Great mixture of art and indoor space. We went on a rainy day but still had plenty to do. Once the rain passed we went outside and hiked trails throughout the gardens. Huge scuptures to subtle hidden treasures made from all kinds of mediums. I took 2nd graders and they had a great time.

Styx!!

Meijer Gardens is a MUST-SEE for anyone living in Grand Rapids or visiting the area. The coolest thing about this place is how often they change out their exhibit. You can go multiple times per year and you get to see different things. Everything is always so pretty here, and it is such an immaculate place.
I did attend a wedding here, and the space was very pretty. Although it was indoors, it did overlook the gardens.
They also do summer concerts here. I have attended one, and it was also a very nice setup for that as well. It is very casual and overall everything about this place has a good feel to it. Parking has never been an issue for me here, and the employees are always very pleasant.

Absolutely spectacular place any time of year. Summer brings special events like concerts that are just so well done. The Japanese garden is a treasure, the sculptures are magnificent throughout. A treat to find in a world-class city.

we have been members for about 3 or 4 yrs and we enjoy taking our grandchildren there to learn and to appreciate some of the finer, simpler things in life. The kids love to climb and explore the outside kids area. I love to just simply walk the grounds on a nice day. I often pretend that I live on the fabulous little farm, it is a dream home for me.

The concerts are getting harder and harder to decide which ones we can make it too, because they are just getting so many great bands, and what a great venue.

My husband and I just LOVE coming here, whether it is to bring family from out of state, our grandchildren to learn and play, or just when we want a quiet, beautiful walk around the grounds.

Frederik Meijer Gardens is the perfect blend of Art and Nature. I love to walk each meandering path and soak in the sights, scents and birdsongs while getting my daily dose of exercise. We try to attend every flower show and special event - there is always something new to experience.

Our first time here after years of wanting to experience the cultural trees representing Christmas around the world. It was extremely interesting to see and read the different views.

We also braved the winter cold and went out into the gardens. The sculptures were amazing, the Japanese garden was awe inspiring.

We've made the decision to make time to come back this spring, but possibly even when snow is on the ground.

Just spoke to really rude woman on the phone. I was trying to get some information about the park and accessibly because I'm bringing my elderly mother, who can walk, but sometimes uses a wheelchair. The website has no detailed information such as a simple map that shows parking and distances between sites, or even where exhibits are located: inside (where?) outside (where?). Lots of pretty pictures but not much practical information. The woman on the phone was very curt and nasty. I've been to Meijer Gardens before and loved it, but that was several years ago and I don't remember much about the location itself. Now I'm pretty turned off to going again after having such an unpleasant experience with their staff member. I would suggest they improve their staff training and their website.

Wear comfortable footwear. This place is sprawling with diverse pieces. Some of the installations are interactive and fun for the whole family. If you walk in with some curiosity and a willingness to be playful; this will not only be an experience but an experience to remember!

The carnivorous plant section is worth very much worth mentioning not to miss.

I love how beautiful the gardens are here. The davinci horse sculpture is my favorite. I also like the fact that they have outdoor concerts here and there is always a different artist here on display. My favorite artist that was previously displayed here was Chihuly. The butterfly exhibit that is here every year is also very nice. Great place to visit.

I've got to say, this place was absolutely stunning! I visited this beautiful garden & sculpture park when they were featuring work by Ai Weiwei event last summer 2017 with my family. My mom is not a big fan of walking for long periods of time but the sculptures, gardens & art was so enticing that she trooped through exploring everything this place had to offer! They made it very easy to as well with having access to water fountains and their out door washrooms were so clean and pleasant to be in! I was really impressed! It is so rare especially to find out door washrooms that are not only sanitary but oddly really cool to be in. They also offered a trolly ride that wasn't too long or too short, that gave us a tour of the garden with great insight into the history of the sculptures and gardens. We loved our tour guides! They were humorous and very knowledgable. We stayed from opening until close which wasn't very hard with how memorized we were. We went to grab a bite in their cafeteria which had on their ceilings beautiful art by one of my sister's favourite artists Chihuly. Ill admit the food was a little bit pricy but let's be real, what main attraction location doesnt? At least it tasted pretty good. I would definitely visit again with my family. We haven't quite explored anywhere quite like it or better thus far!

We love the gardens. They have activities for all ages during all seasons. They provide wonderful entertainment for the community with the summer outdoor concert series. The spring Butterflies are Blooming exhibit is so beautiful, a breath of fresh air when the cold Michigan winter is stretching into April. We love the new activity room for children and the splash pad and play area in the summer months. The art exhibitions are world class and beautifully displayed both inside and outside on the gardens. There are trails to following through the grounds and they offer rides around the gardens if you prefer. In the winter there are special horse drawn carriage rides around the trails and beautiful Christmas trees decorated for there holidays around the world themed exhibit. Highly recommend a few visits throughout the year to fully enjoy the many artful activities and exhibitions.

Not much of anything interesting indoors, and outside was still in the 30s. If you like relatively small indoor sculptures, you might have something to look at besides the very popular, crowded butterfly exhibit. Not worth the price otherwise. Not very many butterflies really either, and most are black with a little color, nothing to see compared to the noble Monarch, which was scarce if any. Also, not many caterpillars crawling around either. I was underwhelmed, and enjoyed eating lunch at a nearby hopcat much more.

We had a beautiful day with family but unfortunately I cannot give 5 stars. I cannot believe smoking is permitted at all, especially near the main entrance. All who enter and exit have no choice but to walk through smoke. With the current renovations this meant we walked through quite a distance of smoke and got stuck behind a cigarette smoker the whole way out of the somewhat enclosed exit/entrance area. This was incredibly disappointing and my children were horrified about this.

Frederick Meijer Gardens is great place to go see different art and horticultural exhibits as well as a yearly butterfly exhibit that is really cool. If you live near by it is worth having a membership. They have an extensive botanical gardens that I haven't seen all of. A great place for children as well.

Always new exhibits, take an outdoor or an indoor stroll and be surrounded by wonderful works of art. Enjoy the tropics and the dessert in the same trip. The cafe is a delightful spot to take a break and look at the Chihuly glass works on the celing. Don't forget to stop into the gift shop ! You could spend hours there and still not see it all. It's an excellent place to entertain friends visiting from out of town.
