First World Hotel at Genting Resort World Reviews

Absolutely horrific. We were misled on numerous counts by the website, the counters, and the reception services. Upon booking, we were told that there would be larger rooms, and we assumed that there would be free Internet (I mean, what hotel doesn't in the 21st century?) When we arrived, I could already tell something was very wrong. The lobby was overcrowded, and their "self check in" counters were extremely difficult to use. We took over 2 hours just to check in on this "helpful" machine. Of course, we would have preferred to approach reception, but they charge you for a very simple service and waiting in the lines takes much longer than messing with the machines yourself. Even worse, the lobby is close to the casino and is practically a free smoking zone, so the kids were complaining and it was extremely uncomfortable to wait in. When you (somehow) are able to check in, you receive a rewards card - however, we were told by reception may only collect points once you go gambling. Not sure if this is true or not. Further, you're supposed to be able to cash in your points after your stay - we were told we would get this "later, later." Later never came. Essentially, you waste your purchasing money. However, that isn't even the worst part. Most of the floors are smoking, and there is even the smell of smoke in the elevators. Even on non-smoking floors, the signs are useless. When you enter your room, there is barely enough room for two people to walk in. You have to walk in single file and struggle to push your suitcases in. There is absolutely no place for your luggage. If you want to get around, you literally have to close your suitcase just to get across the space. The bathroom is even worse (I don't know how.) There is no door separating the bathroom from the room, and you have absolutely no privacy. If you open the shower door, you hit the person standing at the sink. When you try and shower, you have no room to even raise your elbows. There is mold in every crevice, and you are given body wash to use as shampoo and conditioner. When we called reception to ask for more tissues and toothpaste, they replied and sassed my mother. We were mocked, and told that we weren't staying at a 5-star hotel and we would have to get used to what we had. Back to the Internet. The worst part. If you are staying in Towers 1 or 2, you have absolutely no access to Internet whatsoever. However, Tower 3 is able to somehow receive connection. This means that there is connection; if you wish to get connected, you must purchase Internet at an unreasonable price and you may only use it in the smoke-filled lobby. Who wants to stay in this revolting dungeon for more than 1 minute? When you are in your room, you are given a view - a view of the sewer pipes of the building next to you. The information services counter is also unhelpful. We asked if it would be possible to switch buildings and about the details of the rewards card, and we were told there were no available rooms - the woman at the counter didn't even check the system, they just wanted to get rid of us. We waited in the murderous line, and we were told there were possibilities of switching - clearly contradictory information amongst employees. The pictures are severely misleading - there is no room, view, or extraordinary service anywhere. Read the details carefully. Make sure you can get connected if you choose to stay here (which you should not). First World sacrifices its legitimacy, hygiene, and overall comfort of its guest in order to boast the title of "largest hotel" in the world.

toilet extremely small. carpet soaked. room smelly. light dimmed. water dispenser dirty. water smell bad. toilet bowl dirty. bathroom .water overflowed. non smoking floor yet full of cigratte smell.

Ask for a superior deluxe room but was only given a deluxe room, not spacious carpet very untidy

Rooms are cheap and essentially a crash pad. Do not expect any service, in-room goodies or a view from the room. Just sleep. Otherwise, it is very conveniently located to the casinos, shopping area, restaurants etc.

Big. Other than the 1st level of the mall is filled with strong exhaust smell from buses the rest is ok. Renovated mall is huge and nice. More to be expected as the mall renovation is not completed

Service were meh... But the system were good. Room too small, price are insane

This is the most hotel rooms in the world. But also most lousy reception in the world.
Book 1 room 2 night 15-17 dec 19, 3 months ago. Found that the room is small ,no enough for my family with small kid. So decide book another room 1 night only on 15 dec 19 and stay on 16 dec 19.
Inform the reception counter on 15 dec 19 6pm tmr 16 dec 19 the room i booked can reserve for me on same level and close to my first room, will come to collect the room key on 16 dec 6pm. They said cannot, ask me tmr check in and try my luck. End up my luck don't have, only manage get the room on different floor..:(
So, i stay with my family on different level. Suck hotel receptionist in the world.

