Essentials Spa and Salon Review

I "treated"my boyfriend to a couples massage as part of his birthday gift and it was a disastrous experience in every way imaginable. When myself and my boyfriend arrived I requested another 30 minutes to be added to his massage so I could get a facial and he wouldn't be unoccupied. We were told that he would be getting a additional time. Instead my massage therapist finished 15 minutes before my boyfriends' massage - which cheated me out of a full massage. So I laid on the massage table disrobed and waited uncomfortable. To add insult to injury, after my boyfriend's massage therapist massaged his back (never got to the front) the reception sent a note instructing my boyfriends therapist that she could no longer add the extra 30 minutes to his massage. She made a mistake another couple would need the room therefore we got rush out like chopped liver.

In short: the massages were incomplete, the quality of the massage left a lot to be desired (my massage therapist never asked about my problem areas or pressure preferences), my boyfriend didn't get a full massage on his birthday and the receptionist did nothing to make us whole or make up from her mistakes. Horrible.

I've never written a review. Generally speaking I work in customer service and understand how difficult and unreasonable people can be. I usually brush things off because we are all human, make mistakes and sometimes things happen - it's not that deep etc. I typically view the glass as half full and try to practice gratitude no matter what. However, this experience right here was outrageous. The attitude of the receptionist and the lack of empathy and/or responsibility for the mix up is what drove me to write my first review ever at 31 years old. Spend your money elsewhere if you want a decent massage.

I would never go to this establishment again. Spavia in Winter Park is much better in every regard. You would be better off rubbing a ball against your back on the floor then going to this "business". Horrible.

Claudine did a terrific massage focusing on problem areas. She was thorough in understanding my injured areas and I left feeling relief in those areas and with guidance on how to treat at home. Best therapist I ve had so far. Although all my experiences have been positive especially for the price.

The best massage I have received in my life... very professional and kind. Relaxing atmosphere, very good aromass and just worth it all! Katelyn was the best! Im Very satisfied .

My husband and I went for a couples message, and I was going to get an eyelash tint afterwards. I was told there would be a 15 minute wait after the message for the eyelash tint. Everything was very relaxing. Definilty worth the $99 for the message. Apparently they are pretty crappy at time management because a 15 minute wait turned into a half hour wait. I ended up not even staying for the eyelash tint because I wasn t willing to chance waiting another half hour and wasting a bunch of time. REALLY disappointed. If they had been honest with the timing of everything up front I would not be so annoyed but I kept hearing she ll be with you in five minutes about 4 times.

Got a massafe for my wife, and told her to keep the experience within her. She said it was very nice. I could tell she felt better. We ate from NC on vacation, but I would go here again just for the customer service and different varieties of services.

Perfect service, nice, talkative, and friendly staff. Great greetings, wonderful, attractive and very peaceful atmosphere. I feel relaxed and so on...

I got 4 services there recently; An hour massage, a mani/pedi, and eyelash extensions. I paid full price for all services, I was not a Groupon customer. I feel like each service should get a review, but overall I'll rank this location a 3. I didn't want to harshly criticize this establishment because I've had such tremendous experiences at other Essentials locations, but I was not happy with this one. I hope this review is taken as constructive criticism so that this location can be as great as the others,

The massage itself was fine. The therapist was very nice with good pressure. Laying on the table however, I was cold for the majority of the massage until I asked her for an extra cover, then she turned on the table warmer. The face cradle was painful, not enough cushion. So I felt like my face wash being pressed into the plastic cradle when she was working on my upper back. Additionally, I asked for an aroma therapy upgrade. The most I got out of that was a whiff of essential oil right at the beginning of the massage, nothing else. The selection of oils was meager as compared to other spas, and I felt like I was pulling teeth when I asked the reception if I could smell what oils were available. 3 out of 5 stars.

Then I had the mani/pedi. I would NEVER go here for a mani or pedi ever again. All the equipment and furniture is cheap and uncomfortable. The pedicure chair didn't even have a running water foot spa, Just a shallow bucket of luke warm water. The atmosphere of the nail room is not relaxing at all. No nice music playing or nice lights. Fluorescent lighting and a TV blasting some re-runs of an old TV show. The nail tech was not personable, the only question she asked me was what color I wanted on my nails. She put too much gel nail polish on my fingers so they rounded up at the ends, the clear coat on my toes was not spread evenly so chipping was inevitable. The whole nail experience was awkward and unpleasant, I couldn't wait for it to be over. Getting my nails and toes re-done within a week of this visit isn't my idea of a quality job. 1 out of 5 stars,

The lash extensions I got from Olena were AMAZING. She deserves 5 stars herself. She was so gentle with the entire process, I fell asleep. Other lash extensions I got before have been placed too close to my lid and kind of hurt until the lashes grew out a bit. Not these! Olena took her time and it sure shows. None of my lashes are stuck together, none of the extensions are too close to my lid, and she even added a few purple ombre lashes in the middle for a very nice, subtle splash of color. Olena is a gem at this location and her services would be the only reason I return.

