Twice the BMW dealership has identified engine com...

Twice the BMW dealership has identified engine component issues that should be resolved. Both have been denied by the company even though I purchased the extra coverage in the extended warranty in 2013 for a 2008 vehicle. They said the Vanos system which manages oil flow was not a component related to the oil in the engine. How anyone could come to such a ridiculous conclusion is beyond me, so I paid to have it repaired myself. Now, with a leak in the oil line to the turbocharger, they have said the leak, "isn't bad enough.", most likely because they know the turbocharger has to be removed to replace the line which is an expensive proposition. Their inspectors and adjusters have obviously been trained in how to try to avoid paying claims. That tells me their priority is avoiding costs, not helping customers. I will never do business with this company again and sincerely recommend anyone looking for an extended warranty find another option. I have had several such warranties with different companies and First Canadian is by far the worst I have ever seen.

I've dealt with First Canadian Insurance for several months on a couple of disability claims. My claim manager was an amazing lady named Terri.
In a terrible time in my life due to illness, Terri was understanding and had compassion.
Its the first time I've experienced a company representative (Terri ) just asking to see how your feeling and actually meant it.
Everyone has choices on where they get insurance, but I would recommend First Canadian to everyone.

Probably the worst and rudest customer service tha...

Probably the worst and rudest customer service that I have experienced in my multiple decades of existence. I made the mistake of purchasing a life and accident policy from First Canadian as part of my vehicle lease. I sold my leased vehicle before the end of my lease and was told by my car dealership to call and cancel my life insurance and that I would get a refund. I called First Canadian and spoke to a "customer rep" and explained the situation and, immediately, she told me that I would get no refund because I did not qualify due to "depreciation" in the policy. I was shocked and I asked how that could be since I had months left on the policy; she then spoke a string of convoluted terminology to me that made no sense and was all jargon and then made the condescending remark to me that I had "read and agreed to the policy" and that the policy "contained the formula" which would clearly show that I would not get a refund. I have a university degree which included English and Science so I can certainly read and do math so I verified which section of the policy she was talking about (all the while she talked over me repeatedly and repeated her condescending attitude with me) and I then looked at the "formula"; it was really not a proper formula at all but rather a general format of a calculation that could be used to produce any result one liked. I tried to make this point to her and I asked her to please stop talking over me and then she claimed I was being rude and abusive to her because I asked her to not talk over me and she hung up on me. I lodged a complaint with her supposed manager via a voicemail but I have heard nothing back. Very shady and disrespectful way to treat customers. 100% rude and poorly trained customer reps and contracts/agreements that seem to be purposefully convoluted so that anyone signing them cannot get clear information from them.

The representative I dealt with was extremely helpful and prompt at returning emails, which made it very easy to communicate back and forth! She answered all of my questions and never left me wondering what was going on! It was a very stressful time for me, dealing with my stolen vehicle, so I was very relieved that I didn't have to add any extra stress dealing with insurance! I'm very glad I purchased GAP insurance, it definately took away any financial stress that it would have caused, had I not added this type of insurance to my vehicle!!

So glad to have spoke to Danny today. I've been working with a few different dealerships and have interacted with FIRST CANADIAN for just over 2 years now, and today was by far the BEST experience ever !! Danny took his time to explain everything in detail. Even when I had more questions he patiently explained everything again to me, and when you give him a call and it goes to vm for any questions or concerns the call back is within minutes. Such great customer service, I'm glad he's working there, makes my job easier for claims. SPECTACULAR CUSTOMER SERVICE !!! and again thanks Danny for making my job easy this morning.

Due to my financial institution dropping the ball ...

Due to my financial institution dropping the ball and causing a payment to fall through, I set out to fix the issue in person. Within minutes of stepping through the doors I was in a room with an administrator and the issue was resolved with less fuss than it takes to order a coffee, which was offered to me upon my arrival by the receptionists. While I hopefully will not have another problem emerge that would require returning, I feel much more at ease knowing that should such a situation occur, I will be treated exceptionally well and the issue dealt with painlessly.

I have had the most wonderful experience with Firs...

I have had the most wonderful experience with First Canadian Insurance!!
When I had my injury at work I was not sure what was next and where my life was going. It was brought to my attention that when I purchased my vehicle that I had also purchased disability and life insurance with it.
So I made the call, and so glad I made the call
The first person I spoke too was friendly, compassionate and sent me forms and was encouraging!!!
I filled out the forms, sent them back and within a week or so I had a call from a wonderful young lady Emily who has worked on my claim since !!
Not once have I felt that they didn t care or weren t there to assist me while I work on getting back to work !!
This has been the greatest experience I have had with an insurance company and many others could learn from First Canadian
When people are hurt, injured or whatever the need to get back on their feet it s good to know that they care!! Thank you again Emily and FCI

I was so impressed with First Canadian Insurance!!...

