I have been to Freedom Cycle four times and out of those four visits, I ve had issues that made me feel like I was an inconvenience or I was insulted two of those four times. Both times I asked to speak with the general manager to let him know of the issues I encountered.
The sales staff and employees have all been extremely nice and even though my patronage has been limited, everyone has remembered my wife and the recent motorcycle that I purchased for her. All it takes is one employee having a bad day or another making you feel unwelcome/insulted that ruins it for all the other excellent employees that work at Freedom Cycle.
I won t dive into the initial issue that I had when going through the purchasing of the motorcycle but suffice it to say, if not for the amazing general manager at Freedom Cycle, I would have a walked out of the store and never returned. The general manager diffused that situation so much that I wrote it off entirely
The issue I will detail left such a sour taste in my mouth that even after I spoke with the general manager who explained to me of a known issue in their ordering system, when I left the store and spoke with my wife on the drive home, I spent the rest of night stewing over what happened.
I had ordered a garage mat from the parts department (separate from the motorcycle I purchased). I received email notification a week later that the mat was ready for pickup. Due to my schedule, I was unable to stop in to pick up the mat until a week after receiving the notification.
Thinking it would be a simple process, I go back to the parts counter and tell the associate, I m here to pick up my mat. The associate asks for my last name, first name, and then tells me he can t find my order. He then asks if I made the order under another name (I hadn t) and I tell him no. Another parts employee standing off to the side starts asking questions that instead of helping the situation, the manner in which he asked the questions made things worse. Instead of asking probing how can we better help you type questions or explaining that they have a known issue in their ordering system, the manner in which he asked the questions made me feel like I was some crazy lunatic who had walked into the wrong establishment.
Yes I bought the part here, yes I paid for it here, no this wasn t a part of any motorcycle combo deal, no I don t remember the name of the employee who assisted me. After the fourth question my patience was lost and my frustration was rising. It got to a point where I exclaimed out loud, why is this so hard to pick up my part?!
Luckily, the employee who initially helped me order the mat two weeks ago, walks out of the back with the mat I had ordered. My name and contact information contact information clearly printed on the label.
The employee not behind the sales counter, whose demeanor and style of question asking didn t leave me with a good feeling, walks behind the counter looks at me and tells me, Questions can be hard.
He didn t expand upon that statement, didn t qualify it with anything else other than leaving me with a sour taste in my mouth that I had been insulted by this employee because I was unable to answer their questions sufficiently in order for them to find my part.
