Great massage. I haven't felt this relaxed in months.
Great massage. I haven't felt this relaxed in months.
Poorly managed. Spent more time trying to make appointments and showing up (based on their suggestion) when no one was available. Not relaxing. Not holistic. More stressful than anything. Not in the business of getting repeat business.
I used to want to keep this place all to myself, but it's already becoming a destination spot in Portland. It's an amazing spa and healing center. Explore it thoroughly with a massage and an hour o in the spa, you won't regret it.
Don't use the online scheduler. They say it is a request, but they'll charge you if you don't show up to the requested time whether you have gotten a confirmation or not.
Update: I got a callback saying that they would reverse the charge. That's it. Nothing for the inconvenience. Still incredibly unhappy with the situation.
Sooo nice to soak in the snow! The water was a bit dirty this time, which isn't the norm. Was very happy that they were open for my birthday soak!
I love to soak in their 12 person hot tub. Very relaxing. Be aware that it is clothing optional.
I thought everyone was very nice & respectfu, really neat-looking place too. Gotta say though, I really didn't like the co-ed changing/shower situation. I didn't see anything about that before going, then upon finding out I figured I would just change in a stall, but the bathroom stalls are so tiny they're obviously not meant to be used for that. I can shower off in my suit but I just wish there was an option to change privately for people that didn't care to be naked in front of literally everyone... this is a preference though so I only took off 1 star.
Haven't been here in over a year or longer.. Boyfriend and I talked about going again, but we haven't made it back... We really enjoy the Everett house when we did go...
I have been a club member for years and years and have yet to have a bad massage. Sitting in the jacuzzi with the moon and venus rising = heavenly
Been here twice in the past two months; this is a beautiful place to soak soak/sauna/steam. It is co-ed and clothing optional (read: 90% if the people are naked) and it can take some getting used to showering naked next to another stranger. (There are no separate stalls for showering or changing your clothes). I highly recommend bringing your own towels, as they have ones for rental, but they are small and you really need two, one for sitting on & covering up as you walk between the two facilities, and another to dry off with once you are done. They have a cute tea house with kombucha on tap and snacks. They don't take reservations, so you may have to wait on a busy night for an opening. Also, you can soak for free on your birthday
Oh boy, what a relaxing time. I love going here and feeling recharged walking out. The facilities, staff, and operations are all amazing. Well-done everyone!
So amazing, my first time at this incredible spa, and yes I will return.
Words can not express the wonderful feeling of serenity, after taking in all that is available.
Next time I want to experience sensory deprivation flotation tanks, with total immersion.
Sounds intriguing.
Everyone working there demonstrating professionalism.
Highly recommend this facility.
This place has such a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. It was super busy when I went, but they only allow so many people in at a time so it never felt overly crowded. Everyone was very friendly and respectful. I definitely want to go back.
Shhh don't tell to many people about this place. But definitely visit.
I thought that the scenery was beautiful. The grounds well kept and the spa was clean. We have not tried the services other than the salt water tub and sauna. I originally booked the isolation tank for my boyfriend's bday on May 15th but we were unable to keep our appointment. The staff was so very accommodating and we will be visiting again soon.
Beware, they take the rules about no touching very seriously. I was scolded for massaging my partner's shoulders in the sauna. This is a place of healing and harmony.
Very posh compared to the other similar wellness spa in town, but not as inclusive. The amenities and deals are good.
Awesome staff, facilities, and atmosphere. Extra props to the crew keeping that place so clean, both free of dirt and creepers.
This review is in regards to the chiropractic facility. I hurt my back a while back and went to doctor Elliot feeling helpless. After X-rays and over twenty sessions over the course of 2-3 months paying out of pocket my lower back only got worse. He told me I would most likely have to get back surgery. On my last visit he was out of the office and the other doctor did not read my chart. He did this move that pushed on my lower back directly that was extremely painful. His face looked horrified when I yelped and he said you came in for shoulder pain right? Wow. This maneuver was a huge set back and completely irresponsible. I held back my tears and never went back. The way these doctors treat you is like an assembly line. Multiple patients at once, you re in and out with a few adjustments in a quick 15 minutes. My friend referred me to an acupuncturist and in a mere two sessions felt immediatel results. I ve been totally healed nowhere near needing spinal surgery (for sciatic pain and a bulging disc) at the age of 30. I would recommend you look elsewhere for care and guidance. Had I listened who knows where I d be today.
