Pepe s is delicious! We love coming here Friday night as a family with all of us sharing a large cheese pie and the girls getting pink lemonade. The waitresses are very nice and friendly too!

I think the pizza is pretty fantastic but only if you have the patience to wait in line for an hour+, after you eat here go to Libby's down the street and get a cannoli or gelato to complete the Italian food vibe - HOWEVER comma, the thing about this place is that you have to be ready to deal with some pushy people. For example, today my family (party of six) was waiting in line right after another family (party of four). So the host comes in and says that a table for six is open, and my family stands up to go in and this lady from the party of four FREAKS out at us. She's yelling at us and the host "UM EXCUSE ME WE WERE HERE FIRST WE WERE IN FRONT OF THEM EXCUSE ME WE ARE NEXT" and pointing her greasy finger in our faces and just generally ruining my perception of human kindness. I would sort of understand if it was a busy night and we had been waiting out in the cold for an hour, BUT, it was a Saturday afternoon and we had both been there for about 10 minutes and like sorry that a table for six opened up before a table for four, SO CHILL LADY. And honestly, that's the vibe you get from some people here because they're just so freaked out about getting this "famous" pizza. Like chill. You'll get your pizza people.

I have been eating here for years. I recently had a peppers and onions Pizza which was delicious and a garlic and tomato pie which had plenty of tomato sauce and plenty of garlic. The bacon is one of my favorites and the sausage pizza is good. On top of that they've got some great beverage choices. If you can't decide what type of pizza you want you could always go with classic cheese pizza or ask for a slice of anything they have available. If you've never had New Haven pizza before this is one of the many in the area you should try.

The pizza was really good! The small pizza can easily feed two people. The menu is pizza and salad so if you are looking for something else, this won't be your place.
I only give four stars rather than five based on the service. Waiting for a table is a bit hectic and then the ordering/serving/cleanup is a little slow. The waitress was very nice though.
If you are planning on coming here, I would recommend before 5pm so you don't need to wait.

It's famous pizza for years. It's very good. Is it great? I don't think so. Always busy. Always wait it line.... because of its name. No appetizers. Service is just ok. Have had better brick oven pizza. Another thing... parking is hard..

Dinner at Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana is an immersion in the savory art of making traditional pizza, or "Italian pie" as it has been historically known, using a coal-fired brick oven. The result of this process is a scrumptious delight, complete with a crisp, charred crust and the savory toppings of choice. This approach to satisfying the appetites of craving customers was conceived in 1925-era New Haven by Naples, Italy natives Frank "Old Reliable" Pepe and his love, Filomena, and resulted in the creation of "apizza" (spoken in their Neapolitan dialect as "ah-beets").

Hands down the BEST pizza I ve ever eaten. If I lived here I would be in every month! We had the margherita pizza with cream soda and it was the perfect combination. Superb service and great tradition are served here

What can I say that hasn't been said already. Sausage and mushrooms pizza and a white pizza with whole clams. Along with a soda pop... A few special people with which to share this, what else is there to say! Bliss!

Great food. Terrible setup and overall service. The employees were kind and professional, but the service seemed rushed and disorganized. They need to accept reservations. People frequently wait outside in inclement weather for tables. That is unacceptable in the digital age (e.g., Open Table). There were open tables inside the restaurant although what seemed like dozens of people were waiting outside in the cold. It seems the restaurant is purposefully making its seats scarce to increase the restaurant's value disappointing service but great food.

What can I say, I had my first Pepe's Pizza when I was a kid visiting my Aunt that was in Yale at the time. Well as a RI'er a drive lasting longer than 10-15 minutes qualifies as a foreign adventure. So when ever my travels puts me in that Rte 95 Corridor through CT all attempts must be made to make a stop at Peppe's. Now that there are more locations there's more options; but Wooster St still works for me!!!!!!! Ended up stopping there on the way back from Atlanta from an Ebay spree. Couldn't choose surf or turf so I ordered both: that was the atta boy stop of this expedition. Oh so good!

It's really hard to look for the right words to describe my experience here...

So I'll right it dry and simple:

This place definitely lives it up to the hype, their pizza's are so good, I'll be talking about it for years to come... Or till I'll be back,

Ps. This was my first visit so I can't relate to those who claim that it dropped in quality, to me it's still a world class pizza.

Historic. Wonderful food. Coal ovens make crispy slightly charred flavor. It's cheesy tomatoey goodness! The clam pizza is awesome! Explains why they've been in business for such a long time!! If you don't like slightly charred foods don't eat there.

A long wait time for a weekday night, but that's to be expected with world famous pizza. The staff were friendly and there was good service for a packed restaurant, but I was rather disappointed in the pizza. I love pizza of all kinds, it is delicious. Hearing that Frank Pepe's is one of the best pizza places ever I was hoping for it to be delicious. Unfortunately, I found that the pizza was about average to below average in quality :( It's an alright pizza place, though, ignoring the hype.

I read about this place as rated the best pizza, I think in a poll national wide, so on our way back home from Maine we stopped in. We weren't disappointed. Real pizza like I have had in Italy. We got a large cheese pie, and it was amazing. Can't wait for our next road trip to stop in.

The absolute best accident I ever had. On a road trip and lucked in to this. Holy cow I still think about it 4 years later. The New Haven thing is the best. Period. Got lucky and came when quiet and demolished a pizza and some wine and beer. I'd weigh 400 pounds if I lived anywhere near this place.
