Best pizza I've ever had. I really fancy the additional love that is put in to make it tasty. Adding fresh garlic, throwing in the basil, seasoning the crust, etc. I loved every thing about it, sauce, dough, topping, flavor, texture, cook. Definitely try this place out if you're in the area.

Delicious old school Napoli style brick oven pizza using simple and Time tested ingredients. There was a wait as usual but the pizza made it worth it. As a native Brooklynite, Pepe's made me feel right at home.

Really bad customer service and the pizza is equivalent to a grilled cheese sandwich. I d recommend spending your money on places that cares about their customers and making sure the food is good.

Let's start with the positives: courteous, fast service. Clinton and Regan on the walls.
Then there is the rest. Pizza with too much (but too much really) gravy. Sauce with too much pepper (this is typical Yankee ... we can't avoid it). Too little mozzarella mozzarella. In short, pizza is not good and also difficult to digest. we are not.

First time at the pizza place and drove about 20min to it, plus waited for 30min. Not what I expected. I was surprised the price was good but when I finally got to open the box it was clearly nothing not even close to what I had read in the reviews. The pizza was very thin (got the largest size plus toppings which are $4.00 extra each) the pizza was also burned on some spots and the toppings were also burned! The crust got hard by the time we were on the 2nd slice! Just disappointed I wish I could had posted the pictures.

I'm a pizza head, someone who tries pizza anywhere possible. I've tried pies all along the east coast and Midwest, and while many offer a great rendition of their own pizza, only one can be crowned king and that honor goes to Frank Pepe imo. This pizza is like heaven in a slice, even with a 30 minute drive one-way it's still worth it. Even if the pizza is half cold by the time I get home it's still worth it. This place is as good as it gets for a brick oven pizza. The salad is also really good, and they offer the same drinks they did when they opened the business. If I ever leave Connecticut I will miss this place more than any other in the state- it's as good as it ever gets, not only rivals NY or Chicago pizza but beats it outright every time!

Had better frozen pizza. It's not burnt it's well done haha that's bunt buddy. Popular by people who don't know what real pizza is. I will never go back should be ashamed to call that place an Italian restaurant

Clearly the best pizzeria. I've been to almost all and this is head and shoulders above all the rest. For decades I scoffed at the notion of a pizza from New haven being equal to, let alone better than, any new York pizzeria picked at More

I really like this place! They have good service, good food, and a fun atmosphere!! I have been a few times with my kids and each time we leave feeling like we need to tell more people about this place. Give this place a try, it is really tasty!!!

There's a reason Pepe's is consistently voted one of the best pizzas in the country. Come in and see for yourself. The place is comfortable, the staff is great, and the pizza divine. It's definitely worth a wait if there is one - and there usually is - but don't be intimidated; the wait is almost never as bad or as long as it looks.

All pizzas at best, is fairly satisfying
Never Understood the Stupidity of hyperventilating over a piece of dough and sauce that cooks in 10 minutes without the genius yelling "kick it up a notch" !
Very Generic Stuff

Bad experience. Friend and I went here while going home from Boston we know the place is usually packed due to its reputation being one of the best pizza places around so we called in advanced to place an order of a large margarita with extra sauce not too burnt with my name. Staff asked for my
Number and it was given to her correctly. After sometime about ten min we decide to order another pizza that was just a regular pie with extra sauce which we gave her my friends name and same number prior to arriving. We get there and we ask for both pies in which they were unable to pull up on their end. We also give them the names and they were unable to pull the order up on their end. We made sure we contacted the right location and address. They finally found the two orders on a named spelled in correctly and a number that has the four last digits written down incorrectly. What s worse is that the pizzas were not even made yet. We called in advance to make sure it would be fresh and ready by the time we got there. We were driving home from Boston crossing to new Haven and to Nj. They delayed us an hour to make that pizza and the manager was extremely rude he was unable to accommodate the situation correctly until one of his employees assisted us. Very rude. We got the pizza and it was ok and it was not worth all the fuss. It was also burnt a lot (passive much...). We had Reginas pizza earlier which tasted much better compared to this pizza and apparently this place is better than regina s. I was also not a fan of how they cut the pizza. I ve never seen pizza sliced the way they did it. It looks like a five year old cut it. Some were triangles and others were squares. This place doesn t deserve the reputation it has especially the way they treat customers.