Love going here on a semi-regular basis; always leave feeling refreshed and relaxed. Great service; tip the staff!
I did the salt water float. Great staff, really cool place!
Unfortunately their facilities very strongly smell of chlorine the steam room is excruciating Lee hot and the people who run the place are just genuinely cranky
Just got home from being there for the first time. Such an amazing experience. The outdoor hot tub was a perfect temperature with beautiful nature around. Trees and tree lights surround you, with a great fire pit. While you re hanging out, you can order tea at the window. The sauna and steam room were great. Overall, just a great peaceful place to be.
I want to like this place. I purchased a Groupon for a massage and use of the spa. Booking was cumbersome and took multiple attempts to create a profile, request an appointment and confirm that appointment. I called repeatedly with no answer, you must leave messages and wait for a return call. On the day of service, I found the place to be extremely disorganized. My experience was the opposite of relaxing. All in all, I got an adequate massage and did not use the facilities. They don't seem to limit number of patrons. I came out of my massage the lobby was full of people and it was quite chaotic. I got a quick walk through at my request. There was no locker space nor room to undress with 9 other bodies in such small quarters, at that point it was just easier to go home and relax than force the situation. I may attempt this again but currently my only reason for returning is on the account I didn't get my drivers license returned.
*Update* It's been 10 days and I have left 2 voicemails inquiring whether or not my driver's license was mailed as requested and told that it would be. I have not received my license or a return call. This is simply confusing and unprofessional.
What a fabulous healing place! So many wonderful accommodations and the staff is wonderful. I highly recommend this spa if you are looking for a relaxing and safe environment for body therapy.
Id love to be able to tell you my experience but these people dont bother to call people back even if theyve left multiple nice messages regarding chiro care. Just unporofessional for someone who NEEDS chiro care to not even be reached out to.
Love the setup. They have a hot tub, sauna and steam room, in addition to other holistic services such as a massage parlour and chiropractor. The spa is clothes optional, and it reasonably priced per hour. The massage was very relaxing (they have several practitioners, which specialize in different techniques.) They also have a flotation tank, which was an interesting experience for a first timer like me. Worth trying!
I love the tea house/soaking pool out back, and the dry heat sauna inside, long wait sometimes, so save yourself the trouble and go full membership...
I've been a member for years. It's gotten a lot busier than days past. The good word is spreading. But they limit the number of folks at a time so it's not too crazy. But expect to wait for a while to get in. Pro Tip: The hobbit sauna is always empty. I've found all the staff to be very patient and friendly.
Great. Super relaxing. Beautiful atmosphere. Feels super safe even as a female alone.
I have been a few times and always have had a great experience. Although the last time I went the float tank was colder than the last few times I had been which made it a little hard to relax.
Amazing unforgettable and healing space. Especially after a massage from Stefan.
Steam room, sauna, and outdoor salt soaking tub are a real dream.
Staff was friendly and professional. The environment was extremely relaxing. I look forward to my next visit!
I did the float and fell asleep or pretty close to it several times. Then took advantage of the sauna and hot tub. Groupon is the way to go for this place.
absoulutely horrible messages asked before I bought and booked for a couples message which they DON'T offer or do should have left right there and requested a full refund! and was a total joke naked old men running around in a clothing optional atmosphere, community spa features left before we even finished our purchased package completely ruined date night and put us both in a foul mood
I'm sure they have good reason for it, but I was disappointed not to be let in at all until late in the day because I'm a man. My friend convinced me that it was worth the wait and when we finally got in, I was especially pleased with the locker system, showers, and wet sauna, which was delightfully hot and so full of steam I couldn't see more than 4 feet.
