This is a beautiful hotel it is definitely a home away from home.
The hotel is starting to show its age, but the staff is amazing and the beds are heaven
This review is to cover their Sunday brunch the staff the food the atmosphere unbelievable have referred many of my friends and they also enjoy immensely will be going back again
Nice, clean rooms. Event accommodations and catering were excellent in variety and presentation. Hotel bar closes early for my tastes.
Good hotel, friendly staff. Heating is weird. Very hot or cold spots
Great find! Very friendly and accommodation. If you're in the area looking for a place to stay I highly recommend this place.
Staff is pleasant. Recently stayed during the pandemic and was satisfied will compliance of the Connecticut rules for safety.
Facility is upscale and elegant! Food was delicious! Two thumbs up!
Stayed for a wedding, the room was beautiful and well kept, the staff was pleasant and it was a beautiful experience for the wedding itself
Very nice room and staff. Huge bed that was the most comfortable bed I ve EVER slept in. Didn t want to leave because of the bed alone (lol). Cleaning staff cleaned the room everyday and left new linens and toiletries. Only downside is we didn t get to try the pool because it was SUPER crowded. Overall great place and would love to stay again!
Had a private even there. Everything was great.4 stars only because the waitress at my table was not the friendliest even we didn't bother her a lot
I photographed a wedding here and was very impressed! The suite the bride & bridesmaids got ready in was stunning and made for magazine-worthy photos! The ceremony location was supposed to be outside in an adorable courtyard, but due to weather it was moved inside - and did not disappoint! The ballroom inside used for the ceremony was beautiful - so rare to have a "back up" plan in such an ideal place. The reception room was beautiful as well, and looked more like a high end banquet venue than a hotel venue. The staff was always present, always friendly and helpful, and totally on point the whole night! The food was delicious to boot. Highly recommend Ethan Allen for weddings & events!
A very nice place to visit nice people in the front office and services are excellent
Went to a professional event here. Food and service was good. Definitely recommend
Great service and friendly staff. Very nice facility
Not only was the hotel itself super nice (we had a separate living room in our apartment, complete with flat screen tv) but what an amazing staff! We stayed one night, and upon returning home 75 miles away, I discovered I had left my tablet in the room. They actually had it and sent it back to me (I paid for the shipping, but that's a small price to pay for their honesty and integrity! Plus it was my fault.) Besides that, the room was huge, clean and comfy. Looking forward to staying there again!
Nice hotel with good spaces for parties and events. The hotel can stand to be updated a little but all around it's a nice place
Very nice hotel. Bed was a little hard, but overall a great place.
Efficient staff and clean stylish rooms. Nothing overly fancy--just nice. Good location: not inner-city urban but not in the middle of nowhere. Easy on and off from highway. Enjoyable.
I would think that a hotel named after the famous furniture dealership would be nicer than this.
Excellent customer service. Very clean, nicely furnished room. The lobbies were beautifully decorated for the holidays. Great experience.
For $15.03 breakfast was great and the servers were excellent. Shout out to Antonio and the Pretty lady whom I didn't get chance to catch her nam
The hotel is beautiful and the the service is wonderful
I went to a bridal shower. They have the best food and very friendly staff.
Always great service and value from the catering team at Eathan Allan, great venue for a baby shower...
Nice hotel. Staff is welcoming and courteous. Brunch is underwhelming for the price. Location is close to shops and restaurants. Would give 5 stars but houskeep needs to do a better job cleaning under bed and furniture from previous guests.
This hotel is old, outdated, and musty/smelly. And it didn't help that they were sealing the front parking lot, so our original room was downright pungent. They were nice enough to move us to the back of the hotel upon request. And the front desk lady was nice. But this place needs to be updated/remodeled/freshened up.
Nice hotel, clean. Lighting in the rooms are a little dark but other than that I cant complain
Hung out at the bar with some friends. Nice atmosphere, very good food and drinks.
I personally had to sleep on the fold out couch and ever since I have had major back issues, the sheets had holes in them and the pillows were very uncomfortable, but the hotel itself was actually very nice and relaxing, would have loved a breakfadt though.
It is a very elegant and upscale establishment. I've always had excellent treatment and service here and the garden/gazebo is BEAUTIFUL..i see why it's used for weddings by so many
Clean rooms. Friendly staff. It's a nice place to stay
I spent a couple of nights here on a business trip. Overall, the entire stay was quite pleasant. The bed was comfortable, the pillows soft, the food was very good, and the staff nice. However, there were a couple things that lost the hotel a star. The shower was an experience in itself. What started out as a pleasant and warm shower ended in a scalding hot shrill cry of surprise as the pipes shaking for whatever reason was enough of a vibration to turn my control handle all the way to maximum heat. In addition, the toilet was so close to the wall that it left me sitting in an awkward sideways position.
Overall, great stay except the face melting heat of the shower.
Slept well like sleeping on a cloud; excellent outdoor amenities, pool, lounge chairs, nearby restaurants that delivers.
