Hipster center and over priced drinks... Not impressed

Very loud and crowded, but excellent service and product. I had the Rubeus Shanty (beer lemonade mix) and it was great!

One of our favorite places, we always make time to stop here when we're in town. What a great selection of beers, always with several taproom only brews which is great if you're a fan of the brewery. Food is excellent. The only hard part is getting a seat - it's open seating so it's a bit of a free-for-all. That can be frustrating if you're a larger group, and it's a little annoying to have people look over your shoulder constantly to see how much beer you have left.

Still, a great stop worth the trip.

Was in a group of 4, one guy had just turned 33 (we were all in our 30's) he had his license but his new one had not come in yet. They refused service to the whole party, despite valid id's for the rest. We were Id'd and charged a cover fee to get in where they said nothing. None of us will ever come back.

Great atmosphere, better beer. Stunning outdoor section.

It's nice and big and bad ass beer.. Detroit and Chicago meet in the .middle. only downside is the fact it's packed to the gills alot and the food is killer good

Always great service, we love their beer cheese dip and they always have their staples and new beers to try. If you consider yourself a beer lover you must visit!

I work with the production staff, they are professional and outgoing. Very helpful and you can tell, they care about their craftsmanship.

One of the best Michigan breweries. Great food. Fantastic beer list with many brewery-only beers. Fun atmosphere.

Service is fast and friendly, always something cool going on! Sucks to pay the cover if that's not why you came though haha still great food and great beer, what more could you ask for?

This brewery does unfair practice to support only big boxes stores and release their special items only for those limited stores. By ignoring Small and independent stores like us; we 200 + local stores stop supporting this brewery. If this unethical practice will continuous than local consumer will not getting your products through us.

Great atmosphere and reasonable.
Huge kinda beer makes me confusion.

It's the one that started it all in Grand Rapids for Beer City status. Have live music, ample outdoor seating, and great beer. Staff can be a bit unhelpful or even snooty at times, which is weird, but overall good experience.

Founders is a part of the fabric that gives Grand Rapids it's distinct flavor and feel. The staff are fun and friendly and who wouldn't be when serving up the menu of food and beers they offer; you will love it. The location is great and the building (a completely rehabbed loading dock) has well, loads of character as do the crowds who frequent this icon brewery. Incredible beers, fantastic food, wonderful people.

Great beer good food fun place to visit with friends!

Brewery tour was lots of fun and led by well-versed staff. They accommodated us even though we were late sign ups. The sandwiches were solid offerings and would go well with a beer, but this place truly shines as a place to hang out

I love Founder's. I've been going here for almost 5 years, and they always treat me well. The beer is the best around and three environment is friendly but can lack seats at times.

The beer scene in GR is, of course, terrific. But no matter how many breweries I've visited in GR or around Michigan, Founders is still my go to place. Make sure to grab some food while you're there as well. A+

Judged as soon as we got off the party bus. We were hoping to start our evening here and couldn't even get in. Terrible bouncers judged us before we got off the bus. Beer was bad

Went here this weekend for the first time,and it was just ok. People talked this place up like it was God s gift to earth. Don t get me wrong the beer was great but I literally got served one beer and the waitress never said anything else to me,on top of that it was a fight to the death to get a seat anywhere,and the beer was way overpriced for what I got. I d like to come back on a less busy day but I was told that they are always busy and don t expect it to be calm. Overall a neat place but very pricy and tight

I used to love this bar until they ruined my new years day... Horrible service, worst managers I ever spoke with, they wouldnt even come talk to my face. Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant or bar. Love their beer, but after this experience never drinking it again.

They got too big.... forgot about their roots.

Won't go there any more.

Great service! Friendly and fast. The food was good and the beer was superb! Definitely will be back, if in the area.

If you want Great Beer to wash down a SPICY Chicken Sandwich this is where you can get both.

It was like visiting family I really liked the way they treated you when you walked in the door and was the same all day food was served in 5 min. Of ordering and this was at 12:30 middle of lunch rush

My review is of their BEER not their establishment (I've only been there once). I used to really enjoy Founders, but either my tastes have changed or their process have changed...or a bit of both, but I cannot stomach their beer anymore.

