Honestly, so underrated. The loco and little Tokyo Roll are delicious and their beer selection is not lacking. I like sitting on the patio if out w my girl on a date or inside if w the fellas trying to catch a sporting event.

This place was the best birthday event I ever planned. I had a party of 12 people we had one of the biggest VIP sections in the place. The food was very tasty and our server Seth was awesome. He was very attentive and brought out my bottles exactly when I asked. I love live music and Mr. Malcom Ali Gave is a BOMB show. He serenaded all the birthday people and his singing was flawless. The Dj did her thing too. Wish I had pictures to post but all I have is lots of videos. Overall it will be a night to remember.

We loved the restaurant, mixes Japanese and Western food. Very large and rich dishes. We ordered: nachos sake, dumplings, udon, ultimate rice with bacon and California roll. We were 5 people and it cost us to finish all the food. The rice and the spectacular udon of flavor, we were very surprised by the mixture of rice with oriental duck in the American style with sunny side eggs and bacon. Highly recommended this restaurant. They have a great drink menu: beer, cocktails ... Great staff attention, you leave tips with pleasure. They have a very special terrace, especially at night.

GREAT bar food.... GREAT.
Always a decent amount of attractive people.
Directly across the street from Little Tokyo.

This place is totally eclectic and very classy. I have been here twice and both times had a low key relaxing evening. I have always felt transformed by the history and who else may have sat in the seat I'm sitting in.
Yes, pricey drinks, so wouldn't go here to get drunk. But if you want a taste of Los Angeles old time culture and a reminisce the past its a super cool place to visit. I actually felt that the empty table next to us may not have been empty after all. There's almost a spooky vibe here, that the old time movie or rock stars are still visiting.

Monty bar is super awesome. They've got that old school friendly dive bar feeling and great music by djs and live acts. It's fancy and clean but their prices aren't too much for when you really want to rock and roll.

While the ambience and location of Far Bar make the place, the food isn't all that great. I ordered the Mac and cheese balls, which lacked any flavor. The Japanese beer list is impressive, but overall this place is cool just to hang and grab a beer, but that's it.

Far Bar is one of the best bars I've been to in DTLA. Located in Little Tokyo, The drinks are good and well priced. The atmosphere is unassuming, nothing fancy. I love the vibe of the place. They have the main bar area, a large loft and an outdoor patio area on the side. There is another bar near the patio. The food is pretty good from my experience. The short rib tacos are the the best. The staff is very friendly and helpful. For DTLA, the parking is not too bad. I've been here with large groups and the bar staff is very accommodating.

Came early on a Friday evening. It's seat yourself so we sat down at a table. We waited about 5 minutes before someone came over and handed us 1 menu for our table of 3, he came back a few minutes later and handed us another menu and my review stops here.

The server never took our drink order, or came back.

We sat for about 10 minutes waiting for anyone to come back. We waiting a few more minutes before we decided to leave.

Food looked good, so we wanted to stick it out but we decided to leave due to the lack of service from the start and we figured it wouldn't get much better

The process to make reservations was super easy , the staff was all very friendly and the overall environment was great! Only reason why I'm not giving it the full t is because we made dinner reservations and I don't think we had a menu while we were there, just drinks

The service was slow and each dish came out at different times for our party of 4. My sushi came out after everyone was done eating and there was a hair in it! On top of that we were charged 18% gratuity. Never again.

My go to happy hour spot with $3 Sapporo and $5 wings. Tap list and whiskey selection extensive. Doubles as my local sports bar. Insider tip: there is a second bathroom out in the patio area. That's where you should be dining and drinking anyway, great patio ambiance.

The cocktails here are made with so much precision and attention to detail, not to mention the freshest of ingredients, including the beautiful flower that was placed with tweezers as a garnish to my cocktail, The Ambrosia. The only downside is that you pay for the quality as the drinks are each $10 or more and none of them are on the happy hour menu.

We came early on in the night, around 6pm, and there was only 1 bartender working for a crowd of about 20-30 folks. He was seemingly unfazed by the line that formed, and continued taking his time to carefully prepare the drinks. We walked by later in the night, around 9pm and saw that they had upped it to 3 bartenders, but due to the time it takes to craft the drinks, the line was still present, so be prepared to wait.

Decent drinks, but very slow and inattentive service.

More alarmingly, the staff added an extra $4 to the tip (always keep the customer copy of your receipt for this very reason). I'm disputing the transaction with my bank, and won't be going back.

highly recommend this company. He did a fabulous job cleaning out doggy stained carpets and the stairs. I didn t think anyone would be able to get them clean but he did it I will highly recommend you to my family and friends . Amazing timing and service!!

This was my go-to sushi bar every time I visited LA, today I visited for the last time and it was plainly the worst experience.

First I try to go with my puppy to the patio, but they asked me whether he was a service dog or not, I understand that pets are not allowed inside but the patio is an "outside" environment, and they said that a party was going on and they couldn't accommodate me outside... Minutes later the people from the party left and they didn't invite us in.

We decided to order to take out, and upon arriving to our hotel room we found the surprise that soya sauce was not included, what? Besides that, the quality of the food wasn't the same as before.

With all of the things that went wrong today, we decided not to visit this place again.

Nice neighborhood bar, has a couple of pool tables, beer is always cold and brinks are made generously for reasonable price.
For now I'll continue to go there but the word is out it may have been sold.

