One of the good airport in India. Bathroom needs to be clean more. Less eating options inside.
Superbly maintained and all the staffs are kind and responsive
Very Nice, baby care room available in both up and down also staffs are very helpful, happy
Lack of proper signs. Aggressive touts in the arrival area. Definitely understaffed.
Gateway to North East of India. Recently renovated airport is active throughout the night.
The standards have to be improved though. Bathrooms are not adequately clean.
The Left luggage facility is available in basement floor, where you can store a bag for 24H for just Rs 20. Make sure you lock the bag.
Den of mosquitoes in the domestic departure area. Mosquito repellent is a must.
Big, spacious and clean airport. Though there is an effort to sell handicraft items of Bengal most of them have gathered dust, which really needs a face lift. There is a small food court upstairs. Food is quite average and service needs to come up to a good level. But the food options seem very limited and prices exorbitant. Saw a number of people having food from outside due to the lack of food options at the airport. Washrooms are quite clean and well maintained.
Very good place. Airport staff are also very good in behibier. A grade clean high class airport.
From entry through security checking to boarding all are properly arranged in this covid times.
Toilets are pathetic, no proper cleaning, bad smell is simply killing us..
In this covid days they maintained well, everywhere cleaning is going on.
One security check-in for women is an issue. Pre screening of checked in baggage required here - wastes time. Neat and clean. Staff attitude and baggage deivery time can do with major improvement.
I worked at flurrys in 2019 as a restaurant supervisor as per my experience please do not order any food and confectionery item for this brunches because they are not maintaining proper hygiene as well as they are making chicken pork and beef sandwiches in one sandwiches maker and they don't have separate fry pan to make separate dishes like chicken beef and pork as well as vegetarian. So please before you order think about my comments believe me its 100% true
Very nice and clean but lots of mosquito are down stairs areas.
The airport is very beautiful I went traveling myself and you can travel guys and enjoy it.
One of those busiest airports of India. Connects all over Asia. Very clean environment and very beautiful structures.
About time the authorities should look at organizing the crowds at the gate
it gets chaotic here
Located in dumdum, very nice architecture, well furnished, maintained by airport authority of India, we have departure from upper level and arrival from lower level, stairs and lift are available, from 1 to 3 are tge domestic gates and 4 5 are international gates both for arrival and departure. Food lounge are also thr in boarding gate area, well maintained washroom. Total have 8 clusters for different airlines check in. Followed by A to E is for domestic flights and F to H for international flights. Thanks
A better international airport with multiple facility with a big area.
Superb Airport.. Very spacious.. Very Big.. Well structured
This is an international airport. Situated at kolkatta ( west bengal). This airport well maintained. It is very much busy airport. You can travel internation and domestic from here.
One of the well maintained airport of India.
Every thing are well managed.
Taxi services are available outside the exit gate.
Washrooms are old that is the only drawback.
Very surprised and disappointed to see the messy systems in place in the international section. Especially the security check. Huge lines because of only 3 working machines for a crowd of at least 100 standing in queue at any particular time. Takes nearly an hour to pass through security. Only one booth for a huge line of women waiting and the staff were clueless to handle the issue.
Next shock was that there are so few toilets at the gates. Does not deserve to be an international airport. The domestic section is far better.
Netaji Chandra Bose International Airport is one of the very clean airport I found in India. I never feel any problem on airport. Staffs are very friendly. Price of the foods are not very expensive. Food quality is very good in reasonable price. I recommended to take a Cappuccino Coffee. Test of the coffee was very good
Some domestic and international evacuation flights are only operating due ongoing COVID19 pandemic.
Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (IATA: CCU, ICAO: VECC) is an international airport located in Dum Dum, West Bengal, India, serving the Kolkata metropolitan area. It is located approximately 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from the city centre. The airport is locally known as Kolkata Airport and also was earlier known as Dum Dum Airport before being renamed in 1995 after Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, a prominent leader of the Indian independence movement. Kolkata Airport is one of the oldest airports in India; it was opened in 1924.
Spread over an area of 1,641 acres (664 ha), Kolkata Airport is the largest hub for air traffic in the eastern part of the country and one of two international airports operating in West Bengal, the other being Bagdogra. The airport handled almost 20 million passengers in the financial year 2017 18, making it the fifth-busiest airport in India in terms of passenger traffic after airports at Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai. The airport is a major centre for flights to Northeast India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, Southeast Asia and the Middle Eastern cities of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha. In 2014 and 2015, Kolkata Airport won the title of Best Improved Airport in the Asia-Pacific region awarded by the Airport Council International.
No laptop work station or mobile charging points. Food is as per an not much options. Had a layover of 9 hours an nothing to do. If you are sleepy and tired, best place. No one gonna disturb you.
One of the best Airports in India.
