The Frolic Room is one of the oldest dive bars on Hollywood blvd. It is a dive bar so before you come please know this, it is a part of the charm. It is famously tiny and it is amazing. Located next to the Pantages theatre it is always a great place to meet interesting people and sometimes you'll even see some of the cast members from the shows next door. Just be chill if you see your favorite musical theatre star, be chill, put your phone away and just enjoy yourself, its too dark for selfies and it's olds kool Hollywood, no one wants to put up with that.

I'm not afraid to say it--The Little Shamrock is easily one of my favorite bars in the city. From the outside, it looks like just-another typical irish pub. If you give them a chance, though, you'll discover that it's actually so much more.

Awesome atmosphere and surprisingly good food. I went here for my birthday dinner. We got the fried rice, the crab/seafood noodle dish, and tacos. We got fried Oreos to finish it off. It was delicious. I would definitely come back for drinks as well sometime. It was busy too as it was a Saturday night but they sat us relatively quickly. Good service too :)

Fun, comfy neighborhood bar that had great drinks at reasonable happy hour prices and service was outstanding. Music wasn't obnoxiously loud so you could actually carry on a conversation!!! Will be frequenting this spot more often! Highly recommend!

Awesome bar hidden away in an alley of Little Tokyo in DTLA. They have asian fusion foods like wasabi fries and some different kinds of sushi rolls. They also have a great beer selection and a good list of house cocktails. The patio, covered in lights, is a great place to hang out and have a chill beer at night.

Finally, a club almost devoid of attitude. Seriously: not on the part of the staff, not on the part of the clubgoers. If you can imagine a club actually packed full of people who mostly just want to have a good time, this is actually it. Now, it doesn't exactly attract the nation's absolute best DJs, but they do a totally respectable job. Genius is overrated.

Excellent beer selection, choices of liquor are abundant, and the food is great. Also, the staff is knowledgeable, courteous, and attentive. There's a reason why I frequent this establishment. Actually, there are many reasons.

Come here on a Sunday and order from their happy hour menu (which is all day).

Just get the wasabi fries and the chicken wings (wings are $4, and you get a good amount of them). My god the chicken wings are so good. Get 2 orders of those and some hot sake (which is $7)

Poor service / slow kitchen. Ordered the Sake Flight and some wings. The sake was great but after waiting for 45 minutes I still had no wings. My friend's fries were great. The excuse offered was that they were busy but I saw no sign of that.

Stopped in since we were early for a reservation near by. I was really impressed with the selection of beers. we were short on time so we just got a couple glasses of the pinot noir on draft but are already planning on coming back to sample the brews

Food was good, but come for the beer selection. Their bottle and tap list is the best I've seen in the LA area. Go for the Washington "wax". I especially recommend the brew 3k or Rusty Nail from Fremont.

3.5 really! and although the food is good and they have a full bar (or two full bars!) and a patio -which I like- they only have one set of bathrooms, one men and one women! THAT is a problem in a large restaurant that serves beer! Other than that it's cool.

Dive bar heaven.

No mixology here, thank goodness.

Have fun!

Scott knows how to pick 'em. Great place to sit down with some friends and enjoy some excellent wine. Not too noisy, you can bring in your own snacks or food from nearby restaurants. Friendly, relaxed vibe.

I went to the famous last night for a birthday and the drinks/food was amazing!!! The atmosphere was great with good music. My friend had reserved a few tables that were comfortable. The services were attentive and helpful

Came here for lunch before starting my shift at another restaurant down the street.

I had the B.L.A.T. burger and fries. The burger was pretty good. I liked the idea of onion preserves as an analogous acidic element rather than the standard pickle. Accompanied with fries, as burgers tend to be.

The service was okay. After seating myself, as the sign in the restaurant states, I waited about 10 minutes(and it wasn't that busy honestly) before I was noticed by the staff and have my order taken. The ones at the open bar were too engaged in a conversation. So someone else who when free attended to me. I do like that they, unlike some other places, ask wether the tab remain open or not. It's an efficient procedure so you don't have to tentatively wait on anyone. I had told the staff that did attend me that I didn't want ketchup only for the other one that had been busy talking to provide me with ketchup I didn't ask for later. So this place is decent but it doesn't really incite a desire to return.

By far our favorite spot in Little Tokyo. They have a great happy hour with awesome Japanese Whiskey. Must haves include the wasabi fries, any of the tacos, and the bacon fried rice. Try to get a seat on the back patio for a fun outdoor experience and feel like you have your own secret spot.

Service was slow, there was a girl there visiting the host and she was non stop bashing Trump and it made myself and the people next to us very uncomfortable. Also very expensive. Brought my wife her food and mine 35-40 minutes later.