I didn't spend much time here but I liked what I got. Just as a precaution their Buffalo Trace old fashioned is premade, so is their Moscow Mule. It isn't the biggest deal but it's nice to know if you are heading there for their happy hour. The place has a nice backalley/speakeasy style feel to it.

Japanese-style restaurant where you can drink craft beer. The food has much room for improvement. There are more windy people working nearby than tourists. The table seats in the courtyard are nice.

Google maps takes you to the back of this building. Entrance is on East 1st street.

Super beautiful interior, lots of polished wood and black and white tiles. Feels eloquent. During the day, bright light hits the bar and lights up the space. Outside, a patio section opens at 2PM. There s a super narrow brick corridor you can use to enter the space and bypass the indoor bar.

Tons of excellent beers on tap. I loved #9, it was a sour beer with 10.5% alcohol, served in a snifer. Feel free to ask for tastes of beers if you are unsure of what to pick from their vast variety.

I didn t get any food when I came, but they have nice looking sushi rolls.

The waitress was super friendly and made us feel welcomed. Took our photo and helped us make memories!

There s a breathalyzer machine too! For 4 quarters, you take a straw and blow into a machine, and it ll come back with your blood alcohol level.

They have a great selection of beers. They have an awesome patio where you can have drinks and relax with friends. They have 2 bars, the first one is in the main restaurant and the second bar is hidden in the back. Once your night is done of drinking you can walk over to Mr. Ramen and have a delicious bowl of ramen soup.

I was lured here by the high reviews, do not be fooled as I was. I would give zero stars here if I could. I had two bites of my fried rice before feeling instantly sick. My boyfriend could only eat a couple bites of his undercooked beef sliders. This seems like a good place to get drunk, not a place to eat at all. Currently feeling super sick and so is my boyfriend. I WOULD recommend if you want food poisoning for thirty dollars.

DTLA-famous bar in little Tokyo. You'll know you're at the right spot if you see the "Far East" neon sign out front. The bouncer told me it's a remnant from the bar's former life as the Far East Cafe, opened in 1935 (love those unsolicited fun facts!). Drinks are decent and food is available late. Bartenders are always nice. Added date tip - go outside - the lights will dazzle and impress her.

Hollywood has changed big time since my wife and I used to run in the streets as kids in the early 1980's.

Tourists all over the sidewalks and I've not seen so many LAPD in one place at one time except when they came to beat us punk kids up in 1983 at the Dead Kennedys gig in Longshoreman's Hall (Wilmington).

This is the local spot we use for small events with the hospital residents. Few veggie options but the vegetarian tacos are amazing. The wasabi fries are also really good! For a cost they also provide refreshments and food for events. Hey have a huge upper level you can reserve for events. It s big enough for 40-50 people if you don t mind being a little squeezed together. Lots of fun times. Service is kind but also slow. Would recommend for events. Close to Japan town metro stop. Not much parking otherwise.

A hidden gem in the heart of Little Tokyo. Hidden in a small alley across from the Koysan Temple on 1st Street, this place serves up cold brews on a hot day or under the stars at night in their patio atmosphere. Ask for the Wasabi fries. You won't be disappointed.

Ambiance: Intimate. Hanging patio lights, communal tables, chill vibe.

Food: Delicious food, love Ming's Wings here

Prices: Decent for LA, good value starters

Service: Attentive staff, never had bad service, even on busy nights

Out door seating in front and in the alleyway. Great atmosphere. Great service and tasty drinks, but not a place for food. My burger buns weren t toasted, bun was falling apart all over the place. Not gluten free friendly menu at all. Tasty wasabi fries, good wings. Terrible mushroom burger. Shiitake mushrooms were still dehydrated Decent sushi. Veggie sushi was alright. Still paid for it and tipped my waitress. Didn t have the heart to make a fuss.

Doesn t feel like a Little Tokyo staple, just a normal bar with some Asian flare for food.

Go for the drinks and atmosphere. Stick to the appetizers. Get the wasabi fries, or anything with the wasabi dressing.

Unpretentious place with creative craft cocktails having a Japanese spin, with plenty of Japanese whiskies too and good selection of craft beers. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and flavorful, mostly oriental, food options.

The food was good, the ambiance was good. But none of these matter unless the service matches it. We waited for our waiter to even glance at us, (which I completely understand when the place is busy.
The problem is when We paid and the change came. We were about $11 short from what it was supposed to be. We brought it up to one of the staff members and she simply replied, oh you have to wait for him because I can t do anything about it. OK... so then she brought it up to him, and GET THIS...
he took out the $10-11 from his own pocket and said sorry like he was embarrassed and left.
That money should ve been from the register and not the waiters pocket. They have some dishonest people working there. Would not recommend going with credit cards either, who knows what else they are up to.

Button Mash is amazing! Great selection of arcade games and pinball machines. They're all kept in great condition! The food is also really great -- for the price, you can't get any better than this. I love a good barcade, but Button Mash sets the bar VERY high!

I eat in this lovely place quite a bit! This is my favorite restaurant to eat. I go to this spot routinely. The cooking is excellent, the workers are polite and the payment is reasonable. I enjoy meeting in this place for a rich supper.

Take FULL advantage of their happy hour. The vibe is much more chill and it isn't too packed. The bartenders tend to be a bit more laid back as well: my homie and I barely made it a little after 8 p.m. on a Wednesday night and our bartender was sweet enough to honor the happy hour discount.