All the flights to North Eastern India, Andaman & Nicobar Islands are scheduled from Domestic Airport.
Good airport, modern and spacious with lots of light. Arrival and departure areas are orderly, most of their immigration staff are pleasant enough. For such a large and busy airport the choice of business lounges is limited. Overall, facilities are good.
Decent Airport. Clean. Spacious. Easily accessible. Full amenities. Friendly management.
Kolkata International Airport or also referred as Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport is one of the busiest airports in India. The distance from the airport to main Kolkota City is approximately 15 kilometres.
With an annual traffic of 10.3 million travelers, the airport is an entry point to commerce and industries in eastern and the north eastern parts of India, Kolkata Airport enjoys a commanding position in Airport Advertising in India. Since it is situated by the banks of the Hooghly River, Kolkata is also called the "City of Joy".
The airport is also well connected with Howrah railway station. Great option at their duty free shopping area. Also the Departure area has plenty eateries. Security personnel are courteous and the airport staffs too.
Awesome very nice , very well maintained under covid 19 situation...
Very well co-ordinated exit service..all cabs, taxis, bus service is with in 100 to 200 metres of exit gate..also allows personal cars as well..very clean environment and tight n helpful security outside the building on the exit platform
It's the best airport in the Eastern India.
Seating arrangement is good. Improved booking counters, ambience, feel.
One thing I feel very surprised that after security checking, there are very less no of display boards which makes the traveller very confused. The airport should increase the number of display boards.
Also, a big problem of mosquito. Although, I have seen that the guys are spraying mosquito killers inside the departure terminal but hardly of any use.
If you compare the airport with the other biggies like Mumbai, bangaluru or Delhi airports, it's very much lagging in the matter of exclusivity, feel.
Kolkata Airport is one of the best airports in India in terms of ambience and passengers satisfaction. The domestic and international lounge being built under the same roof one can easily catch the connecting flight in no time and have a hassle free change over from one lounge to the other. The behavior of the Airport staff is extremely polite and deserve admiration.
Very pleasant atmosphere in the airport. The effect of air conditioning is too good. Helpful staff.
The airport has a cloak room. It is situated in the basement.
Exit from domestic terminal gate 3B or 3C. On the right side you will find a Lift 2. Take the lift to basement and then take a right and a left. You will find the cloak room there.
The bags have to be locked.
If you are single passanger never book a cab allways take CCU bus service for howraha station or any where only @50 ac bus
Cool Man the best architure and Designed Airport in India.
Wow amazing airport, also love him,any times transport available.
Not as big and facilitative as some of the other bigger metro cities in India. However, clean, spacious and systematic.
Clean place, both the arrival and departure areas, well maintained areas. For departure time 4 gates are used, while 4A and 4B is used mainly for international departures, 1 to 3 are for domestics. Each airline company has their kiosks over there. There is a maintenance problem in prepaid taxi stand, if you arrive at late night you may face some problems as bus services will not be there, app cans are available approximately all times, in other times you can avail bus services to various places.
Definately the best airport I have every been to. It has very pleasant environment with lots of greenery with is very pleasant to watch and full of stores which makes very easy to spend time and actually I went to each and every store and bought many things too. It too have various options to eat from starting from biryani to momos or sweets or sandesh etc. The siting area is good . The washrooms here are very clean and are too many in numbers so you don't have to worry about that thing. I spent 6 hours here as my flight was delayed but I loved the time I spent here.
Gate21 Good Terminal And Airport Facilities also good
Fly to dubabi emerites airlines gate no 4 of neraji Subhasree Chandra international Airport. Come early as it takes a while in queue. No baggage screening required. Donot carry power bank or battery.
Traveling to BBSR by indigo
Great flying experience out of the airport. The bathrooms are mostly clean, terminals are nuce, they also have good sitting and sleeping areas.
The travel lounge is basic, but it does the job of feeding you and sitting you well, away from the crowd.
Not up to the mark of an International Airport. Prepaid taxi and App based cabs are not available regularly. Airport is maintained well but once you come out it's all chaos.
Love the Airport.
Feeling like a great hope.
Officially best renovated Airport.
Personally the one which everyone in the world recognise.
It has been renovated recently and it looks good. Most of the basic amenities are available and it's neat and clean. But there's a catch. For example I landed at Kolkata today early morning and had to go to the washroom, and to my utter horror there wasn't any toilet paper inside any of the three doors!! I observed it just in the nick of time. Then I saw some employees taking paper roll outside near hand dryer before going inside toilet. Such improvisation people are doing; and they want to become world class airport. Well I have to say they have miles to go.
Edit: I'm here today and the infrastructure has improved a lot. Numerous self check in kiosks ease the hassle of standing in long check in queues. The staff is very helpful. The traffic to here is still a real pain and killing. Always, I repeat always keep extra time in your hand keeping traffic in account.
