We had a two week road trip to B.C. and that hotel was by far the most expensive and the worst hotel we stayed at. Japer was our first stop. When we first arrived, there was a heat wave and we discovered that the room is not air conditioned as advertised. The room was outdated with no coffee, tea or fridge, and terrible beds. My husband and my son had an accident in the lake, and they were saved by other visitors, as it took the staff forever to come. However, we used the provided whistles for a few minutes, but the poor staff working at the boat house was overwhelmed with the amount of work given for only two people and it was very busy.
When we complained about everything, their response was very poor, the manager was very rude on the phone, they provided one cheap fan at the room and they apologized with some left over cheese and strawberries from the kitchen and a bottle of wine which we didn't use as we don't drink.
It was a terrible experience, will never go back. It isn't worth the 700 dollars we paid per night.
You can book anywhere around and still go there to enjoy the lake view.
I would give below zero if I could.

Really nice, but a lot of things are insanely over priced. Wanted to watch a movie on the in room TV, an it was $25 for a movie that's been out 8 years.

We spent a weekend at Fairmont Japser Park Lodge in June of 2018. The cabin we were in was rustic but very well maintained. Was surprised to find out this resort is without air conditioning but the evening cold breeze made this a non issue. This resort offer low density style accomodation with lots of green space and modern day facilities. Great service all round. It certainly deserved a five stars rating.

My husband and I were extremely disappointed during our stay at this Fairmont location.
Some of the reasons why;
- Zero help with baggage during check-in. Employees walked passed with no offer to help
- On arrival to our room after we packed in our own luggage, we check out our balcony, and there was a half smoked marijuana joint just sitting outside. To be honest we indulge every now and then, but seeing this when we check into a Fairmont was quite a pathetic site to first see. Would have been nice to at least know our room was looked over before check in.
- On multiple occasions concierge took up to 2 hours for us to get a call back, in one instance we ended up missing out on an event.
- Our fire alarm in the room went off one evening, I disconnected and re-connected and it stopped. Shortly after received a call that the front desk saw the fire alarm so they wanted to come double check. Sure, no problem at all. But what I couldn t believe was when your employee is standing in our room, asking if we just smoked? I think any person, especially in the hospitality industry can differentiate a room that has been smoked in, and a room that has not? But sure enough, we were asked multiple times AS THERE WERE INSIDE OUR ROOM. Which was personally offending at this point.
-
- Another very surprising and highly disappointing thing at this hotel - the food. We ordered room service multiple times and this was by far one of the most disappointing things offered. I felt as if the food was picked up from a gas station. A sandwich ordered came wrapped in cellophane with a label on it just like somebody would buy from a 7-11, and the quality was just as comparable. We have not seen this at any of the other Fairmont locations we stayed.
- Also in room 253, we could barely brew a cup of coffee without having the breaker trip 1-3x before the coffee could finish. Not fun when you are just trying to enjoy a morning coffee.
Honestly I could keep going on more points as to why we will never visit this location again, but I don t see much of a point.
We are currently in Banff at a hotel that is much lower rated than the Fairmont, and our stay has been excellent thus far. Pretty sad when we pay 1/3 of the price and get 100x better service and comfort. I regret our stay in jasper and expected much more from the Fairmont chain, as I said, this is the first stay at a Fairmont location that left us absolutely flabbergasted at the service and how everything was handled.
UPDATE: To top everything off, we are now dealing with a 500$ charge to our credit card, as we have been accused of smoking in our room which is absolutely insane. we have spoken with Alexander in PR at the Jasper fairmont and he was extremely rude, and the furthest thing from being a helping PR rep.
Still have not been contacted from our previous review, and still after 3 attemps to contact lost and found, still have not had a response back if they found what we are looking for.

I came to the lodge with friends to get a warm drink on a cool day. It s an amazing location with an old lodge with tons of character. The staff was friendly and open for visitors/customers of many kinds.
The lodge overlooks a beautiful lake and there are trails along the edge with plenty of opportunity for relaxation or photography. Wildlife lives right up to the doors of the building.
Come for a quick visit or a long stay...but come at least once.

The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is one of the best places I have ever been to, and I have traveled to a lot of places all over the world! This place is so beautiful, and it's so great that they are pet friendly! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the customer service was absolutely amazing! The Bartenders at the main lounge bar were amazing, especially Mathew (with his freshly made pickles) and the very polite gentleman with the thick black glasses! Thank you all so much for making our Christmas Holiday so special! We will definitely be back!
Cheers and Happy New Year's to you all!

Amassing place. You have to at least visit it if you can t afford to stay. Pretty affordable prices in restaurant and for hotel facilities for outsiders
I stopped by at around 1pm on pretty busy Saturday. Ordered food only for kids, as we already have lunch. When time came to pay for the order, waiter didn t take any money. I told him we just visiting and not staying at lodge. They have policy, all kids under 6 eat for free.

Staff are very attentive, without being there too much.
Food and beverages are as always, superb.
We have enjoyed work events, family events and romantic weekends there.
We would highly recommend this property to anyone.

