Absolutely do not go to this place.

We had booked for 2 nights, But apparently checking in isnt possible after 7pm. We called to try and come to an agreement, stating we would be 10 minutes late, But the receptionist did not care. After 7 they wont let you in anymore. I have never experienced such an unitinterested worker, that basically told us to get lost and go away even tough we were standing in front of the building 5 past 7.

The hostel is not very clean and the stairs are a accident waiting to happen. But the host is welcoming and there's all you can eat all day breakfast. Efforts have been made to make this place feel welcoming and it does so as the host allows you to bring your own food in and.cook it as well

A few weeks ago I spent a night in this hostel with a group of friends. Considering the pictures on the website, it seemed to be fine, until we got there:

Upon entering we were greeted with a sigh by 'the receptionist'. There must have been a fart, because she didn't seem to like it.
When we all received the stained bedding as prisoners, we were shown the way to the beds. We shared our room with other victims from various countries.
While there were lockers to store your valuables, your bag was accessible to everyone.

We took a tour of the hostel.
BEWARE!! the following text may be shocking (not for the sensitive reader):

On the second floor there was a toilet with disco light and a hall to a kind of balcony. It was a complete mess in this hall. Sand, rubbish, no tiling and a paradise for rats and other vermin (we did not find these, however).
On the 3rd floor there were other sleeping areas and a shower room. Normally you are supposed to feel clean and refreshed when you get out of the shower, but here the opposite was the case. The shower room had 3 sinks, 1 of which nearly fell off the wall. For the effort there was only a dragon from a mirror hung on a hook that normally hangs a towel. I myself only walked in to take pictures of this gang.

In this hostel everyone gets a pass. With this pass you can open the front door and the door to the sleeping area. It's a good thing we did a quick test on departure to see if the passes worked, as none had been activated to open the door. We had to do this afterwards: S

Strange that you feel like you want to leave as soon as possible. The next day we had to check out before 4 pm. This was more than achieved.

Save yourself 30, - euros for an overnight stay + breakfast in this shack and spend that money in a hotel or something. We did not start with breakfast, because in the kitchen cupboard was a plate with leftovers where the fungus could take a life of its own. Raunchy tent.

Negative: the rest

AVOID! This hostel has some cool staff but the place is a dump!

Bedsheets were clearly unwashed and many had stains on them, body fluids and liquids. Floor was dirty and dusty, bathrooms and showers were not clean, sinks had dirt/rust in them. When I checked in, the rooms were clearly disorganized and the lady said things like yeah we need to buy new pillows for tomorrow.

I ended up just moving to another hostel, as did another woman who arrived when I did since we were both sketched out. At my new hostel, when I told the front desk where I was changing from, they kind of nodded their heads and said yeah we ve heard about that place.

For the same price or less, you can easily find better hostels in Utrecht.

A low budget hostel with heart. If you're looking for a friendly place, but your budget does not allow to much room for luxury, this hostel is perfect. I felt safe and welcome.

I spent about six weeks living in this hostel during the summer of 2013 and it was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. The value was immense; the cost per night was low and the god provided was ample. Water pressure in the shower was unimpressive and there were, as to be expected, sometimes critters that came through due to people leaving food out in common areas from doors often left open with the nice weather. Front entrance was very secure.

I had a blast meeting people from all over at this hostel. Would undoubtedly return if in Utrecht again.

Not super clean, but the atmosphere and hospitality is good. We received a lot of food for during cycling! Ao a melon plus a knife!

Friendly hostel with nice staff, meals included, but not particularly clean. It's a student hostel so don't expect much but it comes at a very honest price.

Dirty. No ventilation in the rooms. The owner treat the volunteers as slaves.

Not recommend. They drilled the wall at 20pm I need quietness :((((

Fair prices and all inclusive Food ..
There are restrooms on every floor and you dont need any coins for the shower.
I even got a Lunchpaket for the rest of the day :)

Warning. The filfiest, dirtiest place ever seen. Not worth a penny to stay there. Disquasting. Really bad place.