The manual check-in process was horribly slow. The rooms and bathrooms were really clean and comfortable. Breakfast at Food Factory was also good.

Long time had not been here, got another new Tower i.e. Tower 3, clean & better comfort than the old towers

Not as good as my last stay in Tower 3 with WiFi. The stay at Tower 2 at 25 floor with out WiFi and USB outlet for charging hand phone and with MR 5 extra for selection. A bit disappointed.

Great place for adults and children during long school holidays.

The hotel is simple and bare. Other then the casino, most of the other places are closed for renovation.

Now that the whole renovation is almost done, you can feel more family entertainment place. Makan cafe a plenty too , sadly the casinos is so grand but too much smoking in the areas. They should have a non - smoking floor

Self service check in is very friendly, however the bad thing is management is allowed guest smoking outside the room. Understand that this is smoking floor. But it should only smoke inside the room not outside. It is very dangerous, because can see the people just throw the cigarette bud on the carpet.

Old facility, unfriendly and not helpful staff, crowded but unable to manage systematically. Worst 3star hotel I've stayed so far

Good Hotel. Only thing it's hard to get a good night rest in certain rooms. The noise level from exhaust ventilator are jus too loud and annoying

Room's carpet too dirty, blanket smelled bad, no central air, no wifi, room too small.

The room is small,but clean. Room key alwiz got problem cant access in to the room due to the card put with hp or power bank??? Few time happen,feel annoying.

Room was spacious, well maintained for an old hotel. Avoid peak seasons.

I found out that I lost my Samsung phone Note ok 4 Dec , then I staright away report to the reception at first world , but unfortunately the
NOT take any serious !!! Just acting to call the room services department ... then said no have anything found !

I ve been reported Twice (2) tea regarding the above issue . But unfortunately until I checked on 10th Dec still no hv any reply ..

I feel the hotel is very unsafe

very crowded hotel, with low price offered for rooms. indoor and outdoor theme parks are closed for renovation maybe until end 2018. when visiting you must try the (awana) cable car for it stunning mountain views. food prices are acceptable ranging from RM20 ~ 30 per portion at Malaysian food street.

The hotel looks very very wow from outside.

The service is zero at the hotel, we had to carry our own baggage from the check-in spot to the Rooms on our own.

There was no room service. It looks like a world's largest hotel which they claim but I would say world's largest hostel.

The room was as small as matchbox with very tiny washroom & bathroom. Where in only a person standing can bath without stretching their hands also as you might get hurt.

Outside the room the hotel is really good. Room was a big big disappointment.

Y5 triple room is comfortable for a family with a child

You're now able to choose specific types of room (mountain view, non-smoking, near elevators) for a small sum of RM5 per request

Tower 3 rooms are more modern and bigger in space .

Ok. Room is a bit small and dark. Heard children crying during midnight.

There is a very friendly Indian receptionist girl called KOGY, helped us sincerely to get the mountain view room which is not available at my arrival time and it is during December holidays period. And she fulfilled our request with smiles. Then here is what we get.

Rooms are quite basic, but good enough for short trips

The rooms are kept clean.The service counter was polite n patient.

Great room conditions, shopping, plenty choices of food, well trained & polite staffs, beautiful Christmas light-up and a lot of activities for holiday season.

Stayed in the Y5 deluxe room. Wifi connection is decent. Room is very basic and does not provide much. Bring your own sanitary kit

Small room but overall experience is positive. Many self service kiosk to increase the speed of check in and check out.

tower 3 was nice...it got good wifi speed, separate shower, basin and toilet. it can accomodate 3 - 1 queen + 1 single. mini bar, hair dryer, cup, kettle and safe box available. so far, i yet to have any complain about the new tower :)

All above and beyond. But the food up here are not to expensive.. almost the same

No wifi except for in the lobby but you have to subscribe. Deluxe room is small. Have surau but solat Jumaat is at Balai Polis. Nothing much to do here since Fox Theme Park has yet to open. But they do have the new Awana Skyway opened.