JPL is not just staying at a hotel, it's a whole experience! Room 678 had a fantastic view of the lake with an outdoor patio (on the 2nd floor in the main building). The king bed that was very comfortable and blackout curtains ensured a great sleep. The room was perfect. Because there's no parking lot near the main building valet parking was complimentary. It was pretty awesome when we went to pick up the car and got offered warm cookies (and water)!
It's a slow time for the area (mid Jan) which was actually quite nice because it was extremely quiet and we had fantastic service with almost no waiting. The only downside was some of the restaurants were closed for the season but with only a two night stay there was more than enough to choose from. I was very impressed with the selection of food on the menu. Neil Harnett was the Entertainer in the lobby in the evenings and he was very good. It was very enjoyable to just sit in the lobby and relax. The pool is well maintained even throughout the winter and warm enough to be out in even in -15 Celsius. Being able to Snowshoe around the lake right off the property was a huge advantage as well. And apparently included in the resort fee of only $25 per day you can actually use their snow shoes, as well as skates and a whole bunch of other items. We also partook in the s'mores by the lake in the evening which was great as well. It was a bit brisk but it definitely added to the experience. Also enjoyed the shops on the lower level including Mountain galleries which had a large amount of very beautiful art. There is also fantastic artwork throughout the hotel as well. Would definitely stay here again largely in thanks to the fantastic staff. Experienced lots of wonderful people working to make the place the best it can be.

What a winter retreat!!! We came here in the beginning of December for a family holiday. Had a great time! Beautiful decorations for Christmas and the lodge was buzzing with happiness and good cheer :)
The bar area (Emerald Lounge) is very cozy and they offer delicious food and wine. There is a rec room with billiards and foosball to keep the kids occupied.
The outdoor pool was spectacular and has the most amazing view of the mountains.
Highly recommend getting ice skates and skating on Mildred Lake! There s a cozy cabin on the lake so you can warm up afterwards.
Had a wonderful stay and really appreciated the friendly staff!!

The spectacular views of the mountains and lake is everything on this property! We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay!
The check in process was super quick and we could park right outside our cabin. PPE kits were provided and temperature checks were done.
The walking trail is beautiful, especially enjoyable as it was not too busy. The lake was beautiful!
Rooms do need a upgrade for a fairmont standard.
The food in Emerald was good.
Boathouse: We decided to go again later for the peddle boat and we were charged $45 as guest could use that once a day complimentary I found that a bit strange as guests who paid over $600/ night! And that was the only day we got to go the boathouse
Perfect property to enjoy the relaxing time admits the mountains

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and couldn't be happier! Their staff took customer service above and beyond the call of duty. We were treated like royalty the entire stay. 10/10 would stay here again and I'd recommend staying here to anyone and everyone!

Do not stay here if you're looking for a beautiful room. When we first arrived I was really disappointed. The grounds and lodge are very dated (70s looking). To make matters worse we walked into our $670/night room and my mouth dropped in disbelief. The room was equivalent to a $75/night Best Western with no AC. I asked when they were going to remodel and they told me they had just finished their renovations recently. It didn't show. The redemption that earned 3 stars for my review was that the resort sits on a gorgeous lake and has great mountain views. I wish we had paid half what we did and I might have been happy. Food was not good and way overpriced ( I'm ok paying high dollar for GOOD food). I recommend staying at the Lake Patricia Bungalows instead. We checked them out and not only are they prettier, but they feel more secluded, have an equally beautiful lake, and cost half the price. Will not be returning again. Not worthy of the Fairmont flag.

Very cool lodge, very active and lively. Had a beer and spirit event when visiting for the while. There is a big main fireplace at the main hall. Below are shops and departments for buying your goodies to take home.
Quarters are outside but very stylish, warm, and cozy.

Jasper Park Lodge service has blown us away! It s been a few years since we have stayed here and arrived on Friday and from the moment we walked into the hotel we have been welcomed and treated well at every turn! The hotel has been very accommodating toward our dog and toddler!! We will definitely be coming back! Josh (bartender at lobby lounge) treated us like rockstars and made our first night at the hotel the best ever!

Went to a wedding the event should of had a coffee station instead of staff trying to hit every table. Contractual miss communication with the bar. Food was good despite that venue was spacious. Restaurant was pretty steep in price but if your staying at the Fairmont you probably don't have an issue.

Expensive but if you can afford its the best place to go for a nice and relaxing vacation. Lots of places to hike and jog, nice lake, nice view and lots of deers and elks running loose in the hotel areas. Jasper "city" is 5 minutes away so perfect for groceries and drinks for the hotel. They have cabins for most of the rooms, which is unusual but very fun.

Arrived around 4pm but our room was still 30 mins from being ready. Very annoying high-pitched sound in the room and no bathroom fan. Awfully inadequate brunch buffet: e.g. rock hard waffles, empty serving dishes. We got back to our room to change for dinner around 4pm and housekeeping still hadn't shown up to tend to the room.
Next day tried the a la carte brunch option instead but grew old waiting for our order - even the drinks: I mean, how long can it possibly take to make a coffee? Gorgeous setting but couldn't recommend staying here, especially at such high prices.

Always lovely and a staple of Jasper, as well as the rocky mountains in general. If you ever come to Jasper remember to visit this place, even if only for a drink on the terrace, the view is spectacular.

Pricier than some options but located in a beautiful area with tons of amenities on site. Luxury in the mountains. Gorgeous scenery and wildlife all around the lodge as well. It is no uncommon during the right season to have lots of Elk wandering right on the lodge grounds. Please follow the information given out about safety around Elk. They can be extremely dangerous. See the photo of the one racking a mans jeep as a tourist stands on the other side.
