Biggest rip off companies I've experienced! Cancel this insurance if you purchased disability with new car loan.
They will never pay you a dime! You can safe few thousands from your loan if you cancel!
Shame on this company!!!!!

I would just like to say that my (claims examiner)...

I would just like to say that my (claims examiner) Terri Van Rooijen is a true professional. With Terri s help she was able to guide me through all the paperwork just to start my Disability Claim. Terri calls me quite often for updates on my progress and wishes me a speedy recovery every time.

Have worked with this company for many years. They have great products that they offer. I have never had poor service from any of the customer service reps. As with any contract take the time to understand it and make sure it suites your needs.

A insurance company that scams you out of your extended automotive warranty when you never make a claim. The only way you can get a refund if if you purchase a higher tier of coverage that allows you to get a refund if you never make a claim. So you have to pay more money just to make sure you can get a refund on something you never used. So they get free money without having to do anything
Even if they gave me a portion if the money back I would understand. But to keep the whole thing afor doing nothing is scamming people. Did I have coverage yes, did I use it, no so that means they made money when they made free money. I di not reccomend them stay clean as they will take your money and make sure you can never get it back.

Life has thrown a couple of curve balls making it necessary to utilize the disability insurance policy I have with First Canadian. My contact has been with Cassie Mailhot-Biochoff. She helped to make a difficult situation so much easier. She was VERY prompt to respond to any questions. She explained things so well. With her taking care of my claim, I felt reassured and confident that I was in good hands. Thanks Cassie. I'm truly grateful.

Arianna Kent is the name of person who helped me from beginning. Seems to me that she starts her day sending e mails to clients and that reminded me what to do today for this process . She was very kind , excellent at details and great to deal with a person who is not perfect in English.

This company is wonderful to deal with. Their employees are all incredibly friendly and helpful. We submitted a claim far later than we should have (very much due to our own forgetfulness), and they still accepted it and helped us without any problems. Definitely awesome.

I had great service from First Canadian. They covered an expensive repair without any fuss and repair was authorized by First Canadian in a timely fashion. The repair cost that First Canadian covered was higher then the purchase price of the plan. Very glad I purchased the protection plan!

While applying for my sick benefit for my truck, I found the service I had received to be very good indeed. Especially the help I received from Sabrina Henderson. She was very understanding and helpful and helpful throughout the entire process. Any delays I had were the result of my lack of info. Even so, all was taken care of in a very timely manner and I was very satisfied with the service I had received from Sabrina.

Much to my delight, I had my claim for Critical Illness insurance approved after a recent heart attack. The insurance had only been in place for a little over a month. I had several pre-existing conditions that I was concerned would negatively affect my claim. However, the company approved my claim after considering the facts provided. They also accepted some time delays in receiving the information requested from the various physicians involved. Very grateful for a fair adjudication.

I have had workplace benefits through several different providers and this is definitely the least user friendly company I have EVER used. I am constantly having to resubmit claims because they can't read eligible receipts. So frustrating.

TO ANYONE who is thinking getting an Auto Warranty...

TO ANYONE who is thinking getting an Auto Warranty from this company (FIRST CANADIAN AUTO PROTECTION INSURANCE) PLEASE DO NOT. I have a auto warranty with this company because it was sold to me by (SOUTHTOWN CHRYSLER), (BIG MISTAKE PURCHASE IN IT). Now the 1st time i deal with them i felt they was dishonest and evasive about the claim.
They will suggest you call a phone number after reading your review, however it would be the same dishonest practice.
PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME with this AUTO PROTECTION INSURANCE, find another, and hope for the best because FIRST CANADIAN IS A RIPOFF.

I'm happy to share my story to anyone who is interested.

My husband was in a serious motorcycle accident recently and will be out of commission for quite sometime. Dealing with Raquel from First Canadian Financial for our disability insurance was great, considering I want in the best frame of mind for this. There was quite a bit of paperwork to chase down and submit initially but I understand how important it is for the company to confirm facts in order to determine eligibility. Raquel was very professional and responsive to my emails and requests. We were approved and we can breath a sigh of relief, at least with respect to this particular payment. I highly recommend this company if you re looking for life or disability insurance. It is a also a bonus that this is a Canadian Company.

