Very good pizza. In the past 3 days I had pizza in Italy, New York, and here. If I could give it 4.5 stars I would... If there is a long line order take out or check out Sally's right down the road.

Went to the Waterbury store to try this much acclaimed pizza. Disappointing, the store was brightly lit, my wine was served in a breakfast juice glass, the whole atmosphere was reminiscent of a diner. The clam pizza was tasty but not anything special.

A terrific place to go for the historical aspect. The pizzas have nice flavors, but way overrated - living on their past reputation. Not worth the wait as there are other places that serve a true Napoletana pizza as opposed to Pepe's version. To each his own....

Frank Pepe Pizzeria is a great place for all pizza lovers to come to. About an hour and a half drive from Manhattan, the pizza is classic Neapolitan with a unique New Haven flavor. The pizza is made using goals ( not the usual gas oven) and the flavor is amazing. The pizza tends to come a little burned, so if you re not a fan of that, be sure to tell your server so they can change it ahead of time. Definitely a place for all lovers of pizza to visit at least once!

The water in New Haven may be full of the rejected political satire of the Yale Marching Band, but something in it makes for a tasty a pizza pie. Do yourself a favor and save 2 hours of your life by calling ahead for pickup, then have a delicious pickup in the nearby park rather than waiting for the small dinner booths inside. The pizza is incredible. The clams are only available when fresh, but even the plain margarita is life changing. I love NYC pizza, but there really must be something special in the water here. A medium pie is enough to feed a small family, but it's so good I ate a whole pie on my drive back to NJ.

I always try to stop at Pepe's Pizza when I'm driving through New Haven on 95. I love the slightly burnt crust thin pizza! Not for all but if you like thin crust Old World style pizza this place is phenomenal. It tends to be busy most of the time, but I find it worth the wait. Sometimes the small Annex next door is less busy and easier to get in. I would go to either one.

We have ordered here 3 or 4 times now and the pizza has been pretty consistent. The Clam Pizza is very good and the make your own pizzas are also pretty good! I highly recommend signing up for their E-Club. You get 5$ for joining and 15$ on your birthday every year so pretty good for just joining. The only down side of this place and the reason it's not 5 stars is the price. I get it's a nice place but it is quite pricey for what your getting!

There is a reason why Pepe's clam pie is #1 in the country. My favorite and did not disappoint. Had not been there in a while but as good as I remembered. Introduced the grandkids to Pepe's and even at 7 and 9 they could tell it was very special pizza. Very lucky to live close by to an iconic place. Walked right in without a wait on a Thursday afternoon.

Helpful hints:
1. Best authentic Italian pizza
2. Parking available on site but it gets crowded.
3. Must try : Quattro Formaggi

Best quality thin crust coal fired pizza anywhere with possible exceptions of Sally's down the street. Usually there is a wait and there are no reservations but there's a reason you see people standing in line outside in the middle of January. Clam pizza is our favorite.

Very simple dining, family style. Some of the best pizza I've had in my life - I'm believing the hype. You can tell that the ingredients are very fresh and the pizza is seasoned well. The pizza is delivered to your table in a decent time considered it's made fresh to order. The crust is on the thinner side and can get a little hard and crispy, but still edible. That is my only critique. I ordered 1/2 spinach mushroom and gorgonzola and 1/2 fresh tomato pie (which is seasonal from July to September). The small is 8 slices and I took abt 1/2 the pie home. On my next visit, I ordered 1/2 spinach and 1/2 broccoli small pie which was tasty as well. Staff is always pleasant and accommodating!

The line may be long and you might be tempted to say "its dough and cheese, I'm not waiting for that" and you would be wrong. Do not underestimate the difference between amazing thin crust New Haven pizza and the garbage they throw at you anywhere else.

Simply put, an absolute winner. If you wish to sample one of the best pizza styles in America, the original Frank Pepe's is the place to do it.

There will be a wait to get in at dinner or lunch, just like all the new Haven classics. But the staff if incredibly professional and fast. They have beer and wine, I recommend some Cianti if you are really trying to enjoy the flavors.

FP does coal fired and man do they ever do it right. The crust is so damn flavorful and tasty you can eat every morsal of that alone. Not too charred, not to doughy not to crispy they just get it right.

I sampled the mozzarella traditional and the quattro formagio. The QF of easily a top 3 pizza belt pizza, many folks around us had it and we all agreed QF is amazing. Let it sit don't eat it right out of the overnight heathen.

The mozzarella had pepperoni and black olives that was too much. FP pizza has so much flavor I don't think pepperoni is a good idea, however I certainly wouldn't bother with anything else on their.

The waiters were affable and prompt, really a spectacular night. None of the other new Haven spots that gather lines impressed me. Frank Pepe's really has it going on.

P.s. people around us tried the white clam, which I refuse to even try. They liked it and it is considered the signature pie.

Everyone raved on the quattro formagio far more so if you have room for just one get the QF.

I have to say that I was skeptical when I heard that New Haven, Connecticut had the best thin crust pizza. But this place is utterly amazing! Constantly bustling, Pepe s Pizza serves delicious, brick oven baked, thin crust pizza with generous toppings and genuine Old World flavor. Excellent service and a family-friendly vibe make this place hard to beat!
I recommend the roasted red peppers, mushrooms, and onions. Fantastic!

Health hazard! In the middle of the Covid-19 crisis, 2 of the employees handling food were wearing their face mask barely touching their mouths (nose completely exposed)! One of them even touched her nose and then went straight on to handle food without washing or disinfecting her hands first. I was so disgusted that once I arrived home, I just threw the pizza in the garbage.

Pepe's is the best pizza in the country, period!! The Garlic, mushroom, and spinach is unmatched in flavor and the brick oven NEVER fails!! I love this place!! Pepe's is on my to-do list every time I return to New Haven.
