yayyyy I finally checked out Far Bar!!!

Hidden bar/restaurant with mouthwatering stuff on the menu. Located between two buildings in little tokyo. You gotta walk through the narrow alley that leads you to a small cozy restaurant that's connected to the bar next door. Night time is the best time to come and enjoy the pretty christmas lights dangling above. The heater kept me warm.

I ordered the J-Town Empress (crown royal, peach schnapps, pineapple juice, lime juice), which was sweet and yummy. The cocktail was good but it didnt impress me. My bf seemed pretty happy with his super dark bitter beer that the sweet waitress recommended.

food: sweet potato fries with wasabi sauce. I don't like wasabi, but this was tolerable. The fries were great :)

Short ribs tacos r pretty good for the price n size.
Customer service is a 3, seems that they don't have enough coverage or cooks. Waited 30 mins for sushi and then they said they had not even placed the order. My friend ordered wine n they took long to give it to him that when they finally did they didn't charge him for it.
The burger with onion rings looked amazing n the fries smell delicious.
The ambience is chill, pretty lights, outdoors.

A bar that's literally in an alley in Little Tokyo. Great Monday happy hour. Good fusion food. I like the wings the best. Lost of good beer there, great place for a few pints and snacks in a warm evening with friends.

The sign outside actually says Far East instead of Far Bar. Besides the cheap Sapporo during happy hour, there is nothing else really Asian influenced about this place. They do have great options for appetizers and lots of room in their bar. The patio seemed pretty cool as well. Servers were great!

Came by for a nightcap, and was blown away by the menu offerings. This has to be the most impressive selection of brown water I've ever seen. I'd say they offer at least 100 different forms of bourbon and scotch. The clientele was quite hipster-ish, but the place was so dark and sleek that it didn't even bother me. That being said, the prices were a few bucks too high per glass, in my opinion.

A chill place to grab drinks, watch a game, have dinner, or get late night grub. The bartenders are cool and will throw you a free one here and there. The drinks are reasonably priced and the food portions are a good bang for your buck. If you want to chill outdoors, walk to the back and you'll be in a garden of lights.

The ambiance is amazing. You have to sit in the alley in order to fully experience this amazing place. The food is amazing we ordered the Mingus Wings, the ultimate bacon fried ricemail, the Korean short ribs, tempura California rolls,an the Far Burger. All of these dishes were amazing. I will definitely come back when I visit LA again.

Our waitresses from both nights were amazing and picked out the perfect wine pairings for what we ordered. We had some Sardinian wine as well as some traditional Italian favorites and were in love with how well they paired with the appetizers and entrees.

This is one of the better places to go for Asian fusion. I'd come back, if I had company.

We stumbled upon this place because Daikokuya had a wait and I had arrived to the airport starving from my 5+ hour flight from the East Coast.

The atmosphere is great in both the indoor and outdoor seating areas. The outdoor side has strings of Christmas lights and outdoor space heaters, while the inside area is cozy with a modern/industrial feel but probably has too many distracting flat-screen TV for my own preference.

The food is better than I expected (I grew up in LA but have lived on the East Coast for about a decade now) and helped me remember that California is the OG fusion food scene. I ordered the Italian Samurai burger which is served on a deliciously crispy brioche bun. The burgers are made to order (well done/medium/medium rare/etc.) and the standout part of the my burger was the tamarind aioli which added a complexity and interest to my dish. I got plain fries, which were ordinary but the place is known for their wasabi fries anyway.

Super chill vibe that borders on cozy; definitely worth putting on the short list for after work hangouts.
Has a full bar with superb selection of beer, some are Staples and some rotate out seasonally. Has some interesting original drinks as well.
The food is superb; think more gastropub and less greasy bar fares. The appetizers are great for lighter snacks (Ming's wings are a personal favorite of mine). If you're ready to commit to something heavier they've got a wide range main dishes from burgers and tacos to ramen and fried rice.
Pro tip: the bacon fried rice feeds two unless you're really hungry.

Secret spot down a hidden alley in Little Tokyo of DTLA. So surprised and excited when I first stumbled upon it They have an amazing craft beer list and some funky cocktails. The pink lemon drop is delicious but super sweet. The food is also delicious- try some wasabi fries for the table. They have just enough wasabi flavor but aren't overpowering. Its a great spot for a casual dinner or drink or a date night. Sit outside under the lights.