Such an amazing space. Friendly staff, clean and relaxing.
Best place to relax in PDX. I really love the steam room and floating. Personal very friendly. Recommend this hidden treasure.
Great little gem in east Portland. Friendly staff. A handful of massage therapists so you have options to find a good fit for you. Never used it but they do have chiropractors on site. Very comfortable and relaxing outdoor area
One of the best spas in the city this place and its sister location both have amazing hottubs for under 20/hr. They have a mens only day, a women only day, and an lgbt only day to accommodate everyones needs.
Impossible to make a reservation at this place. I ve tried 4 different times with their online system and all 4 times were cancelled without reason. They state you must have a cc on file before reservation- I did- all 4 times. Their online schedule says one thing but apparently they like to vet the appointment requests for their convenience? I dunno. Can t rate the quality of the place bc they won t give me the opportunity too. Oh well, knot springs was pretty dope I ll go there instead.
I found another gem in Portland!! The Everett Healing Center offers a float spa, dry sauna, and wet steam room with lavender and cedarwood essential oil. I believe the oils vary day to day. There is a large outdoor jacuzzi under a canopy of trees with cold plunge tubs, stone showers(outside), a fire pit, a tea room with kombucha, a meditation area, and all around peaceful ambiance. I am in LOVE! Clothing is optional in certain areas allow for greater freedom in the experience. Definitely an oasis!! The experience depends on the company that's there though. I had a very relaxing peaceful experience all the way up till the end when a very loud man was what I call "yell-talking" in the jacuzzi. Everyone was very respectful. Staff was great and answered all my questions as well as gave me a mini tour. Very happy. Will be back.
Cozy and worth the price. Wasn't too busy when we went on a Saturday which was lucky. The facilities were clean as could be expected and the outdoor areas relaxing. Nothing like warming your bare buns by the fire!
The place is in two buildings and two backyards so its fun to explore and wander the first time. An hour is plenty of time to soak and hit the spas. 90 minutes was long enough for a couple rotations and a cup of tea by the fire... It felt like we had been there all day. It would be nice to spend a whole afternoon lounging in the gazebo or tearoom!
The main building where reception is has a larger sauna and is more social. The second house is "quiet" for meditation
I like to be naked, but a few people were in swim suits. Comfortable non-sexual environment with beautiful people.
Clothes are optional here it's a very freeing it's a safe place to get some steam therapy. It's a peaceful place and you can get really good massages here.
This place is wonderful.... when everything works.
The great: A truly relaxing space right in the heart of Portland. The steam room is fantastic, the showers are delightful, the hot tub salty and inviting, and the saunas appropriately hot. It's laid out creatively and is inviting to relaxation.
I've gone here with my sweetie and she's rarely felt creeped out by guys here, so that's a good sign.
The not-so-great is that the facilities have started to fall apart over the past 6 months or so, so I don't quite feel my membership is as worth it. Currently: The steam room is expected to be out for weeks. The hot tub's waterfall hasn't worked in many months, and occasionally it's a "luke-warm tub". The cold plunge tubs are cracked and broken. The lights in various areas have worked sporadically.
And then: The ugly: Happened the other day where the employees, otherwise extremely friendly and peaceful, were all complaining about other non-present employees, to the alarm of customers. This just isn't that kind of space for anyone to complain in this acerbic manner.
All-in-all this place has the markings of what seems a great idea, that might be going through either growing pains, or management issues. I hope it gets turned around quickly, or I will demand at least some of my money back given they "force" you to sign up for a membership of 6 months minimum. If you're going to do that, make sure you keep your end of the bargain?
I'm giving it just about 3.658 stars.
Great escape for anyone looking for some R&R amidst the hustle and bustle. I noticed a killer Groupon, offering an hour massage and an hour hot tub, sauna and steam room for $79. Otherwise its $15 for half an hour $22 for a full hour $30 for 90 minutes and $45 for unlimited use up to an entire day.
