Go early to not be a sardine, secure your valuables since there is a higher rate of pickpockets. Dont forget the side streets to get a better flavor of the original Castro. Better prices for souvenirs.

Good place to buy anything you need, cheap prices and quality of all types. Clothes, shoes, kitchen stuff, tools, souvenirs of all kinds etc. 100% recommended.

So busy stalls crossed between souvenirs and car boot sale tho. Lots of second hand stuff

A unique place in the heart of the city whose visit is a must. I recommend going soon and getting lost in the back streets where you can still find the spirit of the true Trail on which Gomez de la Serna wrote.

Very nice and cozy market. Plan 1 to 2 hours to go here since the market is bigger than you can imagine. Prices are fair but definitly on the cheap side.

The Madrid Trail, famous throughout Spain. You can go up and down these charming streets. Just seeing its antiques, the shops, the environment that surrounds you, its people and, enjoying good toasts with a beer are worth it!

Hard work on a Sunday morning through the crowds...

3 starts only because its a long walk and downhill.

I would have given it a 5 star if the playing field was level and if the goods for sale were cheaper then that outside on the main aide streets.. just remember the longer you walk down the long it will take the to walk back up the slope. Its a 15min walk from SOL central station.

Don't expect top quality stuff, its a mixture of mainly new (but old goods not sold in their previous life) and some used goods. You get everything there from baby, mens and women clothes to electrical goods.

The atmosphere is definitely busy and lots to see, do and eat. But just be prepared to walk.

Worth a visit if your in Madrid on Sunday.. if i did come back i probably wont go.. my negativity might be someone elses positivity. Go and check to make your own decision.

Recommended to come in winter, as there are fewer people and you can see everything they offer you here. In summer, literally, you can't walk.

Anyone who likes thousands of people in a confined space would be happy, for us it was nothing, it's just a flea market.

Overcrowded flea market with cheap chinese merchandise, nothing local nothing worth buying. The only interesting thing to see is the antique shops to the left and right of the central passage but these as well are so overpriced due to the many tourists..

Very crazy busy flew market! So many vendors. Only picked up some cool glasses for 5 euros. We got there right before it ended at 3pm.

One of the best place to spend few hours on Sunday in Madrid. Lot of useful products at cheaper price. Please check the timings , most of the shops open until 15:00 hours only.

Beautiful market in the streets of Madrid. there are many products at advantageous prices. Very characteristic is the square where the exchange of stickers and cards takes place. In the same square there are several cheap and good quality tapas bars

Stroll through its streets full of antiques, junk, clothes, records, books, jewelry, whatever you want ... Take a cane in some of the authentic places that still remain ... If you come to Madrid do not stop going.

It s a nice place to visit. It s sells a lot of stuff specially remembers from Madrid. You should walk until the end. Because in the end you can find lowers prices.

My favorite place to go on Sunday. With my family, friends or alone, it is a place that I have always loved. I love going to the trail all year. Sun, rain, or cold.

Once you know how to move you can find everything. Silver stalls, leather, household items, souvenirs, antiques, whatever you want, carpets, clothes, glasses, details .......

Bars, tapas, and many people.
If you visit Madrid visit the trail. From the Ambassadors metro or the Latina and you walk following people. You go up to Cascorro and La Latina or Plaza Mayor. Many options.
And don't forget to stop at the bars. Fuller Best.

Music in the street. It is a place full of color.

A very large, very diverse market. You can find almost everything here from socks and underwear to kitchen products, to handmade decor.

There is inevitably a lot of tat here as well, but between these you find some interesting stalls as well. It's worth a wander on a lazy Sunday morning and then heading for a little Tapas and Vermouth after.

Very busy market selling a variety of wares.Although there are many many stalls a lot of them sell the same thing so every few feet there is repetition. Good place to buy cushion covers and gifts for friends.

I was the first time to Rastro in 2011. At the time, it was really a fair of antiques and decorative items, I even bought some items. Today it has become a mediocre open-market market for made-in-China products and used clothing. A shame. You totally lost the original essence.

A market in Latina in Madrid where you can find a wide offer of everything. Every Sunday from early morning.

Great as always, but I think that the City Council must allow the merchants to return to the streets, but with order in attention to Covid 19.!

Very nice sunday market that starts at the Plaza de Cascorro if you arrive from the center of Madrid and runs for 1km long and also stretches into the streets on the right.
The market is mostly selling second hand clothing and other stuff, also some nice brocante. We arrived in the morning so it was less crowded.

Overall verdict: If you are in Madrid on a Sunday, you should spend your whole morning and afternoon here!

Price: Free admission. The things on sale vary in price but if you look close enough, some of these items are extremely worth it!

Crowd: Feels like most of Madrid is here for this event! It can get quite packed at times so make sure you look out for your own belongings.

You have to visit El Rastro to know the traditional fairs of Madrid. It is a place where you can find very good articles of all kinds: clothes, antiques, decoration ... Nearby there are bars and traditional gastronomy sites. A cool environment to visit, whether you are passing through Madrid, or if you live there.

Site forced to visit for tourists and much appreciated by Madrid. I love strolling through the streets on Sunday mornings, touring their stalls, where you can buy absolutely everything you can imagine. Great for the mid-morning breakfast or the noon cover, its bars are always full. As there are usually so many people, you have to be a little careful with your bags, better not to carry backpacks, because there are always many people and the thieves take advantage of the crowds.

The morning walk on Sundays not to be missed. Traditional and modern in equal parts, because it has evolved just and necessary to not lose its usual flavor including new trends. Ribera de Curtidores is the main artery, but you have to get lost in the streets that cross and reach Tirso de Molina and go down to the Rounds. Respect the norm of circulation on foot not written, that we know well from Madrid, is important: it goes up and down on the right, so that the movement is fluid. It is essential to go by public transport, Puerta de Toledo stop is the closest, or by bus with the circular, the 17 ... or any that circulates through the Rounds. The area is full of places to eat something to make the most of the morning. It is a must and unforgettable visit for the one who comes for the first time. I recommend yes or yes.