Far bar has a good selection of beers. They will occasionally have some hard to find beers. One time I had a Honey beer that was really good. I was told that they only made one batch of that particular beer. During Happy Hour they have discounts on beer and food. They offer a burger for $5 during HH. I have to say it is one great burger. They have different burgers but he meat is always well seasoned. Street parking can be hard to find.

Got takeout the other night - three entrees and an app for $60. Not bad. The Pad Kee Mow was good, but I do wish the noodles hadn't been chopped up so much. The garlic pepper beef was very yummy - served on lettuce, which was really nice. The prawns were huge, but the lemon butter sauce was strange. The curried chicken and cucumber cups were really really good. The serving needs more chicken to fill the cups, though. Kinda strange that they gave fortune cookies with the order, though.

if you're offering sushi, do it right. the rice and kelp were sticky and chewy on the Spicy Tuna roll I ordered. the Seafood Pasta has a nice flavor, but is overcooked and looks dull. the Deviled Duck Eggs are bomb but could've been better if made fresh to order. it's easy to tell the food is NOT cooked to order. not to mention: bad vibes from the service side of things. major disappointment.

Stop #2 on our...2 stop bar crawl. Don't judge me, I'm a grandma.

I couldn't find the drink I ordered on the menu, but ANYTHING with jalapeno calls out to me. Honestly, it was one of the better drinks I've had. I was surprised by the quality of it considering we are literally sitting on patio furniture in a brick alley (ambiance is pretty great though).

Our waitress was SUPER nice and funny. She requested that one of us leave a credit card because people have been dining and dashing lately. People are the worst!

I'd come back for their happy hour or a light dinner. Good selection of bar eats!

My friend suggested this spot and I was unsure because this spot is tiny BUT the drinks and service makes it worth it. We were a party of 3 so we sat at the bar and it was so much fun. The drinks are strong and worth your money. I got a mai tai and it was so yummy I bought a second. I highly recommend this spot! They also have munchies as a snack and that won me over!

Cozy little bar right by Golden Gate Park! It feels almost cluttered (in a good way) with homey decorations and interesting trinkets, and there's so much to look at right when you step in. This is very much a "sit around a table with friends and chat over beer" type of bar and it doesn't have a dance floor. Tons of bar and table seating (seating really makes up most of the bar space) with cool antique-looking furniture but it does get crowded very easily and you might struggle to snag a spot. We also saw some darts and other games near the back but unfortunately didn't have a chance to play.

Not a bad place to catch up with a friend which is what brought me to Basin 141. After one of my best friends and I took our two week vacations one after the other, it had been a month since we had seen each other and had lots to catch up on.

This place is hard to beat. You have to enter through a small unmarked alleyway. Once inside there is a canopy of lights over a outside patio with tables and surrounded by exposed brick. The food is good and the prices aren't terrible.

There is no happy hour on Saturdays, but there is for the rest of the week. It starts at 9pm for the night happy hour, but there is also a mid afternoon one as well.

Celebrated my Birthday here this past Saturday 3.16.19 and it was such a fun night... David was so easy to get in touched with and my reservation was ready for me when I arrived. The night went a little something like this: the singer sang happy birthday to me, we had confetti poppers, and a cake with sparkles. The DJ was the best I've heard in a while. Played all good dancing music. I literally danced all night. All my guest had a great time, I recommend getting bottle service to get your own private area. Specially if you are celebrating a special occasion, they truly make you feel special. You can also walk in to the bar area and order drinks.

Cool hipster feel to this place; a good change of scene from the typical korean soju bars that you get accustomed to in ktown. They have a full bar with low and high end alcohol selections and a variety of bottled beers (no tap though). The owners, who are brothers, were super friendly and easy to talk to. They allowed me to choose the music I wanted and even offered to plug my phone to dj lol.

They've reduced the alcohol and food menus, but still have a pretty good selection of whiskey for the area. Food is solid to good. Atmosphere is cool when it's not super crowded, dark and intimate.

Far Bar is tucked away in an alley with lots of old-timey lights. It's a great ambiance and it provides a unique and eclectic experience with a group of friends. The wasabi fries are recommended and there are plenty of cocktails and beers available.

I actually love this place, but our bartender last night was garbage. Patio bar was empty and the seats we wanted to sit in he wouldn't let us sit in because he was saving them for his friend. I mean wtf dude!? Then was just an all around jerk. Steer clear of the Japanese guy with the pony tail. Total douche!