Great beer selection and I love the murals on the walls here. I always love these "hole-in-the-wall" bars; the dim lighting, incredible art, and even a fireplace all add to the chill ambiance that Natives Bar offers. The service was amazing and I'll definitely be back!

First time here so only tried Mango Banana Colada. Super good and I'm not into tiki drinks much! Definitely would come back. Chill atmosphere (at least for a rainy Sunday early evening). Nice screens for football fans - I'm not one but whatever to each his/her own. Highly recommended :)

Oh my .. the sushi at this place is beyond amazing. It is soo fresh. I am personally a spicy tuna lover and order most of my rolls with a tuna base. I must say I was very impressed at how fresh the tuna was.

Meze w lamb meatballs. Baklava w turkish coffee. Delightful. Clean. Friendly waiter enhanced the pleasant atmosphere w his eagerness to take our pics over and over again. No alcohol, but you can bring your own bottle of vino. Food is in small portions, however plenty, fresh, tasty. Reminded me of home. A place I have to revisit.

I went here years ago when it was McKenzie's and boy was it disgusting LOL. But luckily this place is completely remodeled. The interior is really nice and clean. All the bartenders are super friendly and easy to talk to. They have a good selection of beers and also have their own signature cocktails that change every few months. The shots and beers are reasonably priced and they also have happy hour from opening until 8pm. A great neighborhood bar all around!

Great mixologists and great atmosphere. There's a nice outside seating area that has its own bar so you don't even have to go inside to order your drinks. On some nights, there is live music too. The best drink I tried was the one with quinoa vodka and crispy kale. Sounds hipster and kind of over the top but it was so smooth, slightly sweet and delicious. Give all the drinks a chance.

Came for happy hour. Great drinks and food to munch on. Would come back here again. The outdoor searing area feels like a hole in the wall but is also cozy! Wasabi fries were interesting - not the biggest fan of wasabi but still enjoyed it.

Reservation was quick and easy. I had to switch it and front hostess was sweet and helpful. the food was nice, I enjoyed the fries. I got the steak and eggs, it hit the spot. The mimosas are always too much fun there. Love all the flavors.

The staff was sweet. I believe the niece of the owner was our waitress and she was so quick and helpful. Everyone help

It was nice that the owner sent an email to check up on us after the visit. I appreciate that. Thank you Teddy!

Always a spot I let my friends and family know about. I had maybe 2-3 birthdays of my own, and then I bring my friends and family for their birthday.

Stopped in with my friends. First it can be hard to find but when u find the right door it's really cool. Love the ambiance. Food was ok. I got a burger and was disappointed but i am also finding I don't like gourmet burgers. For some reason the love to char the outside and I do not like that. My friends got the fried rice and said it was quite good. 5 dollar Sapporo is nice.

Just went to The Oak and Vine for Happy Hour with a group of friends. We had a great experience! We sat in their cute upstairs lounge area. Our server was attentive and with it. I highly recommend the mushroom lavash pizza on the HH menu. Their HH Cabernet was oaky and yummy. There's metered street parking or a public parking structure nearby.

Happy hour!!! Wasabi fries is a must!! $3 for a side of wasabi fries! If you get the burger with wasabi fries its $7 but you don't get the wasabi dip. The beers are also cheap too! 3 bucks for saporro (my fav Japanese beer) and $4 for their craft beer! A good place to chill and have a drink. Its in a hidden corner alley!

No they do not have an ocean view. The service is amazing over the top. Each employee greeted us and shook our hand like we are movie stars. We ordered the surf n turf with fillet Mignon and shrimp. Small portions for sure and the food is just ok. Our drinks we had are very tasty coming from Seattle it's hard to compare fresh seafood to land lock areas the fillet was tiny but tasty

Great cocktails of all sorts! Somewhat dim inside and not too loud. They have a outdoor patio that fits maybe 15 at most. I got to try a number of cocktails and love the variety of flavor profiles. Inside seating, we were able to to fit 8-10 people.

This place is the one I like best. I go to a lot of restaurants but to this place I go the most. The team is very professional and the food they offer is so tasty. I never miss an opportunity to have a good dinner in this place. I recommend this place with pleasure.

A good happy hour place in Lil Tokyo--I love their patio that you access either through the restaurant or a very narrow little alley on the side. Actually, I've never hung out inside the place because I didn't think their interior was all that inviting--too dark and close for me. There's a good amount of seating outside, though, either at individual or communal tables. Decent food, good selection of craft beers, and friendly (if somewhat scattered at times) service. Always a good option for hanging out with friends.
