A good, cool airport, as always Russian in its repertoire, always not happy, normal airport, Moscow airports, the bottom
Horrible airport, old, there are water leaks during rainy weather and toilets ... But what does it stink. It's ugly, the seats are not comfortable, dirty, ... Clearly, this airport is unworthy of the leading economic power of Europe. I am shocked, especially since it is the busiest of Berlin. Really disappointed. In addition, I had to spend my night in this horrible airport as my easyJet flight was canceled. An airline that collects delays. But that's another story.
Nice city airport. Reminds me of London city airport but much busier. Security at peak times can be a nightmare. But I love the no frills airport concept with Tegels short ways.
In recent years, I have never experienced a flight in which WISAG managed to get the suitcases out of the aircraft under 40 minutes. It is a tragedy with the WISAG ....
There are very little services, restaurants and duty free. The airport is outdated and needs a refurb.
I've never had such a bad airport. You won't find such an unfriendly staff anywhere else
The 2nd worst airport I have been to (The first being Berlin's other airport...) I can't believe that the capital city of Europe's economic powerhouse has such an awful primary airport: the government should be ashamed. The whole place feels dirty and run down and is in desperate need of refurbishment. There are very few facilities and each gate has it's own security check- meaning that once you have passed through security you are stuck at the gate with the only shop being a kiosk and nothing else at all. I would try and leave it as late as possible before arriving here. The only good thing is that once you are off the plane it is only a very quick walk to the exit of the airport.
Don't leave your suviniers shopping in this airport..
Too bad that you have to give a star. Rude, incompetent, haphazard throughout all areas. No more Tegel!
The airport employees are totally uninterested. They don't care about their arriving or arriving guests.
Tegel Airport is my favorite for it's smaller, friendly scale, variety of shops, efficient onboarding, and fast access to Berlin via car, taxi or bus.
Terrible organization and structure. I'm forced to fly from here for convenience reasons at least 10 times a year and it's always a huge stress
Terrible attention, disrespectful staff, the worst in Berlin.
One of the most beautiful airport in Germany, I think. Not so big. Unfortunately too much going on ...
Small airport. Layout is not for the travelers but more for airport function.
Confusing, no sensible signage, permanent taxi idiots, no sufficient number of seats before check-in, barely intelligible loudspeaker announcements, constantly with the remark that smoking is only allowed in the designated areas, but not a besch .. Smokers island after check-in and everywhere horrendous prices, ranging from 7-day parking for 139, - to 0.5 L Fanta for 3, - and at the Fanta was also the vending machine defective ...
In addition, very friendly staff, a polite question with "I just do not have time!" answered ...
So if it does not have to be - voluntarily never again ... !!!
This is the most awesome airport I have met so far ... !!!
One star fur so bad service ,is to much , this airport is very bad is it big shame for Berlin , I head this airport , and Terrible then everything is it baggage service . Bad , bad , very bad
Very crowded. blur. Information staff is also unfriendly.
It is sad that the 2 airport in West Berlin should close soon.
There is consideration for the disabled at the airport. The Department of Lost and Reality is terrible and the field itself is quite old
Bad experience, disorganized airport without any respect for people who stand more than two hours to catch the flight, without any infrastructure.
Outdated and uncomfortable airport. Long badly managed lines, unhelpful stuff. Overcrowded gate exits. No self service boarding pass printing kiosks. The star is for free WiFi only.
I hate flying out of this airport. Surprisedly the other promised airport in Berlin is still under construction....they cant improve this airport?
this airport is small, limited food service providers and always line ups
I rather take the train to Munchen and take my direct flight back home from their airport.
Bad experience. Slow and late boarding, not very kind service. The airport is very unpractical, there is not enough space for All the people who are waiting for their check in og luggage drop. The stores are not interesting and there are few of them. All in All, would wanna go here again. But would find another possible place to travel through.
Tegel was ok it wasn't as bad as it looks on the outside with its brutalist architecture with military looking interior. real smooth check-in and fast security. got me into my gate well early. but the real props go to the lowkey racist white dude at security :) berlin is lovely tho i never had any racist experiences here the last day which is a bummer tbh
Poorly managed airport. Keep your expectations to a 1 star level and you will be okay.
One of the worst operated airports in the world.
Ground staff is not able to deliver the absolute basics: stairs, bus or luggage.
Planes tend to already take off till luggage arrives.
Absolute failure.
Small and simple. We were assigned terminal C so this review is based off that.
Easy access with the city bus.
We used easyJet to fly to and from here and it was easier than compared to Munich or Frankfurt. We were already checked in so we went straight to security, which was fast due to 4 open lines.