If you are looking for a genuine hostel experience this is the place, very warm and friendly environment. Location is excellent and very central. Staff make you feel at home (as long as you behave) and 24hr access to food and kitchen is a huge plus. The owner is a sweetheart and makes every effort to make people feel welcome. The facilities could use some renovation and generally for the size of the hostel and the number of people coming in and out it is not unusual to see a bit of mess. The vibe of this place is what makes it great, in my book, this type of hostel beats the modernized sterile looking hostels that are trending now. Will definitely come back again. :)

Dirty hostel with super nice staff. Has a rodent problem.

Great location, friendly staff and a lot of musical instruments in reception. Not the cleanest place though.

Booking was made 2 months in advance and confirmed and paid. Then CANCELED 3 weeks in advance WITHOUT REASON. Very bad, we now have no place to sleep for new years. UNRELIABLE and POOR COMMUNICATION.

DO NOT BOOK AT THIS HOSTEL !!!! They just do a bunch of prutsers.

Slept with friends here and really had a great time. Staff is friendly and the breakfast really great! And you can eat there all day for free.

If you survive this place you will come out stronger!

If I could, it would be 0 stars.
Mold can be found almost everywhere without searching.
The windows in the room won't open and it smells bad.
Unfortunately, hygiene and cleanliness are a foreign word here.
The beautiful picture in the ads is just a sham.
It is very noisy in the area, which makes it difficult to sleep.

Dirty, nasty and totally not customer friendly. There were mouse keys in the rooms and the duvets had not been washed for a month. Jan and anyone could walk into your room just like that, so you didn't sleep with a safe feeling. Staff looked like they were high all day long. So reporting these complaints did not come to those guests it seemed. So don't book here !!

Worst hostel ever visited. Very poor, filthy and unfriendly staff who don't speak Dutch. Immediately left and exchanged for Stayokay. NEVER GO HERE!

The staff was very kind especially, the cute woman who cooked the breakfast for us. It s also pretty cool to have access to the piano and guitars, books and board game.

But, the low prices do not justify the dirt in the bedroom, in the toilet (I was the one cleaning the poo around the toilets), in the bathroom and in the kitchen.

Be careful you also need to pay for the bed sheet.

It s really sad since the building has a real potential. It has this wonderful facade and inside, a little clean up (maybe some renovation) could make it way more suitable. Plus, it s well located, you have the bus in front of the hostel or you can just walk for 15 minutes to the city center.

Got a good experience cool people had a b.b.q till late night and this morning I checkout at 2pm relax got a lot ofpancakes and made a lunch Ag and went out cool place to stay and value for money

The idea of \ u200b \ u200bthe place was very good a hostel where there is community food and utensils to cook when you want the problem is that the other guests did not clean the pots so the kitchen used to be dirty The people of the hostel was very friendly and had no problem in helping you

Such a friendly hostel! Great food, loads cooked for breakfast and lots provided to make meals yourself. Some of the dorms have ensuites too :)

Dirty, dirty showers and toilets, dirty dorm, sheets with stains, no form of ventilation in the room and the room smelled like smoke and was stale. Maybe it is still worth 1 star because of the croissants at breakfast ...

Great hostel. Slept a night during the Tour a few years ago. Even with 6 men in the room and more than 30 degrees outside, it stayed nice and cool and you could sleep well on top beds. Hostess was great. In short, recommended.

I had a wonderful time there! I arrived in Utrecht before the start of the semester and I booked this hostel for one month. I met amazing people there, and it was very handy that there was always food available. Evelyne, the owner (not sure the spelling tho, sorry), was always kind to me and even offered vegetarian foos. Most important, I made friends that I will keep for life. although there can be a little caos when its full, but it didnt really matter in my opinion, because I had so much fun!

This Hostel has the most advantages of all NL.
Well located, very nice owner and personnel, very good price, meals included, 24 hrs reception, etc.

The common area, yard and breakfast are amazing, but this is supposed to be a hostel, not a club. I was given a bed with no bedding, and when we asked the staff about it they were rude because we'd interrupted their smoke break. I was given a dirty duvet and a leather cushion as against a pillow. Sheets are extra and were smelly, covered in hair and had holes.

