The meal was very disappointing and I had a really simple order. I got black bean soup and a caesar salad. The soup was mostly water with very few beans and no flavor. The chives on top, instead of being cut into little pieces, were like 1" long. The salad was terrible. Please, if you're the owner or manager go and have a caesar salad. Whatever brand of dressing you're using is tasteless. And, who puts tomatoes in a caesar salad??? The only thing I can think is that maybe they gave me low fat dressing instead of the regular.

Just moved to w-s. would a real craft brewer please stand up. It was like going to a popup wing joint with crappier food and designer beer taps. If this place had real craft beer competition in the area, it would be long gone. If you really want to try their beer, buy it in small quantities at the grocery store to at least avoid a terrible meal, but fair warning, prepare to be gouged and ultimately disappointed. Sorry winston, craft beer just has not made it here yet...

Foothills is a well known brewery for their Sexual Chocolate that they release around Valentines Day, but don't miss out on the rest of what they brew. I recommend either the Jade IPA or the topaz pale ale. They have a wide variety of very well crafted brews. The food is also fantastic at the brewpub. All supported by a great wait staff. One of the better brewpubs I have been too.

This is my first time eating at the brewery. I've enjoyed the beer for years. The food was no where as good as people claim. We came in at around 10pm on a Sunday night. Our waiter was far less than enthusiastic to be serving us. First greet was approx 10 minutes after sitting down at the first booth near the kitchen entrance. We order beers and the charcuterie app. About 5 minutes later ordered our entree. I got the chefs choice "gourmet" tacos with baked Mac and cheese. My girl got the cheese burger med rare and our friend got the buffalo chicken wrap with o rings. Our food came out approx 20 mins after ordering. Our app was completely forgotten about and the waiter admitted he forgot to ring it up. We turned it down as our entrees where already in front of us. My girls burger was well done when ordered med rare. My "gourmet" tacos were just blackened chick with romaine, tomatoes, and a sour cream based sauce. For $13 I was extremely let down at the quality of the tacos. The burger wasn't cooked anywhere near correct and the chicken wrap was fine according to my friend. For all the hype to food and service gets I'm glad I'm not local to Winston because I will not return to eat here but the beer is phenomenal so i will continue purchase back home. We didn't tell the server of the issue with the burger because we got the feeling he wasn't interested in making our dinner the best it could be.

Tried this place at the recommendation of a co-worker. They didn't have the sandwich he recommended, so I had the "Brewhouse Cuban," pulled pork, ham, and Swiss cheese with house made mustard on a roll. The sandwich was spectacular. The house mustard is a slightly spicy brown. It has a slight bite and a wonderful flavor. To drink, I started with the house brand Kolsch. This is a light lager. It has a bright taste and a light sunny color. I'd recommend it highly. My wife, who does not like beer, gave it a ringing compliment, "I could drink it." To follow up, I tried the Sexual Chocolate Stout. I was not amused. I found it to be bitter, although, I did find a hint of chocolate. I asked the waitress to take it away, not expecting her take it off the check. She did.

Overall, a great experience that I expect to repeat.

I've been coming here for the past five years and they have improved on their beers and food markedly year after year. Seriously, they have some of the best local craft beer of anywhere I've been to personally. Check them out if you're visiting the fantastic city of Winston Salem!

Went in tonight a Friday .. At 9:40pm Not busy at all ! Was immediately seated in a booth and sat and waited about 10 minutes and while watching many waitress stand around and chat , not a single one came to ask for drink order or anything! I decided I guess I will go up the street ! The host that sat me down even held the door open for me! What a gentleman not even noticing that he recently seated me and I hadn't been served ! Foothills you have to do better ! Not the experience I was wanting coming 1.5 hrs away to try you out!

While the food never disappoints, the beer does, almost always. The handful of decent brews are from companies they bought out. They're not as good as before they were bought out though. Your brewmaster must have had 1 too many miller lites.

Heard & saw good reviews & was disappointed. at 4 pm and pretty empty the food came out slow & wasn't good. French fries looked brown and dried out & pork chimichanga barely had any meat or flavor, was soggy & doughy on the inside. Neither dish was worth finishing or a doggy bag & we weren't asked if we liked it nor an apology. Expensive too.

4 stars because this experience wasn t what we ve come to expect from this brewpub. The service was very lacking and the food was ok. The burgers that 3 out of 4 of us ordered we over cooked, medium rare ordered, medium well was served. And if we needed anything we had to go find a server even though we were sitting at the bar.....we have eaten here several times and have always been very impressed. Sadly, not this time.

Stopped by while passing back through during a visit to Hanging Rock. We were thirsty and hungry from hiking, so we took our chances even though it was Labor Day.

There was a short wait due to the holiday and the rona, but normal for an in demand location.

