Cleanest airport and very large and systematic.
Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (IATA: CCU, ICAO: VECC) is located int he Indian city of Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal state in India. CCU Airport is located about 17 km from Kolkata city centre. Kolkata s was named Calcutta until 2001, and before, the CCU Airport s name was Dum Dum Airport. The new name Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport is in honour to the Indian independence movement leader. Kolkata Airport is the 5th busiest airport in India and one of the two international airports operating in West Bengal, the other one located in Bagdogra.

Kolkata has a rich history, stunning architecture, plenty of cultural institutions, and nice flea markets, so it is definetely a delightful place to visit. The city s dynamic crowds and busy nature make it the perfect destination for both solo or group travellers.

Kolkata Airport Terminals

Terminal 1 - Domestic: The domestic terminal of the airport let n numbers of domestic flights from all the renowned airlines depart and arrive with ease. It was expanded in the year 2009 to cater to an increasing demand of travelers.

Terminal 2 - International: The international terminal of the airport is very huge and offers better services to the passengers. Numbers of international flights from all the leading airlines arrive and depart from here at regular intervals, connecting the city with all the major countries of the world.

Terminal 2 - Cargo: The Cargo terminal is spread over a wide area which includes a huge warehouse. Each of the import and export products is kept safely here and proper security surveillance is done by the in place.

Baggage Services:
Baggage wrapping facility is available in the international departure area and there are luggage offices in both the international as well as domestic terminals. From here one can avail complementary services and can reach the destination without any difficulty.

Places to Shop and Eat:
There are a few shops in the airport from where one can buy stuff at a reasonable cost. Nevertheless, a shopping mall is being constructed close by, where Hotel Ashok once stood.
Within the airport Haldiram Prabhujior is there that offers delicious food and snacks to eat. Other than this, there are cafes and other stalls as well.

The airport provides all the necessary places required for the layover. The staffs a very helpful and polite.

The Immigration services of this airport is the worst in the world i have ever visit. The Immigration authority harasses people for no reason but money. I have seen the worst experiences in my life. I have also listened the same experiences people faced in here. If it continue like this, it will degrade the India's tourism attraction as it is a renowned international in India and World. I hope Indian Govt. should pay attention in this airport.......

Present system of drop and pickup in private car is very good. Authority is now trusting people more than ever. Smooth flow of cars.

Airport with limited facilities. Public transport from here is not very cool, specifically after 09.00 pm.

Pretty lovely n wide terminal with huge parking area n hastle free check in with tight security check n luggage boarding at different places with smooth way to reach the boarding point. Very well maintained with courteous staff .. pretty amazing engineering work and it's changed a lot from when I visited here in 2014..

Well decorated and clean. Domestic and International terminal both are in one shade.

Not so good no checking for covid nothing all staff no maks no santizer on platfrom.

Reaching Airport takes time because of traffic. Need to start earlier where ever you are because even inside Airport its narrow some times traffic gets tight.

One of the best airport in India. The ambiance is extremely good and the setup of everything is inexplicable. There are many aerobridges and the staffs are very helpful and friendly. There are also numerous shops for food, magazine, and many more. Overall everyone must visit this airport.

Terminal 2 is used for departure and arrival..where most of the domestic flights can be taken from gate 2A and 2B and international flight from gate 4A and 4B. you can book cab from the arrival gate

Well maintained . Arrival flight down side 3A 3B national and 4A 4B international and departure flight upper side. Directions board given from entrance. Prepaid taxi ,AC bus available but better go for ola uber than prepaid taxi

I like the idea of collecting used PPE kit, face shield and mask at the entrance. It's a nice initiative to reduce plastic waste outside the airport. Post lockdown travel experience.

It is very clean and beautiful airport. The management works very good. Everything is done in systematic way. I recently visited during this pandemic and I have to say that they are managing things in a very good way and are taking proper precautions too.
This is located a bit far from the city but you need not worry because the transportation facility is also good.

The air port is biggest and very clean . I liked so much and beautiful places thanks for nice co operations.

Huge international airport. Direct flight for many countries for dhaka, thailand, Myanmar, china, japan, philipins and many countries.

Overall very bad.
Compared to Banglore airport, kolkata airport is very very poor.
1) There's no eating option at all outside the airport, in fact anywhere near to airport.
2) Cleanliness is soooo ok ok where it has to be super clean for it being an international airport.
3) People are also not nice, at least the ones we interacted, with taxi drivers, people outside the airport, the airport crew, few securities.
4) If you have 9+ hours of layover it's very difficult to sleep as you just have bus stand type sitting chairs mostly.
5) No big TV screens
6) Lounge doesn't have washroom, no easy chairs, limited food options, it's NOT 24hr open.

Over-all, it's not upto the standards of an international airport at all.

Need more attention , . Overall service is so good.

The place is very well designed.....ain case of Arrival.....this is the quickest airport and It has all kinds of connectivity including cabs, bike taxi and bus services....

I used to travel through Netaji Subhash Chandra airport very frequently and it is having nice cooperative staffs and shops are having genuine price.

You can get regular piza or burger or other food on market rates.
Launge facilities are very good.

It is a biggest International Airport of Eastern India. Surrounding environment is neat and clean which is clarifying its standard.

Airport with full of mosquitoes...can easily find people lying on the floor just like any second class Railway Station

took my flight to uk from this airport it is clean but queues are too long at last i had to pay money to get in the vip line which was litterally empty thought i likee it

Great airport. Everything went smooth and hassle free. Got the boarding passes from the e- machine which saved a lot of time.Also, we weren't required to get an x-ray of our baggages. Within 20 minutes of our entry we were done with the security check too. There are various eateries and branded shops available at the airport. Overall , a comforting place.

One of the best looking airports in our country...everything is well organised especially the new launched food court is awesome but the behaviour of staffs need a hell lot of improvement...

Gateway of eastern india.Well connectivity with south-eastern asia.Direct flight to singapore,bangkok,bhutan,bangladesh,Dubai,usa,srilanka,malaysia,china.Here two runway is available but two can't be used simultaneously because of some problem.Well management.Terminal is enough large but another terminal is needed .Immigration is very fast.

This airport needs a facelift just like the rest of Bengal.

Food is very costly. They are selling one bottle of drinking water at Rs.100!

Well managed small airport in comparison to other states. It's just nearby to dumdum. Very decent place. The staffs are also courteous. Nice and clean place with nice facility for time passing inside the airport. But the problem is no waiting area for people who come to receive others.

Not as swanky as the airports of Mumbai or Hyderabad ... but this airport functions pretty well as per its size ... Some facilities like toilets need some improvement ... it sometimes becomes very chaotic as the airport is quite small but handles about 17-20 million passengers a year, better traffic management can improve the passenger experience greatly.
