The gardens have become a tourist attraction. Plenty to see and do. It is developed well beyond the simple concept of a conservation area. Wood walkways led you through wetlands and you can see a wide variety flowers and trees. Yes statues are everywhere along with play areas for children.
Beautiful as always. Especially loved the Japanese garden.
Matthew (5 years) loved the horse, and the water fun area, and the Koi pond. It was a little expensive, but fun for young kids.
Amazing flower beds and world renowned sculptures make a visit in any season quite a treat.
Relaxing environment with a lot to see. Has a big kids area, very family friendly.
Very beautiful place year round. So much to see and not enough time to see it all.
This is an amazing place that makes you feel like you are in a wonderland
Pretty nice, very big to get around the garden and statue garden. I'm also liking the butterfly house, it is VERY hot though. I understand that it's for the butterflies, but there should be a warning sign for those who have a very hard time in heat. There wasn't a way to get on the busses when we needed them, we didn't know if there was a schedule or route they go or what. It should also be recommended to go to the Japanese garden when everything is in bloom, would probably make the experience more enjoyable. I appreciated the zen garden, but I didn't know if there was no rake for it. Not sure if there is supposed to be or not. I think you should have some signs up of Japanese ettiquette, if that's required. Learning about the stories of these plants would be more interesting. The art gallery had a lot of nice stuff, about the same size as the Devos Art Center exhibition in Marquette. However, some artist statements for sculptures might be nice, but could make the exhibition much longer?
Excellent Christmas display of trees around the world.
Garrison Keller concert was amazing! Ampitheater is a wonderful performance space.
WE VISITED MEIJER GARDEN YESTERDAY, APRIL3 2019 .I FELT THE COST WAS NOT FAIR. IN OUR GROUP WE HAD 2 SENIORS, 1 STUDENT & 1 ADULT. WE WALKED WAY TO FAR FROM THE PARKING LOT, WE WERE 5 MINS. LATE FOR THE TRAM TO VISIT THE SCULPTURES. THIS FEE SHOULD BE A LOT MORE REASONABLE. THIS TIME OF YEAR.
Just can't get enough of this place. Beautiful property, amazing sculptures and gardens. And amazing concerts. Now if only I lived closer....
Always nice. Constuction is a nightmare. Just awful.
If you love art/sculptures and nature, go! They have tons of sculptures around the grounds, a children s area, and a Japanese Garden. Do some research and make sure you go when everything is in bloom.
Great time to relax and soak in all of the beautiful gardens and sculptures
Very beautiful place with indoor and outdoor gardens. One of best I have been to.
Went here on a Senior Field Trip. It was fantastic!!
They do a wonderful job at making the experience worth the drive!
Great place to meander through and learn and see so much.
A wonderful place for a walk and some contemplation
Most butterflies we have seen there. Had a good time.
An icon in GR, great for the whole family.
The concert series is the best!
I love the Meijer Gardens. It beautiful all year round. During the cold season they have the magnificent Christmas around the world. You get a glimpse of different parts of the world on how they celebrate Christmas. When spring comes through you can go and explore all about the butterflies. In the summer you explore all the sculpture of the garden including their famous horse and the Japanese garden they also have fun for the kids in the tree house. Much to explore.
Never been here before this visit and I only heard about this place a few different times. I however highly recommend anyone and everyone to see it at least once if given the chance. Lots of gorgeous plant life from many different areas of the planet. Not only that there's quite a bit of artwork to see. Big sculptures and smaller ones. All in all I am definitely going to visit again.
Fun with the kids! Places for them to run around after seeing the butterfly room was too much fun!
Can't believe we've lived here 10 years and only just got to this experience. Such a beautiful, serene place! It was a spontaneous Saturday trip and we caught a perfect day to stroll the grounds. Parking was easy, volunteer/staff were friendly and helpful, and while the parking lot appeared to be very full, the grounds are so spacious that we never felt crowded or rushed. The Japanese Garden lived up to the things we've heard about it (all great) and the sculpture collection was amazing to see. We are very fortunate to have this in our West Michigan community
Beautiful display of cultural Christmas trees and tropical gardens!
I was pleasantly surprised at the content of this lovely place. During their construction mostly indoor greenhouses featuring different themes were available and they were fascinating. The carnivorous plants and arid plants were amazing!
Always have fun at the Gardens with the boys. Great sights to see and they are always bringing different attractions to keep it fresh. We love the annual traditions of the butterflies and the Christmas trees!
We always love are trips to FMG. The butterflies are a must for us every year.
Worth it, but don't rush. Worthy of taking extra time to enjoy.
This is a lovely garden. We loved the Japanese garden area, but the rest is also stunning and welcoming. And the staff is all super friendly and enthusiastic about sharing their love and knowledge.
Beautiful but very expensive for family of five. Tram was always sold out so we walked more than planned. Great way to get excercise. Can cross off my list.
It is beautiful here. My only regret is coming late,it closes at five and it's a big place. Will be returning
Beautiful gardens and outdoor sculpture wasn't expecting this. Will visit again when traveling through Michigan.
Very diverse plant selection. I wanted to eat their baby pineapples
Great venue for music, but be sure to get a membership, most concerts sell out before public sales.
Beautiful place to go as family trips. The gardens are very well maintained and it's fun for kids and adults.
This was our families first trip to the gardens. We felt very safe (patrons were wearing masks and it was easy to social distance). The flowers and facilities were lovely!
Simply gorgeous gardens and sculptures that inspire great conversation and insight. A wonderful place to explore with family, friends, or a date. Highly recommend!
You can easily spend more than 3 hours exploring every sculpture and piece of the gardens here. If I lived closer, I would get a membership and go every weekend. It's so beautiful, peaceful...what a great place to go for a walk! I brought some sandwiches and snacks to eat for after my visit You can eat outside the park in designated picnic areas. If I'm going to Grand Rapids, I'm stopping by the Meijer Gardens.
A beautiful and relaxing place to spend the afternoon. When coming back for multiple visits consider the year membership to save some money.
A serene, magical place. Sculptures, foliage, a Japanese garden. A beautiful place to look at nature.
Beautiful. The butterfly exhibit was fun and educational.
Lives up to it's reputation! Bring back Chiluly, please
This place is huge! Walk the trails and appreciate the art.
These gardens are such a beautiful experience and new Japanese garden is a must see.
Such a breathtaking place!! Have heard nothing but good things about this place...all true! Attended the Vince Gill concert...wow...not a bad seat in the amphitheater! Super acoustics! Work needed on the concessions wait though...25 minutes for a beer (not acceptable)..maybe take a trip to Soaring Eagle and check out their "portable bar carts"on the floor...AAA+!
Beautiful butterfly's and a very kind friendly place
I love this place, it is a great place to go visit with or without kids, just a great relaxing place to go to.