I was so impressed with First Canadian Insurance!! I initially thought that we ONLY had disability insurance on our Trailer loan. When we submitted the one claim, First Canadian Insurance took the initiative and investigated our policies. The result was that we had a policy with our Truck loan as well. First Canadian Insurance paid both loan payments with no hassle!! It was a great surprise!

The letter that First Canadian Insurance had sent to us was very caring and thoughtful!

Darcy Gamelin was very pleasant to talk to as well.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU for all that you've done for Ron and I in the past few years. When we bought our vehicle from Country Hills Toyota in 2013 we opted to have insurance. Within a week of that purchase Ron had an emergency triple by-pass operation and First Canadian stepped right up and covered us. When we bought our second vehicle from Toyota in 2015 we had no doubts about having First Canadian insurance added on. The following year Ron was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Your company has been there for us since then and right up until Ron's passing this past February.

There are not enough words to express how thankful we are for the coverage we received on these vehicles. Your staff was ALWAYS pleasant and easy to talk to and so understanding. That's HUGE for someone going through cancer and unemployment like we were.

I am not a big lover of insurance companies mainly for the fact that they seem to have no problem collecting premiums but when the time arrives that the client actually needs coverage the insurance companies seem to create all sorts of loopholes and obstacles not to cover those clients.

First Canadian did not ever do that! When we needed you, you were ABSOLUTELY there with us through the whole process.

Insurance is calculated by rule of 78. Meaning no fair(pro rated) refunds. Do not buy your insurance from these guys. Take your business elsewhere.

For example in my case 1.2 years later, a $1300 4 year life premium is only a $300 refund.

Very customer service oriented. Their Agents are helpful, prompt and clear with instructions. I have my tire an rim warranty through First Canadian and have had to use them a few times already. The service has always been up to par and the last time the Agent I was dealing with really went above and beyond for me in a very stressful situation - she made sure I was taken care of and that made all the difference.

This company was absolutely atrocious to deal with. The woman who I talked to in the phone was rude and unhelpful. Also, their communication was very unclear and they seemed to make company policies up that did not exist in my contract to try to keep money that they overcharged me, when I went to cancel my insurance. I would recommend to anyone to NOT deal with them if you have a choice.

I've personally been dealing with Cassie who has been a great help and who is very pleasant to work with, always on point. Buyer beware. These guys are not paying out for legitimate repairs and are constantly trying to find 'creative' ways to either reduce their paying commitment to proper repairs. On top of that, worst customer service towards the service advisor and the client as well. If you are convinced or cannot purchase any other auto insurance, my best suggestion is to thoroughly review over their policy with care and look much further than their brochure. Contact the company directly and get a hardcopy of the items they actually cover. Then proceed to speak with a service manager to review and clarify ALL of the items on there to ensure you have maximum coverage.

I have had a great experience with First Canadian Protection Plan. I purchased a used hybrid truck and with worries about any of the hybrid components going I wanted the added assurance to know if anything went wrong for the first few years I would have a protection plan in place. Plus with the added bonus if I didn't use it I would get a portion of my costs that I paid for the protection plan back at the end of the term. So seemed like a win win in my books.

I was very lucky that I have made it 5 years with out any major breaks or issues. So I never needed to use my protection plan. I contacted First Canadian after my term was up and they were so great to deal with and it was so easy to file for my experienced based rebate.

I highly recommend dealing with them and when ever I get my next vehicle I will be working with them again!

Mireille Robicheau has amazing customer service skills. She assisted me on a day to day basis providing me guidelines through the process of my claim. Unwavering kindness throughout this time which I found to be almost embarrassing because I kept asking so many questions. Her professionalism and kindness did not change in the least. She answered every question and reassured me. I was injured in this accident and she would even listen to me as i complained about my personal circumstances. I actually found a friend in her and can not thank her enough for making this very difficult situation bearable.

Wasting peoples time by only answering one question when multiples where asked. Looked for any reason they possibly could to deny claim. Did very little to help a person out when Our family was already going through a really rough time. This is pathetic and i would not recommend dealing with them and would give them a negative star rating if possible.

They don't cover the diagnostic time to find out what failed, they will only pay for the lowest quality part possible, the don't cover misc clips etc... This warranty is definitely a huge waste of money. Very disappointed in this company.

These people don not cover anything under their warranty programs for vehicles. Please think twice about purchasing extended coverage. There is no extended coverage, they only cover electrical. Buyers beware!!! Do not trust this company what soever. Look for a different company as what they offer is basically a scam. Just keep the warranty offered under your dealership.

It has been a tough time trying to gather the never ending paper work for all of the insurances when it comes to submitting a claim, but I cannot express enough how my Disability Claims gal at First Canadian has been nothing short of amazing! She has been extremely helpful, supportive and even encouraging during my road to recovery following my surgery!! There has been no surprises, no hoops to jump through, and no delays. I wish all of my insurance dealings were as amazing as First Canadian!!! 100% satisfied!