The whole act of controlling the breath, through the mental anguish related to overheating and overchilling is in itself a meditation. I challenge you to push your limits, and try to spend 10 minutes in a sauna or steam room, then submerge yourself up to your chin for 3 minutes in the cold plunge. Remain overhydrated, and of coarse listen to your intuition. [Maybe 5 and 1.5 minutes will be better for you, or start with even 3 and 1.]
I personally, have a spiritual experience, when I retain breath control, and focus my attention on slowing my heart rate. Thus increasing my proficiency to remain centered, in situations where my automatic reflex responses might try to distract me from that single pointed focus.
The staff are friendly. Most patrons appear to be blissing out, on the simple ability to disconnect from the worries of the world. Magical places, like this gem, do exist. All we have to do, is show up to the occasion and simply. make time to enjoy them!
To bad a free spa opened up outside of health athority jurisdiction. Got to put smart everyone. It's in Mt. Hood National forest owned by A secret society. No choice. You'll have to find us. We are not on map cause that would put us into Covid jurisdiction.
This place offers top rate massages and chiropractic care. But the real gem is the spa. Steam rooms, saunas, and the best outdoor hot tub in town (that I know of). The spa is clothing optional.
We love to come here and relax. It s so lovely to be in the middle of the city and to be so healing. There s a little tea house out back and so many options for soaking or sauna. I highly recommend this place.
Beautiful and relaxing. I Will say off the bat after reading some of the reviews... to me most "clothing optional" places means naturism and I would expect to see people in their birthday suits. Here was no exception. Well maintained and comfortable environment to have a hot tub soak and to sunbathe. Also a great spot if you want to use a sauna and or steam room! Great tranquil meditation area as well with a sauna and steam room!
One of my favorite get away and relax spots in PDX.
Staff was very friendly, I was given a float package as a gift to share with my daughter. I did not read the website and I let her pick the place and make the reservation...so I was not prepared for co-ed clothing optional. Neither my daughter or I were comfortable getting naked in front of each other let alone strangers so finding out we didn t even get an option to not have to change/shower in private or at the very least a women s locker room was very overwhelming! Is it really that hard to provide a women s and men s changing room for those who would like to utilize the clothing on option? I had a double mastectomy with a hot mess of scars that I prefer to keep to myself. I had to change into my swimsuit in the float room just to take a shower. If I didn t have the float room I would have had to use the very small bathroom or changed within inches of naked men. So as they advertise that clothing is optional, getting naked in front of strangers is not optional.
Beautiful space. There was no orientation of any kind even though it was my first time visiting other than signing the paperwork and reviewing the sign in the lobby. I asked for an overview and a tour, but was told that my massage therapist would come get me when it was time. The massage therapist also did not explain anything, so I had to wait in the crowded lobby again for a long time to find out where to go next. I also didn't know if I needed to keep track of my own spa time and when it started, and so I went back out to the lobby to ask. When I got there the person at the front desk was stressed and explaining to another waiting visitor that many people were overstaying their appointments, perhaps having the same confusion I was. I didn't see clocks anywhere so I don't know how anyone would know when to leave. I left early bc I was stressed about losing track of time and overstaying.
When I was getting dressed to leave, an employee was giving some visitors a tour. Honestly, that was really frustrating. It seems like the service is really hit or miss and the volume is hard for them to keep up with. Maybe there could be a chime every 15 minutes or something.
So relaxing, kind staff.
Highly recommend going.
Free hour (within 4 days of) your birthday.
Ive been coming to the Everett house for years, the staff has always been extremely nice and the facility is always clean and very relaxing.
Lovely place for steam, sauna ,soak, cold plunge. Clean calm environment. Randy Jacobsen is an amazing massage therapist for those who have problems with pain and tension. He really cares about figuring out the best way to help you and I have always left feeling much better than when I came in.
And now they have an in spa tea house, what more could you need?
Really enjoyed the atmosphere. Felt so rejuvenated after visiting for a soak in the tub and sauna. Free entry on your birthday is a special treat. Be sure to check out their cafe for a yummy cup of tea.
