Very beautiful garden. Visit throughout the season to see it's changing beauty.

An incredible space in Grand Rapids. Something that is not to be missed at any point in the year. Currently the butterflies are visiting!

Their summer concert series is fantastic too.

Fred Meijer Gardens is the perfect getaway for anyone whose cabin fever is starting to get the better of them.

It's mix of man-made and natural beauty simply can't be beat in the West Michigan area, as the pics I'll be providing will show.

I really appreciate the rules they have added for the public safety regarding masks etc. as well, as it shows them actively trying to help the community.

If you're looking for an outlet for just yourself, you and one other, or your whole family, this is the place to go.

We only visited the concert venue. It was very nice, great place for a summer concert. Worth the 2 hour drive. We will be back!

The gardens are beautiful are beautiful and so are many of the sculptures. DON'T WORRY IF YOU ONLY LOVE TRADITIONAL FIGURATIVE SCULPTURES. THOUGH THEIR WEBSITE EMPHASIZES THEIR MODERN ABSTRACT PIECES THERE ARE STILL MANY TRADITIONAL FIGURATIVE SCULPTURES ALSO. OLDER WORKS BY FOLKS LIKE RODIN AND DEGAS, BUT ALSO CONTEMPORARY REALISTS. SOME ARE SERIOUS AND POWERFUL AND OTHERS WHIMSICAL AND FUN. Many gardens are full of color. Japanese and children's gardens are particularly good.

Beautiful experience, the Japanese gardens are very cool.

The butterflies were beautiful. Come prepared, it is very hot and sticky in arboretum. Tram ride through sculpture Park was great, but you need a jacket for that. Children's garden is fantastic.

Beautiful sculptures and grounds. Not really easy for handicapped individuals.

Went the Butterfly exhibit. A lot of Butterflies, great exhibit. One word of caution they are doing an expansion so plan on walking further to get to the ticket window.

For a myriad of reasons listed below, I'm gonna rate this place with 5+ stars!

Price- Meijer Gardens is Ginormously huge, so much so it's nearly impossible to cover it in a day! A price of $15 is so low for the kind of amazing art/sculptures and horticulture you are gonna experience here.

Shows/Events- The fact that weekly/monthly events held at Meijer gardens for which you don't have to pay additionally, make the visit worth every penny. You must not miss the social events/shows if you're planning to visit.

Old and Young- Regardless of your age, you ll end up loving this place.

Art/Nature Admirer- Numerous Sculptures, big and small, Made of wood Scraps to metal, Amphitheater & Japanese Garden will leave you amazed.

Tram Ride- $4 Adults & $2 Kids

PS- This facility is fully accessible.

Whereas the interior, the outward appearance would bring joy, the friendly staff here would do anything to make you smile.

Great value for money and spiritual health and as educational

The butterfly gardens and Conservatory are world-class. The children's play area and Sculpture Park are at once whimsical and familiar enough to capture the attention of children of all ages.

Great place to spend a day, on site restaurant has great food!

Was there for a concert and it did not disappoint. One of my new favorite venues.

Magical place. It has everything. Art, activities , natural areas, and more beauty than you can take in within a single visit. The Japanese garden is world class.

Fantastic place to take the family for a day. The sculpture garden is amazing and unique in the Midwest. There is a large area just for children with a splash fountain. Highly recommended.

Got to see the butterfly exhibit and it was fun seeing the caterpillar and butterfly it was really warm so bring a light jacket.

Very inexpensive place to spend the day. The kids had a great time and we didn't even walk the whole park.

Both the indoor and outdoor gardens were beautiful. I enjoyed walking through the gardens and viewing all the sculptures. I really loved the waterfall, very relaxing listening to the water, very peaceful.

The sculptures are excellent. The tram tours are well organized. The tour guide on the tram was very informative. Tram tour is a must which is reasonably priced. As other reviewers said, this is definitely a must visit place. Around 2-4 hours may be needed. They are expanding now and may be we can expect more indoor things in future.

Friendly people, clean restrooms, beautiful landscape, larger than life sculptures, picturesque scenery, but the one thing to improve on is possibly more rest stops or vending machines for snacks and drinks.