Its a good hotel with great service. This is my second stay here and its as good as it was the first time. Super quiet area and close to some pretty good food places nearby
My company has a meeting for a few days once a year. This will be the 4th year of going. The hotel itself is very clean and well maintained. I had a single room. It was very clean and the king size bed was comfortable. There is a restaurant inside and also a bar. I was only at the bar. The service was good and the prices were ok. The food was very good(especially since they are cooking food for my large group of 150+ people) I would definitely stay there if I ever needed a hotel in that area.
My stay was average. Low shower heads for the tall.
The quality of the hotel and suite were excellent. Room was well furnished and comfortable. All for a great price. Will definitely return.
Nice room, comfortable beds, very pretty lobby and central pool area
Great hotel! While the rooms are somewhat dated, older bathrooms, very old windows, the hotel is extremely clean. Friendly staff at front desk, restaurant, and housekeeping.
We had our wedding here on 11/30/19. Lynne Copolla worked with us to make our wedding something great on a not so great budget. She listened to everything we wanted to do and worked with us to set it all up...and set it up again when we changed our minds on something. She made sure everything was done correctly and set up as we wanted. Every time we went there (unannounced) we were greeted warmly and everyone was more than happy to help in any way they could. The day before the wedding when we dropped everything off for the hotel guests the front desk staff and other hotel members (sorry I don't know who you all were) couldn't be more helpful in making sure all the cookies made it to the hotel guest bags and that all the guests got a bag.
The day of the wedding everything was under control every step of the way. I am a tough critic and this hotel went above and beyond in making out wedding over the top. Greg was the go to guy for the actual wedding, along with Lynne. The wait staff was fabulous. I wish I could remember all the names- but one of the waitresses was like my personal assistant! Every time I turned around looking for something or considering something she was there to say "What can I help you with?/What can I get you?" I never experienced anything like it! These people are well experienced in weddings and events and we had the best time at our wedding!
Thank you Ethan Allen hotel for taking care of us and our guests and making our wedding more than we ever expected it to be. You all did an amazing job. :)
Attended for a wedding reception. Not only was the food excellent, they ensured that everything served was gluten free for the bride and several members of her family. They went above and beyond to make sure guests felt comfortable and satisfied with the entire experience.
Hotel rooms we're spacious and perfect for occasiob
Went for a blood drive but the staff was very friendly, tasty cookies in the lobby for the guests and everything from the hallways to the bathrooms were clean and nicely kept!
My fiance and I are getting married this fall and are so excited we were able to book the reception at Ethan Allen Hotel. Eileen has been wonderful to work with; she has gotten to know us, has great ideas, and will undoubtedly make sure we are 100% happy with our reception.
Two weeks ago we did our tasting and were blown away by the food's presentation and taste. Both of us felt that several dishes were the best we've ever had.
The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. In particular Molly and Aixa have been very helpful whenever we stop in with additional questions or just to look around. Many of our guests, including us, will be staying at the hotel and without question the staff will help make the experience wonderful.
Great place for conferences. Spacious and the staff is really good
Went for a wedding, food was very good, beautiful place. Drinks were well made, great staff.
I stayed here for a business trip. The room was clean. WiFi was fast and solid. Bed was comfortable. I would stay here again.
The hotel is very pretty and large but the rooms were a little bit old and could use some modernization. It was comfortable and quiet, but overall just okay and maybe not worth the cost compared to other hotels in the area.
Typical, simple hotel. Room had basic amenities (minus microwave). Walls are thin so every sound from adjoining room could be heard.
The front desk was very organized, friendly and helpful. The lobby is very nice.