Outside the Porter (which I still think is excellent), the rest of their beers give me pounding headaches, their new release CBS gave me not only a massive headache, but horrible gut rot. A few of their beers stand out, but in today's market I think you can go to just about any mid sized city and find similar quality micro-brews. They just dont stand out anymore.

Drinking beer should be an enjoyable experience, but more and more with founders it's become an exercise in masochism.

I think the better GR brewery by miles is Vivant, and otherwise I'll stick to my local Wisconsin craft brews which don't seem to give me the same experience.

Best beer in Grand rapids. Great apps and sandwiches as well. But expect it to be busy there.

This place is all you could ask for with amazing outdoor seating. Also the staff is very helpful I would recommend this to anyone.

Have a big selection and great variety of different types of beer to choose from. The outside and inside are both nice and have a lot of space to hang out with friends.

Founders has it's mainstay, and they are good. It does weird brews which is fantastic, just expect less than 20% to hit. These guys are going places if they keep it up.

Food at the brewery is good. Loved Rays rye.

Service is horrible, they don't seat you so it's a free for all to find a table and people jump at tables as soon as they are free. You won't get a table unless you are aggressive. They don't have servers either so you have to order at the bar and a food line. For the prices you are pay, they should have servers. The beer is great, but prices aren't better than other bars. The food is good but inconsistent. I would recommend buying beer at the gift shop if you are looking for their seasonal beers and eating elsewhere.

Good food, ambiance and a live band. Even for people who don't drink beer.

If you do drink beer, this is one of the top breweries in the country.

NOT dog-friendly. I've never been to a brewery that does not allow dogs on their [empty] patio.

Phenomenal beer, mouth watering apps and entrees. If I could rate higher than 5 stars I would, I cannot recommend this place enough. We make a pilgrimage from the Detroit area to founders every year for the harvest festival, it is something that we always look forward to. Even when the new Detroit location is opened, we will still come back here.

Beer was good, food was mediocre. Service was slow. I literally had to chase down our server to cash out our tab s o we could leave, after I had already asked once. Food space is kind of large and impersonal. Beer was great though!

Great place, wide range of beer anyone can find something to drink. Food is good and our bartender Josh was great and knew what he was talking about.

Their beer is good. Their merch is expensive... It is ALWAYS PACKED. Their outdoor area is really something special. I would have to say that I am a fan!

We heard great things about the food so went there with our friends. There were nine of us. We waited a long time for our dinner and the waitress was not very attentive. Our water and pop glasses were empty. We had to ask for more. When the food was delivered, two of us didnt get anything. We thought she went back to get ours. Waited about 10 minutes, then we had ask to have her come to our table to ask about our food. She made it sound like it was our problem. She never put our order in. Ask us if we had been there the whole time. Really . That's what you say to someone who's upset.? Ask for manager, she told us she would take care of us. The waitress told us she bought our pop. that's it!!!

My waitress was horrible! They brought me the wrong order and I didn t notice until I had taken two bites of it, Since it was a sandwich and they all look the same!! she then went ahead and blamed me, saying well my other table won t get his order now since you took a bite out of it yet I never received my original order either!
She didn t come and check on us until we were almost done with our food.
She just had a horrible attitude all around!

Great service awesome brew great educational basis for all workers to tell you about how things work how they come up with awesome craft brews definitely a must see for anyone local or just passing through.

Seriously tho, the brews are legendary, but the service and atmosphere is outstanding!! The outdoor patio are is always a great location to enjoy a good brew and conversation.

The peanuts were exquisite tonight or maybe it was the 2018 CBS.

I was very impressed with the covid procedures in place by founder. When you show up there is someone outside to tell you the procedures, then they have an extra table to serve food from at each table. After that, we witnessed an employee clean a table and chairs and he got all of the touch points thoroughly! I was impressed!

Holy heck has it grown since our first trip. Great drinks, good food and lovely staff.