My experience with First Canadian Insurance Corporation claims was outstanding! Arianna worked at getting as much money back on my claim as possible. She was very pleasant to work with and diligent at returning any correspondence that we had with each other. By far the best experience I ve had dealing with insurance. Everyone that I was in contact with went above and beyond my requests and answered every question I had in great detail. They took the time to explain things to me and made sure I understood. Even sent occasional emails to make sure everything was still good. This has bin the one bright spot I ve had during a unfortunate event.

Not happy at all with any insurance company! This one is just the same if not worse than the others. They all want our money, but they always seem to have some little niche to get out of paying if we have a claim. Our government does nothing to regulate there huge rip off policies. I wish there was an honest company that was not out there just to line there pockets with our hard earned money. Trust me this company is not any of that...

beware the fine print you are not getting what you...

beware the fine print you are not getting what you pay for from first Canadian. I expressed my deep concern for the decision of not to cover a Oil filter housing gasket leak under a power train that clearly shows in the brochure that it covers gaskets. First Canadian could care less, please listen to this stranger and DO NOT buy this warranty.

In addition it is not just me Dealerships will sell this warranty but when you talk to the service areas they have express all the troubles they have putting through claims for the work and First Canadian extremely difficult to deal with. I spoke to three different dealerships and they all had a few stories just off the top of their heads.

A response from the owner will come soon and I guarantee that they will use some nice words, but will NOT RECTIFY this situation, just for show because it shows up on this rating. I really hope people start paying better attention to these ratings. Notice how all the ratings are organized from highest rating to lowest always in favor of the company not the experience where it should be. Fool my once.... right.

I've been dealing with First Canadian for 20+ years and have always experienced great customer service. Recently, their claims adjustment team came through for me on a difficult situation, without hesitation and with the utmost concern for the client. Their response was extremely quick, and they managed to approve the claim and associated expense within hours of the claim being made. If actions speak louder than words, these folks are always screaming from a mountain top. Great job!

We purchased the MAP Insurance with our last vehicle and it was the best thing that we ever did.
Dealing with Lauren was excellent. She answered every question we had..and kept on constant contact with us through e mails.
Very quick processing as well.
VERY HAPPY...and have recommended our family and friends to make sure they purchase the extra insurance.
Definatly saved us THOUSANDS of dollars.

First Canadian was accommodating to help me cancel the insurance and send me a refund. Everyone on the cancellation team was quick to respond to my queries and helped me along the way. Thank you!

I bought disability coverage through my dealership...

I bought disability coverage through my dealership for my new truck. A few months afterwards I was diagnosed with cancer and needed to use the coverage while I recovered. Right from the beginning McKenzie was helpful and understanding, willing to explain the steps I needed to complete in order to use my coverage. There was definitely a lot of paperwork and I highly recommend getting the needed clarification but as soon as I submitted everything I needed the remaining process was simple.

I have been off work for almost a year and the updates they have needed are simple when you ask your doctor to fill them out. I highly recommend them and I will buy this coverage again in the future and would like to give a special thanks to McKenzie for her hard work and understanding.

what a rip off,been trying to get my policy cancelled for past 2 months all the time differet answers to get it even cancelled.anyone planning to get any policies with these guys think twice,total scam.never used it for single claim when policy was issued they said i will get 2000 dollars back out of 2600 paid,now they are saying only 730 will be paid because it is prorated what a scam.

After evasive, confusing and demoralizing answers from the new car dealer who sold me my car, about protection for payments/depreciation, I agreed to purchase my new car, anyway. I negotiated the protection costs they quoted and was content with the results.
The day that I picked up my car the dealer was evasive about paperwork for my plan, saying that I would "receive something from head office" in the mail...but after a week or two nothing came. When I finally did receive a letter, it was from the dealership - just some kind of paperwork with areas highlighted for intials and signatures..no explanation or reasons. I got nervous and called First Canadian directly, and they indicated they had received NOTHING from the dealership.