Hopefully this helps, I don't mean for it to be harsh, but after spending over $200 for the first visit I don't see the quality in returning, except for the lashes.

Most of the employees have worked there a long time ....there is a sense of comradery and they do care about your experience. The prices are great and the service is amazing

Prices may be good... massages are not. I paid extra for a deep tissue massage. It was absolutely NOT deep tissue, felt like the masseuse was just giving me a rub down. He did not dig into my muscles at all! And there was no hot stones as advertised. Not to mention it was not a full hour. Very disappointing as I was really sore from the gym and was looking forward to my shoulders being worked out. The waiting area and hallway was loud, the receptionist must not take into consideration when guests are in the treatment area, very distracting. Will not be going back.

Well where do. I start. Today is my Birthday so my wife made reservation for a massage and Ped & Man. for both of us. Everything started well. Massger was wonderful. But it all went down from there. I waited 45 min for my Ped & Man. Just to be told that No one was there to do my services. I got so upset. Then another 1/2 went by and my wife Tec was doing a great job. But time was t on our side. So she walk out without a Pedicure Finished. She only got a Manicure. which it was nice. But overall very Disappointed. Ask to speak with a Manager or the Owner. And none where Avil. Too bad it s looks like a nice place. Very unfortunate this happened. Hope you have a better experience. Will not return. Unless I get a call from management.

I've been to Essentials at Metrowest twice now and had a fantastic time each visit. I've visited quite a few of the Orlando area resorts and spas but the massages at Essentials were so much better! I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a great massage.

My massage was with Jermaine and he was awesome! You could tell he was very experienced and knew what he was doing. Such a nice person, too. The dim lighting and essential oils made it even more relaxing. The front desk was very helpful in accommodating our large group and the "waiting room" in the back was perfect for us to be together between services. Beautifully decorated, and everyone we encountered was helpful and professional.

Couldn't ask for a nicer, more professional establishment. I've been coming here for the last 4 years and I wouldn't got anywhere else. All their massage therapist have their own individual way of doing things, so you won't get a "scripted" massage. They will cater to your needs. And you simply cannot beat the price.

I called to schedule an appointment the day before as surprise for my wife. Found out family was staying over longer than anticipated and called to reschedule. Was told I couldn t and that because it was within 24 hours they were going to have to charge me 50% of the service which was never told me when I booked it. How can I cancel within 24 hours if I called and booked the day before? If your going to have such a ridiculous policy -at least make sure your employers are making customers aware prior to taking credit card information. Disputing with bank and getting my money back.

This was A Great Experience & I'll definitely be booking this place year round and a few more times during my stay this week. Highly recommended.

I always recommend this place to my friends and other. The staff is always nice and welcoming. There are always great weekly deals on massages. Speaking of massages, omg They are the best Never disappointed when I leave and always leave feeling relaxed and refreshed. Def recommend.

This was my first time here for a couples Swedish massage, the room was dimly lit with candles and rose petals. The vibe was very romantic. For my first massage I felt as though the mousse I forget his name was great..he paid close attention to the areas that I explained to him were areas of concern. I am definitely going to make this a regular addition to my lifestyle routine.

I was greeted at the door by Evan who took me back for my relaxation massage. I was very impressed with the precautions taken due to this Covid mess and VERY HAPPY they are back open! My relaxation massage was wonderful. Evan released all my tense areas that were bothering me and a few I didn't even know I had. I think at one point I even fell asleep. If you are looking for an AWESOME massage at a reasonable price, Essentials Spa is definitely a hidden gem. Thank you all!! :)

I love this place. I arrived for my very first appointment 10 min early and exactly 3p I was being called. I was there for a microdermabrasion and the tech was great. I left with my face feeling smooth and glowing.

I studied massage therapy....- I went here a couple weeks ago to get a relaxing massage. Low and behold that s not what I received. The therapist was personable(hence why I tipped) but extremely undereducated. I was 4 months pregnant at the time and the next day was bruised and sore due to deep pressure(not supposed to be placed on pregnant women, I asked for light to medium) He had asked me if I could lay on my stomach and if he should use a hot towel 2 things I knew were absolute no-nos so I declined. I was uncomfortable due to my gluteus being exposed but thankfully enough I had shorts on so it wasn t too bad but the standards should be set higher. I m extremely disappointed knowing I reached out and nothing was done.

First time here. Did the couples massage which included hot stones, aroma therapy, and pineapple foot scrub exfoliation. We had 2 male therapists. It was amazing. They were professional, considerate, patient, gentle and very very good at what they do. I love that they greet you promptly, start on time and give you your full hours worth of services. I really appreciate it when my time is respected. At the end they give you after care instructions and a cup of fresh cold water. My husband and I felt so pampered and happy. Their prices are super affordable. Also the front desk woman is a sweetheart!

Got a spa day for my girlfriend, and she had a terrible experience. Especially for manicure and pedicures, she said it was the worse most uncomfortable Mani pedi she's ever gotten. I would caution others coming here.