We decided after careful consideration to host our wedding block at the Ethan Allen Hotel. We visited the property and met with Minnie, who would be in charge of managing our block. We loved Minnie! She was so sweet when we met her, answered all of our questions, took us on a tour, and was always available via email or phone. The reason I feel that the Ethan Allen Hotel deserves one star is due to the management of my group on the night of my wedding. As a bride, you only get ONE wedding day, so you want everything to be absolutely perfect. I was very choosey in where to host my guests as quite a large number were traveling from out of town to attend our event. I decided somewhat last minute that I would like to have food available for my guests when they arrived back to the hotel after the wedding. I asked about this early on in our planning and was told that we were not allowed to have anything delivered and that I would need to order it from the restaurant. I paid over $250 for 5 small platters of fried food for my guests and asked for it to be in a semi private area as the hotel had 2 or 3 other wedding blocks. They said they would set it up in the bar, off to the side, which I decided should be fine after they insured the other weddings wouldn't be getting back until later. Flash forward to the night of the wedding. We arrived back and they had a nice little table set up inside the bar with 3 platters. Some of my guests enjoyed them, but there was no signage or anything to say that this was only for our wedding and was compliments of the family. Most of my guests thought this food was complimentary of the hotel, which it was not, but this was not that big of a deal to me. What was a big deal was that a number of my guests were under 21 and they were not allowed to enjoy the food in the bar. I politely asked the night manager to put some food in an area where these guests could also enjoy it and I was treated extremely rude. He said he would bring some platters out but not all, which was fine. He then told me that my guests had to be neat because he had an important event the next morning in that area. I said that should be fine, and that I would remind my guests. I appreciated him moving some of the food and thanked him graciously. Where the night gets ugly was following this food move. This night manager proceeded to call my guests disgusting, ripped food out of their hands, and ultimately put the platters which were half full away because he decided my guests shouldn't have the opportunity to eat from them anymore. Who is he to make this decision after I PAID in advance for these platters. Before writing this review, I contacted Minnie and asked her to refund my money as this is unacceptable. The hotel offered to refund me 50% which I think is total BS, but I guess I should be grateful that they offered something. I am just extremely disappointed in this hotel and their treatment of my guests after I was extremely respectful to them and even sung their praises on Friday night after some of my guests arrived. To add fuel to the fire, this hotel was also hosting a Sleep Apnea Conference during my wedding and on Friday night proceeded to scold some of my family members during their stay. I was never notified that this conference would be taking place during my wedding, so that at the very least I could give my family members a heads up. I was excited about hosting my family at this establishment as it is so beautiful and the rooms are great, however I now have such a salty view of the night of my wedding and the "after-party" we were promised after our wedding at the Ethan Allen Hotel. Before writing this review, I wrote multiple emails to the hotel and discussed these issues in depth with Minnie, I gave the hotel the opportunity to apologize and make things right, so far all I have heard is that we will be getting a 50% discount on the food from Minnie, via voicemail. BRIDES BEWARE!!!!!
First time stay at this hotel. Nice rooms and staff was great.
Multi-option, elegant event venue and hotel. Well trained and friendly staff. Full service: various size event spaces, in and/or outdoor, private or open (lobby) space, catering, wait staff, bar service, upscale prestaurant, and beautiful rooms (with Ethan Allen furnishings).
Premium, if you want it; budget options, if you need them. Close to good, basic (cheap) rooming. Plenty of parking. Shopping nearby. Super convenient to I84.
Not cheap, but worth what you spend and more.
Rooms are ok, a bit outdated. If a room is not ready when you go to check in, they will not let you. This means if somebody tries to check in after you and a room happens to be ready when they check in, they will leap frog you and get a room before you.
The hotel and the staff are nice. The decor is a bit dated but isn't too shabby and actually much better than most other hotels in the area.
Everything about the hotel is fine except the TVs. They are so ancient and not in a good way at all.
Other than that the hotel is a good for a stay in danbury area. Close to a lot of places to eat and the danbury mall.
Covid protocols are being followed. No breakfast and the restaurant operates on a fix menu Mon-Sat.
Really nice hotel. Very nice rooms. Would stay here again.
Hotel lobby is nice. Staff is excellent. Can't do enough for the guest. The rooms could use updated and fresh furniture. Lots os scratches.
I was there for a wedding rooms are very beautiful the courtyard was well kept and served as a great place to take our photos. The food was good and the staff was very pleasant we ended our night at the bar. A great night to remember.
I recently had the opportunity to spend a week at the Ethen Allen Inn, in Danbury Ct.
I would stay at this hotel hands down when traveling to this area. It may cost slightly more than some others, but you can't beat the friendly front desk staff as well as the awesome restaurant and bar connected to the hotel. Not to mention the cleanliness and beautiful grounds the hotel sits on. It is a dog friendly hotel, however you would never know it as the grounds are kept up, and of course guest are asked to pick up after there animals. It was a pleasure traveling with my service dog to this hotel. I plan to return, and will plan to stay here again. I will recommend you book ahead of time as it books up quite quickly! Thanks to all the staff at the Ethen Allen!
Sincerely Kathleen McKean
So classy and elegant! Such a beautiful stay. I want to come back up this way just to stay here again!
Fantastic hotel with easy access to the highway. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Nice sized room, comfortable bed, and the entire hotel is extremely well kept. Highly recommend!
I visited for a bridal shower. The banquet room was nice and the food was excellent. Everything seemed to run very smoothly there.
The people are very professional and super nice. Rooms are clean and inviting. I love it!
We had a great stay - the rooms were very comfortable and spacious, and ours even had two TVs. It's a fairly convenient location right off of 84 and by the Ethan Allen HQ. The staff are courteous and helpful.
The place is somewhat elegant but the staff is not friendly.
Went to a wedding here, stayed overnight, had a blast. Food was good, facility was clean and well maintained, staff was friendly. We forgot a phone charger cord in the room and they got it back to us. That's good for a 5 star review from me!
First, I want to thank Spencer for all of his help. I had surgery on Monday, and I have an appointment next Tuesday, the 6th. Unforeseen car issues happened, and my parents were trying to get back in time from picking up my niece from More
