This place is wonderful.... when everything works.

The great: A truly relaxing space right in the heart of Portland. The steam room is fantastic, the showers are delightful, the hot tub salty and inviting, and the saunas appropriately hot. It's laid out creatively and is inviting to relaxation.

I've gone here with my sweetie and she's rarely felt creeped out by guys here, so that's a good sign.

The not-so-great is that the facilities have started to fall apart over the past 6 months or so, so I don't quite feel my membership is as worth it. Currently: The steam room is expected to be out for weeks. The hot tub's waterfall hasn't worked in many months, and occasionally it's a "luke-warm tub". The cold plunge tubs are cracked and broken. The lights in various areas have worked sporadically.

And then: The ugly: Happened the other day where the employees, otherwise extremely friendly and peaceful, were all complaining about other non-present employees, to the alarm of customers. This just isn't that kind of space for anyone to complain in this acerbic manner.

All-in-all this place has the markings of what seems a great idea, that might be going through either growing pains, or management issues. I hope it gets turned around quickly, or I will demand at least some of my money back given they "force" you to sign up for a membership of 6 months minimum. If you're going to do that, make sure you keep your end of the bargain?

I'm giving it just about 3.658 stars.