My sister in law and I took my mom for her birthday last week. We purchased the package through Groupon for the 1 hour massage and 1 hour facial. My masseuse was a little late due to miscommunication so my facial was only 25 minutes. I didn t make a stink about it though because the day was all about my mom.

21 years ago my mom had two strokes back to back and now suffers from bad vertigo. She is unable to lay flat on her back or stomach so she has only gotten massages in the chairs. Her masseuse was awesome and decided to give her a pregnancy massage (on her sides) and propped her up with some pillows. It was the first time she has gotten a full body massage since before her strokes.

Seeing how happy my mom was after her visit left me very happy with deciding to go with essential spa and salon. She wound up booking her next appointment for her facial and wants to bring me back for some more massages.

This will be my new spot to bring my friends for a girls day whenever I am back visiting in town. My masseuse was a man (I can t remember his name) but he was amazing. I go for a massage once a month, since I have scoliosis and I work on my feet all day I m always in pain, and I felt so much more relaxed and rejuvenated after this massage than any other.

I highly recommend this place for their friendly staff, white glove clean establishment, and great prices.

So professional. I went in for a Swedish massage, it was absolutely the best massage I received ever. My masseuse was so kind and found all my pressure points! I felt great when I left. I m from CT but when I come back to Orlando I will most definitely be back!

My first visit was amazing did MICRODERMABRASION TREATMENT for the first time felt relaxing mind blowing. The lady who did my treated made it feel relaxed quiet nice music playing. Was well informed on what she was doing while doing the treatment talked to me while it was getting it done. I will come back again, also was recommended so products professional products will see how this works for my skin. And the office was clean very friendly people in the front desk.

I have the best spa day at Essential Spa of Metrowest! The staff are all nice and welcoming. The staff greeted me at the car to complete paperwork as part of their Covid guidelines and my therapist Jermaine greeted me when I was done. Jermaine gave me one of the best massages I ve ever had. I feel very relaxed. After my massage I had a great facial my Lillia who rejuvenated my face and gave me helpful tips to maintain the glow and health of my skin.

Our first visit to Essential was in August 2019 in celebration of our 1st year wedding anniversary and our second visit was for Valentine 2020. Both visits were outstanding. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and welcoming and the service and staff are phenomenal! If you are seeking a great place to get a spa you owe I to yourself to visit Essential Spa in Metrowest. Good relaxing environment, the massage was great and she wasn't afraid to really dig in there like most other girls thinking theyd hurt you. They also gave us some complimentary wine because it was our anniversary!

I enjoyed the relaxation massage this morning. The staff was professional and courteous. The massage therapist Jermaine was professional and knowledgeable. He made me feel comfortable. The room was dimmed, smelled good and the music was relaxing - the room was not too cold. He asked me some questions and lead me through the massage so I would know what to expect. I would recommend him for your next massage. I will be going back every month. Go visit the spa and see for yourself. Prices are affordable, especially the specials from Monday - Thursday. The first day I went in to check it out the receptionist gave me a full tour of the spa and I felt very comfortable with her and the staff.

My visit at Essentials Spa was not okay. The person that was messaging my husband wasn't that great, she was an old Spanish lady with black hair. She didn't do his arms or legs all she did was his back. The person i had was okay as well, I believe his name was Ruben. He was a little too rough for my liking. I don't think I'll ever come back to this place. I kept hearing other people in the hall way so it wasn't really relaxing when you hear people talking more than the music playing. Very disappointed, poor quality.

The price was great! Ruben had just the right amount of tension for me. He was very professional and I will be asking for him from now on. They have you call from parking lot and bring your paperwork out to you for safety.

Kathleen and Jeanie were fantastic! My girlfriend and I enjoyed a lovely couples 50 minute massage, aromatherapy, hot stone treatment, and pineapple exfoliation. Am in heaven and smell like Lemongrass haha. Highly recommend, will definitely return!

If you're need a deep tissue massage, Caitlin will take great care of you! As a life long athlete, I've had too many deep tissue massages that are nothing but a firm massage. Caitlin knows exactly what to do to get deep into those problem areas, eliminating knots and got me back to normal. I can't recommend Caitlin enough!

I absolutely love this spa! From the moment you walk in and are greeted with the warm welcome of the reception staff, this place is pure relaxation and puts you into a very peaceful state of mind. My esthetician Evelin was very professional and knowledgeable and gives really great facials using very soothing techniques. You can tell she really cares about helping people with their skin and providing a professional facial on every level. My skin looked and felt so beautiful and I left feeling so relaxed and good about myself. I would highly recommend essentials spa and salon metrowest. It is clean and top notch in every aspect. Will be booked a massage treatment soon!

I have been to this spa on two occasions so far and I plan to go back. Jermaine is an amazing massage therapist and has put me to sleep both times which I have NEVER done. I fell into the deepest sleep and woke up refreshed and revitalized. I will definitely be going back to this place.