There is a decently stocked duty free shop right after security, a newspaper store and two bars with snacks (sandwiches, muffins, pretzels, ...).
Gates are easy to find because everything is in one area.
Not sure why everyone else is complaining for.
No free drinking water except the sinks in sanitary facilities
Has to be the worst airport ever and an embarrassment to a capital city. Passport control is right next to the one security checkpoint at each gate. This leads to massive delays and queues at the gate. Especially as the security staff are more interested in chatting to each other than actually scanning your items.
All in all an embarrassment to the airline industry and Germany
Recommend. Going straight through after check in. Sit with your iPad/kindle and wait it out. Only airport I arrive extremely early at because of its ineptitude
Tiny airport, unpleasant staff. Post-control space smaller than a student's student. Berlin is a beautiful city and this airport completely reduces my experience.
The only good thing is that public transport is very close to the exit, so it is possible to carve out as soon as possible.
Not great for big city like Berlin. You really need to time your arrival so you spend minimal time here. I flew on Sunday night from terminal C and it was standing room only. No seats, people sitting on bins, on floor etc. The airport is well connected and easy to get taxi to or from but this isn t like bigger EU airports like Schiphol or Barcelona so don t expect decent shops or any food real.
Not terribly accessible by public transportation. I took a taxi from south Berlin since I had a bag. There are very long lines to check in (standing in line all the way into the food court and beyond). I noticed a lot of stains and litter on the floor and seats. Staff were polite and security officers were professional. C Terminal seems like a temporary shelter or something made of metal sheets and glass. I get the impression this airport is running well beyond its originally planned capacity. It functions but having to get through packed crowds at the front door was unpleasant.
In two words: German "efficiency".
You can write PhD thesis while waiting for passport check and baggage claim.
Architectural style of the building: Neo-brutalism, a.k.a. Tegelism
This airport is old and though it has its own charm, it is totally unadapted to air transportation needs of 2015 : boarding rooms are very small and overcrowded, check-in areas are small and queues makes congestions in numerous areas, no direct airport railway link...Please fix Brandenburg airport and open it ASAP!
Everything okay
In contrast, everything was too fast for Corona .....
Good service from airport staff
The tax refund process is also smooth
But airlines and counters are disappointing
It is recommended that you choose carefully
Worst airport of the world
I used to travel to Berlin every month and it's getting more and more difficult to be satisfied about this airport.
Everytime you need to do a queue of 1hr to go to the boarding gate.
I never so an airport with so old material control and also so slow control .
Berlin isn't it one of the biggest city of Europe ?!
The airport is a great imposition. Very confusing and far too few seats in the waiting area
The Tegel Airport is sometimes a bit old, but I feel comfortable there and the stalls, where you can consume something, even in spite of the airport stress to stay!
Over-aged airport, poor connection to public transport. Hygiene on toilets leaves much to be desired. Too little seat in waiting hall.
Not a great airport. Actually pretty crappy. Yet in some odd way it feels charming.
Stolen computer. Could have avoided if the staff lady was a little more helpful and would not reply das ist nicht meine Problem. Apathetic Service.
Endless waiting, staff who hardly speak English, which is very surprising coming from a capital, a real torture
tegel airport is definitely through its prime. the airport buildings are noticeably outdated and at least before the corona crisis, the airport was regularly well above the load limit in terms of the number of people. Nevertheless, tegel is popular with many Berliners because the well thought-out layout of at least the main terminal makes it easier to find your way around and shortens the distances, which is not the case at most international airports. the berliner flughafengesellschaft is planning to shut down tegel in favor of BER (if it should actually be finished) and the area is to be reused with mixed development. it remains to be seen in which direction the development will progress.
He hopes not to lose his suitcases because they do not answer your e-mails or phone calls. Never seen such incompetence
TXL ..... against BER .... what should you say as a Berliner .....
The security check is underground. 45 minutes waiting for the flight LH045 on 10.10.19 at the gate 07, the security staff emphasizes casual and slow, so you almost missed his flight. From the shift manager one is More
Airport very ramshackle and battered. Half of the sanitary facilities are blocked. The other half is badly rotten. Actually a shame for the capital. The second star is for the central location, which still saves a little ...
This airport is extremely messy. In most African countries, the airport is in better shape.
Was one of the last visits, as the day after tomorrow will probably be closed forever. Mood very depressed, all shops in liquidation or already closed. It's a shame, it was a cool city airport
Good airport! Fast processing and no eternal waiting time!
Does a FLUGhafen not a shopping center! Very good!
Bad. I had reviewed Charleroi the worst in Europe but this is even worse! Go figure.
It is a little damaged and can only be reached by bus, although it perfectly fulfills its function.