I had one of the best massages I've had in a long time from Arianna yesterday! I believe she used a combination of deep tissue and played around a bit with some craniosacral techniques... I think I entered into some altered state of consciousness that was pure relaxation. Today I feel amazing, and the chronic pain in my back is totally absent. When I become rich I will be making weekly appointments with Arianna. :)
Sweet spot for major self care. I wish their cold soak tubs were bigger though, for full submersion! The indoor/outdoor showers did the trick, but then everyone has to watch you hop around as you get cold blasted. Highly recommend it.
Great place to relax and reflect, any time of the year
Beautiful healing center, outdoor jacuzzi and cold plunge. An oasis of peace in the city!
I'm giving 3 stars because they are always a little bougie, unlike Common Ground which I think is more down to earth. Portland is a little bougie so they fit right in. It's spa area is beautiful. They have a larger tub than Common Ground and a fire pit area with cold water soaking tubs. No minors allowed, unlike at Common Ground. They have two houses with the hot tub in the space between. The first house, where you check in is the talk side. It's lockers, no nonsense plain. The other house is niiceee. It has wet and dry saunas, the float tubs, a gorgeous circle shower thing, and a small locker area. The drawback is that it is a silent side and if you let out so much as a quiet fart, they will shush you.
absolutely my favorite part of Portland. I love the comfort and accessibility here and everyone is patient and kind. I always come back and will be getting a membership. Would give more stars if I could!
So my hubby and I purchased the groupon for a 90 minute float for 2. No where on the groupon, nor on their website (that I saw) did it mention them being a nude facility. We did not know it is a nude co-ed facility until we arrived and received the waiver. The staff, when we arrived, (new years day) were just complaining to one another about not wanting to be there and the woman that checked us out was just very loud and rude. Our session began 5 minutes late and the tour took up at least 20 minutes of our floating time. The tanks were tiny so it was not a sensory deprivation experience because we kept bumping into the walls of the tanks. We also could both hear the sauna door opening and shutting and the creaking of the sauna benches as people sat down, even with ear buds inside the tanks. Our actual float time was about 45 minutes, due to the tour, changing, and them knocking on the door 5 minutes before your float time is up. All in all, the best part of this experience was the cat.
I need to post a reminder on my calendar every month to go back to Everett House. I tend to forget how relaxed I feel after I leave. Recently tried the float tanks for the first time, and it was an unbelievable compliment to the rest of the spa experience. It can be crowded, but booking in advance helps.
Always a joy and honor to be a regular guest. Intense healing environment to be cherished.
I bought a groupon for one 30 minute massage and 60 minute spa session. During my first phone call to make an appointment, they suggested I might want to upgrade to a 60 minute massage for $30. I refused. The next phone call took place when I had to cancel my appointment. This time, they wanted to upgrade me to a 60 minute massage for $20. I refused again. The third phone call was a reminder call with the same offer of an upgrade but this time for $30. I refused again. When I arrived at the spa, they again asked me to upgrade and again I refused. Groupon had offered me the same upgrade for $9.00. The facility is beautiful and clean and quiet and peaceful. What I didn't like was the pushiness of the staff regarding these upgrades. There were only 4 people there on a Sunday and it seems like they might be desperate to make more revenue. Otherwise, I enjoyed the spa but will probably not return.
This place is great to go and relax and get all cleaned up.
If you want to be completely ignored for 10 minutes while you are standing in front of two women who work there and refuse to answer if there is a wait for or not then this the place for you! I love to be ignored by people who I want to give my money to.
Comfortable environment to strip down and sweat, soak, and relax. I usually go in the evenings to wind down before bed, but recently went in the morning and it was just as rejuvenating. Make sure to check out their website for their real time wait-list, women only hours, LGBTQ only hours, and other neat information like workshops and birthday specials. Always a pleasant experience, I will continue to support The Everett House and Team!
Such an amazing place. Great massage from Randy, followed by spa time--the best way to spend "me time". The place has a great vibe, and the employees are super friendly. And yes, the spa really is clothing optional; which is so amazing, and very Portland.
