We have been members for years. Take our grandson there to the children's area and he loves it. Japanese gardens are beautiful. No other place like it in the country.

The gardens are very nice.
The exhibition is a must see!
I would avoid the garden video which is about a hour long, and your better off spending that time to see the gardens.
Very kid friendly, and interactive experiences for children.
Always love visiting the gardens whenever I am in town. They are truly incredible.
Butterfly garden is great. Friendly staff. Cafe is solid. Lots of construction going on in 2019 but it's worth it
Beautiful gardens and sculptures. Don't miss the Japanese garden!
It's nice to get out of the cold and to smell the flowers getting an early taste of spring. The volenteers were nice and helpful, and the sculptures were as interesting as seeing the butterflies.
Nice peaceful place to walk and enjoy the arts, plants. In the summer there is music on Tuesday.
Fun place with the grandkids watching the butterflies.
Loved it!!!! The art is incredible and also the place is clean and well kept, though there are a lot of bees and wasps in the garden areas. Great place to take parents ;)
There is a specific play area for children, too.
Great place to visit the gardens alone are worth the trip as are the sculptures. Went to see the Christmas trees this year and everyone had a blast.
We have gone to see butterflies for 10 years. We love it and so do the kids. Worth the price. Very nice inside but always busy at butterfly time. Expect a super long line if your not early. Even if you are expect to walk from your parking spot. Even handicap is a hike. But everyone is always friendly. A great day trip.
Beautiful place to bring the family! So many fun events all year round and extremely kid friendly!
Awesome place, the combination of art and gardens makes it a must see. I personally enjoyed seeing the butterflies more than I expected.
It's so beautiful here. They have done an exceptional job with with the fall flowers!
Lovely garden. Full of flowers and butterflies. Huge environment to go traveling inside. Japanese garden is awesome.
It was so beautiful! The volunteers were so kind and friendly! Definitely going back!
Take a break from the world and travel to a distant land not so far away. Highly recommended for the family, date night, or to relax and free the mind. Purchase the family pass and enjoy the garden year round, very worth the money. Boys and girls old and young will enjoy all the park has to offer.
Beautiful foliage and sculpture gardens. It gets a four because lawn equipment was running during our visit. Staff was friendly, helpful, and they made jokes. Other guests were audible, don't count on getting peaceful quiet, just peaceful views.
Beautiful gardens. The seasonal exhibits are my family's favorites (butterflies and Christmas trees) the Japanese Gardens are gorgeous.
Beautiful gardens and lots to do all year long. Today I took my 2 year old to see the christmas trees around the world exhibit and it was so much fun for the entire family. He loved the train set and looking at the different holiday trees. There was even a children's hands on exhibit where he was able to play freely with other children and burn some energy. Right now there's some construction, but it does not take away from all the exhibits that are active.
Awesome place. A lot of cool and interesting art pieces. The Lena Meijers Children's Garden has a few interactive things for kids that are really cool. Can't wait to go back!
Always supposed by something here. There are tiny BIRDS running about!
Nice, but it is almost too much of a good thing. They don't seem to have time, staff, or the inclination to keep up with it all.
Beautiful gardens, a lot of diversity in the number and species on display. Wildlife throughout the park and seems to be encouraged to coexist with the thoughtful locations of plants. Even spotted a couple of turtles hiding within the lily pads.
Such an amazing place.. My husband and i were married there, and are coming back to renew our vows!
The venue is beautiful. The rule about chair height makes no sense whatsoever!
Definitely an amazing place. I came from down south but amazed with what they have offered here. I will come back when chances come.
This place is beautiful with a lot to see and do. I love the Japanese Gardens, and there's lot of cool art, and other plant life to check out. We also took our daughter to the kids area, and the Great Lakes was pretty cool! They also bring in some great concerts, but I've never attended one because it's two to three times the price as other venues.
A great place in GR to walk. Wonderful art everywhere. We do wish they labeled the outdoor plants better.
I've watched this place grow since the beginning. It is in the middle of a major expansion currently but visit is unaffected. The gardens are beautiful, sculpture collection is respectable. It is a great place to walk in the winter.
One thing I have been waiting on - paperless tickets. Why as a member do I have to get physical tickets just to throw them away 2 minutes later? In 2020 this should be digital - a simple app or maybe no 2nd checkpoint at all. I hope this is coming with the expansion. Also, the trams are loud and exhaust stinks - time for modern electric.
Wonderful place to stroll through the outdoor garden! The conservatory, however, was a great disappointment. Hodgepodge of plants crowded together. The Arid room was especially disappointing. Plants from different arid regions mixed up and mostly sickly looking . Just because they re from an arid region doesn t mean they grow in every arid region!
Love what they do for the community. Something for almost everyone.
Kids loved the butterflies; other activities outside kept them entertained
Beautiful place to explore. The Japanese Garden is particularly enjoyable.
This was my 3rd time there. An it gets better with each trip.
Lot's of interesting plants and butterflies in the terrarium. Worth the admission price. Art and sculpture inside, too. In warm weather there is even more outside.
So much fun all year round. New flowers planted all the time. Great for little and big kids alike!
The japenese garden is really neat anybody should check that out
A little bit of Holland in Michigan. Inspired by the Kroller-Muller Museum, a vast outdoor park with some of the top modern and contemporary sculptors.
BEAUTIFUL place to bring the family! So much to see and do!!!!!
As new members, we are looking forward to more exploring. A must see if you are in town for a visit.
LOVE IT Everything is so beautiful the garden the butterfly exhibit
I have been so many times
A beautiful place to take the kids. It's worth the drive
I haven't been to the Gardens in a while so it was nice to tour the place with someone who hadn't been there before. What a great place to get lost for a few hours.
Michigan treasure. The gardens, music venue and collection of art are not to be missed.
Absolutely stunning gardens and sculptures. I would recommend buying a ticket for a tram ride to learn some background about the various sculptures and artists along the path. Also bring your children, as there are children's gardens and exhibits to explore as well!
Favorite place to take the family for an afternoon of joy.
Gorgeous outdoor Sculpture Garden plus indoor exhibits are not the best part of this venue which is the Outdoor Amphitheater in concert arena. Big name acts are pulled in at Super reasonable prices for tickets. If you sign up to be a volunteer you get to see concerts free. once you see a concert in this beautiful setting all indoor Arenas somehow lose their charm
Love the Japanese Garden! Be sure to visit in the spring to see the butterflies!
Very pretty and well laid out. We took the tram ride then returned to area of interest on foot.
This place is really beautiful. The Christmas trees were interesting, and I liked the carnivorous plants. There was also an absolutely beautiful art exhibit like out of a dream. My only suggestion is that this place should have a butterfly area like at the Detroit Zoo.
The exhibits change pretty regularly and keep the experience new.
Saw Lyle Lovett in concert here. Really pleasant outdoor concert venue. And, the botanical gardens seem very nice as well. Worth a visit!