I drove half an hour just to get best pizza in CT . they gave me a burned and trouble pizza and charged me 40$. They put it in box and sealed it with tape. I drove home and when I opened it I shocked. I did not have time to drive back to return it. Check Your Pizza before take it. Terrible experience.

First outing vaccinated, couldn t wait to bite into a pepes pizza! What a disappointment! What happened?! This is not the Pepes pizza I knew and loved. The crust was thick and yeasty. The toppings and the seasoning were okay, but not on that crust.

I can't actually speak to the quality of the food, or service. I never even got within 20 feet of the door. But if you like friendly conversations with strangers, the queue outside this place is great.

First time here because of all the hype from friends and family. I was satisfied, but not wowed. Pizza was ok, definitely had better. Staff was nice and the place was clean. However, the wife was impressed with the Clam Pizza.

It's a New Haven landmark for a reason. Try their home roasted red peppers, they're incredibly flavorful. If there's a line for the main location try the annex in the parking lot next door. They serve the exact same food but the wait is usually much shorter.

The white clam pizza is a must try here. There is no denying that the pizza are delicious. However the lines at this place is way too long and sometimes not worth it especially in the cold

Number one tip: add bacon to the clam pizza. You won t regret it.

Excellent pizza. You ll have to queue if you want to eat in so maybe take a bottle of water with you. Staff are super friendly and happy to talk to you about the history and the pizza itself.

Range of gifts available to buy should you want to take a reminder home. Aprons aren t listed on the menu but they ll see you one.

Amazing customer service- I messed up my order online, I was close enough in person to get a hold of someone before they finished cooking the order. Everyone listened to the issue, they were very polite, and remedied the problem no questions asked. All of this during covid nontheless, I was very impressed.

Great prices too!

I arrived around opening no wait no fuss I ordered a small pepperoni and sausage pizza and small ceaser salad everything was wonderful pizza was on point. The staff was great I really don't understand the bad reviews I just think people just want to complain about nothing and nonsense I don't get it my experience here was awesome and yes I will be coming back for this awesome pizza.

We are so fortunate to live only three miles away Pepe's never disappoints! The staff works incredibly hard to provide you with the best service and experience overall. The pizza is the best you have ever tasted Yum!

I don't know what's the deal with "the best pizza in the US" and with the 4,5 stars rating, but this place is highly overrated. I ordered 3 pizzas, all 3 of them were burned too much, you couldn't even eat the crust, cause it was like eating coal. Apart from that the pizzas were pretty much okay. Not even good, just okay. I'd eaten much better pizzas. I don't get the hype at all.

Always an awesome experience, but this time was above and beyond. Our waitress, Ashley, was soooo friendly and helpful. A mistake was made and she was super accommodating and fixed it immediately. Love it here!

We ordered two pies on New years eve, one pepperoni, one cheese. The pepperoni pizza was incredible. High art 9/10. The plain pie was a dissapointment. It was unevenly thick and thin, leaving some parts a little undercooked. Still a good pizza, but it was also too thin in places making it burnt to a crisp. I was a little suprised the thickness wasnt more consistent, since it is essential for the pizza type. I really wanted a clam pie, but they were sold out of clams by 4 pm on New years. Next time Frank Pepe. Pepperoni would be a 10/10, but I've had better
mozzerella cheese.

Great pizza and the service is amazing! However, it took a little while to get seated because there were too many people. But it was worth it. I highly recommend the pizza place if you are in Connecticut. It is probably the best pizza in the state. And the good thing is, it is about right in the middle of Connecticut so it will take an equal amount of time to go from all areas.
