was an apple core and asked if she's ever eaten an apple. Was that a racial comment because we're not white? Racist or not he was very condescending... in front of many people in the bakery.
If an adult couldn't bite into it... what makes you think a 3 year old would?
First of all, a baker who is conscious of children eating apple pies (especially on Thanksgiving)... would know not to include the core. Apple seeds also have cyanide. Which means... shouldnt you take safe measure and not put apple cores in your pies?
Hey, Freeport, do you know what cyanide is???
I'm sure the FDA know what that is.
We were customers since they opened. And we're never EVER going back to Freeport. Thanks for being awful!
Nice quite little neighbor hood spot baked goods sit and have morning coffee . Little pricey
Love this place. Delicious. My favorite cake is tiramisu.
Their oatmeal cookies are the best cookies I've ever eaten. AND I DONT LIKE OATMEAL COOKIES.
Favorite Baker. Ever. Had my wedding cake made by these guys.
All our special day cakes come from Freeport. Happiness in a lil pink box. We ve never been disappointed. Delicious!
Awesome bakery that will make you anything you need. I order all of my holiday baked goods here and they always deliver. There was one instance where a birthday cake was made incorrectly and they offered me a free replacement right away. I am very satisfied with the products and the service here.
The best bakery in Sacramento. In business for over 25 years Freeport bakery serves many different cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and delicious drinks. The quality of their food is second to none and they make fantastic wedding cakes and custom cakes. This is the only bakery my family goes to.
Super!!!!!!!! Great place beautiful cakes awesome tasty delicious pastries definitely have to go there!!!!!!!!!
One of the best places in the Sacramento area for a morning pastry!
I needed flowers for my wedding cake and they wouldn't sell them to me
My wife LOVES this place, as the corner bakery is about her favorite kind of place. The price/quality ratio is pretty fair, which means that for me (who doesn't love bakeries) it's a bit too expensive. But if you're into fancy cookies and cakes, this place will not disappoint.
Got my sister's wedding cake from here it was good said everyone that ate it
I do not recommend this place. Dry cake, unpleasant.
The apple pie was sooo good. Should've bought the whole pie.
Better than Starbucks for a cozy atmosphere and good pastry and coffee.
I purchased a cake custom cake on 10/02/17 picked it up on 10/7/2017, the design was great but the cake was nasty. Not one guest ate there cake it was the most embrassing moments EVER! When you have children who typically LOVE cake throw it away talking about it taste like butter. I tasted it and confirmed it tasted like butter. I called the bakery the next morning at 8am but the lines were not yet open I called back again 10 minutes later, requested for a supervisor. I was greeted by Amy she said to bring a sample of the cake that day or before the week is up. I went in spoke to Amy she confirmed that the cake tasted like butter. She stated that they couldn't do a refund without speaking to the general manager the next day she did go to say it's possible I received a bad batch. It lacked Sugar. (Her words) she also went to say that if a refund is not granted that they will issue me $70.00 credit. Today I received a call from the manager Anne she said she tasted the cake it tasted fine. She then proceed to say she spoke with the owner they are not willing to issue a refund only 40.0p credit. Then goes to say what Amy said to me is not what was said basically saying I'm lying. There was other employees present when it was said. First off the first step would of been they should have offered to redo the cake being that I paid over $120.00. Over the years I've had Freeport bakery cakes and I'm very disappointed in my service. OVER all I will not order from them again and neither will any of my guest.
I love this place, I've been going ever since I was a kid.
Wish I had a photo of the beautiful cake I got as a surprise for my friends Birthday. It was a delicious as it was beautiful. Freeport Bakery NEVER disappoints!
You have to visit! A gem of a bakery in town. Cakes for all occasions, coffee for when you make it a stop and enjoy a slice, and very friendly staff. Artisan is the word that comes to mind. Another one world be just yummy.
I pre-ordered a cake and cupcakes for a surprise baby shower. I arrived today to find that my order was never made and the receipt was lost. I was refunded my full amount, but I will never use this bakery ever again.
One of the best pastry shops in Sacramento. Fruit basket cake is a must try.
Decorations really special, biscotti very good. Easy to get in and out fast.
Delicious cake! And that was just from our cake trial!
Freeport Bakery is EASILY one of the best bakeries in Sacramento. I go for the chocolate covered coconut macaroons when I'm in the area, and it's a family staple for birthday cakes. They even created a beautiful cake for my father-in-laws celebration of life. The fruit basket is the go-to classic cake, but honestly everything is amazing. If you're considering going but have never been, just do it!
Every single time we have an office birthday, baby shower or random day where people need cake, Freeport is a must. The fruit basket cake is always the favorite, but the salted caramel cake is also pretty amazing. The shop is small and adorable, the staff is friendly and the selection of baked goods is tasty. Love it.
Excellent service. Excellent desserts. I love place.
They're consistent. Always great bakes. My favorites are their croissants, pretzels, & chocolate chip cookies. Top it all, just a quick 5 minute walk from home.
We ordered the champagne cake for baby shower it was on hit
Probably the best bakery in Sacramento. I love getting pastries on Sundays..everyone's always happy when I bring them home.
Probably the cutest bakery in Sacramento! Love the mural on the outside. Great for a photo opportunity while getting a tasty treat. I take my kids here often for the best cake pops and palmiers. In a cute, walkable Land Park neighborhood.
Get your work done. In a family oriented low-key setting. Not the gym atmosphere.
Very delicious bread and nice people! Would definitely come back when in the area.
Beautiful selection of cakes and pastries! My kids love going to Freeport bakery for a yummy treat!
This bakery is so overrated. They have horrible customer service. They could not even do a simple picture on a cake. I had to cancel my order. I will never go there again. Just unprofessional.
This bakery is excellent & it has a very cozy atmosphere. It's always crowded but it goes quickly.
The trip across town is worth the delightful baked goods. If you need something to go with your coffee, Freeport Bakery, has it !
