Great experiences for the entire family! A vast spread of art, plants, and flowers inside and out. An awesome play (discovery) area for the kids, Japanese Garden, homestead, and a fantastic walking art tour.

It's a beautiful place to see. There's something for every age, from 2 years old to old and gray. The plants are well labeled and well kept, as are the butterflies. There are many outdoor areas and activities for parents and kids to participate in, as well as statues, pathways and gardens. Though the indoor art exhibit and library are both small, they both have a great variety of art and books respectively.

Beautiful place. Gardens are exceptional, the areas are clean, the service by employees is great. A good place for pictures, family walk and even dates. We saw a pair of newly weds taking their wedding pictures here. It also makes a great place for the reception on their private rooms. The Japanese garden is a must see as well as the tropical and dessert areas. During the summer they do a great concert series in the park stage.

Such a great place for the whole family. Sadly, it's getting so busy, these days, that a lot of the enjoyment is lost. What is good for the gardens isn't necessarily good for the visitor.

Not worth the wait didnt get into butterfly gardens. Didn't even offer a discount for being busy and everyone waits in a line for 3 hours. Wasted time and gas for a line. Not to mention 2 wedding parties!

We enjoyed it so much. As a family from The Netherlands we had (with family from around Grand Rapids) a very nice experience walking around the park, visiting the department for kids and finally attending the live concert. We had a great evening

I loved this place. Be forewarned. There is construction going on, but once on the grounds you do not need to be concerned about the noise. There are art galleries and indoor habitats to see. A cafe with good food, but a bit pricey, but still a good value. I had a club on a ciabatta with apple smoked bacon, Brie and a Dijon apricot mostardo on the bun. Once on the grounds (this place is big) (need good shoes) it is a sculpture garden with something around every corner. The children garden is popular. I thought the time I spent in the Japanese garden was well spent. There is a $4.00 tram tour that we enjoyed. Either use as an early overview or when your feet need a rest. I think there is something for the art lover or garden lover in all of us. Well worth your time.

I like the train and the little light house that they set up during the railroad garden. The butterflies are amazing never thought I would be able to find a place like this in grand rapids. I like the tram.

Lots of butterflies with beautiful trees and place. Caterpillar room was interesting to search for caterpillars and cocoons. There's also some art pieces to view. It can get busy with lots of people so go early.

Very nice place to see! Pretty flowers and sculptures. You need at least 2 hours to see some parts of it.
No drinking water fountains though, and it was quite hot outside.

This place is captivating. You can easily spend most of an entire day here. Take the tram tour to learn about the sculpture highlights, but be sure to wander on your own, too. Don't miss this.

Christmas trees are always nice to go see. They have one from at least 15 other countries. Very interesting! They have butterfly gardens during March, and also offer a variety of events and outdoor concerts in their amphitheater! They have a sculpture park outside, a cactus garden, a green house filled w tropical like flowers, and a child play area.

The gardens offer a wide variety of styles of sculpture, making for an interesting viewing experience which never feels drawn out. The Ai Weiwei exhibit displays some fascinating sculptures and ideas. The botanical gardens are tranquil to stroll through. I spent much of my visit in the Japanese garden, which felt serene and delicate, and both natural and purposeful.

The price is pretty steep, (for an hours worth of fun) today for us the best part was the Caterpillar garden. There were only a couple different species of butterflies and it was way too crowded. We really enjoyed the sculpture room. Parking is a mess, with all the construction going on you'd think it would be more organized. We love coming in the summer for the outside gardens, will be back.

The grounds of this place are very beautiful and often are a good place to quietly enjoy some solitude and contemplation. Its easier to avoid the crowds in the cooler months, but i honestly prefer to be warm than to be cold.

This place has got a huge Long Island Buddha statue. The Japanese garden was awesome. Looked like we were in Japan. Very well maintained. The Japanese garden was the best part of this park. Padogas, gazebo and typical Japanese plants are found here.
They do have few insectivorous plants. We do find many sculptures in the park like a huge horse. Overall good place to visit.

Excellent place to bring a group. LOVED our tour guide Thora. So much fun! The sculptures and gardens are beautiful and I'd love to go to a concert there. Lyle Lovett was playing the night we visited. This is a must do when in or near GR. Deb in the group sales department rolled out the red carpet. My group leader loved it and I am impressed. And that's saying a lot with Missouri Botanical Garden a mile and a half from our home. We typically don't put gardens on our tours because they just don't live up to our standards but Fredrik Meijers does.

Nearly 150 acres of gorgeous outdoor gardens & sculptures, including an 8-acre Japanese Garden. Indoors, there are several large horticultural gardens including an Arid Garden, a Carnivorous Plant House, and a Tropical Conservatory.
It's all meticulously maintained and always changing with the seasons and with special events. Admission is under $15, with reduced prices for children. Parking is free.

This garden is on some extensive acreage. There are excellent botanical displays, in a variety of formats. There is also a stage venue.
The highlights are the world- class sculptures, presented in a variety of natural settings, most notable the DaVinci giant stallion.
There is a tram ride that takes you around the majority of the vistas, allowing you glimpses of some statuary, which you can eaxily visit on foot.
There is a neat children's area. The Japanese gardens are fairly new, and it will be interesting to watch the development over the years.
Make sure you take water with you, as there are limited places to grab a bite or beverage.

Too many invasive species! You have a farm, flowers and no bees? There are FAKE bee boxes on the property, it's ridiculous. Literally, we have a polinator crisis and bees are all over this park, but there's no apiary. The "farm" had food growing and nothing was picked or accessible for picking. Do they not harvest it? Does all that food go to waste? Missed opportunities all over the place!