Fair enough, it has a nice atmosphere and it's cheap, that was until we tried to sleep. Went to bed at 1am and was one of the first to bed, it was impossible to sleep with the noise coming from the common room and this continued until 5am. We were lucky as our dorm was mostly quiet, the next door dorm had music blasting playing drinking games until 3am. Absolutely no enforcement of quiet after a certain time, making it impossible to actually get any sleep here.

It's in a nivmce location. But the cost there is too expensive for what you get. Not really clean and it can improve.

I had an awesome staying here. The food was good and I would love to come Back again. Kudos for a job well done. The hosts were amazing.

It is definitely the best Hostel of Netherlands, and surely one of the 3 best Hostels in Europe, personally in my opinion is the best that I've ever been so far .

The place needs a good cleanup, the low prices do not justify the filthy bedding and... Everything. Some of us left with flee bites from the beds...

The staff was very friendly but never seen a cleaner of any kind.

To bad, the building has so much potential.

Stayed at this hostel for 1 night for 5 persons.
We reserved one room for our self but ended up in a central sleeping room.
No changes could be made anymore as it was fully booked....

The room smelled really bad. for 18 people in one room there was one bathroom including toilet, and in the hallway 1 toilet 2 showers and some sinks.

The curtains were missing, spiderwebs all over the place, the sheets were dirty (brown stains!) The fake leather mattresses were ripped open, the pillows (which were initially white) were yellow.

Seeing all this crap we decided to have our breakfast somewhere else (NH Hotel city center for 12,50 euro)

The beds were not comfortable had problems with my back after an overnight stay. A lot of noise in the dormitory due to the beds that make a noise when someone turns around

clean good centrally located, yet in an oasis of peace with friendly helpful staff, congratulations to all these young enthusiastic employees! We were with our family (father mother 2 sons aged 18 and 21) for a weekend in Utrecht. relax in a multicultural metropolis!

Terrible hostel, dirty and uninterested managers. Don't get caught, they write the positive reviews themselves, you can see that because the writer has often written only 1 review. Pay an extra ten for a better hostel.

no good for me I'm sorry to say that openly. The accommodation was not clean and the kitchen was left with food remnants on the tables and on the ground. And a room for 12 people instead of six I had booked ?! Dissatisfaction

The new bathroom downstairs has become beautiful.
What a luxury all for that price. Good communication and everything in terms of price quality.

Hell on earth beyond words. Generally nightmarish. Unclean, unfriendly, hateful staff, and constantly loud. Staff and residents stayed awake all night drunk loudly preventing me from sleeping causing me complications with the responsibilities I had the next day. Overcharged me and refused to repay me; I had to have my credit card company resolve the dispute. Avoid B&B hostile. There are plenty of good, kind, clean places in Utrecht; read the reviews before you choose and you'll have a safe stay.

I liked the place. Yes its run down and dirty but the place has atmosphere and the breakfast is super, huge and delicious. Sandra is a no-nonsense kind of lady always willing to help.

No hot water. Unclean hostel. No staff to actually communicate with to ask about these issues.

Not to be gross. If you are looking for something cheap in Utrecht, book somewhere else. There was a dead pigeon rotting next to the window so the window could not open, stale sleeping loft, beds outdated and way too thin, toilets dirty, common room junk, outside there was no maintenance. There is hardly any cleaning (in the shower there was thick dust on the pipes and everything was dirty). And so I can continue .. Really a no go !!

Wolla this hostel is kkkk worst. That bed is as hard as a stone's cousin, I had a pain in my back for a week, couldn't even wipe my ass. That service is also bad, these zebis should not run a hotel because they do not know what they do. Seems like a social workplace a brother, only moots work.

Good place, good attention and you have free food all day! The only point against is that it is not very clean

A big messy gang. Dirty dorm rooms, dirty mattresses, stains in the linen. After a shower you should normally feel fresh. Here the opposite is true !! Firstly, an ice-cold shower, the wells were full of hair and the sinks were gross. It is only 30.00 per night but if I had known this in advance I should have had the money to sleep here! They don't know about cleaning here
