The announcements in the area C38 ff are completely incomprehensible, no matter in which language. As if someone was talking with his head in the ass, the speakers are utter snot. Impossible.

Flughafen Tegel the airport with the short distances Unfortunately now badly organized in the current time. So that not so many people are allowed into the empty Terminal C, there are now incredibly long lines in front of the Terminal during the holiday season. Employees run through the lines and call flights that are allowed in. Then they have to cheat past the snake. A big homemade mess

At other airport you go through the security check and then go first to the gate. Here you go to the gate, then to the security check, and after the security check is if you wait a small duty free shop and a coke or snack automat. Nevertheless, he has his charm. When you arrive here it is very fast until you are outside. The bus transfer from gate to plane, if necessary is also good.

This is not what one would expect out of the main airport for a major European city such as Berlin. There is very little seating, gates are small and crowded, not many options for food/amenities, not at all modern... Fly through Koln and avoid this terminal altogether if possible-- or at the very least minimize any layover here.

Very small, looks very outdated. Their baggage tracing center is just not big enough to accommodate the people when there's a baggage handling problem. The people at the counter are nice, they do what then can, but it's not enough. I can't wait until they open the new airport in Berlin.

Third World! Grotty infrastructure, unmotivated, overburdened, puny staff, sanitary facilities such as on a remote highway and security controls, which are from both the staff and the equipment forth their passenger needs.

An unworthy spectacle and a capital of a civilized country inappropriate. But ... dit is Balin!

I was always super satisfied with Tegel. Nice staff, everything clearly signposted and, above all, easy to reach. It is totally selfish to conclude Tegel only for financial reasons. He also has losses every day, but that's acceptable. I'm really angry before especially because of the taxi costs, from me, which are well over 55 euros.

Terrible organization. It has never happened before that the departure was in accordance with the plan and from the previously announced goal. There is practically no place for waiting after check-in, and you have to check-in a few hours in advance because otherwise you have no chance to make your flight. The most helpful at the airport are always the security guards who probably know how this airport works and often turn to help travelers. Best regards, airport security.

It's a small airport designed like in the old days: the gates are are arranged in a circle and you can drive and walk straight into the gate. This may have been more efficient in the past days when flights were fewer, but today it makes gate access harder given that some flights at any given gate may be late and this type of layout produces long queues and difficult overstacking. Given that the terminal floor space is not much, you end up with queues that take most of it and a difficult walk to your gate. Security is very efficient though, so even if you are part of a massive queue at the gate, they'll handle it very well at the security access point.

The airport Berlin-Tegel is for me one of the nicest I know. Here it is almost comfortable, clear, clearly structured and the staff are competent and very friendly. I like to fly from Tegel and am always happy to land there again. It is also very easy to reach by public transport. For me it is THE Berlin Airport!

Despite all the criticism this old airport's architecture is still famous: In Terminal A 20 meters from cab to the gate! Yes, it is not brand new, but because of this it cannot be compared to fancy ones like SIN, KUL, etc.
Eurowings having chosen Terminal D needs to be regarded as an unforced error, but also there we see improvements.

The worst airport I have been to in my life.

The worst airport I have been to in my life.
While changeover you have to wait in the super long queue for the passport control, leave the airport and then again go throught a very long passport and luggage control! What's the sense?
I had only 1 hour for the changeover and I barely managed to be at the gate on time!
I don't know who has worked on the plan of this airport but it is just the worst airport ever! Omit if you can!!!
Of course air berlin lost our lugggage because of the short stopover and general mess on the airport.

Indictment. Three punctual flights in one week, which lead to total delays due to the lack of buses or the incompetence of the bus operators in Tegel.
I am already 90 minutes. About boarding time. Because no bus brings me to the plane. Then prefer a new airport with structural defects. My safety is probably not guaranteed when the old airport is bursting at the seams Which image projects this to the rest of the world. On the day of the Berlin Marathon

Extremely cramped and small field, you should also be prepared for queues. At the terminal itself, check-in again was nothing more than a small tax-free, a couple of cafes and a bookstore (C-terminal).

One of the worst airports in Europe. The airport is way too small for all the passengers, all the hallways are really tight and always crowded. Prepare yourself for long queues and waiting.

Rather small airport on the older side, but very easy to navigate once you re in the correct terminal. With that said, each terminal has its own quirks and various wait times for security so learn the ropes if you re a frequent travelled as it will save you a tremendous amount of time standing around.

I've been to small airports from Charles Yeager all the way to monsters like DXB, ATL and Tokyo Narita. This is by far the WORST airport I have ever been to. When we landed I could see our plane from baggage claim yet it took over 35 minutes for luggage to start showing up.

When we left we discovered there were no automated ticket counters. You have to go see a person at a gate to get your ticket. As for security we all know they suck so there is no point in complaining about that. But the way they route you means you have a line to scan your ticket, then a security line, then a final line for your passport check.

After that they route you through a duty free to get to your gate which as I am writing this is in a temporary steel structure with an inflatable roof and a trailer for toilets.

Oh and a water costs almost 4 .

The airport has a lot of history and like everything that has a lot of history, it is old. But it is not only old, it is also mercilessly overloaded with a multiple of the intended number of passengers. Nothing is up to date anymore. The waiting areas before and after check-in, at the security check - bad. Waiting times of 45 minutes for the baggage claim are not uncommon. But the worst thing is the connection to public transport. There are a few buses that are regularly stuck in traffic and for those who want to afford it, the taxi. Achso, you can of course also park your car at the TXL - at prices where you could buy parking spaces elsewhere. There is no siding for long-distance trains or S-Bahn. Conclusion: This airport is a single disaster and unworthy of a European capital. Most international airports in third world countries are generations more modern.