We have been dealing with this company for the past year and the experience has not been a good one. We have a disability claim with them. It was not explained to us when we purchased the insurance that we would have to pay the loan payments up front before we get payment. The reason people take disability is so that they do not have to worry about payments is something happens. The worse part is trying to get money from them for the payment I have already made. There is absolutely no consistency. I have had to go almost 3 months to get a payment out of them. Make sure you check out your options before using this company as this policy was suppose to take worry away if you are hurt and all it has done is give me more stress.

I purchased vehicle coverage with Experience Based Refund Coverage (which can refund part of the premium if no claim) through dealer. at that time no one told me I have to submit request within 90 days. I thought for insurance usually can have at least one year to do it. Dealer just trying to sell as much as he can instead of letting me know what I need to pay attention to. I do respect the T&C but still quite sad about that. So if you are going to pruchase anything please read the T&C very carefully instead of trusting the one who tries to sell you products.

I would never recommend using this service you pay so much for, and get terrible services for the customer that they paid for. Good job guys!

I had to be off work for 8 weeks and from the first contact to the last I was treated exceptionally well. Very polite and professional. My claims examiner was one of the nicest people I have ever dealt with. They even wished me well in my recovery. The human factor is so important these days. Once again I would recommend this insurance company to anyone.

I have had to avail of the services of this institution again this year. Again from day one I have felt so relieved with my claims examiner. So polite and courteous. And with all the turmoil in the world right now my claim was taken care of in a timely matter considering the alternative working arrangements that some companies have had to put in place. I paid for the platinum warranty when I purchased ...

I paid for the platinum warranty when I purchased my vehicle based on them offering a 2500$ refund if the warranty was not used. I passed the KM's before the maximum time on the package elapsed and they would not refund the money until the total time had elapsed. Now I am 6 months before the time has come to an end and I bought a new truck. Because I didn't own the vehicle for the remainder of the period they offer now refund. I don't know how the warranty is to use because I paid out of pocket for repairs under 2500$ in the thought that I would get a refund from them for not using it. I would strongly recommend to read all fine print when using First Canadian Insurance Corp. because they definitely write the fine print in to be beneficial to them, and strictly adhere to it to ensure they don't pay anyone the refund. Just another scuzzy insurance company offering the world to get you to pay for their coverage and worrying about nothing but their bottom line after you've paid.

I had to change my Credit Card info with FCPP so I called and got a REAL person, Amanda. She was super helpful and even looked up my account number since I didn't have it handy. She emailed me the change form right a way, I filled it out scanned it and sent in back... Boom, like that it was all done. The process took all of 5 min.
I wish it was this easy to change CC info with other companies... Been on hold with Best Buys Geek Squad for 35 min!

Finding a repair facility willing to deal with these people is hard. 3 out of 4 facilities contacted refused to deal with this company outright. Repair facility that would expressly stated their dislike as they fight the smallest, simplest details and deny claims that should be covered. Complete pain to deal with. Will not purchase again from this company or others.

Well I am very dissatisfied with 1st Canadian Insurance and Lindsey Pelletier how she handled my claim as well as making false aligations.
She denied my claim due to false ROE that was proven incorrect as documents signed by my doctor stating that i was unemployable for the time being due to medical reasons and she said i was not employed prior to the doctors note which Miss Pelletier was totaly proven false. The funny thing is that both 1st Canadian insurance and the Government of Canada (EI) had the same documentation, yet the Government with their investigation granted me EI sickness benefits. I will be pursuing legal action as the Government decision set precedent .Deny Deny Deny is their policy!

DO NOT DEAL with this company, if you read all others reviews you will understand they will keep your money and pay you nothing. I have a disability insurance for my car loan, I had an accident six months ago submitted physicians statement that unable to perform duties, Claim adjuster at this company is one of the worse ever seen , making unnecessary delays sleeping over the file and needs to have a wake up call/ reminder to get a response. If you want to stay away from trouble, don't purchase products from this type of fraud companies , If you already purchase a product don't wast money to pay to the physician for filling up the forms you will loose that as well. I will recommend the reputed company like Manulife they are very quick and tension free.. If any agent approach you to purchase insurance such companies don't believe their words, read carefully that written on their condition this type of fraudulent companies will hide everything from you, For example I qualify for the insurance right away but while claiming they said I might worked 1 months prior to purchase the Insurance , but purchasing this insurance they don't required it , they only need your money. In my case all my paper works are good, I have a physician statement that I can't able to work. they rejected my claim not mentioned the reason for that , only copy and past some of the conditions that's not applicable for me . Also there is no guidance how i can dispute this !!!. IF YOU WANT TROUBLE FREE INSURANCE DON'T TRUST THIS COMPANY