Once seated, we had our orders ready so we could get our food and drinks fast. The Oktoberfest was super tasty, full of flavor but not too heavy. I got the Winston Hot Chicken with fries, which was the bomb. I plan on stopping by anytime I'm in the area.

Also looking forward to trying the cafe nextdoor.

Overall I really like Foothills. A few times we didn't get good service but most times the service was excellent. we find this true of most restaurants at this level.

The beers are good, but like most people it's really a matter of personal taste.

the food is also good with the beer ketchup being a very enjoyable addition. I don't understand why a brewery would not have a beer cheese soup but the menu items they do have that showcases the beer are very tasty.

My biggest problem with the place is it's way to loud. Huge echo chamber with no fabric. it can get hard to talk to you dining partner at times.

Truly an icon in Winston-Salem and the regional craft beer scene. No trip to the triad would be complete without a stop at the brewpub. It's got charm for days, world class beer and chef Shane does not play.

Some of the best beer in the world, great food, and very friendly staff, however they don't seem to be prepared for rushes or Fri/Sat service...overall great though.

Also, if you come to drink Miller light, don't expect to be satisfied.

I drove over 3 hours to meet some friends here. The trip was very well worth the drive and time. I love the Stout on tap. Very good beer, I also tried a few others. I am a dark beer lover and the Foothills Brewpub did not disappoint me.The bar tenders were wonderful. I lived the set up!! I bought some of the goodness they have here to take home. Cheers

Smack in the middle of downtown. Roomy, vibrant, wide variety of beer. They have their standard staple beers you can find most anywhere, but they have a pretty good run of seasonals and specials too. The food was good, especially that hot chicken sandwich.

Site states dog friendly. It s not. You can sit outside in the few seats they have available if you have a dog. From out of town and traveling with an animal so stopped here since the site states specifically dog friendly. Arrive and show up to get a table and no one is there to seat us. I have to walk back to the bar to find someone texting on there phone instead of being at the front. She then proceeds to get an attitude when I ask for a table...seriously you re the hostess. But it doesn t matter because I can t have my dog now unless I want to sit outside in the cold. Nope I just went to the two other breweries within a mile that let dogs in and we re way nicer to customers. Way to have a misleading site and employees who don t care. Do yourself a favor and go to the other breweries anyways beer is better at their establishments you can get foothills in a Harris teeter if you really want it. But I ll never buy it again

I had very high hopes for the brewery, as I love the beer. The service took forever, close to an hour to get the appetizer out. The food and beer was good when it finally arrived. I don't expect everyone would have this experience, and hope they fix the issue.

Went tonight and have been there with my family several times. Food and service is always good. My favorite beer is the Hoppy Yum IPA. If you like IPAs, I think you will love it.

Tonight I had the Impossible Burger which is a veggie burger and to my surprise it was very good! I am probably the furthest from being a vegetarian. I am a hamburger fanatic and I love beef, but I wanted to try something different. The taste was very good and it had a garlic and onion hint to it. The texture was good and very similar to ground beef. I think most hamburger fans and vegetarians will like it.

I figured that it would be worth mentioning that I had the best burger I've ever had in my life at Foothills and I've had many at many different places. This was a few years ago and I can't remember what it is was called. I do remember it was a special item and it had cheddar and jalapenos inside it. I think it had bacon on top too. It was absolutely the best burger I have ever had and I wish they would make it a regular menu item.

They serve Foothills Brewing beers on tap, and have wine and liquor specials. They have a full menu, but we just got the large Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese and cinnamon butter. It was good! Tuesday is trivia night, so we got some entertainment, but the wait staff was lacking.

It is very rare that I walk into an eating establishment and get AMAZING service. Me and my boyfriend visited on the 13th and were greeted with smiles and quickly seated. The ambience was perfect and I quickly fell in love with the look and feel. Our server, who s name I can t remember unfortunately, quickly came over and greeted us with waters. As it was my first time being there, and not knowing what to drink, she asked what beers I liked and brought me a few tasters. But it took one, ONLY ONE, beer and I was sold. The double IPA was bar none the best on the menu and best I ve ever had. We ordered our food and it arrived quickly, still hot, and it too was amazing! The server we had was clocking out but another equally as pleasant server took over, but again I m terrible with names. As we were leaving my boyfriend dropped his Togo box and without hesitation the bartender went to the back to place another order for us, we didn t even ask! Needless to say we will be returning and I will be recommending Foothills to everyone I know! 10/10

As I return to my own restaurant tomorrow for work this is the standard I wish to take with me for me and my crew

Consistently excellent beer and a great space to try some. Get a flight and some bavarian pretzels and sit outside on a lovely day. Dog-friendly, at least outside. They have live music regularly and release parties for some of their new or popular beers. I only wish they had 1-2 more vegetarian options. That would make it a slam dunk for all who visit. Oh, and we always buy some of their house-made mustard to keep at home. Brilliant!