A total sh*tstain for the rest of Germany. I love Germany, and I didn't think there'd be a part of it I hate until today, in fact, I have never hated airports until today.

Arrive half a day in advance if you have a flight to catch. I arrived 2hrs before boarding, and got stuck in a queue. The staff were few and mostly nonchalant about their jobs. They would occasionally try and herd a closing flight's passengers to another queue to process them. I ended up in that position. By the time I got access to any staff, I was told it was too late, and I had missed my flight. Mind you, this was not before me freaking the hell out that I'd miss my flight. But never mind that, the staff continued at a snails pace as if their sh*t smells like roses.

So $1200 light and I've had to book another flight.

Other notable mentions are:
Lack of seating in general landside. I just want to be able to sit and consume my burger king ffs. If I must be stuck here.
Limited amenities after security screening. Have a feed before the gate!!!

Seriously, Denpasar airport, an airport in a third world sh*t hole is far more efficient than this joke of an airport.

You are a blight in German efficiency. I'm coming in via Frankfurt next time, their airport is awesome by comparison.

Airport is okay but unfortunately just a bit too small as there is simply too much traffic for Berlin. The baggage claim is really overwhelmed. Even 40 min. still waiting in line to baggage drop off before departure.

Berlin-Tegel was a safe capital airport with charm...

Berlin-Tegel was a safe capital airport with charm and history. The last state-owned airport in the federal capital. What many do not know: Tegel was intended for an expansion. He already had a tunnel for a subway (from Berlin-Jungfernheide) directly to the airport and enough construction space to implement the plans for another terminal in the famous honeycomb design. It is sad that Berlin-Tegel has fallen victim to the failed politics of the last 20 years. Despite the referendum on September 24, 2017, in which the majority spoke out against the closure of Berlin-Tegel, the government did not follow the will of the people. Soon we will sorely miss this airport when BER opens and reaches its capacity limits. My special thanks go to the air traffic controllers and everyone who has always ensured safe operation. I hope you all have found a new and comparable job.

A new airport would be nice. Traveling alone and without checked baggage is bearable. But if you have children, checked baggage, and no time to spare you'll be in for a real nightmare. No matter the time, check in and the security check will take at least 2 hours if you have baggage. Arriving is a blessing compared to the departure.

When arriving, I think that the baggage will come ...

When arriving, I think that the baggage will come out soon so it is very good. However, it is not good as a departure airport. Because it is narrow, and departures are often delayed more than anything else. Also the flight almost never came on time.

If you headed to the city from the airport, the EUR 2.80 one way kip Einzel Berlin AB is enough. If you do not turn back on the same route you can get off in the middle within 2 hours. However, as there seems to be a 48-hour ticket, let's consider taking action plan and buy it.

When going from gate A to London Heathrow, there was only one row of security checks and passport controls, and there was no end even if it was the boarding start time. Delay of departure flight about 1 hour is occurring on a daily basis, so it always makes me uneasy when there is a transit. I think that there were only vending machines for drinks depending on the gate in the security area. A 02 has a small duty free shop and a cafe.

Hello, this is Berlin. We love paperwork and are full of administrative nonsense, and we can t get anything done. But we really want you to take us seriously as a city because we are - supposedly - the capital of Germany. We would like to welcome you to this 3rd tier regional airport because it s the best we could do and we can t get our stuff together to build a modern airport.

P.S bonus points go out to the older east Berlin lady working the security gates with the atrociously dyed red hair who insists on speaking German to people going on international flights, is rude and low key racist. You are the MVP of Tegel

Great when flying out of this airport as super quick. However I fly into this airport and least once a week and I cannot remember a single time when we have been able to exit the aeroplane immediately after landing. There is either a lack of Steps or people to drive the buses to collect us or like tonight (which took 40 minutes to resolve) no one to direct us into a parking position. Considering I travel a lot this is really annoying and has a real impact on people s working life! This must be due to low staffing which should be rectified as the quality of the service that s being provided is less than poor when flying into this airport! I d advise not to use this airport if in a hurry!

Terrible. Flight delayed and then canceled without any explicit information on what to do. Wait 4 hours at the counter to change the ticket and then see it close in the face at half past ten in the evening and having to return at 4 am. No flight information or a possible refund for overnight stay at the hotel (however useless given the need to resubmit at the counter within a few hours). In all this lost baggage because no one has indicated how to recover it. In conclusion, extreme disorganization to which are added bad services (poor food, not working machines). In three words, chaotic, disorganized and neglected: inconceivable for a city like Berlin.

Badly structured airport. Both spaces and services are insufficient, especially at Terminal D Gate 70-80. Think well with how much advance you make the Chek-In because then it is boredom (2 bars, 1 souvenir shop, 1 bathroom) and if the plane is late it will not be easy to pass the time. P.S. Wi-Fi is allowed for just one hour! The information on the status of flights is also lacking!

Cramped, decrepit and soulless airport with limited transport links to central Berlin. Security is lax and eateries few and far between. There were dodgy people rummaging around the bins and begging in the airport foyer. Once you pass security, you re in a contained area with no shops etc. One of the worst airports in Europe.

I love TXL for its easy accessibility and its short distances. However, the ground crew has now become a matter of course regarding delays, which is questionable. Technical difficulties (eg not functioning parking lights ?!), sparsely populated security lines and a general weak personnel organization are added. If the political plan is to make TXL unpopular among travelers, they should look forward to BER the airport management clearly position themselves against it.