Beautiful place to go walk around. They seem to be expanding frequently and they had a completely new exhibit when I visited this summer and I see them constructing new areas when I visited. Excited for my next trip here. The Japenese garden is amazing and really expansive! I wish I was there during the time the flowers were blooming, and I'd highly recommend calling ahead to find out the times they are at peak bloom as I imagine it would be gorgeous! Regardless of the bloom though, its fascinating to see.

Totally sucks. They measure your chairs for concerts for what? Don't want them too high for what? They have yardsticks and actually measure every single chair for seat height and back height and if they pass put a band on them. Then they let everyone stand during the concert. Impossible to see the band or even any part of the stage. Never ever coming back and wouldn't recommend this venue. If I just wanted to hear music and not actually see the band I could have stayed home.

Very large and impressive complex with many different gardens. Bring your walking shoes and plan on spending several hours at this special place.

Frederik Meijer Gardens is such a fantastic place to visit no matter what time of year it is. Sure, during the winter months the outside gardens and sculptures might be covered in snow and it might not be a warm enough day to go for a walk around the area to look at things. Luckily for us though, this wonderful place is loaded with greenhouses filled with so many different varieties of plants, from the tiniest little ground cover or cactus to the tallest, biggest tropical trees I've ever seen, and I've been to both Coasts and the Carribean. I really love seeing plants thriving so far away from their homes!

What I especially loved about my visit today was seeing all of the families. It is so refreshing to see families spending time together but also learning about nature and art. How wonderful!

The butterflies are out! This is a great place to take your family... the amount of people they expected in the beginning has well exceeded their expectations...a new Welcome Center is currently being built...

We went right after Thanksgiving and really enjoyed ourselves. They have a great Christmas tree exhibit throughout the building, showing what traditional Christmas trees from different countries would look like.

The trains and model buildings were very neat as well.

Unfortunately we didn't get out to see the sculptures. We are planning to go back.

Wow! So a lot of renovations are still happening in 2020! But it is so beautiful. Every person working is so helpful. Clean. Prices are very reasonable for all you get to enjoy! We waited in line from the parking lot for about 20 minutes but stayed for 3 hours so I have no regrets!

We love anytime we come here! There is so much to do for any age and it is beyond beautiful. We were blessed to get a family pass for Christmas and love using it any chance we get. Whether a quick trip to kill some time or an afternoon of fun, it never disappoints. Our 3 year old loves the tree house the most and I love the Japanese Garden

Quite elegant with a tiny accent of decedence. Sweet Marvels qualmed through valleys of Wunderlust and bequeathment. Golden somber information amongst divine wit and servitude.

Take your time and see the Japanese garden. Visit when there is NOT a huge event and it's even better.

Beyond some exemptions an exceptional Botanical Garden.
Closes very early, long lines at unexpected times for admission. Good for people have time during the day. Check hours of operation. Wish they had more evening hours especially in the spring and summer.

Great place! Highly recommended for art lovers and garden enthusiasts

Went there to see Dispatch and I was surprised at how efficient they had parking set up. Despite the rain for the concert the ground drained well and it didn't turn into a mud bog. The sound was great along with the view. After the concert I was able to get out of the parking lot in a very timely manner. I would highly recommend for any concert.

The butterflies we're awesome! A great family place to go!

It isn't the most interesting place for the cost. It is a nice place for a walk, but it can be so busy the charm is lost. The new part of the gardens is awesome

We always come to see the Butterflies and love it! Such a great experience, especially if you are a butterfly fan. I feel the butterfly exhibit is just the right size, not too big or small. The plants and trees are so cool too. They have little creeks throughout as well.

They hosted Butterflies and a ballet today for girlscouts and we fell in love with the facility! We highly recommend for a fun outing with the fam!

Staggeringly beautiful grounds. It's mesmerizing to walk through.

I think it is quite remarkable that this place exists. A tremendous amount of time and effort goes into keeping this place beautiful for everyone to enjoy. You can spend a few hours enjoying the sights and still not see everything the first time through. A massive renovation is currently underway. If you are in west MI this summer please check this place out. We love it!

Amazing gardens but be warned they're having construction right now so alot of the park is blocked off

Well designed and maintained botanic garden and green house with collection from different parts on earth. The Japanese garden is great! One of the must visit in Grand Rapids.