Thank God for dealing with Ashlee Sproule and First Canadian! It was a happy experience.
I felt ripped off by the dealer but couldn't pinpoint why... in the end it seems that the warranty they "sold" me was never registered with First Canadian.

Results are not in yet but my confidence in her and First Canadian is very high! I bet these guys are so good to deal with!

Lifetime customer here - especially with employees like Ashlee on board!

I'm taking the time how to share my experience with Jennifer Robinson.
I will be very honest with you absolutely amazing assured me everything be taken care of explain to me how the process works. And followed up as you promised on every aspect of my claim. I am very glad that I got a chance to be treated with such respect quality of assurance that my claim was handled by a professional and that professional working for professional company.
The best money I have spent on disability insurance only realize that once I needed it and I needed my car payments be taken care of while I was off sick. The process was quick efficient and the best part of all the forms were sent to me in a quick response manner in order for me to be able to fill them out resend them and get my claim process. Please keep up the good work and thank you for being there when I was disabled.

I completely regret purchasing this extended warranty: "First Canadian Protection Plans". The sales person left out critical details (yes, I should have read the SIX pages of teeny tiny fine print). The main reasons I was disappointed with the plan: 1) It doesn't cover original (OEM) parts (you must use generic parts); 2) The coverage is significantly less than the dealership's estimate, so you still pay a big chunk out of pocket; 3) the "Experienced Based Refund" (EBR) is less a deductible.

Sold the vehicle that still had 4 years owing on it.Paid for life insurance that was over 2000 dollars and received a whopping 211 dollars back.And they also took 50 dollars for admin fee?really?Highway robbery.Never again.
Also buyer beware if you sell your vehicle and pay out any loans on it.If you don't ask for your refund and send in a lien payout or that it is paid in full they will not contact you.So think of all the people out there that don't even know they can receive a refund on early payout.That is probably hundreds of thousands of people.So first Canadian is getting a nice kitty full.Mind you the refund is a joke,how they figure out their numbers is beyond me?Don't waste your money.

I was not sure if I should rate 2 or 3 stars. I have found the people on the phone are really quite pleasant and helpful but once you start to deal with some claims through your local dealer, things are not completely upfront. I had scheduled my car to be serviced on a Saturday and when they found an issue that might be covered by my extended warranty, they couldn't confirm until they got approval from First Canadian but they aren't open on weekends according to the dealer. Also, both times I have had to get a warranty issue looked after, the dealer said First Canadian would only cover 30 minutes of diagnostics but the dealer was billing 1 hour so I was on the hook for half of $140 plus the deductible. I'll give First Canadian the benefit of the doubt as the dealers I've dealt with have been less than satisfactory too.

I am also get suspicious when I see so many reviews from users where this is their only review.

BUYER BEWARE!!! This company is a complete fraud! Their after market warranties are a toilet for your money. Their warranties are absolute garbage compared to the factory warranties. Be prepared do deal in their dirty tactics when attempting to get covered warranty work completed on your vehicle. They will take recordings from receptionist at the dealership and use her wording to deny coverage. DO NOT GIVE THESE GANGSTERS YOUR MONEY!!!

My insurance person was Kathy .
I was pregnant when my husband passed away in Feb 2018 . I called to get the insurance we had on our vehicles sorted out . I was understandably under a lot of stress and my hormones where everywhere . I called multiple times , had to fill out muplitle paperwork and submit it , all of which was very stressful , but Kathy made it manageable . I was very upset and rude with Kathy , but she understood my situation and was always extremely friendly and apologeti that she needed certain information . Every time I called she always reassured me that she would help me figure it out , that she was there for me , she would walk me through it . Sounds odd, but the insurance lady always knew what to say and she did help me get everything figured out. She was always very straightforward and explained exactly what I needed to get and who I needed to sent it to . Thank you for listening and being very calm even though I was taking my anger out on you . I really can t thank you enough . You are the type of person we definitely need in this field . I had dealt with other insurance companies for different things and no one was as easy to work with as you . These kinds of processes can and are difficult but Kathy made it go as smoothly as possible .