When arriving at the airport we looked for an information point for public transport and we were attended by a very impolite Spanish girl with minimal desire to help us. They do not have friendly staff.
Disastrous airport.
The employees are unfriendly, jostle their way forward even when they are privately and much more ...
In addition, the terminal is far too small for the number of passengers.
Nobody has heard of organization there. When I got there on time, the staff thought that the flight would be canceled.
Recommended if you want to live on your skin a few hours at the time of the GDR
Chaos Pure !!!
Catastrophic!!!
Never again
Airport feeling like in the eighties, only with the overcrowding of the 2019s
The least efficient airport I have ever visited, the security screening is shockingly slow despite there being tons of staff. Once you make it inside there s hardly any seating and way too many people for the size of the room.
An old airport that has been operating at its absolute limit in every respect for several years. Stiff air in the terminal, little seating, sometimes long waiting times at the baggage claim, security checks and clearance. Have already experienced that actually punctual machines could only leave later, because the clearance took too long. No train connection, so you have to drive first with crowded buses or a taxi to the next S-Bahn stop, which is very unpleasant, especially in summer. On the positive side, the roads at the airport are relatively short. If BER airport is completed sometime, the airport situation may improve. All in all a capital of a European country unworthy - for international guests not a figurehead.
This is the worse airport I've ever been in my life! :-(
Worst Customer Service - EVER.
I was waiting for my friend to arrive in front of the terminal. When he came, we hugged, talked and he realized he had left his coat inside the baggage carousel room. He asked the person standing at the door if he can go and pick it but was refused. We asked him what is our next option. He said we should go and check Lost and Found. We said that it is impossible that the jacket made his way to lost and found, probably 5 mins have passed, but the airport person just kept repeating "No,No, check Lost and Found". So we went to the lost and found desk, hoping that they would be kind enough to send a person to pick the jacket. Of course not. The guy there said, that he had no jacket and that it would probably arrive in 3-4 hours, and he gave us a card with a phone number and an email. Thank you very much. We came back to the gate, and started arguing our case, but with no success. Finally we had to talk to other people, waiting for their friends and relatives, and make them call and pick the jacket on their way out. We spent 1hr, trying to explain something so simple, and yet the staff just wouldn't want to help. Thank you very much Tegel!
Tegel has been a great experience for 20+ years. Its' closeness to the city centre is unparalleled and while the overall satisfaction is somewhat compromised due to cramped space inside the terminal, nothing beats the 20 min ride to the airport.
Well organized, central. It's just a shame that it closes ...
This is by far the worst airport there is. Everything was very tight, very little seating. On the toilet at Gate A03 you could only use one, because the other was missing the door. 1 1/2 hours before the check - in, then a huge queue in the security control area where then again very unfriendly employees. They are not the fastest either, and then you have to listen to it, you should be there sooner, so that the flight leaves on time and has no delay. Is of course very funny, if the check - in opens only 1 1/2 hours before. Berlin is such a big city and has such a terrible airport. For me an absolute disaster and not even worth a star. The next time I would rather take the 6-7 hours drive before buying this catastrophic airport again.
The staff on the tax refund side is very rude! The people at the tax refund window told us to go to the opposite side, and the other person rushed us to the bank. People from the bank asked us to go to the tax refund window! !! In the end, the tax refund was completed with the help of enthusiastic tourists, only to find that the staff of the three places were wrong! I should go to customs! !! This airport is really grassy! The little one is dying! Never come again! Encountered several anti-Chinese abuses in Germany, rub! f ** k TXL! F ** K BERLIN!
Narrow and confusing. But lean processes. Little shopping in the morning, everything closed. Proximity to the center of Berlin positive
Very small but not so practical ...
We walk a lot from the bus to the boarding gate, because it is built in a circle.
It's an older airport, you can cut back on that.
BUT ... the "friendliness" of the staff is bottomless. Berlin snout or not ....
The most unfriendly and rude ground personel at the security check and boarding in whole Europe!
Very slow service. The checked in baggage took more than 45 minutes to come to the baggage belt.
I think we can't say that's an airport!! Long queues, almost no shops, not many chairs...
I flew several times from Tegel. There are worse airports. New, modern and big does not necessarily have to be better. Tegel offers short distances, a big advantage. The airport is already far beyond its actual limits in terms of capacity, but it is still running surprisingly well. And I can not say anything bad against the staff. I have always been politely addressed and treated.
Of course, it s too small, there aren t enough armchairs, duty-free is very funny, but on the whole I didn t make a negative impression, even seemed nice. Liked the cafe with pastries
Not enough staff. We had to wait hours until a finger came, because no staff was there to let us out.
If you're in terminal C, it's really bad, A was cool compared to C
