If you are in Grand Rapids this is a must! Plan all day.

All decked out for the holidays! The train was a highlight for my grandkids.

First time we attended the Gardens and we fell in love. The flowers are beautiful and even though it was chilly outside we got to explore the sculptures. Loved the whole experience.

Everything is always super fantastic aside from the volunteers on power trips who seem to think their job is to catch everyone doing something wrong. The actual staff seems to be aware and annoyed by this, so it's not the biggest deal. The rotating exhibits are always good, the gardens are great for photos, its a very hospitibal venue... Overall a fantastic place.

This is a great destination for any day of the year; rain, shine, or snow.

Frederick Meijer Garden visits are always educational & enjoyable experiences. Meijer Gardens is definitely a somewhat hidden jewel in our own back yard. We appreciate the vision of Fred and all involved with successfully carrying out his mission. Thank you for continuing the mission!

Such a beautiful and fabulous place! Definitely not something you can take all in on one visit. Can't wait to see it in the spring\early summer!

A great escape right outside the city. No traffic noise, just you, the plants, and the expansion construction. Always a good time though

Long lines, but awesome cacti exhibit. Butterflies are incredible! Decent priced, fun experience for the kids.

A true gem. Wonderful updates to the concert venue and food concessions. Always beautiful gardens throughout the year. Don't miss it.

Children park, botanical garden, sculpture park, they are amazing. Need one full day to enjoy everything this park gas to offer.

Beautiful location. The display of Christmas trees from around the world were great. Beautiful in the winter with the snowfall.

We have been members off and on for many years, enjoying the gardens, the butterflies, and the concerts. However, we are not going to renew our membership next year for the following reasons:

1.We renewed our membership in April, but just today received the paper cards for membership-a good 4 months time lapse. If this valuable paper card is lost, you only have to pay $5. What a deal! Why not look at their driver's license and issue another paper card?
2. Spouse stood in line for tickets for a concert, and was about the 20th person in line on the first day. Then they told him that all of the concert tickets we wanted were sold out. Members were able this year to go online at the same time the line opened up. This change was not stated prior to the date in question in any obvious way, except for a tiny line at the bottom of the page, or at least not promoted.
3. I have heard some people state that they felt rather dismissed when entering the gardens by the greeters, for reasons I don't understand.
4. In the membership card letter, they state the rules of the gardens, in regards to staying on the path and other obvious rules. Really? This went out to members and not to kids or people who have never been there.

We were in and out within an hour, the weather was a little cold making the 50 dollar entrance fee kind of expensive to have my 2 kids see some butterflies. They were making something in the kitchen with tons of onions and the entire building stank of onions. If it is a blustery cold day out, which happens often in Michigan, they should have discounted rates.

Beautiful activity for date nights, fancy evenings with friends and also a place to enjoy the summer weather with your family!

I'm not a big art guy but i loved this place. My wife was in heaven here :)
Very beautiful place to walk and admire on a sunny day!

My kids have been talking about sculptures in art class and my daughter just had to go see on they have and loved all of them. My boys spent hours looking at the butterflies and matching the pictures in the book and reading about them.

Was great. The butterfly exhibit was my favorite. My girlfriend and I will be back.

Very $$$ for A LOT of "not much to see, very crowded, under construction, torn up parking facilities, walk and walk and WALK, just to get to the entrance!!!"

Love this place, but not as much as my 3yr old does!! He'd rather go to Meijer gardens than chuck-e-cheese!

Wonderful place for a stroll, alone for contemplation or with a fellow garden- and/or art-lover for appreciation.

Breathtaking just breathtaking especially in the spring when they have the butterflies. And the sculptures are amazing and just so beautiful. and the food area has dynamite root beer it is amazing.

Thought it was kind of pricey but once we arrived with our 3 small children we were impressed with all the activities available for the price of our ticket. The butterfly exhibit was a hit for all of us but is rather warm so be sure to dress in layers that can be stripped off or you will surely overheat. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL

Always something for the whole family. Grand rapids is lucky to have a attraction of this caliber. It's always best to go on a nice day where you can go outside but even if it's not a nice day there still many things to do here. Many good shows in the concert series but they sell out fast.

Pleasant and clean modest by international standards but a nice monument funded by wealthy conservatives.

We love to visit when the butterflies are blooming! A nice respite from the winter weather and great for kids.

Frederick Meijer Gardens is a wonderful place to visit. The butterflies in the spring is one of our favorite activities. During the warmer months, walking through the grounds is great. Most of the rotating exhibits inside have only ever been meh, but that's just a personal opinion.

On a cold winter's day there's nothing that will warm the cockles of your heart... Or your tush then a warm wrought iron bench in the English gardens. I wanted to marry that thing!

We have a membership and go often-we love the summer concerts, the Christmas decorations, the children s garden.... everything is fun!

The flowers and gardens are beautiful! The buterflies are amazing! The staff is friendly. The outdoor activities are fun and beautiful! Great place for a family day.

It was a nice walk outside if you can brave the cold weather of February! The gardens were beautiful, the gift shop was decently priced and they're expanding!

This is perhaps my favorite place in Grand Rapids. So amazingly beautiful! Plan on spending a whole day as it is not inexpensive but there is SO MUCH to see and do. Amazing place for families in the summer!

Staff was friendly and signs were visible. I like the room with the different carnivorous plants and the sculpture park. It was very nice to walk and observe the various sculptures. I liked the stainless steel "brain neuron" the best.

What a beautiful place I simply love it every part of it every area you can go walk you can go see beautiful museums you can enjoy beautiful flowers and plants kids can run around

This place is an incredible breath of fresh air. I've been here plenty of times since I was a kid and I can't tell you enough how much I love coming here. The tropical greenhouse feels like you're inside Biosphere 2, and the sculpture park is an interesting insight to the culture of Grand Rapids. 10/10 will definitely go again sometime soon

Nice place, but focused mainly on looks and lacking the conservation or science component so important for botanical gardens.

FMG offers beautiful complement of artful sculptures and gardens. Well kept and easily accessible, this is a memorable place to visit once or a hundred times. The changing seasons and times of day offer a new perspective each visit.

Phenomenal visitor experience. Great staff: friendly and informative. Truly a year round spectacle in the greater Grand Rapids area.

They should have some background about each work of art on the placards. It would make it easier to appreciate the art.

Great place for the family overall - we like the trees at Christmas, and butterflies in the spring. But they pulled the rug out from under us without notice and, after many years, stopped honoring our MSU Horticulture Gardens membership. I'm not happy with the lack of notice, and we don't plan on going back. We're now considering membership at the Air Zoo instead.
